This place is very clean ...not as crowded as other gyms (one of the reasons why I move to this gym) have pretty much everything u need ...they just opened the sauna !!! Super excited about that ...this place also have several different classes u can attend to ... equipment looks new and very well taken care of ...they have a pool and jacuzzi! So super nice prices are reasonable
I had a blast here! I was in town for a week and went to their gym pretty much everyday. They have everything youβre looking for, from a pool, to lifting equipment and even racquetball and basketball. The staff was cool and the whole place had a really great vibe. Iβll definitely be back when Iβm in the Phoenix area.
This particular Esporta in Mesa never fails me. Amazing gym & employees, make me feel more than welcome & not to mention the cleanliness atmosphere every visit. I would just like to take the time to express my gratitude to the entire professional staffing team from the trainers like Luke & GM Miguel for always making sure we have an amazing experience!!!! Definitely recommending this location to family & friends. Keep up the Great Work!!
Been going to this gym since it opened. Great place! I take full advantage of most amenities especially the racquetball courts. If you want to get in on a pickup basketball game, this is the place. There seems to be a sense of community at this location. Iβve been to others, but drive by the one near my house to go here. Staff is super helpful, especially Miguel. I highly recommend it! Very clean throughout, and this locationβs layout is perfect!
Worst experience ever.... staff rude and just horrible.... I wouldnt recommend this gym especially the Stapley location to anybody. They do not return calls and when they do get around to it days later they give you a lame excuse that it was your phone not working.I would give this location a -5 star review.... Horrible....
Been going here for years now and never had an issue with hygiene with this place, which is a big concern nowadays. Staff is always willing to say hi, machines are kept in good shape, and the locker room stays clean. Cant really ask for more, great gym.
My name is Lee Gray today i was greeted by Kurt...Miguel and Naomi at the Stapely and University Drive..Mesa ...Arizona...Esporta Fitness. They have excellent customer service skills. Upon working out i noticed the employees keeping the equipment sanitized especially after a gym participate exited the machine. I am very pleased with this establishment.
Great gym, really close to my house. Only thing I would changed would be the hours, wish it was at least open until midnight. I get off work late sometimes and itβs kind of a drag having to go to the Riverview location to get a workout in
I love this location but recently I notice that the club is crowded pretty much all the time and most of the machines are occupied. Get rid of 9.99 membership and increase the fee or extend the whole club .
PLEASE GET A HIP THRUST MACHINE and more updated equipment. That is all this gym is missing. Having to find a place to even do solid, heavy hip thrusts is a chore. Front desk staff is friendly. Good gym overall. Just please, hip thrust machine. More updated equipment.
Nice but pricey but far better than other gyms
Today I worked out at Esporta fitness gym Stapley and Mesa Drive I was greeted by Miguel Kirk and Naomi excellent customer service him I worked out with my mom on the treadmill and I noticed as other gym participants finished off a certain machine an eSporta fitness employee wiped it down immediately itβs very clean very sanitized and I am so happy to belong to this establishment
Excellent place they are very supportive and understanding thank guys and girl
Great gym, front desk is nice and personable! Cant wait for the jacuzzi and other items to open up again! Covid closure is no fun!
Guest privilege is advertised as a perk, but they make your guest sign in every single time with a number and email so they can spam them into joining the club.Way to advertise a perk and instead use it as a funnel to annoy people into memberships.
Fully open include jacuzzi and sauna. Beautiful.
Very nice staff and facility, highly recommend
Definitely one of those gyms that packs on hidden fees. Be very aware of the fine print. So tired of places not being honest.
I lβ€οΈv being a longtime member for la/esporta fitness
I wish I can give this 0 stars. Rude service. Waited almost a month to cancel because the person to cancel is never there turns out anyone can just cancel. 25$ cancelation fee. Salesman getting personal and asking whats going on with your life, why do you need to cancel? Dont waste your money on a failing company.
I went in today and was welcomed with a kind greeting explained the regulations due to COVID and ensuring members safety. I then proceeded to meet with my intake person Chris and he went over my history my goals and things that I wanted to work on and improve. Let me tell you as someone who has had miserable experiences with numerous gyms and ultimately always felt like another number he worked with me for over an hour answered my questions provided guidance and encouragement and pushed me without breaking me down! I would and will recommend this gym and this trainer a million times over he is amazingly kind intellectual and knowledgeable and doesnβt make you feel bad for not understanding everything. They didnβt push me to to sign up for personal training in fact by the end of my session I was the one asking pricing and availability to work with Christian Blackhawk I am beyond excited to meet my goals with the help of a gym that is so well kept clean encouraging friendly environment and overall amazing!!! If you want a trainer theyβre all great Iβm sure as I continue to meet people Iβll post more reviews but Christian Blackhawk is the real deal yβall from a big girl with goals feeling important and guided my names Samantha nussbaum and you can seek me out if you think this is a fluff piece Iβm speaking honestly.
Health is wealth βΌοΈ
Very friendly and helpful!
Employees need to walk through gym, periodically, to ensure members are wearing their masks properly.
Love this place better than any other sports club has great yoga lessons treadmills are best pool is great showers hot cant beat it VIP 14 day guest pass all my friends get but I guess theyre too lazy to use
Good variety of work out equipment and plenty of space, for a variety of health and fitness activities for both genders and all age groups. Its not just a weight lifting gym. The leg machines are great for my knee and joint issues. They have equipment for all levels of fitness. The pool and large aerobics room is a big plus.House keeping is a big and constant challenge for a large facility.
This was a great place to work out very clean people were very friendly had a really good workout
Great staff and clean gym.
My first walk in was great. And every one after that. I toured around the gym accompanied by a very nice lady. Sat down with her to sign papers to join the gym. Asked if there was a way to find out how to use the equipment and personal training was her response. I signed again for personal training, no problem with that. It was a real straight forward experience. It is a gift, a strong impression of knowledge for me to be trained as someone looking for physical wellness. Stapley/University location.
Im in WA for two weeks and they have no clue what esporta is. So I cant use their facilities. I cant wait to be home and get my flex on at my AZ esporta.
Great gym, especially for the price.
Nice clean place
I went there because I have insurance that pays for a gym membership. But then I had a smooth talking so-called personal trainer explain to me how convenient a membership would benefit me and the different discounts I would get. Never mentioning that hey you can get this with your free membership and we could add this to it know that when it right out the window... Im just telling you this to say; always be aware always
Dope experience. Nice gym a lot of machines. They keep sanitizer and spray with paper towels so you can wipe it down.
Ive been going to this location since I was nineteen, and honestly, its pretty good. Nice variety of equipment, good hours, plenty of room. And also very courteous staff members who do their best to help accommodate my various disabilities, including autism and PTSD. Its definitely a disability-friendly facility and has been for many years. My biggest issues are with its members. Mostly due to an absurd number of times Ive seen weights left all over the place, slamming weights, and wearing so much fragrance I can smell them from the opposite side of the gym. Fines or warnings for lack of proper gym etiquette need to be put in place for when they re-open.Overall, Ive very little to complain about and it has been a great resource for me for many years.
Unfortunately I have to update and give this place 1 star. Members are walking around with chin diapers (masks around their chin) and member services will tell them and then walk away. As soon as they leave the masks come off. When Ive brought it to the attention of the members the district manager approached me and told me I cant do that because Im making people uncomfortable. So... They arent doing their job, they dont want members to do their job for them, so I guess Im really confused what this club is looking for outside of money. Because they arent taking safety seriously at all. I had to tell the janitor numerous times to cover his nose. The district manager appears to have issues with power and control because he had no other answer than to continue to tell them when members arent wearing masks. When I told them they havent been doing that and brought it to his attention that that is his job to be mask police not me as a customer... His answer to me telling him to do his job was to tell me Im being disrespectful to him (seriously?) .. just embarrassing. My takeaway from that conversation is not only did he want me to do his job for him (I wouldnt be able to workout if I told them every time someone was walking around without a mask. It would be after every set), he apparently wanted me to pay for the privilege of doing his job for him. I would be incredibly embarrassed if I was asking my clients to do my job for me. Can you imagine hiring a personal trainer and then them telling you to create your own workout plan? π I asked him to talk to management and apparently hes the district manager so... if hes the manager of all the clubs in Maricopa county I will give my money to another gym. Im actually paying double to go to eos but at least Ill be comfortable.Essentially if you are a patron that doesnt value the law or safety this gym is for you. If you want respect and safety? Eos is on gilbert and McKellips and now I understand why all the regulars have migrated over to there. If they paid people to be the mask police they wouldnt be be losing members.I should also add in this review, that the gentleman I asked to put on his mask completely took off his mask and shouted in my face droplets going everywhere and I was the one that was talked to. From my understanding, they appear to care more about the feelings and comfort of the people breaking the law than the feelings and comfort of law abiding citizens. That says all you need to know about what this establishment values. If all gyms in the valley get shut down again you can probably lay some of the blame on the management at this establishment because all everyone has to do is wear masks and we can get through this pandemic but unfortunately people have unresolved issues that they need to deal with. Its really disappointing because this has been my home gym for 4 years. Prior to covid the staff was excellent the facilities were clean member services were polite weights were re-racked. Now the place is filled with maskless idiots and management that... Doesnt appear to be terribly interested in enforcing the law.Management appears to care more about short term money and power than health. Im concerned for the welfare of the shareholders if that is what this establishment is now valuing. I will update this review to 2 stars if they refund my year membership Ive already paid.
Anibal and Dante, actually everyone there was terrific! Friendly and no pressure. I wish I had this gym back home.
Ive never seen a Pool and steam room be down so much at the location on Rio Salado and Dobson Road. The treadmills are slim and few and far between that work decent. The ladies room its disgustingly dirty all the time shower area is filthy. Great lighting great assortment of different areas to work out in and a huge area of machines that have barely any waiting.
When you get a membership there make sure you dont let them talk you into having a personal trainer because they literally bullied me so I can have a trainer made me feel fat thats not right
Its cool
I love this gym. Aqua aerobics on Tuesday and Thursday nights Lee teaches. She is a great teacher! She also teaches at a few other LA Fitness gyms in town. She is Cynthia on the schedule but goes by Lee. The rest of the gym is also great. Other classes, weights, and staff is also top notch!
Great gym. They have everything you need to work out every muscle.
LA Fitness turned Esporta... Its ok since the change BUT the obnoxiously loud, trendy POP music HAS TO GO. It is so irritating! On the bright side, the cleaning gal is doing an awesome job.
This gym is roomy, quiet and the staff are polite. Everything at this gym is awesome. The only reason is that I gave it a 4/5 is that the basketball court is dirty for the most part. Dirty as in it needs a wax like asap. Its slippery and the guys there tend to clean the bottom of their shoes with wet paper towels to remove all the dust that they accumulate while playing. Besides that it wouldve been perfect!
Some buffoon thought it was a good idea to let Panda Express setup a booth right next to all the equipment. Smell made me so nauceaus, what is this planet fitness? What a huge let down for the brand in my opinion.
Got my air pods box and car keys stolen all in an hour. Didnβt notice that my keys were gone until I got into my friends car and realized they werenβt there and that I took them inside. All this happened right before closing and I just knew I was out of luck. Definitely will try to call in the morning if anything happens. Wouldnβt recommend coming here.
Ive been to different gyms and other LA Fitness locations and this one by far is my favorite one. All of the employees are very nice and friendly, and I am very pleased. John the manager is very polite and professional. Under Johns leadership that gym has an impeccable team. The gym has a good, positive environment and free of negativity-the way a gym should be.
One a LAs better locations. Its got a lot of space and the machines dont feel on top of each other. A large selection of machines and during mid day while Im there easy to get the machines and equipment I need. This is a good LA Fitness
Ive been attending this club for a few years now, sure it may not be perfect, but this is why in my opinion 5 stars are DESERVED. One, its close to work. Its like my second home how often I go there. And its a good location for most people. Two, how open the layout is. Sure equipment gets worked on. People are people and its a gym. Sweat is inevitable. Machines need repair and cleaning at times. Dont be afraid to clean things yourself. And three, customer service. Since Ive been here they never hesitate to give people a welcoming greet and smile. BIG in my book. Especially on those rough days. Theyve always been trying to keep up with the needs of its members and the club, which is rough and no easy task. What Im getting at is for a health club theyre pretty awesome. Its been through a few managers since Ive been there. Right now the manager, Dee, is turning things around for the better. Shes more than willing to help members with whatever they need. Got a question? Got a concern? She, like get staff, are on top of it! Like I said. Awesome staff!
My first time there! Signed up for the $24.99 membership.
The front staff is very welcoming and always great me when I walk in. Thats a big thing as someone else pointed out. Could it be cleaner? Could there be more of space for free weights? Yes to both. If you go at off hours and not during the 4-7pm rush, you can get a decent set in.
Its a nice big gym & a nice big locker area. I do only water exercise currently so only use the pool area which is, which is nice. Seems to have a good selection of exercise equipment and exercise classes. Staff is courteous.
The gym is good and what you would normally expect. I have worked with probably 20 different trainers over the past 10 or 15 years. Joseph who is one of their master trainers is by far the best trainer I have ever worked with. Very intense and pushes me.
The rebranding to ESporta is great, more machines and free weights and redesigns. Much more better and reasonable now.
The kids club at this gym is absolutely amazing. I drive over 20 minutes to attend this specific LA because they are so good with my two year old. The staff is great and always up and walking around. Way better than the Riverview location.
An actually large gym that isnβt dominated by cardio equipment! Free weight area is very spacious and has quality hardware. Hard to find these days. Trainers donβt poach you for sales, hallelujah!!2 squat racks, 1 power rack. Bunch of benches (varying angles). My favorite LA so far
Our family is thoroughly enjoying our membership. John, the general manager, patiently explained all our membership options in a very professional relaxed manner and helped us choose the best membership for our family. It has been fun to go do our own thing or attend group classes together. I appreciate the professionalism of the instructors, management and staff.
The best gym I have been to this far. Good equipment, friendly staff, and a good fitness culture all around. My only complaint is that the bathrooms are not the nicest.
Literally the best gym Iβve been to.Itβs clean, the employees are friendly and itβs not so crowded like other gyms. Like the fact that I donβt have to be waiting to use a machine or chance me routine.
I love gym, wherever I go!!!
Esporta has RUINED LA fitness. The turf is unnecessary. The layout doesnt flow well. Theres a lot of wasted space when other areas are very crammed. I have no clue what the saggy nut sacks are about. The basketball courts are now used for classes instead of what its for, basketball. The internet does not work anywhere except at the front desk (selfish).Of the 4 new locations Ive been to, they all are the same, Dysfunctional. I will be considering other options in the valley and suggest others do as well before signing up here.Nothing is made for anyone under 5 5. Not a girls gym AT ALL.Turn the music/advertising down!!! Its so loud! I understand why but calm down. Jeez!
The 2 male janitors are kind and extremely helpful. The staff is accomadating and friendly
I am able to shower in this gym because I know it is a no judgement zone. In fact I feel more comfortable showering here than in my own home. The showers are clean and the staff does not look at you while you are showering. Itβs eyes forward no funny business and thatβs what I like. Five stars for a no nonsense, safe showering situation where I can shower relaxed knowing that nobody will look at my private areas. I will return to this location! I wish there was a six star option because I would give it six stars!
I have been a member here for more than two years. Overall it is okay. Sometimes, their classes werent on schedule. This morning I went to join a yoga class. I came late and saw many people waiting inside the room. There was no instructor. I told a lady at the front, and she said she would check on it. She came to the room and said she didnt know the instructors phone number.??? I think people were waiting for almost 15 min. This was not the first time. Last year, it have happened at least three times within six months for yoga class. They should have been more attentive. If there is no instructor, put a sign on!! Let us know in advance and dont disappoint us too often, please!!!Hope they would improve their service.
Since the change from LA Fitness to Esporta the music is ridiculously loud. Not only is it an annoying playlist but it includes commercials that are even louder than the music. Bring headphones if you decide to keep your membership.
Good gym, clean facilities. Price is reasonable with available machines, pool, spa, sauna, basketball court, squash, yoga studio, spin bikes, and free weights. Plus, membership can include all other LA fitnesses.
Lots of weights and machines so even when its packed theres plenty to go around. Really enjoy the class options. Most of the staff is A+, theres one or two every now and then that are blah but the great customer service from the good ones makes up for few bad apples. Plenty of parking.
I went into LA Fitness yesterday to see if the negative comments were true about the gym before I signed up for a membership. When I went in, I was looking for rude staff, a run down facility, and a dirty locker room. I found the opposite. The gym has been remodeled and is a beautiful facility. The womens locker room is clean and the pool is amazing. The machines have individual T.V.s on them and everything looks new. The gym is spacious. I worked with John Vargas who gave me a tour and was not pushy with his sales pitch. He new what I was looking for and did not drive me away. He was friendly and the staff was friendly and helpful. Before judging this gym, go in and take a look for yourself.
Came in to try out for a 5 day guest pass. Jon Vargas set me up and provided top notch service. Went through all of the options available and found one that best suited my needs. After that, I setup my complimentary fitness assessment / training appointment with Kristin B. She addressed all my problem areas in a positive manner, made sure to check if I had any injuries that could cause a problem and provide solutions to make them better. All in all they treated me well and took care of me. A+ gym
This clubs pool was amazing. I think they use salt water, though I could be wrong. I didnt smell any chlorine in the pool area. Very nice gym.
Iβve never written a complaint about this location but I have to be honest, I have experienced this problem more than a few times and canβt understand why. The Class thatβs used for many different things had a problem again last night with the thermostat. Was like walking into a freezer π₯Ά. I have gone up to the front counter to tell them itβs freezing inside the classroom but they apologize and do nothing about it. Itβs a Zumba class that I attend but why are my hands going numb while Iβm trying to get my workout on? Another time I can remember walking into the classroom during summer and itβs so HOT π₯΅ Iβm not talking hot as in no A/C, Hot as in the heater was on so high someone had to prop open the classroom doors to let out some of that heat that was trapped inside. It was like walking into a sauna. Again, they did nothing. Management needs to work on these issues and not tell their members they canβt do anything about it.
I started going to this gym 7 years ago when it was 24 Hour Fitness. LA Fitness bought it out (3 months ago). Things have gone down hill! It was nothing fancy before but it was clean and comfortable with friendly staff. Now the place is FILTHY!! They never clean the machines or the floors and the locker rooms are gross! The staff there really arent helpful either - they used to say hello and have a good day, now they barely make eye contact. They used to have a little pro-shop there - now its an empty gaping space. LA Fitness is driving this place into the ground. Sadly, the other LA Fitness clubs Ive been to arent much better. I miss the old 24 Hour Fitness!
Still pool work to be done but the staff is amazing!
Gym nice clean and the best part is that the trainer would train u for an hr to show u how to do the workouts right
Awesome place! Very well maintained facilities and equipment!
Ive been going to the gym for about 3 years now. Its close to home and for the most part its great. I never feel out of place or looked down upon. I love the classes they offer as well. Some of the equipment is becoming dated and probably in need of replacing. Its fairly clean as far as gyms go. I had a bit of a hard time trying to change my personal training sessions..and was mislead at the beginning of the training sessions. All said and done though, it is a pretty good gym, lots of different machines and plenty of room
DO NOT get personal trainers CHRIS and DAN they will steal from you I say this because of a personal experience they stole from me 290.00 dollars and when I tried to get my money back theyβre boss totally denied it I just warn you so you donβt go thru the same stress I did. They come friendly at first but they will F you over.
This is a clean facility. They keep the equipment in good working order. And the price is reasonable.
Rude staff.... I donβt think they janitors...bathroom always gross, a piece of paper or trash can sit on a machine 3 or 4 days before picked up.Yuck
I left LA fitness a year and a half ago and just started back up. Day care was awful before and is even worse now. I may have to figure out how to make it I without my kids. Five days back and my kids ask to go to the other gym I left already. Even my two year old who shouldnt know the difference. They do not say hi when we walk in, they do not ask my name or the kids names. Super unfriendly. The girls sit in their chairs and do not interact with the kids at all. Just expect them to be perfectly self entertained so they can sit and chat. Unfortunately I need a pool and this was the cheapest option.
I love it at LA Fitness. I know they are expensive but its worth it. They can get busy but they have more then enough machines to work into your workout of someone is taking a machine you want. There are cheaper gyms but they are always busy so the time. I find it hard to workout under those conditions. Some locations have different equipment as well. Do it helps to take advantage of that membership and visit other LA locations as well. All Im all Im a proud member and I enjoy getting my workout in.
After months of being told a juice bar is going in, still nothing. The place is kept decently clean, however, the place is in need of a remodel.
We go to the gym to work out and get on with our day. LA Fitness provides everything we need in a gym but would love to know when the exercise stations became texting stations. if people are resting between sets, why do they just sit and get carried away in their own little worlds oblivious to everyone else?
Great layout. Usually not too busy. Clean gym.
Has everything you need for a good price.
Great looking chicks workout there.
Great environment and alot of fun working out there and playing some ball there
It is one of the better LA Fitness centers I have been to out here. Rarely, is it busy, its decently kept clean, and you can actually find the weights you need.
Never had an issue. Mornings are great. No meat heads taking up all the machines. Sorry everyone I didnt pay the high start up fee and dont pay the ridiculous monthly price as some do. Im grandfathered in since my crontract rolled over from the other gym.
Never been to down town Chandler and was pleasently surprised. This place had some sort of game night going and everyone was into it staff was great and for a bar the steak salad was GREAT
Grate place to exercise great people and the worker are very helpful, just wish the price were cheaper. π$$
Over the friendly atmosphere. I feel safe here.
04/07/2016:I had to update my review after speaking to Nichole S the alleged location manager. After speaking with her, all I can say is UNBELIEVABLE. I could never have imagined someone so inept at her job. She lacks any type of customer service skills, has no ability to lead people, let alone to run a facility. I wouldnt let her run an outhouse. During the course of our conversation, she basically blamed me for the ongoing problems at HER location. The blame was on me because I didnt physically go to see her during HER BUSINESS HOURS or at least call her to inform her of the issues. I informed her I spoke to Jonathan V on several occasions about the issues and that he told me he was going to bring it up with his leadership. Yet, it was still my fault for not going to her directly. Not HER FAULT for keeping the lines of communication open with her team or HER FAULT for not enforcing a policy that dictates she be made aware of any issues with members and terminating employees who do not follow that policy. In her eyes it was clearly my fault for not going to her directly to inform her of the problem - AT A TIME WHEN IT WAS CONVENIENT FOR HER!!!I am thoroughly appalled at LA Fitness for keeping a manager that clearly lacks customer service skills. There clearly is a huge problem at this facility compounded by the poor oversight by a region manager and corporate executives at LA Fitness.Since I am to blame for the problems at the Mesa/University location. Let me step up and do something about them. Nicky and Johnny, in the words of Donald Trump YOURE FIRED!!!! Now, let the customer service begin!Original Review from February 2016:Horrible customer service at this location. I have been to this facilities 5 times for a workout. Four of those times, I have experienced horrible customer service. One time an employee at the check-in desk was obviously on a personal call when I was attempting to check-in. Not only did I have to wait for her to put her friend on hold, but I had to wait for her to turn around to even notice someone walked in and was waiting. Another time the lady working the desk was on what sounded like a work related call. She just sat there and stared at me while she was rude on the phone with the individual on some type of medical waiver for the gym. She finally figure out she could take my bar code and scan me in while she was arguing with the individual on the phone. Then last night, I had to wait to be checked in because everyone was in the sales area chatting with each other. I made eye contact with several individuals over there, but gossip took priority over clients. To top off last nights adventures, one of the guys cleaning the floor just about nailed me with his arm and a mop as he was cleaning the floor unaware of his surroundings. I am sure his music blasting in his ears just added to his attention for details.Bringing up these issues with Jonathan V (sales guy) I just got a Sorry with no action. He didnt even tell me he was going to do something and just never do it. Before I joined, boy was he attentive attempting to call me several times and several emails trying to get my business.I believe most of this issues revolve around a very bad facility manager. He/She doesnt have a clue on how to lead and train people, let alone run a gym. The manager really should be fired! LA Fitness needs to hire someone that can manage the facility and train the staff on at least rudimentary customer service skills.Overall the facility is fairly clean, but the locker room was filthy (at least the mens).Just dont expect anything after you sign up.
I spoke with a sales representative about a bad experience at another location. He was very thoughtful, polite, and listened carefully while resolving my concerns. It feels good to have salespeople who take the time to do this. Thanks.
This is definitely my favorite gym! Caring and attentive staff make all the difference.
This company uses a deliberately complicated cancellation process. You have to go in person and quit with the operations manager. There are several managers but only the operations manager is authorized to process a cancellation. The other managers can sign you up. If the elusive operations manager is not in, they just tell you to come back later. This gets old very quickly. They wont help on the phone, and they only send email, they dont accept it. This is not a breakdown of a system, this is a system designed to inconvenience and frustrate you, and functioning exactly as planned.I purchased a month to month membership so it would be simple to cancel. It was still a huge hassle. After cancelling multiple times, but continuing to get my card billed, I cancelled my credit card. (they tell you, your account is cancelled, You think that was simple, but next month you get billed and no one knows anything about your previous cancellation.)Today I went in in person and was a huge pain. I would not leave until they signed a letter verifying my cancellation, and that I owed no money. I dont enjoy being difficult, but it is the only way to quit. It is time consuming, and frustrating, because if you are cancelling your membership they want to make it a tedious and frustrating process. The gym is great, as long as you NEVER need to cancel.I now train at another gym. I had no animosity towards LA Fittness until it became clear, they will do,anything, including lie, to keep billing you. Bear in mind, I had a month to month,no commitment contract. I was not attempting to break a contract. When causing frustration is part of your business model, you will soon be bankrupt.
Red head front desk guy was a jerk, dont appreciate how he treated me and my friend. Other than that the staff is typically helpful and the classes are great, also no bumper plates so if youre looking to deadlift expect a lot of dirty looks as you slam the weight.
I had a training session with John. He was great. Friendly and really was focused on my goals.
