Greg the owner is really nice! I called and asked for an oil change and he said come on in. Usually you have to make appointments in advance for this, but he was so kind to let me come right away. They got the job done so fast I was shocked. Id be coming here regularly for my car if I lived here but I live in Brooklyn. I definitely recommend having this shop as your go to mechanic.

We are relatively new to the area and as anyone knows finding an honest mechanic is not easy. We found our place and its GT automotive. They do high quality work at very fair prices. One of the things I like the best about GT is that I can do the research and buy the part and they will install it for me. So no worries about having the part price inflated to increase the bill. The only downside is that they are only open Monday through Thursday, but thats a small thing when you are getting honest quality work. I highly recommend GT Automotive!

GT Automotive are my go to guys (and gals). Two years ago, when I first went to them right before a big road trip, I told them in my naive youth charge me whatever you want but I need to make sure this car is safe to drive 1000 miles. They could have made anything up to make a quick buck but when I picked up my car they said all I needed was an oil change. And thats when I knew....Since then, I take my car to them for everything and I recommend them to everyone I know. They are super friendly, quick, trustworthy, and always get the job done. Engine light was on and was told nothing to worry about so I had alot of other repairs done on my car. I was worried that it was my transmission. He said nothing major so spent alot of money on repairs. After spending alot, the transmission went out!!! I took car somewhere else to put it on machine and said it was my transmission going out. So all along GT new my transmission was on the way out but let me do all the other repairs so they can make some money and they did! Very dishonest owner. Will never be back and I have spread the word!

When I moved to New Orleans over a decade ago I didn’t know any reliable places to get work done on my car. Above and BeyondJust got my 2002 Toyota Highlander back from GT Automotive. They did everything I asked them to do and then some. Not only did they complete the job in a timely manner but I feel the prices were reasonable for the work performed. Not only that but I got the SUV back looking strangely much better than when I brought it in. I asked Greg if they had cleaned the tires (which I remember still had some spillway mud on them) and he said they had done not only that but had cleaned the rest of the outside too! What an unexpected and pleasant surprise.So, for all the above reasons, I know where Ill be bringing my vehicle the next time it needs fixing--to the professionals at GT Automotive.

I have been using GT Automotive for a few years and have found them to be reliable, exceeding good at repairs and very trustworthy. I have gone there a few times expecting to have replace certain parts only to be informed that no, I didnt need to spend all that money on the parts, that it was another (invariably less expense) problem. Weve been bringing our cars to GT Automotive for many years and have always gotten very good service. The work is always professional, knowledgeable and prompt. They take the time to explain and show me what needs to be done and why. I often get same day or next day service. Greg and the guys are always courteous and polite, with a friendly greeting when you arrive. And when I picked up the car recently after a brake job, I was pleasantly surprised to find they had cleaned and vacuumed the car after completing the work!

These guys are absolutely, hands-down the ONLY ones I will ever bring my Jeep to (if possible). They dont overcharge me or upsell me anything I dont need and they dont treat me like a girl who doesnt know anything about cars. I love them!

As of the writing of this review, I have had my oil changed twice at GT Auto. This is the only place I will go to get my oil changed in the future. Price is competitive. Service is super fast. Very knowledgable but will not try to up-sell you. Most importantly, however, the owner, Greg, is an honest, God-respecting man whose number one business priority is take care of his customers. Whether you deal with Cameron at the front desk or Joe or one of the other guys in the garage, you will be treated with kindness and respect. Great customer service and reasonable prices. I needed my cars A/C fixed in a hurry after it went out suddenly and these guys were able to get me in the next day and had the repair completed the following day. They were very friendly and willing to explain in detail the issue and answer all the questions I asked without losing patience or making me feel stupid for asking. I typically am distrustful of mechanics but these guys made a supporter out of me. I recommend asking for Greg if you stop by for the first time.

They fixed u-joints on an old truck we acquired. They were incredibly quick and honest. It cost about $40 less than what the total quote was because of the labor time. Any other mechanic would have had no problem leaving that 30 minutes on there because I would have had no idea. They also let me know exactly what else needed to be done with the vehicle. No hidden fees, amazing service, honest, and good prices. They have gained a new customer for as long as theyre around.

I usually change my own oil because Ive had the wrong oil put in my car before, but I had to have someone else change it for me one day and after reading reviews for several places, this seemed like the safest bet.Its been almost a year and I still bring both of my cars here for oil changes. They never take too long. Theyre courteous. When they note an issue, they tell me the facts (what it is, how much it costs), but say, Do you want us to fix this? in a tone that simply leaves it up to me rather than You should fix this or else (terrible things) will happen. I appreciate not being scared into purchases and being trusted to make my own decisions.I check the oil before and after its changed and its always been done right.Other notes:Women, feel safe bringing your car here.Music is Christian. A friend suggested it for my Honda as he had always taken his Honda there and found them reasonable, honest,and efficient mechanics. Well, I can say the same thing. I met Greg at a business networking function and decided to try them out for a minor repair. And I have never left to go elsewhere since. Greg and everyone that works at GT are experienced and super friendly.I put a lot of miles on my vehicle for work and have found the Royal Purple oil change is well worth the extra dollars. I trust Greg to give me the right answers and a fair price on my repairs and he has never let me down. When I drove in one day with the mysterious rattle in the back seat problem that no one could find and explain, Greg and Joe got right to it. I expected them to call me silly and send me on my way. Not the case at all ..... come to find out they discovered thru making some calls that the back dash of my Honda is known for this issue and ordered some insulating material to control the noise. The noise is gone now and Greg will always have my business as a result. I do consider him a friend but more importantly he is an expert technician.

This place was recommended to me by some friends that have gone to this shop for at least 15 years. Greg (Service Director) was great to work with. He and I took my car out together so that he can hear the issues I was hearing. He did his best to understand my concerns. I had my front breaks fixed which has helped the sqeaking significantly, although some of the squeaks remain. The next day I got a pleasant call from the shop asking me if I was satisfied with the repairs. I told them about the sqeaking noise that remains and they suggested I drive my car around this weekend and bring it back in if Im not fully satisfied and they will do their best to take care of it. Im impressed with their level of professionalism and care. As a woman who knows nothing about cars, I have been burned in the past at Midas. This place is not like that. Honest work done by honest workers.

In response to Lee Wellington,When Lee came into our shop the second time, for the same problem, he informed us that he had erased all the codes making it difficult for us to diagnose. We advised him that he had a serious electrical issue with his vehicle but he insisted on us taking a look at it, even after we recommended for him to go to the dealership. He also said that he was in no hurry to get his vehicle back, and for us to take our time looking it over. We then spent several hours trying to diagnose the problem but could not resolve this issue because they did not occur while at our shop. We also had a friend of the shop, with a GM scanner, come by to assist us with diagnosing the vehicle, and it was his recommendation to go to the dealership also. ( Keep in mind, the second time he brought his vehicle to us for this problem, we spent many hours on diagnosing the problem, free of charge) All of this was clearly explained to Mr. Wellington. We are extremely sorry that he had a bad experience at GT Automotive, as we strive to treat all of our customers like family and provide the most honest, quality automotive care possible.

I have been bringing my cars to Greg for years! I will drive past 5 quick oil change shops to get to GT and get my work done quicker than if I stopped at the closest one. I made the mistake of stopping at one of the others a couple years ago for what I thought was a front end alignment to get a $500 quote for a bent tire rod?? I had GT drive me to the other shop to pick up my vehicle and bring it to them for a second opinion and I am glad I did. There was nothing wrong with my tire rod, there was a simple $100 issue that Joe took care of and had me on my way. $400 dollars in savings and honesty won them a customer for life.Honest, Affordable and Quick

I bought a lexus RX 300 that wouldnt start in the mornings, tried a new battery and brought it to 3 different mechanics, including Pep Boys and Firestone. Plus a couple of local mechanics. I was recommended by one of the places to try G/T Automotive, within a couple of hours he found what the problem was. I absolutely love the service and staff at GT Automotive. Greg is very helpful and always answers all questions that I have. I work for 7-5 so was not able to take my car during working hours. I was able to drop off my car the night before (they have a key drop) and pick up my car that next night. I was even able to pay over the phone. I also told them over the phone that I thought I would need new breaks because they were squeaking so badly. When he called me back to pay for the oil change he told me they looked at my breaks and there was some wear but they definitely did not need to be replaced. My sister, brother, and roommate all take their cars to GT Automotive now and we have all had wonderful experiences.

Since I know next to nothing about cars, the most important quality I look for in a mechanic is someone I can trust. Greg Roberts is that “someone I can trust.” Recently, I was about to go out of town with my family and we would have been traveling on tires that were on their last leg --- might even have had a blowout! GT Auto is a great value, and they work with a lot of pride and integrity. I use them for everything on my Dodge Caliber: oil changes, throttle problems, air conditioning, anything.I tried another company to diagnose/fix my AC once, when GT was booked up. Actually, we tried them twice - because they couldnt figure it out the first time. Once my AC failed a third time, I decided to cut my losses and get back to GT (even if I had to wait in the summer heat). Gregs team was much more thorough than these other guys, and they found some damage on the condenser that was causing the system to leak. The other guys would have been happy to keep recharging it!Thats when I realized how expensive an amateur can be. Go to GT Auto to get it done right, the first time.

They were very willing and able to help me solve an intermittent problem my car was having shifting out of park. Their rates were more than reasonable and gave a complete break down of the price.

Highly recommend this place. Greg, the owner, knows how to run a business. Their customer service on the phone was exceptional, they were inviting and gave informative answers to questions. I was concerned I couldnt wait till the next day to have my vehicle serviced and the owner even recommended a place that he thought could get it done same day essentially forfeiting my business. Their prices were competitive compared to local Metairie/Kenner businesses as well. Also, the price quote given to me over the phone was without taxes and upon checkout I was upset because I didnt realize the quote didnt include taxes, but the owner took the $50 off due to the misunderstanding. That never happens. And unlike most automotive places, their waiting room is pleasant. They even had a Keurig. The reps (Jonathan to name one) was very welcoming and kind as well. Im so happy to finally find a mechanic company I feel is trustworthy, fair, and ethical.

There are certain businesses I have frequented that I immediately knew I would end up being a loyal customer, and GT Automotive was one of them. Owner Greg Roberts and his talented technicians are a class act. Kudos for the fine folks at Automotive Diesel Service (Freddie & Tom) recommending them to me. Having been there multiple times now, I feel I can honestly give them the 5 star rating I feel they deserve.My first experience at GT Automotive was for a check engine light and malfunctioning fuel gauge on my wifes SUV. Unfortunately, the diagnosis wasnt what I wanted to hear, as the fuel level sensor and fuel pump were malfunctioning. And like most newer cars, the fuel pump is in the tank, which requires dropping the tank to replace the fuel pump. Anyway, they quoted me a very fair price, and got the job done the same day.My second experience was a few months later for the same SUV, as the check engine light came on again. Gregs diagnostic equipment was telling him it was the anti lock brakes. Luckily for me, he has a great rapport with a local Nissan dealer. At no extra charge to me, a factory Nissan technician visited his shop with a Nissan scan tool to provide a second opinion. It ended up being a loose connection to the anti lock brake pump and all they had to do was crimp the wire to secure it. I got an oil change while I was there and I was out the door in a few hours with a bill that was less than $100.00. Whew!My most recent trip was for a Royal Purple full synthetic oil change for my car. For all you gear-heads, Royal Purple oil costs over $8.00 per quart in a retail store. However, GT Automotive changed my oil with 8 quarts of Royal Purple oil and a Royal Purple oil filter for under $100.00; including labor. Furthermore, I asked him to inspect my brakes and change them if needed. Being the honest mechanics that they are, they advised me that my brakes had 40-50% pad life remaining and that I was good to go. Lastly, they didnt even charge me for the brake inspection. Thats what I call looking out for your customers.GT Automotive uses top of the line parts, lubricants and fluids. We have been using GT for over 10 years. As a woman, I have never been talked down to or told things I cant understand. In fact once, I brought my car over with AC problems and after inspecting, Greg told me to take it to the dealership because it should be under warranty. He saved me hundreds!!!! Without this honesty, he could have just done the work himself and I would have been clueless!

I have a 2008 chevy truck. It only has 52,200 miles on it. For the second time I brought the truck for a stabil-trak servicing issue that causes a major reduction in engine power. I dropped it off on Thursday nite December 21, 2017 of course the stabil-trak issue had not reappeared. Had a note trying to explain what led up to the problem and another issue with the EAV sensor. Called that Friday after not hearing anything, and really got vague answers as to what was being done. I rented a car that Thursday night to run through the weekend and Christmas. Now after Christmas I did not hear anything. I called, they stated that the guy with a better scanner needed to look at it that was Tuesday. Wednesday came and went nothing. Thursday called them they stated that they were trying to get the guy with the scanner to look it. After about 3pm I got sick of it told them I was going to pick up the truck and pay what ever the bill was. My wife went by and paid for it, and was told it was still on the rack and it was missing 2 panels that Greg could not find them. I think he was the owner. Greg told my wife I could come by Friday and he would put them on. He also told her if he would have known I had a rented car he would have gotten on the guys ass. He stated that I could setup a meet the the guy look at the truck. Gee I work for a damn living. So went back got the panels put on with the stabil-trak now screwing up the truck. Now there was no charge..they did not do anything, and what if I did not tell him about the rented car would he not got on this guys ass. You would think that he would be on his ass once the truck was in the shop to get him in. Better yet invest some money in a TECH 2 or MIDI and traning for you people (9,000 or so). He needs to tell people he cannot fix computer problems because he does not have the proper equipment. Sadly disappointed in this person...really you need to remember a bad review gets 5 times more coverage in the market. I had never had a business owner treat me with such disrespect. And to return a vehicle to a customer that is missing parts whether or not it affects the performance of the vehicle is not the point. SUCH DISREGARD FOR YOUR CUSTOMER, I have already let the person know who recommended them what happened. He was shocked, and questions why they did that.

GREAT SERVICE...GREAT PEOPLE.....HAD BROKEN WINDOW REGULATOR, CALLED GT AUTOMOTIVE AND HAD WINDOW FIXED THE NEXT DAY...THEY ALSO PERFORMED COMPLIMENTARY SERVICE CHECK WHILE WAITING FOR PART TO ARRIVE. THEY ARE MY NEW MECHANICS...!!!! THANKS GT....

A little expensive but do good work. Never had a problem with them.
