Lived here for approx 2 years. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone. Too costly for poor quality living space. You will be nickel and dimed for anything.Carpets in common area smell musty/dank. Burnt out bulbs in hallways or in outside lights will remain burnt out for weeks-months. 3 exterior lamps were burnt out for 2 full years. The dumpster often overflows and attracts pests/rodents. 5 recycle bins for the huge complex. Mowing goes untended for weeks, trash litters the ground often – especially around the dumpster area.Complex is pet friendly, which is great. However, many people don’t clean up after their dogs – the pet waste disposal areas often overflow with bags.Winter is brutal here. Drafty doors/windows, poorly insulated. The complex itself is badly cleared of snow & ice. Walkways and parking lot are never pretreated for ice – and being the complex is downhill, there are always sheets of ice. Its difficult to go from your apartment to your car safely.Apartments look nice but arent. Poorly maintained interiors – quick/cheap repairs are the norm. The walls are so thin. You hear all comings/goings of others, stomping on stairs, slamming doors. You can even hear when your neighbors run their dishwashers or showers because of the clanging pipes. Residents move in and out frequently – some apartments go unrented for months at a time. The leasing office staff is the worst part. They lose paperwork (digital and physical copies), they never answer the phones and will take days to return messages – if they return them. Getting issues resolved takes forever and will get resolved only if you stay on their case. One you’ve signed the lease, they’re basically useless. The bare minimum of notice before work will be done (if that). If you travel for work, have a pet, or are just uncomfortable with someone entering in unaccompanied. The leasing office is not very helpful about getting things rescheduled – and if you can get it arranged – there’s a good chance they won’t even show.I would advise you to look literally anywhere else for an apartment and avoid Middletown Ridge / Mission Rock Residential. I don’t trust any of the more recent ‘positive’ reviews. Because in my interactions with other residents, the feelings I had about this property seemed to be mutual.
Middletown ridge and the staff here have been phenomenal with making me feel at home. Always smiling and waving, a true community vibe. The unit was move in ready with no cleaning to do. Maintenance always checks on any concerns in a timely manner, however parts may need to be ordered… we love it here..
Do not recommend. Save your hard earned money and go elsewhere! Place is dingy, moldy and rodent infested. When we arrived, our tub was in bad and very dingy/disgusting condition. Why they couldn’t replace the disgusting tub was beyond me. The oven we had while there was awful. The carpet was steamed cleaned on the day we received our keys, so it was super wet for days.ended up smelly moldy/never fresh. The apartment was next to the stair case, people going up and down sounded like thunder. While we lived there, they claimed they were a “green” company. That’s laughable, trash was everywhere on site, the contractors they had would create messes and at times left trash on the ground. Also, didn’t realize if you live on the hilly side that it becomes a winter death trap. You do not want to be here if it ices, even if it’s just snow it melts and then becomes ice. Also, all the liability is on you, not their gross negligence for having the paving company (which sucked) come take care of it on a nightly basis.Parking was awful, definitely not enough parking spaces for the area in front of your building.Lastly, when we first lived there .a mouse or some other rodent came through the bathroom sink and chewed up some of our toiletries items. We closed up the hole it came through and it never came back, but there would be many nights that I would hear rodents through the walls. It was solidified when we moved out and saw feces all over the floor. They also chewed up some boxes we had in there.I wouldn’t ever recommend anyone here, please take your time and find a decent place to live.
I have never once written a review for any place, but Id like to warn anyone looking to follow the application process at Middletown Ridge to keep their guard up.I entered to Middletown ridge excited to find a new apartment. I am right out of college looking for a place to stay and save money before investing in owned property. Middletown ridge looked like a great place to do thisI was greeted by a very friendly leasing agent. He showed me around the property and showed me a 2 bedroom model apartment. I was in the market for something smaller, and this was understood. The apartment that was available for me was supposedly the A2 model. The leasing agent wrote the number of the unit on a piece of paper that displayed this model, and explained the features of the apartment. He went so far as to explain that the unit would have a bathroom outside of the bedroom. After heading back to the office, the leasing agent told me that I should apply for this unit immediately, because he wanted me to live there. He said that he had another client coming to see Middletown Ridge that day that had applied for the unit, and said that if I wanted a chance to proceed, Id need to send the $300 holding deposit as soon as possible. I stated this was my first time formally applying for an apartment, and asked if this holding fee was refundable and he said yes, and told me to go and pay it quickly. I proceeded to pay this fee.Later I found out that the unit that was promised by the agent was NOT the actual unit available. The square footage was the similar, but the layout was entirely different, and went against what I needed as a prospective tenant. I reached out immediately. The leasing agent assured me what was posting online was not correct and that what he had handed me on paper was the correct layout. This did not seem right to me. This occurred on a Friday evening right after I paid my fee, per his instruction.I called immediately on Monday to ask about the unit. Another leasing agent told me that the unit the leasing agent had promised was not correct per my suspicion, and what was posted online after was correct, but that a refund could not be offered because then theyd have to give everyone a refund. I was then told a property manager was unavailable to be spoken to.The next day, the leasing agent who originally worked with me replied to my email where I requested a refund by saying that he was originally going to get me a refund on the holding fee due to his error, but that since I jumped the gun and went over his head that he would not be able to do that. He has since ignored my emails.I was given completely false information. I was told that the fee would be refundable, and only afterwards told that this would only be the case if it became my deposit. Not only was this not clearly stated, but I was also told Id be getting a totally different layout, which to me should warrant a refund - I was given false information. I was then lied to by the agent, who claimed that the only reason I wasnt getting my refund was because I called Monday instead of waiting for him to get back in office on Tuesday. This is incredibly misleading. I was originally told by the assistant manager that all refunds needed to be requested within 3 days. I called one business day after I paid my deposit and was still denied. Even with the weekend between, this was less than three days. To then be told I couldnt get my refund because I requested it TOO EARLY does not make sense. I was proactive in catching the leasing agents error and somehow punished for this? This is not how business should be done.I have multiple emails saved with evidence of the previously stated situation. Any reply to this review that suggests otherwise is simply not true, as Ive seen Middletown ridge reply to reviews denying claims made in other circumstances. I want no trouble at all, I just want the money back that I am rightfully owed.
I Would Not recommend!within a couple of days of moving here, I was met with horror staying in these so called apartment homes. As with most rentals, I was shown a mock apartment which was enormous and spacious and pretty nice although they dont update their bathrooms and theres no stainless steel appliances anywhere, even though its 2021 and theyre calling this updated. The shower tile is from the 60s and the bathroom tubs creek when you take a step in them because it sounds as if something is breaking. Between that and the pictures the leasing agent sent me via email; my apartment was NOTHING like what I saw, it looked much more spacious in pictures and they said it would be something like it.As soon as you walk in theres a living room /kitchen and bathroom/ all within one view very tiny. The bedroom is on the other side of the wall. A Couple of my friends stopped by when I moved in and they were shocked also. The closet was also not a walk in but more like a crawl space....so basically they rented me a studio or attic apartment under the guise of a one bedroom apartment: FALSE advertisement- flag number oneLastly to wrap this up they also did not tell me my mailbox number when I moved in and I was not aware that there were no dumpsters anywhere near my apartment complex so I had to put garbage in my car and bring it to the one dumpster that they have. I met another new resident there and we were both shaking our heads. Also, upon move in, I Had to keep emailing the leasing agent to ask him these and other questions, he threw a piece of paper in a folder which was a map of the complex when I got there -but that was it! no more information!-And the final straw and flaw is that they moved me into a space on the third floor with one other resident who had serious issues of hoarding problems or whom was disastrously unclean and the entire Corridor smelt like ammonia!!! When I mentioned this to the leasing agent he snapped back and told me They are aware, but they couldnt do anything because of Covid.... SO, you move me somewhere basically where you wouldnt consider moving yourself?! very fake and very disengenuine. This particular leasing agent came off as very fake, nice, so watch out for that, their was a lot of strange behavior and telling me about other potential residents that complained about him on my first day there. Another flag! I had to call the regional manager to get out of this apartment although I did speak to the manager in the office who basically justified telling me that if they moved me to another apartment, they couldnt tell me anything about it because of housing laws although theyre not following housing laws by putting me in a hazardous and dirty situation. The office manager was basic. We came to an agreement financially so I could get OUT OF HERE. Waste of thousands of dollars time and energy. Everyone is just doing what they need to do to fill status quo. Lastly, someone whom I never spoke to mailed to tell me a few weeks after I left that I could not get my money back, they made up cleaning fees when I left the place spotless, so I will be calling an attorney and the department of public healthI would not recommend moving here if you have any kind of decorum and self -respect. It doesnt make sense to pay luxury apartment rent prices for dirty stairwells, outdated appliances, putting garbage in your car for one dumpster ..... theyre not honest about what they show you online etc. Its basically the sneaky salesman tactics that get you in the door, but I shouldve followed my gut instinct when I walked in and saw the dirty stairwell carpets. First impression is everything and they could do a lot more to upkeep this property. There are more options in the area. Most can agree that renting is not ideal, however until you get to where you need/want to be, you can still do better than this! I am now living in REAL luxury apartments for my money.
I had the opportunity to see one of your available units this past weekend. I wanted to take a minute to you express my appreciation for your leasing consultant, Eric Oubre. Eric’s warm disposition made me feel welcomed and comfortable. He answered all of my questions willingly and openly addressed all of my concerns in a truly understanding manner. Eric was very professional yet friendly and kind. He was truly and made all the difference in my experience. Getting the chance to work with a person like Eric makes a big difference when deciding where to live. Again, I am truly appreciative of the way Eric treated me. Thank you!
Tara was a great help!!! And the team was obviously under her expert training!!!
I lived here before it was mission rock about 3 years ago. My partner and I Unfortunally broke up last year and I of course with no hesitation wanted to come back to Middletown ridge. I called and was greeted so nicely by Eric! He welcomed me back and was looking forward to meeting me. We had few virtual tours and he was super patient and sweet. During covid things were insane already in the world not to mention a breakup so the office staff was so nice and took the time to re explain all the new things since I left 3 years prior. I wanted to come back because I feel safe here. It’s so clean! They have a company every week come and vacuum the hallways and I just noticed they shampooed the carpets in the hallways as well! The maintenance are super friendly and everytime i had any issues they were always here. Let’s face it even if it was longer I completely understand since I am one unit and we just all have to be a little patient in this world! They do a great job maintaining the outside as well. I love my little apartment. I just recently signed another year! I have no complaints about anything. Close to shops, the highways, great walking trails!
Since I have lived here over the past few years I’ve dealt with an ongoing maintenance issue with the heat/ac. Every year maintenance personnel need to come out numerous times to “switch over” the heat or ac. Each unit has control of its own temp controls and I’ve been told that parts needed for my equipment are no longer available. Each time I’ve put in requests for this to be resolved on a permanent level I never get any sort of resolution. The personnel doing the work always go above and beyond with their attempts to satisfy my issue but their hands are being tied by the management of the complex to ACTUALLY fix the problem. They also pick and choose who gets new units vs who gets a duct tape and super glue job.I gave 2 star review because there isn’t an option for 1-1/2 star review
Middletown ridge is a fantastic place to live. I have been here for 8 months now and it has been an excellent experience. Anytime I have any issue I reach out to my leasing rep Eric Oubre and he takes care of it ASAP. I can email eric anytime and know I will get a fast response and resolution to my issue. Even after hours on his days off. The maintenance staff is fantastic and I can not recommend this place enough. If you are looking for a great community and great place to live this is it. Reach out to eric and you will not regret it. He promised when we moved in to be here anytime we need him and he has followed through every single time. I had an ac issue and it was 90 degrees in the apartment on Sunday evening on a holiday weekend. I reached out to eric who was on his days off and he had a maintenance guy here within 15 minutes and fixed the issue as fast he could. Delfino and Julio on the Maintenance team are the absolute best and Eric always has my back. Very grateful for the service and professionalism I get here.
I have happily lived here for over 6 years. The staff is always very attentive, friendly, and responsive; from maintenance requests to overall property questions and concerns. The pool is awesome! Very dog friendly neighborhood as well!
My wife and I have lived here for the past 4 years. Things have really taken a turn for the worse since Mission Rock took over the building. The property manager often comes across as disinterested, rude and dismissive. You are notified of impending work the night before via email and expected to prepare immediately (i.e. moving items off your porch, out of the bathroom area, moving your car, etc.), so tough luck if you travel for work and arent home to meet their demands. While they expect you to jump the moment they send you an email, the property manager has no interest in addressing residents’ concerns. Even after sending a picture of rodent feces on our balcony we were told we would get an email response. That was over 3 weeks ago.In terms of finances and overall value, in addition to an average 5% year over year rent increase, you can also expect additional monthly fees that used to be included in the rent (water, sewer, trash and communal electricity) to the tune of another 5% of total rent costs. Also, the heat is electric, so factor that into your price comparison among comparable units. We spent an average of over $350 per month to heat a 2-bedroom apartment during the winter months. When all costs are considered, it is not price competitive with other units in the area that have gas heat and do not charge any additional fees on top of the rent. You are not allowed to have a grill on your balcony, so there used to be two communal grills by the pool. There was only one for the entire complex for the past summer. If you enjoy grilling during the summer, you’ll have to get used to waiting in line and spending more time waiting than cooking. If I could offer potential residents any advice, it would be to just stay away. There are plenty of options in the area, and Middletown Ridge is easily among the worst.
My partner and I are looking to move to CT later this year and are currently just looking around at available options. We had a great customer service experience with Eric. If you go check out apartments here, try to link up with Eric, hell help you with any questions you might have!
I had a great experience there! I had a tour and Joel was very professional and answered all my questions! The apartment is very clean, well kept and spacious. The pool is beautiful and workout area is a perfect! I cant wait to see how much more beautiful it is going to look after the renovations are finished.
These people are the worst please dont spend your hard earned money here. I was shown an apartment virtually! To come in person to see a completely different apartment it wasnt the apartment he showed me on video. Then to get my money back which Im still currently waiting for in the mail!!!! They didnt even send it off i was waiting for two weeks only for michyelle the assistant manager to email and say oh Im sorry it seems it didnt go out in the mail! Is there another address are you serious they dont care about you
The lights are bright in the hallways now and the apartment living has been the best I have had so far. Any problem I have ever had has been taken care of quickly and they are constantly doing something to bring the place up to 2019 status which I appreciate. My neighbors are cool and the management in the office is always polite and helpful. Dont use the gym as much as I wish I could but it has everything I need too which is a plus. I couldnt love it more here.
I have lived here for the past year and would not recommend living here. The apartments themselves, inside, are pretty decent. However, being located on the bottom floor, I can hear every move my upstairs neighbor makes. In addition, whenever the upstairs neighbor runs the bathroom water, it is very loud and will keep you up if you are trying to sleep. The landscaping is just OK. During periods of heavy rain, it would get extremely flooded in front of slider patios (almost creeping up to slider door). I would see lots of litter in woods behind the unit. Pool is a nice place to relax in the summer.Electricity during the winter will be outrageous! I kept it at 67 degrees and ran laundry once or twice a week and paid $330 for electricity. During the summer its reasonable.Maintenance is quick responding if a request is made. Was going to consider renting for another year but they increased the rent and I dont think it was worth the new monthly amount.
The rent is very high . And I have had experience of bathroom pod overflowing few times and lately the ceiling has started seeping some other apartment water and this is being considered not urgent for fix.To add to the above I have for the past 4 years endured sound and thud of every step of people in apartment above at all times int he day (I wonder how come they do not sleep). This has been complained as soon as I moved - without any effect. The corridor smells of cigarettes and staying with infants in this building is harmful for the air we breath in is harmful. There has been no action taken for this even after a complaint.
I really enjoy living here. Natasha, Joel, Tara, and the maintenance crew are always very friendly, efficient, and happy to assist me and my family member when we need help. Very professional and helpful!
Horrible place to live. They’re very strict which I don’t mind at all but to the point you can’t bring more that two people to your pool. You can’t have visitors over more than 7 times a month ! Where you bring your garage there’s also a mess and so much garbage everywhere there’s always some on the floor and the smell travels through out the complex. Very money hungry and rent goes up every other month! I won’t recommend this place to no one! Don’t move there ! There’s better complexes in the area !!
Excellent sales and admin staff experienceJoel and the rest of the front officemade moving easier
Great place to live for young professionals looking for nice, affordable apartments. The office quickly responds to any maintenance requests. Ive loved my time here so far!
I have lived here for he past 5years and what more can I say other then everything is wonderful from the leasing staff to the maintenance crew. In the summertime my family and I enjoy the pool the outdoor areas and the grounds are kept immaculate !
Building hallways have a strong dog smell(at least in the 7100 building). Parking is very limited, often have to park far from building if you get home after 7pm since all the close spots get taken by then. Gym is small so feels a bit crowded if more than 1 other person is there. At renewal time they raised the monthly rent by $150 for no reason besides “to align price with the market”. Doors in the hallways are very loud so you can always hear when people are coming home or leaving your floor. As for the actual apartments, they are very nice on the inside. Had the A3 floor plan which I liked the layout of. The kitchen was very modern with the counter tops and cabinets though the appliances where outdated/cheap. The windows were very drafty and the insulation of the building seemed very lacking. Very cold in the winter and the heater/AC unit was very inefficient. Expect to pay an average of $130 for electricity each month if you decide to run the heater or AC. The the few positives did not outweigh the many negatives I’ve listed above, especially the raise in rent, which was the final straw that caused me to move out after living there for a year. The staff at the leasing office and maintaince crew were friendly though.
Good morning I have been a member of the Community at Middletown ridge for 1yr .it has been the most beautiful and great experience of my life. I am so pleased with my living arrangements .the Staff is Awesome and everything that I need is in close distance. The friendship that I have received and the respect of my neighbors is remarkable .my first Winter was not pleasant because we dont have assigned parking or a car loft.but the staff will do anything that they can do to accommodate you.i love living here I am close to my son and my grandbabies which is a blessing. They are very prompt when you call the office I appreciate that so much. My first Staff I meet when I came looking is my friend and she has been such a special and helpful staff who has received a promotion well deserved what a beautiful young lady Alexis you rock.
Great experience. Very helpful staff. Timely responses to maintenance requests. Great place for young professionals.
The people who work in the office are friendly and the buildings are in good shape and maintenance shows up quick to any issues. Ive been enjoying my stay so far at the Middletown Ridge.
I moved to Connecticut about two months ago and this has been my first apartment experience. They were very understanding with our situation with moving from out of state we were not able to come see the apartment complex before renting and signing, they helped us over the phone and emailed back and forth. They were able to help in a timely fashion with all my questions and concerns, it made a very stressful situation that much easier to handle. These apartments are very spacious and nice, the landscape is always being kept up and if there are any issues the maintenance or office personal are willing to lend a helping hand. My family and I love the big pool and the well equip gym. There is something for everyone to enjoy. I would recommend making this anyones first choice to live because it is spacious, good location and quiet place to enjoy.
I dont know.
I have called several times in the last 3 days and I have not been able to reach someone. They never answer the phone or return voice messages.
Unpleasant experience. I would not recommend living here to anyone.
Would not recommend. Staff are rude and unhelpful.
Did not have a good experience here
