I lived at Ridgewood Ave for almost 7 years. Great management (Nancy), always clean and attentive. It’s was great to call this place home for all of these years! I will miss all the closet space and location the most! Special shout-out to Oscar for all the work he does as well!
I have rented from Nancy for nearly three years. What began as a 12 month lease, transitioned easily to my home for ~3years. Nancy was an excellent landlord who communicated very clearly. She knows what she is doing, and takes care of her properties and residents. If you are looking for a new place to rent, I would recommend one Putnam Properties apartments.
We loved living at the pillsbury property, the apartment and building were all well maintained and we always had positive experiences with the landlady and maintenance! Great property!
I have lived in this building for 9 years. Smartest move I ever made. Not only is it pet friendly, but the apartments a large with tons of closet space. The building is also very quiet. Nancy is totally awesome to rent from. She is understanding and fair with all tenants. Maintenance issues are taken care of very quickly. Nancy also makes sure that the building is kept up and clean inside and out. I recommend Nancy and Putnam Properties!
“She’s a really nice person”
I lived in an efficiency studio on the ground level of 2308 Lyndale Ave S in Minneapolis for a 12-month lease starting summer of 2019 ending in 2020. I was very impressed at the overall quality of the carpeting and small section of wood flooring, the kitchen appliances and cabinets, the size of the walk-in closet area and the size of the shower in the bathroom. The large window in the living area was fantastic and let a lot of light into the apartment. Price of rent was reasonable especially in the uptown neighborhood with so many awesome shops and restaurants being a short walking distance. It was great that parking was available in a lot right behind the building for a very reasonable monthly fee. I was ecstatic to find such a cute little apartment in uptown that allowed dogs without breaking the bank on monthly pet rent. Any maintenance request I put in was always addressed in a timely fashion. I loved that I was able to set up a google phone number so my friends and family who came to visit could dial my apartment number on the pin pad outside the front door and the call was directed to my phone for me to buzz them in or to let in any package delivery people to drop off packages when I was not at home. I was so happy to have stumbled upon Putnam Properties in my past apartment search, I have nothing but great things to say. Nancy is a fabulous landlord and it was always an absolute pleasure to bump into her in the hallway or while letting our dogs outside. I highly recommend Putnam Properties for your next apartment and encourage you to check out the 2308 Lyndale Ave S apartment complex or tour one of their other apartment buildings.
Lived at both 2500 Pleasant & 507 Ridgewood, total of 4 years. Nancy + Oscar are both great and attentive. Great apartments, very clean & quiet!
Ive lived at the Hopkins property for a year now. Great place. Very quiet, well maintained and safe. Location is excellent and only a block off Hopkins downtown. Management does a great job taking care of any maintenance issues- turnaround time for any repairs is quick. I would recommend if you are looking for a place in the west metro.
I lived on Ridgewood Ave for 2 years. Putnam Prop made everything effortless. Nancy has been great to work with. So far hands down the best landlord I’ve dealt with. If something needs repair, within days it’s taken care of. No hassle. Whenever I needed to contact Nancy she was always helpful, and so nice. I’d definitely recommend!!
I lived in the 2100 Aldrich Avenue building. The unit was nice for the price, but the neighborhood and management left a lot to be desired. Throughout my time there, management sent scolding texts in the middle of the night, dropped in unannounced, and left rude and threatening messages on the doors for all tenants in the building. I experienced a flood in my unit when the tenant upstairs overfilled their bathtub, and although management responded quickly, they did not reciprocate the level of flexibility and friendliness that I showed them during the difficult experience. They charged me exorbitant fees against my security deposit for what other rental companies would call ordinary wear and tear. For example, I was charged $50 for the cheap vertical blinds that fell off simply from opening and closing them. I was charged $100 for minor holes in the walls from decorating the unit. As for the neighborhood, my bike was stolen and my car was broken into within the same week. Im not usually the sort of person to write negative reviews, but this was an extraordinary experience that is worth sharing. I would not recommend renting from this company.
I have nothing but good things to say about Putnam Properties. Dog friendly apartment, rent is priced well, & the neighborhood is great! Nancy is wonderful & quick to respond. I can’t imagine having a better landlord!
I lived at the 2500 Pleasant Ave location for three years. The building, parking lot, and surrounding property were always well maintained and properly cared for. Management was friendly and responsive and always willing to work out any issue in a timely fashion. The unit itself was in great condition and provided a great value of size/location for its price range. I would highly recommend Putnam Properties to anyone interested in living in the south Minneapolis area.
I hope love is showered on this manager and things change for them.
I had a wonderful experience living at a Putnam Properties apartment in Hopkins. The apartment itself was extremely cozy, quiet, and well-maintained in a peaceful neighborhood, and the other residents were very friendly. It is really a community where everyone knows each other. Very pet friendly as well. My little dog had several dog friends to play with. I would definitely recommend Putnam Properties.
I lived at the 2308 Lyndale Ave building for 5 years and only left because I had to move out of state. The property was well-maintained, comfortable, quiet, had convenient off-street parking, and was reasonably priced. Nancy is a great landlord, always making sure that the property is well-maintained and quick to respond to maintenance issues in my unit. Highly recommend to anyone looking to rent in Minneapolis!
Putnam Properties was an excellent choice for my partner and I! Nancy was a very supportive landlord, quick to respond and deal with any concerns we had about the unit. We were referred to the building through a friend, and were grateful to find a wonderful place to live. Great price for rent & off-street parking- would highly recommend to anyone looking in the area. Thanks, again, Nancy!
I have lived in the Aldrich building for almost four years. I have to re-locate out of state for work, otherwise I would not move! Nancy and Eric make the property a safe, clean place to live and are very responsive and helpful if you have any issues. I have respectful, nice and quiet neighbors, off-street parking and a large, but cozy space. I love my home and I will miss it greatly! I highly recommend Putnam properties, and if I move back to Minneapolis in the future, they are the first company I will call!
I rented from Putnam Properties for three years. In my experience they are an honest and responsible company. I appreciated that Nancy responds to and considers her tenants needs and is so easy to talk to. Everyone that works for the company was so nice and that made me feel good when ever I talked to them. The couple that cleans the building is so sweet. They always smiled and waved and said hello. I felt safe with the other people who lived in the building. I liked that they make the building a place people want to stay living in by renting to nice people and updating the property. I would rent from them again and recommend them to family and friends.
I lived at a Putnam property for 3 years and just moved only due to a living change. I was very sad to leave and called that apartment my home due to the great neighbors and caring management. Nancy was always there when I needed anything and was very quick to respond when there was an issue which wasnt frequent. She sincerely cares that everyone is happy and tries to make everyone feel welcome. I consider Nancy a friend and am very happy I got to rent from her. The common areas were kept very clean by a friendly cleaning crew. Parking was never an issue even in the busy Uptown area. The grounds around the outside of the building were always clean with well maintained grass and flowers.
I received notice that I had 5 weeks to move out after a neighbor complained about the smell of pot. I am responsible, thoughtful, and friendly tennant. I possess a medical marijuana card from the state of MN. This meant nothing to the staunch, zero tolerance owner. Pure discrimination. BewareUpdate: Now the owner is retaliating and bullying me by sending one way communications and not answering calls or text messages. She is very unprofessional, and I am now afraid that I have no privacy. She sent a message that said she would be coming to my unit (only gave me 19 hours notice) even though I told her I will be at work during that time. I have a dog and valuable possessions in my apartment, and I no longer feel safe or as if I have any privacy. On top of all of this, I feel as though I am being discriminated against. The entire building is full of well to do white professional looking people with nice cars. I drive an old van, have tattoos, am of mixed decent, and obviously do not fit in with the owners idea of a good tenant.Since I do not feel any sense of privacy or safety I am forced to leave most of my belongings until my move out date so I can stay with friends and family until the end of April. If you arent white, wealthy, and republican this is not the place for you.
Putnam Prop has been a great company to rent from. My apartment came clean and cozy. They are responsive, keep the building clean, and have even updated things since Ive lived here (parking lot). I highly recommend them!
I lived with the properties for 2 years and had nothing but positive experiences with the property owners. When I had maintenance issues, Nancy responded quickly and sent her husband down. I also had a break in, which wasnt normal, and she let me know everything would be fixed in a hurry. The best landlord Ive had in the twin cities. Pet and family friendly, my one bed and one bath was enormous with generous closet space, as well as affordable for the area. Highly suggest renting with Putnam
I lived in Putnam Properties for 5 ½ years, and would not have moved if I did not relocate out of state. Nancy was a wonderful landlord: the building was kept up-to-date, and she was always available. This place is a gem, and the quality of service is fantastic.
I lived at 2308 Lyndale, which is a clean and updated living space. I had a one bedroom and never had any issues with anything. Nancy is the most responsive, nice and understanding landlord I have had! I highly recommend Putnam Properties!
I have never rented from a better company than Putnam Properties. The property is managed by the owner who actually cares about her property, instead of a third-party property manager who is just doing a job. Putnam Properties was extremely responsive to maintenance requests. The owner was able to fix my maintenance issues within the day whenever I had a problem.
Nancy and Eric are great. I truly enjoyed living at my apartment. Affordable with responsive maintenance.
If you have a non violent gross misdemeanor from over a decade ago you will be denied. During the walk through I was told they look at felonies. All requirements passed well and was denied from a 2005 gross misdemeanor.
We moved to the Twin Cities from South Texas 2 years ago and went through the whole finding a home process virtually basically. I heard of Putnam Properties through my locator, Apartment Mart, and I couldnt be more pleased with the experience. Nancy Putnam put me at ease instantly about our move. Im so glad we decided on our apartment in Hopkins---Eric is on top of any maintenance needs and they are just a true pleasure to work with. We moved from a one bedroom into a two bedroom over the summer and it was such an easy transistion as well. We have two dogs and I am happy to say that this building is VERY much pet friendly---Jim, the caretaker, has a dog as well and he keeps me in the loop on how our boys do throughout the day (we had a separation anxiety issue when we first moved). I love Nancy and the entire Putnam Properties team---we feel blessed to have found them and love our home! Plus, you truly cannot find a better location! We plan to stay here until we decide to purchase a home---I cant imagine renting from anyone else!
I really like Nancy and I love our apartment. Our price is good for what we get; storage, a parking space and a great location.
We set up an appointment at x:xx time. We were at the wrong place, but still 20+ minutes ahead of schedule. We let the Owner, Ms. Putnam, that we would be a little early. However, we were sent to the wrong address because of Google Maps and me not paying attention (my fault for sure). When she gave us a call wondering where we were, we mentioned our area, 20 mins away, and she said it would be half an hour away and tried DESPERATELY to reschedule, despite the fact that we wouldve been, at most, 5 minutes past scheduled time.I guess us as potential renters were too much of a burden to wait around a few minutes for.Halfway to the new area she texted us that she had a personal emergency to attend to. I attempted a call to verify any information and to attempt a reschedule(, despite how difficult it is for us both to get together for this) but she immediately sent me to voicemail.I was initially looking forward to their apawrment layout but was extraordinarily turned off by her demeanor.Unfortunately, I dont know what shes like as a manager for an apartment, but because of this 10 minute experience we have decided elsewhere. . .
I felt I had to give Putnam Properties a fair chance, if anyone tries to google them for reviews. My experience with them was great! Im beginning to realize thats hard to find. I found them on Craigslist while looking for apartments that allow dogs. Not many do in the cheaper price range I was looking at.I lived in the Ridgewood apartments with my now husband. The apartment itself was fine. Everything worked, nothing broke at all. Showers were hot, with great water pressure. No issues with heating or AC. We also got a huge walk in closet! Neighbors were great and very quiet. The street is just off the highway, and its an awesome residential, quiet street! I loved the area. We were in uptown, but it didnt feel like it.The property manager Nancy is amazing! She is straight forward and talks to you like youre her friend. Upon first meeting, I liked her right away. She gave us permission to paint one accent wall (but we never did). She knew my husband and I by name, and would always say hi to us when shed come to the property. She is very personable! She always answered her phone, you were even allowed to call her cell phone for emergencies in the middle of the night. My husband mentioned he was kinda handy with things, and asked if it would be possible if anything broke, if he could fix it and give them a bill. She said yes. So you just have to ask! Knowing his handy-ness, our first month there, she asked if he would water her new plants that got planted outside for $100/month off rent. Of course!Nancys husband does the maintenance (along with a few others) and was always very prompt! There was one time where we did have mice, which Ive since read that happens a lot on the ground level, and we were right next to the dumpster. Some holes were filled and the mice stopped immediately! So awesome.I heard vacuuming and saw cleaning at least once a week in the hallways, maybe even twice a week. Very clean and never smelled from any tenants or their dogs! There was one car that kept parking right by our window in the middle of the night, who didnt even live there, and it was clearly labeled it was not a parking spot. We let Nancy know and she came by the next day and that car never came back. She also let us out of our lease early because my dad passed away and we went to go live with family. We gave her about 40 days notice instead of 60, and she was able to find someone to rent our apartment so it was no big deal to let us go!She also refunded our security deposit in full PLUS interest! I never hear of that. I only hear of people talking about not getting their security deposit back! We even put some screw holes in the wall, and the baby gate we used for our dog left some indents in the wall. She couldve definitely charged ANYTHING, but she didnt. That was really awesome!Overall a great place to live with a great property manager and a great maintenance team! We were almost going to go right back to where we lived, but there werent any openings and we didnt really want or need to be near uptown.I recommend Putnam Properties to everyone!
