I love this place! Dom and Joey are very sweet and patient, love the conversation with them. They pay very close attention and are very gentle and want to make sure that it looks good and that you’re happy with it. I highly recommend to my friends and coworkers and I have already got some hooked.

I really wanted to like this place, but there are a number of factors in play for me to give such a low rating. In order of importance:1) Public Health. I am used to going to VN Nails which has ubiquitous masking, plexiglass, free hand sani, and temperature checks. I know this is a high bar and I should have asked VIP when I called them what preventative measures they are taking; I should not have assumed it would be this high.VIP nails is a family business and I like this, however, no less than 10 minutes after entering one of the family members returned with lunch. Around me everyone (except my technician) began removing masks and walking around me as they prepared to eat. At this point, I felt like a trapped animal. I didnt want to leave in the middle of the service but it is inarguable that unmasked people roaming inside was going to create a risk to me. I politely mentioned to my technician at the earliest stopping point that I live with someone who is vulnerable, and that the masklessness worried me. She asked the members of the family to remask and take the food to the back. I appreciated this and felt better.Once they returned from eating though, three people remained inside watching a movie with their masks pulled down to their nose. At this point my acrylic nails were being painted and I felt both trapped and a nuisance to have to bother this family to follow basic public safety protocol to wear the masks as intended.This lassiez-faire attitude toward masks indicates to me that likely before I arrived, this kind of mask wearing was the norm. I was probably sitting in air with particulates from the people around me as they are unlikely to observe masking when customers are not present or bothered. Unfortunately, this is a deal breaker for me as public health and safety comes first. I was tempted to call the local enforcement authorities about my experience, but decided not to because I could tell it is family-run and I know small business is struggling.2) The actual nail service. I got an acrylic fill with gel and an add on. The selection of colors and add-ons is impressive, and had it not been for point #1 (public health concerns), this place would likely have become my favorite place to go because of the selection. The service was done adequately, but my nails were not fully filed to smooth edges and so I did some clean up when I got home, which was annoying. Overall, however, the shape, color, and quality seemed good.UPDATE: 2 weeks later and three acrylics had broken. I have never experienced this kind of breakage before. I feel the quality was lacking in the end.3) Location. This is really close to my house and the Pick N Save with lots of parking. Again, such a shame that masking isnt taken seriously because it is way more convenient for me than my regular salon.Overall, it was a bad experience marred by concerns about hurting my family. Had there been more complete mask compliance, my rating would me 4 stars (since I did have to do a touch-up when I got home). I may have not needed a touch-up if I had examined my nails as I usually do before leaving, but again I was stressed out about the environment. Once this pandemic is over I would consider giving it another shot, but until there are indications that public health and mask compliance is taken seriously I sadly will not be returning, no matter the selection or how convenient it would be.

At vip nail, you are in and out, the ladies Rose n Tiny are Amazing, Joey does the pedis. He is very professional Ohhh he cuteLOL The music is great. Prices reasonable.

They always do an amazing job, and my nails last a long time! Go to rose if you want your nails done, shes amazing!

First time ever getting my nails done and it was the best experience Ive ever had. Tiny was awesome, professional and extremely nice. 10/10 would recommend. Other employees were also extremely nice. Very laid back atmosphere, definitely will be coming back again!

They fit me in last minute after I called three places that couldn’t. Pleasant conversation, friendly people and quick service. Loved the reminder to put my jacket on first, and only wish they had some fresher color options. Super inexpensive

I love the VIP Nail shop. Tiny is FABULOUS!!!!!! She is always Cordial, Funny and very Professional. I am diabetic and has issue with dry skin collecting around my Nail beds and causing toe pain. Tiny is the only person I let work on my feet. For several years ...never had any problem with infection or anything. She is always in tune with her customers and always makes sure they are happy. Thanks Tiny for the wonderful job you do every time!!!

Really loved and enjoyed this place! My review is a bit late because I’ve been extremely busy after getting my nails done from here, but I would love to say that the employees and nails are all so awesome! I’ve heard that some people have had problems from this place years ago, but new ownership has taken over and the new takers are amazing! Everyone is so friendly and funny, I had a really great time. Don’t hesitate to come due to previous reviews, you won’t regret it! Would definitely come back to get my nails done again!

I loved this place, the workers were a bit rude but I didn’t take it too personal and kept coming back, one of my nails came off and right underneath my fingernail there was mold, it’s disgusting. This place is good but I would not go back risking more fungus and infections. They also charge you if you come back after 2 weeks which I find ridiculous, no place has ever charged me for coming in later than 2 weeks. There are so many better places to get your nails done, don’t come here and risk getting fungus. This was my last straw

Talented staff and terrific service. Keep up the great work!Note they are booked tight! Appointments are almost always required, and clients who arrive late will likely lose their spot. This is not unreasonable! I see some walk-ins and most late arrivals leave in a huff. Thats not VIPs fault.

I had the most horrible experience, the old lady was so impatient when doing my nails,my 2 fingers got hurt and started bleeding and I told her but she never even bother to say sorry and she was too rough 😭😭

Polite and to the point. It was my first time getting fake nails and I loved them. The practitioner was open and honest when discussing shapes and I am happy that I took their expert advice. The nails were well buffered, shaped and aligned (except only one that was off by a hair of a degree, so only I noticed). Will definitely go there again.

This nail salons has been a part of Madison for the last two decades. They are a community stakeholder and a thriving business. I was in a big rush and the technician and I spoke about it and she was able to recommend me the best most affordable service that I could have gotten given the time I had! To me that is what customer service is about coming up with a solution that helps us all!

I never not once asked for a refund just wanted Kim to be aware of what happened but was called a lair. Mold takes 24-48 hours to grow and becomes visible by 18-21 days. The set of acrylic nails had only been on 10 days then got a acrylic fill which lasted a 8 days before two nails came off reveling green spots. TAKE the time to use a nail file machine to file off any of the acrylic that has lifted and replace with new acrylic to prevents a small space that causing mold to grown under nails. 6 out of my 10 nails had green spots will be treating my nails and growing them out.

If you can’t book with tiny don’t go I repeat DONT GOTheir response to me was “just don’t come back You’re not welcome.” NEWS FLASH I never planned on it and I found a way better nail tech and eyebrow tech. My last manicure lasted 41 DAYS! Good thing I liked the color! They have been awesome in helping my cracked, winter fingers heal with their professional trimming and nail advice. I literally tell EVERYONE to go there!

I have lived in the Madison area now close to 3 years moving from the New York/New Jersey area. So my expectations are high when it comes to a good nail salon! Finding this place was a God sent! They do a fantastic job along with great customer service! The prices are awesome. I can get a fill acrylic and pedi for the price of a fill of acrylics at most places! Very happy customer!!

Had a very poor experience this evening with a pedicure but a gentleman from VIP called me and offered to completely redo the pedicure and make sure its done correctly. Very appreciative of this and excited to give this salon another try :)

I had a very relaxing pedicure that felt good and looked great along with a pleasing manicure from Joey. I appreciated his skill, attention and professionalism. Wonderful visit in a friendly atmosphere.

I was going out the country and went in right before they close to get a full set and a pedicure. At first I was told they could only do my feet being that it was almost closing time, but he stayed and did my fingers also. I was super happy and appreciate them going above and beyond for me. I will definitely be returning to this place.

I have seen Mai for a few years now and shes great. The nail salon is filled with very nice people.

The new VIP nails is no where near as good as the old VIP nails. It more expensive and the quality of the nails they do is poor. I just got a manicure and the guy that did my nails cut my finger three times and polished my nails as good as my little 8 year old sister wouldve. But the guy that I believe owns the new VIP was able to fix it for the most part but still charged me for the full cost.

The lady was very rude. She made a comment about my current nail polish being nail stickers which I told her 10x that they were straight up nail polish that I did myself. She wasnt going to listen. She complained about how hard my polish was to get off, then she was in such a hurry to stuff her face that my nails were crooked and mishaped. I had to have my sister (a professional nail stylist) fix them. They even mocked my sisters ability to do nails, but while it takes her a few hours to do them, they come out looking 100x better than these people. Then again, theyre always rushing to finish nails because its like theyre on an assembly line. They change owners every week and its never the same people in the salon. I think I will stick to waiting for my sister to have time to do my nails than drop 50 bucks on nails done in shitty haste, thanks.

Went in March 2020, rude workers as soon as you walk in. I just wanted my dip nails taken off and they gave me attitude and basically denied me. Not going back.

Came here with my step daughter and when we first walked in we was greated but not in a professional way. The owner I believe seemed really rude at first to the point we almost wanted to walk out. I asked her was she ok and she said she was fine. She then perked up a little bit so that was a good thing. My step daughters nails turned out great but a couple of my nails where crooked which I was dreading because I had gotten them done from a different shop and wineded up having to have a soak off which takes forever. I asked for rinestones and they turned out not right. The glue used cause them to be very dull looking and not Shiny. Need more practice with that area. I may or may not come to this shop again. If I do, im hoping my experience is different and I will update my review. They should really work on being nicer to customers here. Im shocked at some of the responses from the owner on these google reviews though. Very unprofessional. Telling someone to get over it, its just nails geez is not how you fix the problem. You want customers to come back
