Great place to worship and feel the love of God.. Great Friendly ....their love for the homeless shines

Am a single mother of a beautiful baby boy, we where abandoned by the person who was suppose to watch over and take care of us, I was never allowed to work while pregnant, One day the blood father just left us. I had just received my return for 2020, I wanted too move with my baby where I grew up,in another state. I had nothing too give my baby. My son didn’t have a home, I didn’t know what to do, I wanted to run but I had no where too run too with my baby. I was going to go too somebody’s else home, blood related but they where so mean and wanted all my babies benefits in order too stay, I wanted too give my baby a home,I didn’t have nothing, I didn’t know what to do, we got evicted, I didn’t want too go to another persons home, a blood related who is so mean and picked me apart in my body image growing up, I didn’t want that person near my son! I cried and prayed, I didn’t know what to do? It was the weekend and we had too leave where we where at due too eviction, I was not going too pay rent there and have the money we had go away little by little and I have my baby in the same suituation months down the road, I was convinced too get a cheap room for a night or two for my baby and book a flight out of state too that relatives house. I was saddened that I couldn’t give my baby his home and saddened that we would of been going too a place where I would be restricted too grow and fight for my babies first home, that person wanted everything of my baby, and wanted too keep me inside, having a person hold shut the door and I have a beloved son that I have too grow for too get him threw life and make him successful for him and not be able to do it!! I cried like never before, my baby boy. I got my baby and walked to the nearest cheapest room closesttoo us, when we got there, I had the worst heart sink I have ever experienced, my card was not working, I called the bank but they where closed, the automated machine said too call back Monday. I put my phone call on speaker so the receptionist at the motel can hear my balance. I kept swiping my card, it wasn’t working. The receptionist started crying as I. There was nothing that can be done. The receptionist could not give me a room, I explained my situation and she could not give me a room without payment. So there I was on the street with my son, I didn’t know what to do, I ended up calling the police, the police themselves took me and my baby too a atm too see if I can get money out, they too heard my card balance when I called the bank. I was crying, holding my baby tight, I didn’t know what was going too happen, the police officers had me and my baby in the back seat of there car. A police officer tells me Ma’am everything will be okay, we have made some calls and Salvation Army has an opening for you and you’re baby, it’s a family shelter. Would you like us too take you there. I said Yes!! There I was at that shelter with my baby, we checked in, my baby had his own privacy, we had a room too ourselves, the room was nicely put and family orientated. We needed some things so I walked to a gas station, when at the store with my baby, I swiped my debit card out of curiosity instead of my babies snap card. It went threw!! I didn’t know how too feel, I collected our purchase and walked out the store with my baby!! I held my baby tight and looked at the sky!! & I knew God had place my baby and me at the Salvation Army!! I knew we where protected!! I knew there I would get on my feet for my baby!! Jesus Christ governs that Salvation Army, when I met the director Erika there, I can feel her desire and passion to helping families in need. The case worker Troy pushed me too my best pontential!! They have great resources, I was able too put my baby in daycare and work and save money too get him a car !! Soon I was able too qualify for low income housing 😌 My son has his home 🙏🏼 Salvation Army is great!! Zack the night monitor is respectful and protective towards all families. God!! Thank you!! I met you’re Soldiers here at Salvation Army!!Great team! Forever great full!! 💙

Friendly, and they do great work. But the hasnt been anyone working at the donation dropoff the last 4 times I went, and I called ahead each time. It feels wrong just leaving things unattended back there.

They had help me so much through my as a mom myself i have 3 kids homeless my husband had a stroke we didnt have no where to go were were living with his brother so it was time for me to find us a home with there help they help us provide my kids werent comfrontable til the security cheer up my family also my case worker actually 2 case worker there awesome we love them when we get our place idk how to thank them for what they did to my family

A great place to start with the building your circumstances regarding housing and also learning and acquiring financial independence. A great opportunity to save money and regroup, I was starting an independent life and needing help, they gave me meals, a bed, a friendly staff and no judgement whatsoever. You are held accountable for your actions and learn self discipline as to flourish in the future.

The staff is helpful at times. Yet, today when dinner was served the cooking staff was rude about people who have no where to go, eating on the premises. Sad that people have to leave a place that was built to assist them. Just sad and disgraceful.

Its a blessing to individuals who understand the purpose of Salvation.

Me and my children were homeless at the time when we went to the Salvation Army they took us in and gave us a place to stay everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. I will never forget the help that the Salvation Army gave us if it wasnt for them I would not be on my feet now and be a business for myself. Thank you Salvation Army for everything that you did and especially the staff some of the greatest people that Lubbock have.

I went there with my work to volunteer and I loved it there I had been to other places to volunteer which was normally cleaning and I didnt feel so helpful there but at the salvation army I felt like I did a lot of good helping cook and passing out food the ppl are all so friendly and made us laugh I cant wait to go there again!

Its kind of sad when they hire you for a job then fire you because you want to spend Thanksgiving with your family. Dont waste your time getting a job here. They dont appreciate good help.

I have witnessed, on more than one occasion, this center provide assistance to needy families. Diapers, food, a place to stay, resources. For ever thankful for Crystal and all the staff that continue to bless theses families.

I REALLY, REALLY REALLY wish 0 stars was an option. But its not. I thought the Salvation Army was there to help people. However the experience that I had speaking with Jamie today tells me otherwise. Let me just say if you want someone to be rude mean and just nasty to you. Oh yeah I also laugh, but not with you; at your situation. Then give them a call. thats exactly what this Jamie character did and when i called back to ask to speak to someone above, her she hung up.....WHY?

I go to church here and on Monday nights we have mens and womens league where we do crafts and/or help with things for the needy. Prayer is always beginning and end of group. I love it!

It is a transitional housing program for homeless people and families. On cold nights you can go down there and get a cold cot to get out of the cold even if they have no available beds.

They helped me with my utilities!
