Made a same day appointment for a gel manicure & pedicure- perfect right!! Or so I thought. The pedicure was basic so no complaints there. However, after she applied the gel polish to my toes there was a purplish/grayish film that began to form on the top coat and instead of them offering to fix it they would rather argue with me as if I’m crazy and my eyes don’t work. Their solution was to continue to add additional layers of the SAME polish like that was going to fix it!? So unprofessional & tacky. I didn’t even bother letting them do my manicure after this. I do not recommend and will be sure to tell everyone NOT to spend their money here.
I LOVE Samanthas mini spa. It is ALWAYS so relaxing there. The nail technicians are experts and extremely thoughtful. Top notch. I pay $10 more, but I think its worth it!!
The atmosphere is great but quality not. Had one pedicure and two gel manicures here. The first manicure lasted a week before color chipped and a nail popped off. The second lasted 12 hours before color started chipping, and a week before the same nail they ‘fixed’ popped off again. I’ve never found manicures that lacked so much longevity.
Love this salon. Katie is so sweet and accurate with her technique. I wish the heal treatment in the pedi was more effective, but overall a great experience.
Really clean modern salon, and they do a great job. Only a tiny bit more expensive than salons just outside the city and they stand behind their work so totally worth it. Love how close and easy to park (meters available right out front) it is for me!
Im not big on reviews but after coming to Samanthas Mini Spa a few times now over the last year I can say they have consistently given me the BEST overall experience, nails, and service. They dont do acrylic with powder (as the space is small and the chemicals smell strongly) but have dip/gel and would add a nail tip to your dip for 10$ extra ($55 + tip).As a Black woman, theres definitely anxiety at nail salons, especially when I dont know if Ill be treated like a suspicious stranger and as a paying customer and human.Na and her staff have always been kind and knowing this makes me feel way less anxious!Today Lynn did my nails, which I LOVE. I could tell she tried her best and mistakes were made (Im very stiff), she fixed them before I could say anything. I did a simple manicure with a sparkly black/gold color and almond shaped.
I am a woman in a wheelchair and I was treated absolutely cruelly. Not only was I racially profiled, I was completely descriminated against. They laughed at me and watched me struggle. They denied me service although I had an appointment. They treated me like dirt. I threatened to call the news and then I was serviced. I would not recommend this place to anyone who has a heart. A disability doesn’t make me any less human although these people definitely managed to make me feel that way.
Felt spacious and not packed in like most nail salon. Had great experience and planning on going back.
Great location, great service, and good prices.
Stylish, Clean and Friendly! The ladies fit me in last minute and did a very good job. Diverse selection of colors, quality service, and conscientious of COVID guidelines. Highly recommend.FYI: no pets allowed
Great pedicure, super nice ladies! Will definitely go back!
My nail tech was excellent! Located across from my home which saves a lot of time especially when I used to drive 20 mins to Bloomington to get my nails done from downtown Minneapolis. I love just walking across the street now.
I stopped by on a whim to see if they could squeeze me in for a gel manicure. I was very impressed. They do take walk ins, and they do an excellent job. I was fortunate enough to have Samantha do my nails, and they are stunning! All of the tools came in a sterilized bag, the spa doesnt have a strong chemical smell to it, parking is easy with lots of street options, and the staff were all so friendly and professional! I also met a couple of regular clients while I was there and they had nothing but kind words for Samanthas. Ill be back!
DO NOT GO FOR SOAK OFF. I needed to get a full set of acrylics soaked off and that is exactly what I asked for. When I went in everyone was nice although the nails were not once soaked and the nail tech used a nail extension to push off the acrylic. This was painful from the pressure. Whatever she wasnt able to get off that way WAS LEFT ON. Not happy at all. It was also $15 for a terrible job. NOT WORTH IT.
DO NOT GO HERE! I have gone to Samanthas Mini Spa many times before and had a pretty decent experience. I have gotten both dip and gel. I just went a couple weeks ago and got dip done on my nails. The technician did a horrible job, she didnt bring the dip to the edge, she didnt clean it up, there were nicks in the top of my nails, truly the worst dip I have ever gotten and I have gotten close to 50 dip manicures. I was out of town RIGHT after I got them done for 2 weeks and had no time to go back in until tonight as they close at 7 PM and I work late. I went back to see if they would give me a gift card or something to come back at a later date as I have no time to go back in the next week or so. They said they couldnt do that and my only option was to come in tomorrow (which I cannot do). They said I should of called within a few days (as I said I was OUT of town, I was supposed to call and say Hey, I need these fixed but I cant come in for two weeks) They were extremely rude and the customer service was horrible.
Had dip manicure and it was done perfectly. Great color choice. Good sanitary practices. I just moved downtown and happy this is close by. Their prices are very competitive with other good nail salons in the Twin Cities. Wish they would more prominently post a price list in the salon.
I’ve only been there once but it was by far the best pedicure experience I’ve ever had. Super clean, wore gloves & has plastic liners in the pedicure tubs. Every product was in small individual plastic cups & ive never seen such care to keep things clean. The shade range as far as polish goes is incredible, any color I could imagine. Super gentle & great prices! My nails have never looked this good! I’ve been telling everyone I know to go here. Huge gorgeous windows, chandeliers, high class equipment. So good.
Very clean and nice interior. They did an incredible job on our pedicures. Will definitely be going there from now on.
Got me in same day for appointment and I loved my nails !
Ive been to Samanthas about a dozen times in the last year and they never disappoint! Incredible quality, professionalism, and cleanliness. Id advise always to make an appointment before going.
I won’t go anywhere else in Minneapolis! My gel stays on longer from here than anywhere else without chipping.
Being new to the area, it was a perfect location. Easy parking and lovely staff! I got the dip for the first time and was really impressed with results. I will be back!
I went in for a soak off of a full set of acrylics. Not once were the nails soaked and my nails were left looking damaged and terrible. Not to mention overpriced for a 20 minute terrible job. DO NOT GET YOUR NAILS TAKEN OFF HERE.
Wonderful experience from start to finish. The technicians were so sweet and attentive. The massage chairs were awesome, and I loved that the basin was lined and sanitized. My nails look fabulous and my skin is super silky. I’ll definitely be back.
Samantha’s mini spa is amazing! I go every two weeks for a dip manicure and spa pedicure. I’ve been to many nail salons in the Twin Cities and I will only come back here! Na is amazing and creative! She does all these complicated designs for me and the pricing is more than fair! She does beautiful work as do all the ladies.
Walked in and recieved spectacular care! Got in almost immediately and everything was clean and the ladies who worked on our feet were friendly and their work was precise and thorough. Made for a wonderfully relaxing time for my friend and I! Thank you! Will be back again!
Best manicure I’ve had in years. Regular manicure and it lasted 4 weeks! Very nice owner, clean and pleasant atmosphere. They took my daughter and me as walk-ins after they were supposed to be closing, and never rushed us or made us feel like a bother. I am very picky about my nail salons and cannot recommend this place more highly.
Took my mom here for a late mothers day celebration. Thankfully they have a Hmong staff who keeps my mom company. She had a great experience. They staffs were friendly and professional. They did my 6yr old nails & toes. Shes so happy! Well definitely come again.
I came here with my mother, mother-in-law, and best ladies the day before my wedding to get our manicures done. Samanthas Mini Spa was perfect: affordable, luxurious, and very inviting. We had a great time chatting with the women who were working with us, and the manicure quality was top-notch. Would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a place in the Mill District!
I recently moved to the area and had been struggling to find my go to nail salon. After several poor experiences in the Twin Cities, I decided to try Samanthas. They do an excellent job here and have been very busy the 2 times Ive been there. Reviews have complained about prices but I think their gel manicure is very reasonable but the basic pedicure could be cheaper. The staff doesnt try to up-sell you on services like other salons do and offer high quality polishes. My only frustration is gel polish colors arent organized very well so it is almost impossible to tell the brand or find the color you want.
It is my first time visiting at Samanthas Mini Spa and the service is quite okay for the overpriced rates. I got the basic pedicure and manicure using the matte gel, also paid an additional $5 for the gold flakes. The spa is clean and the employees are helpful and friendly. Overall, its a good nail salon.
I always get dip powder on my nails, and I recently tried Samanthas Mini Spa because I am new to the area. It has been three days, and three of my nails have already chipped, which never happens when I get dip. The technician was nice, but I could tell she was not putting her best work into the manicure and that resulted in sloppy work. The edges of my nails/cuticles have color on them which is due to the lazy work. I am very disappointed because I had a friend recommend this place. Waste of $45+tip.
The lady that did my manicure and pedicure was really great and sweet. What I didnt like was how their eyebrow waxing station was set up. How it was the lady dropped wax all over my pants and shirt. But besides that and it being way more expensive than other downtown places it was okay.
Ive tried out quite a few nail salons in the Downtown area and this one is, by far, the best. You should make an appointment although usually you can get a same day appointment. Super friendly staff and Ive never had an issue with my manicures. Very clean and well organized.
Samanthas is only a mile or so from my house. Ive been here several times and I and my companions are always happy when we leave. All the staff are skilled and kind. The prices are reasonable. The spa is clean and well kept. Also, they let you bring your own wine and provide glasses. Its also very close to some good restaurants so we can do brunch near by then walk over for pedis. Its my new regular go-to for nails.Pro tip: Make an appointment.Suggestion: The spa could benefit to an update of its website and social media. Its not as easy as it should be to get to their website.
The owner is truly the best nail technician. I have been a loyal client for a over 5 years now and she is super amazing!!! She is friendly, courteous, completely fabulous!!
I love this nail salon. Every time I come here I have excellent service and a top notch manicure. The gel polish lasts until my nails grow out every time. The couple of times I’ve gone to other salons in the twin cities I’ve had substantially and noticeably worse manicures. The techs here listen to my nail visions and always give me exactly what I had been hoping for. I also love their honesty at this place. I always make an appointment because they do get quite busy, but I’ve seen them turn away walk-ins at the door because they are all filled up. I’ve been to my share of nail places where they tell you they’ll be right with you and then make you sit and wait for an hour, or places that make you wait regardless of your appointment because they’ve taken walk-ins before you. Samantha’s respects your time, which is really welcome.
Nice spot, fast service and great work. I thought the price was fair. Katie did my powder dip manicure, and I was quite pleased.
Visited for my first time today and was very pleased! The spa is clean and cute and the employees are very friendly. I felt relaxed and did not feel rushed. I would highly recommend. Make sure to call and schedule an appointment first!
Great location and I love that they have parking! Easy to make an appointment and always efficient.
My gel polish was perfect. Loved the service, the nail color options, parking is convenient with designated spots in back. Got great advice on taking care of my natural nails.
I did a walk in and they were pretty rude with my presence there. Plus super overpriced for no reason. They weren’t as careful when fixing my Gel, and they are pretty demanding about tips. Overall never going back!
They did very fast and my nails look good. It costs $55 to do the extension and then dip powder. Ill come back.
I called ahead of time and asked how much for a regular manicure. They told me $25. I thought it was expensive but needed it done. When I got there I asked for a manicure and they told me to come back in 10 min. I told her I would wait then she told me they didnt have time to do a manicure but would take off the gel polish and paint my nails. I asked how much and she told me $25! They wanted to charge me the same price for doing less!! I told he she must not want my business and I left!!
Great pedicure. Really clean inside. Nice chairs.
I called and asking for an appointment same day and they did! In a matter of an hour I was getting a manicure. She did a fantastic job and my nails are looking better than ever. Its clean and the staff is very friendly. I will be returning again!
Very hygienic and professional salon and staff.
This place was awesome! My manicure is 4 1/2 weeks old and no chips! Best, longest lasting manicure ever! Friendly atmosphere in a small, quaint setting.
Excellent pedicure! Very nice Nail Tech! Will come again!
Stopped in today for a gel manicure... amazing! The salon is lovely, up to date and extremely clean! Highly recommended!
They have an excellent assortment of gel colors and everyone who works there is friendly. My gel manicures always last at least 2 weeks. They do prefer call a heads so they know how many people to staff, but have always been able to squeeze me in when something breaks!
I brought my girlfriend here for her birthday for a manicure and a pedicure. It was an awesome experience and the staff was personable and inviting. They did a superb job and would recommend this place to everyone.
I have been here twice now. The first visit was for a gel manicure and the experience and look of my nails was great! The manicure was flawless and my technician was very friendly and made me feel comfortable and relaxed. I raved about the place to friends and came back 4wks later with a friend for a mani/pedi combo. This experience was exactly opposite from my first experience. The technician (who might be an owner or manager?) was very distracted, constantly stopping what she was doing to take care of other things/people. As a result, she rushed when she was actually working with me and both my pedicure and manicure turned out sloppy. I’ve already had to redo my pedicure because she did not trim my nails short as I had asked and left a painful corner of my nail digging into my toe. I was really excited about my first experience here so I’d like to try again, maybe just requesting a different nail pro to help me.
The look of the mani pedi was fine but the one star is due to the fact that the technician used so much force pushing back the cuticles on my feet, causing one nail bed to bleed significantly and the next day become very painful and infected. Won’t be returning.
The service is ok. But I don’t like the nail professionals at all only one girl is amazing so far her name is Lin really nice, others (I’ve been) can’t even make all nails same size and shape. TODAY WAS THE WORST EXPERIENCE I’VE EVER HAD. So I asked for a super square shape and the outcome is neither square nor round shape somewhere in between, really bad . I asked her to correct some nails several times, but made even worse so I gave up and tried not to think about It. When we were done she asked me if I liked it and she was older and I wanted to be nice and said yes ( Because it was already done I couldn’t chage anything so be nicer is better choice when you see that nail professional is really bad at her job) BUT THE END WAS SO DISAPPOINTING. I gave her a card and (by the way I’ve done gel nail manicure, I’m not doing cuticles ever, so just cut, file and cleaning the sides) it was 35$ and it’s overpriced, but I knew that no problem and than she’s asking me HOW MUCH TIP I WAS GOING TO LEAVE . I said sorry what and she asked me same question and I said I wasn’t going to live any ( In my country we don’t tip so I only leave tip if I’m really, really satisfied with the service) she was still standing watching me and than I asked if it was required or not and SHE GOT REALLY ANGRY AND WENT TO CHARGE THE CARD. Omg who is doing that?
I had THE best spa pedicure and manicure at Samantha’s Mini Spa today. The place was clean, the staff was curtious and Nina took her time on both my manicure and pedicure. After trying out a few other places, whose prices were absurd for the service provided, I am so grateful I found this place. I would highly recommend Samanthas Mini Spa to friends in the area.
Nice little nail salon. Clean and friendly staff.
Clean and friendly! Exceptional service. Make an appointment, walk ins rarely available.
*I hate to write negative things for businesses because I believe in blessing others to thrive. I reached out to the owner but she never responded to me. So here I am having to tell the story as is.* I paid 80 dollars for some very crappy service. The lady that helped me did a horribly rough job on my pedicure. Each time she was removing a piece of my toe nails it hurt badly. I also barely had any time to soak my feet before she started working on them just because there are customers waiting in line. My callus were removed like promised. My leg has skin breakage from how rough she rubbed the leg scrub onto me. My friend that started her pedicure exact same time as I did was barely half way through when I was told my pedicure was over. I was not able to feel relaxed or pampered at all. Then moving onto my manicure- she didnt speak clearly about the gel manicure being more expensive. When I specifically told her I wanted the mani+pedi package ($60), she asked me if I wanted gel or normal polish, and said gel is better. I was like sure lets do gel then. It was only till checkout she told me that gel was 20 dollars more expensive. Also because how quickly she wanted to finish my manicure, she cut my hand and blood came out. She didnt even apologize or try to disinfect. I was left with swollen finger afterwards. I treated myself with this because I work hard to make a living and felt I deserved to be pampered. Wow, neither did they make my hands/feet look or feel any better, I also spent ridiculous amount of money on a waste of time. OVERRATED for sure. I looked into ratings before going in there trusting what I read. Thats why I believe you need to see this other side of story before you decide on trusting them with your beautiful self.
Great experience, beautiful atmosphere, best quality, and absolutely the most friendly staff. Samanthas Mini Spa has #NailedIt 💅
Perfectly wonderful! Each and every cosmetologist provides a personal and professional experience for each and every personThanks so much!
Great service. A little pricey, but I think it was worth it!
Its a fine place, we didnt even need an appointment
Not good. People were rude and wasn’t a good pedi.
It was my first time there. It was a great experience.
Down to earth, she did a fabulous job on my nails.
I like the staff and the place Is very clean.
These hours are WRONG. No ever answers the phone! Smh.
Make sure you call for an appointment not a large staff dont like walk-ins
Not so friendly, minimal parking and they dont do artificial nails
Great pedicure
Made a same day appointment over the phone for 4 pm, they had put me down for noon on Thursday and weren’t helpful at all at fixing their mistake.
Get hair and nail service
What nail salon doesn’t do acrylic??? So wierd... Will not return
My nails literally have been cracking off and they aren’t long and I’m not rough with them after 2 days my nails cracked off in the middle and other ones followed
