Clean, felt safe during covid. The oil massage before your shampoo is amazing! I left my cut in the hands of the stylist and she did a wonderful job talking to me about what she thinks would be great to complement my face shape. She took her time throughout the cut and gave me styling tips at the end. Left there feeling like a million bucks. Ill definitely be back!

I have had some bad hair experiences in the past so I can get a little nervous about having to try a new place (I move frequently) for my hairs color and cut. AMAZING FIND - Best in MadisonKarly was an absolute joy. I have gotten my hair done for years and it is the running joke that I am difficult when it comes to hair. I have had good and bad experiences and a few in between. Never any I would consider out of this world until now.Karly is pure gold. She was very calm and communicative about what we were doing. The lady that cut my hair on New Years Eve did an AMAZING job! This was my first time going this short and we had a lot of fun getting it just how I hoped. (I even got to see myself with a mullet... Oh man) Its a relatively expensive place, but I definitely got a quality cut and a good experience. She also gave me some styling tips, and a (suuuuuper good smelling) product recommendation.NOTE: They also got me in within TEN MINUTES of my call! I came all the way to town to get my haircut at a different salon but the hairdresser couldnt do the buzz cutting on the sides or however she put it. On top of that, no other hairdressers were available at that salon the same day so I was really in a pinch to find somewhere to go without an appointment that was still quality. Im so glad I called Anaala!

Everyone is amazing! I went with a different stylist since mine was booked and I swear she worked magic on my hair! The giant cowlick I had in the back of my hair is now hidden and she explained how she was cutting my hair! She was so sweet! My mom also loved her haircut and was happy with her stylist! I visited Anaala before the pandemic, had a great experience. That was January. Just got my first haircut since (November). Very impressed with the COVID protocols in place, and still received an excellent cut with a great stylist! Felt nearly normal for a while :)

I had a very nice experience and a great haircut. I felt very safe, I was masked as well as everyone in the salon.

I was a first-time client and got a partial balyage touch up and cut--both of which turned out terribly. The color started 1.5 cm from my scalp and only involved the front of my hair (leaving the back dark), was a warm yellow, and very streaky. However, I’m giving stars because Andrea was able to make the color less terrible and improve the cut. In the end though, I’m out $200, have a color job that I hate and have to look at for 2-3 years until it grows out, and now have damaged hair. If you go here, see Andrea.

I worked with several stylists during my journey from very dark brown hair to a light brown/blonde. I appreciated how transparent and informative the staff was. I had to rock orange hair in-between sessions but at least it wasnt a surprise. I love how my hair feels after such a dramatic change. Everyone is super friendly and I appreciate the complimentary beverages and hand massages. Maybe just change the flavor of tea!

They do good hair IF you can get in and know your schedule a month ahead of time.- They have cancelled on me twice before on the same day as I was scheduled - once the day before a wedding I was in (stylist said she was sick but left on vacation the next day) and Heather just cancelled on me for tonights appt. stating she had to take her dog to the vet at 6:30 pm. (She cancelled around 11 am and most vets are closed at 6:30 pm.) Like I said- They do good hair, but unless you are rich with no obligations or job, they are annoying to schedule with. You will be accommodating their schedule, not yours.

Nina was fantastic! Highly recommend. I didnt know exactly what I wanted, but she was able to see what would look good on me & gave me a fantastic cut! Will definitely be going back!

I visited this salon for the first time. I arrived 10 mins before my appointment and nobody was up front or greeted me for 15 minutes. When my appointment got started I said I just wanted a trim and blow out. The girl never ask how much I wanted off. My hair is uneven and shorter then I wanted also the blow out didn’t give me any volume.It is a clean and nice place. The aroma therapy and scalp massage is nice but personally the stylist constant effort to make constant small talk made it not relaxing.

Emily gave me a really nice asymmetric haircut! She took my hair texture into consideration for the cut to make my daily styling as effortless as possible.

I’ve only gotten cuts from Leah but she’s terrific. Good vibes, nice interior. Great location. Give it a whirl.

Ive been having a hard time lately with my current salon with turn over and getting the hair style/color I asked for so I decided to try some where else. After reading the reviews for Anaala (for all three locations) I was comfortable giving them a try. Jordan did a fantastic job on my highlights! I believe the first thing I said when she was finished was YES, this is exactly what I was wanting! She did a great job correcting some imperfections from my previous highlights and really made my hair pop for Summer and for my family pictures next week! I will definitely be back for my future hair needs and highly recommend Jordan!

The service--especially the customer service--is superlative here. There has been a noticeable dip in customer care and service in Madison, but not at Anaala, where they go above and beyond to make sure that the customer feels cared for--thanks especially to Vesna at the front desk!

Ive been going to Anaala on and off for over 5 years. It is tough to find a stylist who understands different hair types and loves what they do, but Anaala on Atwood consistently has the best talent in Madison. Sabrina does outstanding work on wavy/curly hair, and there isnt a stylist there that I wouldnt give a ringing endorsement to. Aveda products are worth their weight in gold and the point system pays off. Plus, the salon opens relatively early and closes late so making an appointment is rarely a problem.

Great experience my first time in with Nina. Ill be back!

Ive had my haircut and colored here three times now by Kenzie - Ive never been happier with my hair! She does a wonderful job and everyone Ive encountered there is extremely professional and pleasant - including when Ive had questions about the cost. Louise especially was very helpful with my questions after my appointment today.

I have gotten my hair trimmed, bangs added, and hair dyed at Anaala with great results. My stylist is really nice, and she has always done a great job cutting my hair, so I decided to have my hair dyed there last week. She did a great job working with a complicated dye job -- I had been dying my hair for a long time myself, and she helped me fix issues like roots, multiple colors, and dye not staying in bleached sections. I would highly recommend this salon to anyone (especially those who like Aveda).

After salon shopping all over Madison for a year or so, a friend recommended Anaala Salon at Hilldale. There I met Anna who tamed my slightly course and very curly hair. Anna also went above and beyond when my wedding was approaching, helping me to choose a look (for my hair) and schedule wedding appointments. She introduced me to the person she thought would be able to give me the best formal do for my wedding day and brought her over to chat while I was in for a maintenance appointment. She also did a beautiful job on my nails (hands and feet). I have just relocated to Pennsylvania and will miss Anna and Anaala Salon as I had nothing but positive experiences there for two years.

Absolutely terrible service and experience. Stylist was cold and rushed to get me out of there, taking no care in my hair. She cut my hair short, uneven, unbalanced, and without texture - when I asked for the opposite of all of these. She hid the poor cut by styling it with product even after I told her I dont do either to my hair. I have taken my business to the other, much better, nearby salons down the road and Ive been very happy since.

With Emily as my stylist, I am in capable hands. I have curly hair that is sometimes unruly, and I always leave with a manageable cut and great color. The service is always friendly and professional, and the salon is clean and organized.

Today was my first time at Anaala! I had a great experience with Kenzie for my haircut. My hair was in pretty bad condition (lots of split ends) and she did a excellent job with rescuing my hair.I would recommend Anaala at Atwood and Kenzie for anyone needing a great haircut.

Ive been going to Avicia at Anaala Salon for a little under a year now. I moved to Madison for graduate school and Anaala was recommended by a friend when I was looking for somewhere to get a foil highlight. Avicia took great care to work with me on selecting exactly the right shades for my highlights and was able to blend them perfectly so they looked completely natural.Most recently, I decided to make a drastic change and had my hair cut from well below my shoulders to a pixie style (think Jennifer Lawrences new pixie cut). Working from a few photos I had shown her on my phone, Avicia was able to create exactly the look I was going for. My hair cut looks amazing and Ive gotten so many compliments in the few days since my visit! I would highly recommend Avicia and Anaala to anyone who is looking for a new salon.
