I love this place because its well managed, maintained, and the activities! Plus they have great military rates for the retired military family! Boom π₯ this is a great place for a peaceful swim too!!!
Ross Farnsworth is a great location. Friendly staff, clean facilities, and with what you get, reasonable prices. Highly recommend it!
Love this gym. The staff is awesome and really get to know you. Courtney and Jack are awesome there and make me wanna come daily. I have had some issues in the past with upper management but have stayed because these 2 make me feel like a million bucks. Try this place out you wonβt be disappointed!
I am from out of state and my membership was not ringing up. The gal at the front desk was awesome and found me in the system and explained what may have happened in a way that I am able to go to my other YMCA and get it fixed - meanwhile allowing me to attend. Great customer service that was greatly appreciated.
We came for the free safety swim lessons they offered. I found the parent tot class to be really fun for my 15 month old and informative for me - Kylee is really knowledgeable and friendly. The desk staff are hit or miss- Roberta is awesome! Pretty expensive joining and membership, so I decided not to join after our free lessons were up. Minus another star for their website frequently being down.
I signed my family up here for $50 initiation fee plus $85/month. Within one week I realized this facility would not meet my needs. The free weight area is very small and lacks several pieces of equipment that are very customary to most gyms. In addition, the equipment they do have, including dumbbells, there is only one of. Which means if someone is using a pair of dumbbells or bench press, you have to wait. Not a huge deal by itself, but frustrating when considering the limited equipment. Also, a few of the dumbbells have gripping that is loose so its uncomfortable to grip, and a couple sets of dumbbells are have considerably different handles, just another weird thing that makes it feel like a low quality setup. Lastly, when I asked to cancel after only one week, not asking for a refund of the $135 I already paid, but simply asking not to be charged another $85 the following month since I was only one week in, I was told I had to discuss my request with the manager, who apparently only works 10-5, which is when Im already at work. After calls and voicemails over a two day period, I finally hear back via email and am told I need to fill out a form they have at the facility... also would have been nice to had been told when I asked on site. Ultimately, this manager decided to waive that 30 day clause for me, but the entire process and communication was just very cold and not at all what I would expect from an organization like the YMCA. I still believe I. The organization, but definitely would not recommend anyone support this particular location until the management is changed, process is updated, and better customer service techniques are included in their training materials and expectations of employees.
We have had an awesome experience at this YMCA, the facility is clean and the staff is friendly and helpful, our kids enjoy going to the childcare and we have loved the preschool age classes and swimming lessons they offer. Would definitely recommend!
All the essentials you need, and never over crowded. The staff is friendly, especially Roberta the sweetest lady. If youre looking for a smaller family gym, this is a great fit.Update: 7/3/2019 . The staff notified me guests are complaining about my loud grunting while squatting 400lbs+ and hip thrusting 600+lbs. People seriously need to toughen the F up if something like that makes them uncomfortable. Going forward ill be training in my backyard where if my neighbors call the police about loud grunting thell laugh and tell them to grow up too.Once again this is a great family gym.Definitely not a high intensity gym,as loud grunting will intimidate the guests, living on cloud 9.
The night staff is rude, the kids club was closed early, we had to wait for someone to come back. The front desk guy ignored me for the longest time hoping I would leave Iβm guessing. The teen room was stinky and had nothing for the teens to really do. It was just mostly a semi empty room. The workout area upstairs has no flow and is over crowded with big equipment but even then seems to be lacking some essential things. The kids care didnβt have any real activities other than occasional crafts. Over all I would not recommend getting a membership here. It is not kept or cleaned well. And pretty much sucks witch is a huge disappointment because itβs such a nice and big building. The website pictures are very misleading.
I joined so that my children could get swim lessons ($160 for 8 semi-private lessons for 2 kids) and access to the pool ($70 monthly membership fee). For the second year in a row, I have had difficulty getting a competent instructor. I was billed for the lessons in April. Times have been scheduled and the instructor doesnt show up. The first two lessons in May were no shows by the instructor. I have attempted to speak with management regarding the issue. The Director of Aquatics, Lee Miller, did not return my phone calls. I had to go to the facility to speak with him (June 1). Once I explained the issue, he told me he would get approval from his supervisor and that a credit would be applied to my credit card. By the end of July, still no refund. I called on July 28, August 6 and August 10 and got voicemail. No one has returned my calls. Customer services is horrific.
Thanks to all of you who posted reviews. Whats going on at this facility????? Im in town visiting and wanted to go to a local Y. I looked at thier hours and the reviews and thought, Really, are you kidding? I want a response from the owner. Why have you not responded to the posted complaints???? Do you not care???? Not responding makes you look even worse.
The televisions on the equipment dont work. Youre lucky if you get one channel to work. You also cant watch anything on your phone because the wifi doesnt work. You have to use your data. They change the pool schedule without posting any signs. Ive been going to this gym since it opened about six years ago. I need to find a new gym.
Ive been going there for like 5 years and I love it! Very clean and friendly staff! Lots of equipment! Worth the cost!
Mostly a waste of time! Even though Im only paying $13/mo with my Medicare plan Ive seen better places advertised for just $10/mo. I started going there to lose weight but there doesnt seem to be any way to do that. I got a tour of the place initially but since then Ive just been on my own and not sure what to do. I tried going through all the workout machines and I can do more reps now than when I started but it just makes me hungry so Ive actually gained weight since I started going there! It has what looks like new, modern equipment but the pool seems to be closed most of the time when Id like to use it like in the afternoons. The hot tub has always been broken and Ive never seen a time when the rock climbing wall was ever open. On the plus side its neat and clean and not too crowded but that might be because there really isnt much there to do thats of any value. I stopped going because its a ways to drive and mostly a waste of time.
Nice clean facility; however the pool hours are awful! Group fitness Classes hours arent much better. Nothing offered during the day in summer really unless you have little ones.
Nice people and nice gym, but Ive gone twice on Sundays within posted hours and it was closed. You also cant use the pool on Sunday because its closed. Pretty frustrating experience if you want to use the facility on the weekend.
Nothing wrong with the gym except it only has one benchpress bench and is much too hot. It is at least 5 degrees hotter than the other ymcas in the valley. It isnt just the second floor either. Not sure if their thermostat doesnt work, someone in management is too cheap, or the front doors let in too much hot air.
Ross Farnsworth is a great facility if you are single, elderly or can work around their crazy hours. I tried using their childwatch facility but the kids that worked for them have no experience with children. They want to sit on chairs and engage their coworkers not the children. The cardio area half the machines are out of service. The weight area is unattended so people abuse the equipment due to lack of instruction on use. One young man there is incredible, his name is Steve. He is the best person in that facility. He will be the only person we miss. I truly hope he goes far in life. Avoid this facility at all cost. There are too many options here to settle for meridiocracy.
Not a lot of classes, pool hours arent great, and not open year around. Staff is rarely available for fitness training info, and many are just not very friendly.
They have a great swim lesson program over there and the instructors are friendly and helpful.
Has everything you need. If you know what youre doing and dont want to be overwhelmed with a lot of other people or crowds, this place has what you need; machine weights, free weights, cardio machines, heated outdoor pool, clean locker rooms, showersβ¦β¦ what more can you ask for
I am here twice a week for JR Suns basketball with my 8 year old. The gym is always clean and well scheduled.
This club is a rip off they took $85 from us after we had signed up and wanted to cancel the next day because when we got home found out the kids club did not fit our needs. One of there employees even claimed to be the manager and later we found out he was not but gave us a refund slip.A couple days later we get contacted from the membership manager Angela with a huge email with legal jargon stating she wont honor what her employees signed. Obviously some operations issues that need to be addressed. WATCH OUT!!!
If you are a MPS employee you can get a discount! And it is an awesome gym for people that dont like gyms.
Wish the basketball court had more space to sit and enjoy the game
Pretty clean facility, friendly staff, the classes are great, and there are lots of free weights. Free memberships for ATSU students!
I visit this Y when I visit Mesa. Good workouts and wonderful layout. Mn visitor.
Awesome gym with great staff!!! Just to many people sometimes cant use any machines
Its a gym with equipment. Front desk is super nice and helpful, but its still a gym that is expensive.
Group classes are poorly scheduled and frequently interrupted by the following class. The place is dirty and front desk help often rude and unfriendly.
Nice gym and friendly staff.
Clean and affordable community gym!
Clean family friendly workout environment
Friendly staff amazing facility
March 31,2014..mens bathroom not maintained.Today February 28th, 2014 they did not open on time as they only have one person open and if that one person is late oh well. 1st gym that Ive seen that cant organize themselves enough to open on time.
Not a real place
