We were honestly not excited to live in base housing, but this development exceeds our expectations. The housing staff are great and they respond to maintenance requests within one day, and provide prompt and outstanding service. The homes are older but decent sized. If you are hedging, don’t hesitate to choose NAVSTA Newport Homes!
Beautiful thats all I can say
Great personal service!
Though I hate Rhode Island, I’ve been here for a year and I love the community and my home, maintenance is always on point! Thank you!
We have been highly impressed with this Balfour Beatty! They are prompt in returning calls, making and keeping maintenance appointments and do an annual inspection of the homes to make sure all is well. I can call if I have a quick question about how something works and they don’t seem to mind. They also do a great job of maintaining the playgrounds here.
Worst customer service we have ever dealt with for a military base housing. The houses are very old for what you pay for, but thats to be expected for the area. The maintenance guys are are very nice and helpful, but the maintenance secretary or whoever she is JUDY should not be working there. She is so rude and needs to work on her customer service when dealing with residents over the phone. I dread calling maintenance to schedule an appointment for something to get fixed because dealing with her is a waste of my time.If you have a choice to live out in town do it..
The houses are a bit old, but front office team are very nice and very prompt when i call for maintenance. So far we are very pleased with our home.
Wonderful neighborhood. Homes are a bit outdated from its navy days. Lots of impractical designs.
Maintenance staff is top notch. Single family homes are dated. No parking for two cars. They offer parking lots for trailers.
Recently I tried to get housing here, and the experience was horrible. My first encounter was marvelous, the girl who answered the phone was super helpful answered all my questions and promptly sent over the application. That is why I gave it one star, for her. This is where the downfall begins. I called again asking about housing where I was transferred to someone else, she told me I could get certain housing by the time i needed, I just had to fill out the application immediately. I did just that, I paid $32 for overnight mailing. I got a confirmation the next day from the postal service that it had been delivered. So I called to ask if they needed anything else, They claimed they never received it.The following day, I called again, eager to start the final process. During the call I found out that my application was incomplete. The initial reason it was incomplete was because I had no land lord Recommendations, I went to an undergrad for four years where housing was given, they said that it was fine and I didnt need it. The second was being a law student, I had to have my father as a cosigner. When I asked before they told me I just needed an application for myself. The man who answered was very rude, constantly speaking down to me, Eventually after he put me on hold for the fourth time, I found out I needed to do another application before going forward. I told them I would hand deliver this one so we could go over if I missed anything else. I told them living out of state and working a full time job, I could only make the weekends. They said that it would be fine, someone would be there and I could see one of the properties. We agreed at 11 I would come, I also told them I was flexible because Ill be there all day and could meet anytime until their closing. I called a couple more times asking questions to make sure I was filling it out correctly. Each time they either spoke down to me as if I were an idiot or a child. If I didnt get ahold of them I would leave a message, That they would never respond.Saturday morning comes around, and I left at seven in the morning on my only day off to drive four hours. I see a couple other properties and get a feel for the area. Eleven oclock hits and I arrive. I told the women I was there to drop off rest of my application. She rudely exhaled, while rolling her eyes and irritably said, Cant you see Im busy. The other family that was with her was pulling away, and she was locking up the leasing center. I apologized and told her I would be back in an hour. I got lunch down the road.Exactly an hour later I returned. The door was open so I walked in. She greeted me and I told her why I was there. We went over the Application, she took it and said it was fine. She took another $50 application fee, so $100 dollars total now. The sass didnt stop until she saw my dads pay stub. After that she was extremely nice, I told her I needed to move in by august, and by latest September. I was fine with living in a hotel for a month. She told me that there was no housing available except the most expensive. I told her to continue with the application and to give me a list of every available housing for august. Before leaving she told me I would hear about my application by Monday.I decided Monday I would have an answer for all of the properties I saw. This being the number one housing. Monday came around and a couple hours before closing I called, and called, I left messages both times. Tuesday I received a call while at work and the message stated, that my application was still incomplete. I had to make a decision that day or risk not being able going to school. I decided not on this agency. I still have no idea what the properties look like, and I’m out $132.
Geographic Bachelor Housing Program here is horrible! No air conditioning, dated, rooms, rude staff, old appliances, broken dishware, and youre paired off with strangers because the staff is too lazy to pair you with individuals you actually want to have. Find a place out on town. Trust me, this is 16 years of naval experience talking.
Good
Staff is always so nice and maintenance is so understanding and helpful when we have a problem!
Great place for first-timers
