I moved to Middletown 6 yrs ago. Tried a few different Veterinary offices. My boy is extremely sensitive. He has been treated with love and kindness. By myself and my family. I except the same from his healthcare provider. I feel as I get that here at Monhagen Veterinary. Always super nice and commutative . We have many more camping and hiking trips to do. I need to know his healthcare is solid and I do now. Thank you all for caring for my boy Zaggy!

We are soo happy and impressed with the veterinarian services that we received at Monhagen Veterinary Hospital. It was our rescue dog Jeffreys first time there, and he was quite nervous for his annual exam. Before we even got into the room, I noticed a sign that they had posted at a dogs eye level that was welcoming Jeffrey to the hospital. Jeffreys vet, Linda Hanel made Jeffrey feel as comfortable as possible during his exam and shots. She even got on the floor to trim Jeffreys nails along with the technician. Id highly recommend Monhagen Veterinary Hospital for its entire caring staff. We even traveled over an hour away to get here. Our old veterinarian clinic that we went to for over 20 years became too much because the vets were always leaving, as soon as your dog got use to one. The staff werent very professional and caring as well.

I brought my puppy in today for her first visit. I cannot say express how happy I was. First the tech, Jessica, came in and explained everything, then the vet, Josh came in. He examined my puppy and answered all my questions. He was so caring and attentive to her and I. I never felt rushed. Everyone was very friendly and professional and the office was super clean. 10 stars!

We have two dogs who both have lots of health concerns. We have seen every vet and probably every vet tech at this practice, and have never left feeling less than 100% satisfied. Even my anxious dog is not scared of going to the vet at all, thanks to the love and care everyone at Monhagen gives to each animal. Dr. Furman examines my dogs and the whole time they just think he is petting them! Despite their busy schedule, I am always able to get an appointment when I absolutely need one, and the practice is wonderful with communication. Having such a wonderful place to take my animals and feel confident in the care they are receiving is by far the best thing about living in Middletown.After reading the smattering of one and two star reviews on here, I feel compelled to mention that the vets here are ALWAYS very conscientious about finances when treating my pets. They always offer me multiple treatment options when possible, in case I am not able to afford every suggestion. They take a simple and conservative approach when it is appropriate in order to charge me less. Considering how expensive their schooling and training is, as well as how much more I paid on the one occasion I did need to take my dog to an emergency vet, I would say the prices are beyond reasonable and I never feel blindsided by the cost. Unfortunately, it can be expensive at times to own an animal, but this isn’t Monhagen’s fault in any way.I can’t recommend Monhagen highly enough; I would give them 100 more stars if I could.

I came in a while ago and told her my cat was throwing up and she told me to come in with a BM sample and she gave him shots. I then get a call saying there is nothing wrong with him. But he has been throwing up none stop

I brought it my small yorkie mix who has been to about 7 different vets in NYS. We warn every office how aggressive she gets and how she always needs a muzzle for examination. The vet lady appeared to have never ever handled an aggressive tiny dog. she look petrified (not even the groomers ive taken her to have been this scared) it was a short examination . After hearing her issue she was prescribed some pills and sent out the door. Vet barely touched her even muzzled. NOt sure how they handle the big scarey dogs that come in here.

I have so many great reasons to write this review. My cat suffered an injury to her tail this week. I called Monhagen Veterinary Hospital first thing Tuesday morning and they were able to get my cat in same day. Upon arrival Alex came out to my car and got all my paperwork to start us as a new patient. She then called us to come in and we were escorted right to the exam room. (Yes I was able to actually go in with my Honey cat! So glad they allow that since she was so scared and upset being there). Dr Hanel quickly came in and examined Honey and assured me that my cats tail wasn’t fractured and that it was a soft tissue injury. After a shot of steroids and some pain medicine to go home with and a lot of rest for Honey, 2 days later she is starting to act like herself again! I would highly recommend anyone with an animal to make an appointment at Monhagen Veterinary Hospital. You won’t be disappointed.

Dr Furman is great with the dogs, his other associate however is horrible. Shes refused to see both of our dogs for separate incidents.. one was attacked by a dog and she was scared of our dog and refused to see her and made dr furman have to see her on a Sunday morning... and today she refused to see the other after he ate a possible lethal amount of chocolate, shes a cold hearted and horrible person and shouldnt be a veterinarian!

So impressed. Recently switched Vets. Took our 4 Goldens for wellness checks and shots. Dr. Furman and staff were absolutely wonderful. Took time with each dog. They were all so attentive, kind and just awesome with all of them. Highly recommended.

I took my dog of 13 years Java until he passed, I take my cat Willow and recently my new puppy. Best care in Hudson valley for all your vet needs. When my cat got a urine tract infection and trouble with kidneys. Mohegan vet treated her. Receptionist is amazing.

Dr. Furman took the time, twice in one weekend, to discuss an emergency medical condition our cat was having. His straightforward, honest answers helped our family make the right decision for our cat, with peace of mind. He is a veterinarian that truly cares about animals and the people that love them.

This is a very nice place to bring your pets to receive high quality care. I usually bring my two dogs together to save a trip, but at times, it can be exhausting as one of them is a fluff ball, the other has anxiety and becomes a little over protective. I bring him in with a muzzle for everyone’s safety of course.For those of you that fear your pet will be turned away because of his aggression or anxiety, do not fear bringing them in. After 3 visits with my red heeler eyeballing Dr. Sauter’s every move, he finally gave in to his belly rub. I almost cried. Dr. Sauter has always been very sweet, but he wasn’t trying to hear her out.On my last visit, I had to bring him alone for his allergy shots, and he was a little hesitant, but finally gave in. He didn’t want the doctor to stop loving him. It was a little embarrassing, but internally satisfying that he felt so comfortable going to the clinic.It feels nice to take your pets to a place that welcomes them as family. It’s already stressful getting them in and out of the car, so when you come to an office for care, you expect not only quality service, but genuine care for your furry friends. If my crazy dog can roll over and beg for more rubs, then I’m sure after a few visits, you will feel at ease with the low stress atmosphere for your pets. My other fur child doesn’t count because he’s just a softy for everyone.There is parking, and I never have to wait over a minute to be called into the office. Your pets have free access to treats, and the added hugs and love that comes with the care.

I have two cats. Many times I have reached out to Monhagen Vet Hospital, they are always there for me! After hours, you will always get a call back in minutes. I have had an emergency and met Dr. Furman in 10 minutes at the office, he took care of my cat immediately and had a wonderful outcome! I have found the vet for my cats for the rest of their lives. It all starts at the front desk everyone is courteous, helpful and accommodating. The Drs truly care about your pets and only want to do whats best for them . When I felt it was time and I called to bring my little guy in to ease his suffering Dr Sauter was very compassionate to both Rocky and myself . It was the hardest thing Ive had to do in a long time but the way she was with him both caring and respectful made it bearable. It didnt end there, days later getting a card from the office offering condolences proved that they do really care.

I have 2 completely different dogs. One is a 7 year old pitbull who was abused and mistreated before being adopted, and doesn’t get along with most people/ dogs. When he sees Dr Josh, he jumps, tail wagging and smiles even after he had to get surgery here due to neglect and poor judgment from a previous vet. My other puppy, Scout who’s 11 months & as happy as can be, loves getting all the love (and treats) from the staff before seeing Dr Josh. The faculty is immaculate, updated and beautiful to even go into! Definitely recommend this place to anyone who ever needs a new vet or looking to switch! The response time to emails and even booking an appointment is prompt and all of the staff are friendly and welcoming! Dr Josh is hands down the most patient, caring, down to earth vet who cares not only for the animals but also for the owners by carefully explaining things. I really wish I could give Monhagen more than 5 starts, definitely the best veterinary facility!

While I have had multiple pets over many years, I currently have no pets to brag about. However, if I should find the right pet for me, I would head right back to Monhagen Veterinary! From intake to being seen by Dr. Hanel wasn’t more than a few minutes. Dr. Hanel was direct and knowledgeable. My pup’s symptoms responded to her prescriptions and advice.

Took compassionate care of all 3 of our Brittanys. Were now on our 4th and would never even consider anyone else! We looooove Josh. I have told perfect strangers that if they take their pets to Josh and arent 1000% thrilled, Ill pay the bill! Just the best. No other vet comes close! My dog had been sick for the last few months. I was referred to them a few months ago as I was not happy with the care I was receiving from my previous vet. Between the specialists appointments I saw Dr. Furman and Dr. Hanel. They never made me feel rushed and always explained every option and course we could take. The staff was so kind and compassionate. The receptionists were amazing and accommodating in getting my dog in when ever she needed. In losing my dog I need to thank Dr. Furman and staff extremely from the bottom of my heart for getting her in last minute, for being so extremely kind, compassionate and empathetic. It is EXTREMELY difficult time and they were so comforting and empathetic through this difficult process.

Both doctors and staff always make me feel like they LISTEN to my concerns, have time to answer any questions and really care about my fur babies and me! Going there is like visiting family. Also, emergency calls after hours are always promptly returned. Who could ask for more?

We love Dr. Furman and his staff. They are simply the BEST! We are never rushed, Josh and his staff take the time to spend time with us and our cats. He never rushes our visit.. We have been taking all of our kitties to him for the past 9 years. The whole staff was very caring and compassionate when we lost or Rosie unexpectedly 9 years ago, and they took such good care of our Graymatter when he was so sick from cancer 7 years ago. Now they take care of our kitties Gray-C and Yogi. They love Josh, and lounge on the table long after their exam is over, They dont try to run and hide. Josh has a way with animals, he is very kind and gentle and our babies pick up on that. We highly recommend Josh and his staff. Monhagan Veterinary Hospital is the BEST place for our precious pets. We have moved down to SC last summer, 2019 and wish we could still have Josh take care of our kitties but unfortunately, we are too far away to do that. This is how relaxed our Gray-C and Yogi have always been around Josh. This was taken in the exam room.

I changed vets about a year ago and came to Monhagen Veterinary Hospital. They were recommended by 3 different people I know. Couldnt be more satisfied from the moment I walked through the door. Receptionist are extremely pleasant and professional. place is beautiful. Nice fenced in yard for pets if you have to wait. But the main thing is Dr. Furman. He is a wonderful man who I knew immediately love animals. He got right down to Roxies level and made friends with her before examining her. She was a dog who had Lyme disease for over a year and was never told or treated. She is a totally new dog now who has so much energy and loves running with our other 2 pups. I would recommend this vet to anyone who has a pet that is part of your family! Never ever change Vets again after going here!!!!

I am so happy and so is my dog Nico .. Dr . Furman is an excellent vet . The staff at Mohegan veterinarian r so nice . My dog went in for the first time April 24 2020 w very itchy skin . I am happy to say the cytopoint injection helped tremendously for his itchy skin .. Nico is much happier .. My dog was showing signs of Lyme disease again and we called first thing in the morning and Dr Hanel took him in right away! He did test positive and was put on the meds right away. Within 12 hours he was back to his normal self! We’re thankful for the fast treatment provided to our fur baby! 😊

I love Monhagen Veterinary Hospital. I think Kathy is a great asset to Dr Fuhrman and his friendly caring staff. I have read some of the reviews that have said otherwise but I have always found Kathy to be knowledgeable, professional, friendly and an all-around great person and animal lover. To me it is very important that the bedside manner at s hospital be equally as important as their experience and their medicine. That is why I come to Monhagen. People here really care and welcome you and your pet with open arms. Sure it is expensive but I believe that owning an animal is expensive and a responsibility that we need to expect if we are going to be pet parents. Frankly if the hospital was very cheap I would have second thoughts as to why. My appointment with my Polly is this Tuesday and I am looking forward to seeing everybody there.

Best vet we have ever been too. Many vets are becoming corporate and getting bought out so all they think about is the bottom dollar. Josh is excellent, explains things very well and takes his time to make sure your animals are cared for. The staff is very nice and pleasant. I have had to many animals to count over the years ranging from reptiles to dogs to barn animals and have been to many vets. Very pleased with Josh and would highly recommend them to anyone else thats tired of the same old money hungry corporate offices.

My regular veterinarian was out of town when my Doberman Roxanne became ill. I called Monhagen, They made an appointment to see her immediately. She was treated, temporarily put on a special diet and made comfortable. The staff at the front desk and the vet that treated Roxanne were extremely professional, caring and very welcoming! She is limping, growling when touched, clearly has an injury to her leg/foot. Misspelled my cats name. Wrote down 4 years old, even though she is just over a year old.

The staff at Monhagen treat you like family. I first started coming here when I adopted my Molly in 2012 and they have taken superb care of her ever since. They were even there for her in the middle of the night when we had an emergency to guide us in the right direction. Couldnt ask for a better place to care for my baby.

The staff are the nicest, courteous people you will find! They treat you and your pet with respect, and Kathy seems to always remember your pet! Dr Josh is kind and caring, never rushes through an exam. He will call you personally with any test results and explain them. Whenever you call to talk to him he will personally return your call. Other vets I have dealt with have the staff talk with you on the phone and havent a clue how to answer your questions. I wholeheartedly recommend him.

Dr. Biolsi is awesome! My pit bull mix had skin allergies for years, and we had tried everything. When I switched to Monhagen they were able to help. He has been off of steroids for almost two years. I wouldnt go anywhere else.

I dont know if perhaps there is a new receptionist but the one I usually spoke with was exceptionally pleasant and patient also. I wish he also treated parrots so I would not have to go so far to have them seen.

My little Ellie (9 month old boxer) just underwent a spay surgery. She is recovering great. Very friendly place... staff is great and you can tell that they take great pride in their care. Love it here!

Dr. Furman and his staff are knowledgeable, kind, caring and professional. We met the doc at the emergency vet on 211 before he opened his practice on Monhagen and were thrilled when he took over our old vets practice. He is the best! We moved 45 minutes away and make the drive for the veterinary care of our dogs. Theres no other way to say it - theyre the best!

I have had my phone call regarding a sick pet returned late at night and even had arrangements made so that I could get medicine for our dog when the hospital was closed.They go the extra mile and do so without a fuss.Before anyone thinks that this is a BS review and clearly unrealistic, I want to address the prices at Monhagen Veterinary Hospital. I have read a few reviews where the person claimed that the prices were high. I want to be clear that while I am not saying that the prices are low, I believe that the prices are comparable to other Vets and more than fair.This may be a long review but there really isnt enough that I can say in this small a space about Monhagen Veterinary Hospital.Oh, one last thing, my family and I now live in Delaware county. It is at least an hours drive from Monhagen Veterinary Hospital and we STILL take our pets (3 dogs, 7 cats) to see Josh Furman whenever they need veterinary care.

I live about 20 miles away but would not even think of taking Ranger to a different Vet Dr Josh and his staff are aces. I recommend Monhagen Veterinary Hospital to everyone I wish I could give him more then 5 stars.

Ive been a client since they opened. Dr. Furman is an outstanding diagnostician. The medical care is exceptional, and the staff are all professional and kind. Monhagen is simply the best.

The employees at Monhagen are caring and compassionate. They gave me a same day appointment for the injured abandoned kitten that came into my life, and they charged VERY reasonable rates compared to other vets in the area. Now, two months later, Peppercorn is doing great!

The vets are great...kind, patient, and really care. The receptionist leaves something to be desired though- she can be very rude and condescending...Ive wanted to switch vets just due to her. If it werent for the fact the vets were so great I would.
