Vilma is a “find” - one I wish we had discovered sooner! Her level of attention to our son, in and outside of her study sessions, has been impressive. She has helped him help himself by increasing his “toolbox” of ways to approach every section of the ACT in order to level the playing field given the speed of the test. Her ability to teach each child in the way they need is her “superpower” earned through her experience and an innate talent. We highly recommend Vilma.
Excellent!! Vilma is an absolute treasure!! She is brilliant, motivating, insightful and truly cares about her students. Vilma gives personal attention above and beyond anyone in her field. She has been a creative problem solver who is leaving no stone unturned in the process of helping our son learn.
Vilma made ACT prep so much more manageable and insightful! She brought up my composite score 5 points, and increased my English and Reading scores by 7 points each! Even through zoom, she provided an informative and positive environment.
Vilmas experience and available resources combined with small group format were a perfect fit for my sons ACT prep. He appreciated the amount of practice and insight he gained regarding the ACT from Vilma. The test taking strategies he learned from her greatly boosted his confidence and results when taking the test. I am now planning to sign my daughter up for Vilmas class.
We are very blessed that Vilma could help our child prepare for the ACT. She provided invaluable guidance and advice.
Ive really enjoyed working with Vilma. She taught me many helpful tips that improved my ACT score. I went up 14 points in Reading, increased my composite score by 4 points, and earned a 35 on English. She was fun to work with, and I would highly recommend her when preparing for the ACT.
Through Vilma’s tutoring my ACT scores have improved greatly! She gives personalized attention and focused feedback. The strategies she teaches are easy to apply and practice. I highly recommend going to Vilma for ACT tutoring!
Vilma is an amazing tutor for ACT. She is always there to help when needed and is very professional. Highly recommend signing up for her courses!!
Very helpful and increased my act score to my desired goal.
Vilma spent 30 minutes with me, showing tips on how to improve my GMAT score. The tips were quick, easy fixes to problems that have been stumping me for weeks. Once I retook the GMAT, I was able to increase my score by 90 points! Vilma not only helped me with the test but was impactful in me getting into graduate school.
Excellent teaching, outside the box thinking and insightful hacks and shortcuts, creates an efficient and results oriented prep school which is almost guaranteed to get you results the results you strive for on the ACT.
Vilma is amazing. Her expertise in ACT work increases student confidence and most importantly, skills on the test. She is always encouraging of students and truly does what it takes to get students to meet their goals, providing your child puts in the work. When your child works with her, they will meet their goal. She is a great motivator for students that arent always the highly motivated student that parents wish they may be. Vilma has a great blend of education and counselor skills in her work with students. I highly recommend her to others.
I can NOT say enough about Vilma Abrahamer! She is THE BEST OUT THERE! My daughter has worked with Vilma both face to face and via Zoom meetings. Vilma is beyond effective in ANY setting. Vilmas ability to get high school students and their individual personalities is amazing! Vilma cares SO deeply about her students and connects with each in a professional yet personal way ensuring that they understand what she is explaining and trying to teach them. Vilma is a MASTER at teaching how to increase your ACT score! It is absolutely amazing what she can do with her students! Vilma is equally effective via Zoom meetings. My daughter has commented that while both in person and zoom meetings are SUPER effective, she likes that when she works with Vilma 1:1 over zoom there are NO distractions and the 1:1 focus is exceedingly helpful! I cant say enough about how amazing Vilma is as a person, a mentor and an ACT tutor!
I definitely recommend taking her class if you are struggling with the ACT or just want to prepare in general. The work environment is super comfortable and fun to be apart of. After taking her classes and learning the tips and tricks of the ACT, I have seen myself improve greatly.
I did some private tutoring sessions with Vilma after taking the ACT and scoring well even without studying. My score improved by 4 points after 4-5 sessions. Vilma was very helpful and she gave great tips for success! Be prepared to use her tutoring as a guide in your own studying separately to achieve as high a score as you possibly can.
Vilmas small classes and individualized sessions helped our daughter reach her goals with confidence! She is a wonderful wealth of knowledge and prepared her for each section of the test. She tailored the sessions for their needs and it empowered them to do their best! Amazing results! We couldnt be happier!
If you’re thinking about having your child take an ACT class to prepare them for the upcoming test, I would highly recommend Vilma. She is awesome and really connect with the kids. Not only has she helped my son with the preparation for the ACT class, she has also prepared him for school in general. She is a great teacher and really takes time to help kids. You can tell she is very passionate about each and every student she works with and really helps them succeed. My son really enjoys working with her and looks forward to going to the classes.
Vilma is an incredible woman who will quickly become your best friend. She will always be there for you both academically and emotionally. Her tutoring strategies are clear and easy to follow. In my personal experience, I improved by seven points on the ACT when using Vilmas tips and tricks.
Vilma is an outstanding tutor and wonderful person. My kids enjoy attending her one on one lessons and cannot wait to learn new things with her. My daughters testing scores have improved dramatically since starting classes with Vilma!
I would highly recommend working with Vilma! She is incredibly helpful and I even improved 5 points! Her teaching style is really helpful and I really understood what I had to do in order to achieve a higher score!
Vilma is the real deal. Our sons overall ACT score improved 5 points after sessions with her. Before his first ACT test, our son took ACT Prep Classes offered through a local rec center and although they may have provided a good foundation for understanding the test and his score wasnt as high as we would have expected for him. Vilma really knows and prepares her students with great test-taking strategies and ensures they understand them. When its our daughters time to prep, Vilma will be our first call.
Vilma is the best ACT tutor ever! She has helped me so much and I highly recommend her to anyone taking the ACT in the near future!! I never wouldve gotten my score up without her help😄😄
Vilma is such a nice lady and is super encouraging while we worked together! This class changed my outlook on my schooling and where I would apply to college. I went up 5 points on my overall ACT score; this class is top notch!
Vilma is the beatbox ACT tutor! She is very helpful and is such a kind person. She has a great sense of humor as well. If you are looking to improve your score definitely come to Vilma:)))
Vilma is an outstanding ACT prep tutor. I would recommend her to anyone as she offers amazing services in a relaxed and supportive environment. Thank you, Vilma, for teaching me how to take the test and giving me the best tricks that I will apply when taking the ACT.
So happy we found Vilma. She was truly instrumental in my daughter improving and achieving her goal on her ACT. Thank you!
Vilma is an amazing instructor who gives the best tips on how to do successful on the ACT. She gives out the best advice and strategies that truly help you while studying and taking the test. I highly recommend that you to take Vilmas class. She is not an ordinary ACT instructor because she gives you the most important tips that you need while elaborating on all aspects of the ACT at the same time.
Vilma is an excellent and intelligent tutor for the ACT. She not only helps with the ACT, but the skills she teaches transfer over to other subjects at school. She helps each individual that comes in for help, and we all couldn’t thank her enough!
Vilma doesn’t only teach you to take the ACT, she also teaches you test taking skills. I just had my first AP Biology test and underlined the stems of the questions without relieving, and got an A on the test!
Never would have expected to have my ACT score jump 5 points composite and 3 points in writing after working a few short months with Vilma. Came to her with motivation and an open mind and in return I get to relax knowing I have a college ready score by my junior year!
The lesson goes by so fast because she makes things so much fun! my son cried as I stood astounded. He was recounting what he had learned during his second lesson with Vilma and I marveled at the his ability to recollect everything with a level of detail, excitement and passion for learning that I hadnt seen in two years! He was only 8 years old, but by second grade his ADHD had made school and learning a painful and disheartening experience. His teachers though well meaning, were trained to teach to a certain type of student. Children like my son, who do not fit that type were at a disadvantage, not only for learning, but for recognizing their own intellectual gifts and potential. This is one of the many things that makes Vilma so special. Her extensive training along with her deep empathy and caring for each and every one of her students allow Vilma to recognize a childs learning strengths and help them to unlock there academic potential. Vilma helps students to (1) identify the ways in which they best process information (2) see their own learning style as unique and valuable and to (3) advocate for their learning needs with educators. In so doing, she not only provides her students a safe place to learn, she helps them to develop skills that will help them both in school and in life. Before seeing Vilma, my son thought of himself as bad at school and dumb. After working with Vilma for only a few months, my sons grades have improved, his academic anxiety has lessened, he is learning to advocate for his academic needs and he now refers to himself as smart. Although hed had other tutors in the past, Vilma has been the only one able to hold up a mirror to my son and help him see his true academic potential. Certainly this is the job of any educator, but in my experience the ones who can truly accomplish it are quite rare. My son is just a third grader, so he is not anywhere near ACT prep territory just yet. But when that time comes, he will be working with Vilma. I strongly encourage you to take advantage of this ACT prep opportunity for your child. I can assure you that with Vilma, their learning will be in the most capable of hands.
He learned many new strategies for test taking and increased his previous score by 3 points.
V is for Vilma. Fittingly, V is also the first letter in Versatility, Vanquish, Victory, and Valor.Vilma is for Versatility): My brother and I are both students of Vilmas. The stark differences in our life circumstances, character traits, and reasons for seeing Vilma illustrate Vilmas versatility (in reality, we only partially illustrate Vilmas versatility My brother is a high school student who struggled with academics to such a degree that attending college, prior to seeing Vilma, was but a remote possibility.Conversely, I am an elementary teacher in my early-thirties with Aspergers Syndrome--a mild variation of Autism Spectrum Disorder--open to growing as an educator, though struggling with certain procedural aspects of my profession, while also attempting to earn my teaching license, which is done through a lengthy, time-intensive project known as the edTPA.Effectively addressing our considerably different needs requires proportionately distinct skill-sets, expertise, and experience. In other words, two different experts, one equipped to aid individuals like my brother; and one equipped to aid individuals like myself. In actuality, my brother and I do not wholly illustrate the extent of Vilmas versatility, as she has students who range from preschool to adult and special needs to gifted & talented.Despite these significant differences, Vilma is able to instinctively pinpoint what, where, and how we, her students, can improve, through personable, efficient lessons, encouraging her students’ input when appropriate and directed when necessary.Vilma is for Vanquish: As previously mentioned Vilmas students seek to improve in various overarching facets, usually related to academics, or in my case, my profession. One of the reasons Vilma is so effective is that, instead of solely treating our overarching needs as a series of single, unrelated struggles, Vilma seeks to devise, with the active participation of her students, macro-strategies addressing the root(s) and causes of our needs. For true, lasting improvement to occur—in other words, the start of being able to truly vanquish our struggles—the root causes must be addressed; the fact that we actively participate with Vilma in finding these solutions, increases our confidence when facing our struggles, as well as our proficiency in applying these strategies where ever and however they manifest.Vilma is for Victory: Vilma’s wholistic approach, which not only addresses single difficult moments as they arise, but, more importantly, addresses the overarching reasons that these moments arise, leads to increased confidence and increased success. My (aforementioned) brother, now a high school senior, just returned from a national college tour, excited for his future, due to the range of colleges he now may choose from.Vilma is for Valor: Though Vilma be uncannily versatile, effective, and dedicated, her most outstanding quality, by far, is her genuine desire to see her students improve as human beings. Vilma does this implicitly through her servant-leader approach, and explicitly by engaging in discussions with her students aimed at instilling confidence, a heightened sense of communal responsibility, and greater attention to the vulnerable, where ever and whenever we might encounter them. As a teacher, I have become more mindful of my more vulnerable students and sensitive to each one’s boundless potential for greatness.
I love coming here and I recommend this prep class.
