Its a decent gym. No extras like it had before when it was Bodyworks. There is still a turf area with CrossFit type equipment. There is a basketball court. There are plenty of cardio machine and two different areas of weight machines. They are not always functioning but for the most part usable. There is also the free weight area upstairs. Not too sure about the maintenance there. There are some classroom areas but not a lot of classes scheduled compared to pre COVID. They take temps but mostly no masks, just FYI. I guess that. But I would like to see staff cleaning more. There are cleaning supplies available but you are expected to do it on your own.Bottom line, it will get you by.
I’ve been a member here for just under a year (August 2020), and I can’t express how great a place this is.With the new general manager, Zach Moreno, I can confidently say that things around the gym have vastly improved from how it was before. Any problem with the basketball court or issue with any machine/free weights will be taken care of promptly and in a timely manner. Zach is a fantastic general manager. He’s friendly with everyone even if you’re new and will make a point to speak with you and make you feel at home.I come to play basketball everyday and anytime I requested for the floors to be cleaned or the rim to be fixed it was done by the next day, if not same day.If you’re considering a gym membership, this is the place to be - period, point, blank.
I FEEL SCAMMED!! They signed me up for a contract without EXPLICITLY SAYING ITS A CONTRACT. I only went in with the intention of getting a 3 days free pass but I paid $8 for 10 days. A week later they were telling me that I signed a contract and I didn’t know because the agent did not tell me it was a contract! The worst experience ever. Now I have to pay $500 for something no one COMMUNICATED CLEARLY TO ME. This is the WORST PLACE ever, and they have SHADY WORKERS😪
I wanted a simple membership and was talked into trying a trial for training. The trial turned out to be the highest rated package and some thing I couldn’t afford. I never wanted the training and when I tried to speak with a manager they avoided me for weeks. Eventually got a hold of an email for someone higher than the manager and they continue to ignore me as well. I explained that I moved a short distance away and it was inconvenient as well as they were causing me to overdraft my account. The membership I agreed to was $39 a month. They were taking over $250 a month out of my account. I went to my bank and as I waited in line I found out that I was one of three people just that day they had the same problem with Tru-Fit. It’s not ethical. They sign you up for agreements without your full understanding then avoid you when you want to discuss it. Extremely unprofessional. Do not go here.
Gym is sub par, nothing special at all. Just wanted a month to month membership, and they described the details of what I was signing up for to be that, along with no cancellation fees. Tried to cancel and turns out I was under a contract that I wasn’t aware of, now I have to pay for the entire year when I only used a month, plus an annual fee, something that wasn’t discussed when I signed up. Horrible communication and little transparency now I’m screwed. Stay away unless you know 100% what you’re getting yourself into
Been coming here for a few years now and can I just make a huge suggestion? Put labels on the dumbbell rack where each set is supposed to go. Apparently people don’t know how to count by 5s anymore lol. Other than that great gym, definitely the best in Lubbock.
Warning: DO NOT SIGN UP FOR ANY MEMBERSHIP WITH THIS COMPANY! I understand that you will just be truly saddened by my rating as that is the auto response to horrible ratings. But mangement here is by far the worst I ever ever experienced in my life. I was lied to for months about the process of downgrading which is ridiculous first of all. But then I tried to cancel once, my form was lost, then I tried again the following month when I realized it wasn’t canceled and was told it’s never been processed (somehow that’s become my fault). I’ve been charged all month for PT and the gym even Current manager told me I was cancelled. Last month my pt was cancelled and it says the end date was in august and I had no more sessions. Now, since I’ve complained suddenly my pt is till October and I have all these sessions to use, so they can continue to charge me. They are full of lies and will confuse you as much possible to get their money.
My husband and I Went and signed up for a regular membership. The first day the staff was so helpful & nice. When signing up for a REGULAR membership, I was told I had 10 days to cancel anything w/o being charged. Within the first 7 days they charged my account a total of $526 for a personal trainer which I did not sign up for. Like I said I was told within 10 days I could cancel anything but when I went up there to talk to the staff in person since I wasn’t getting any call backs all day, I was told they never told me 10 days. So when trying to cancel the regular member ship I was told it was going to be over $1000 to just cancel all of that. I wasn’t told from the get go it was a contract, they made it seem like it’s just a month to month membership! The worker also told me they are required to read off a “script” but not once was a contract nor exact dates or amounts was discussed! They are very unprofessional! I definitely would not recommend to anyone! They’re in it for the money only.
Great gym so far. Been there two days in a row, hope to keep it up. It would be a five star if the guys locker room didnt smell like wet dog, it isnt bad but it lingers with you
It is truly not a bad gym, but the communication when signing up is horrid. If you sign up then please make sure you clarify that you want a month to month agreement instead of a contract. They did not tell me that I was signing up for a contract and I am now wasting money on this gym because “they can’t cancel the membership until the end of the year.” So please people clarify the type of membership you want before going into this gym. They will not inform you unless you clarify! Bad communication is highly unprofessional when running a business, but it seems they do not care so protect yourself first. :)
Fast talk you into signing up for memberships because they know there is no paperwork for you to read over. Thought I was paying a simple one time a month membership until I look in my account and see 2x that amount drafted. All they had to say well the person who signed you up put you on such and such plan. Don’t waste your time, money, nor risk your freedom for folks who only concerned about the money. Worst experience in life!
What the? Submitted a request MULTIPLE TIMES to have my freaking account frozen because Im out of town. Ughhh the person that handles that isnt in the office but we can leave a message for them and theyll take care of it. Oh will they?Is that why, after making multiple requests to freeze my account, since apparently yall need the same direction repeated multuple times, I got a notification that you people tried to charge my account again?Explanation?Am I able to cancel my membership over the phone or do I need to come to Lubbock with a damn lawyer just to get out of an account with you? You know, since yall make it super easy to sign up which I did over the app so wanna know how easy/complex it is to cancel my membership?
This is by far one of the wost gyms you could join. I would never suggest it to a friend or family while the gym quality is ok at best the customer service is far worse. not only are they overly pushy in trying to sell you the max package. they handle cancellations terribly I was moving into an area that has no tru fit gym so I was needing to cancel my membership at first I was told I would have to pay off the remaining months for the year which was around $600 because when I signed up apparently it is for a year-long contract. when in fact I was told by the crew member who sold me the membership I could cancel any time but when I told them I was not going to pay for the remaining months because I was moving they said as long as I provide proof of address they would go ahead and cancel my membership for me. they said I had no need to bring it into the club and I could email it to them so it did. It took them more than two weeks to get back to me only to say that they could not tell that it was enough proof to see I was moving I sent in paystubs bank statements and bills more than enough proof to show I was no longer in Lubbock and they want me to bring the documents in person after telling me I wouldnt have to. So if you are ever thinking about joining this club dont you will regret it this is the worst experience I have ever had at a gym. And I cant wait to get the same cookie-cutter response that every bad review gets shows that they really care put thought into the bad reviews.
Definitely tried to cancel my membership since it’s been a year, however they never reach back to me. However my bank was about to stop their attempt to take $50 out when I was on a $30 per month. And when they read this they’ll say the same thing they said to others....
We like the fun club at 4th trufit. It’s nice and open & the workers are friendly.
So when I signed up I was told I could join the group exercises which is why I picked the plan for 30 a month for a year unfortunately I injured myself and was not able to join the group classes. Now that a year passed I still go to the gym, but I wanted to downgrade to just the basic package since Im not using the group exercises. And now im told that I dont have access to the group exercises in the first place that the women that said it was included lied. Whats worse is that I asked to just be downgraded to basic then and they said I had to pay an extra 200 dollars. Im already a member for a year why would I pay extra to downgrade my existing membership. I asked different management members and they all gave me this sigh of apathy and did not even try to help me out.
Worst customer service and management staff. I have been trying to cancel my membership for the past month. It seems no one has the power to cancel my membership, and each time I call TruFit the staff gives me a new email to contact to cancel my membership. It is not worth anyone’s time or money to sign up at this gym. Lastly, since trying to cancel my membership I have been charged over $100 dollars in random fees. Take your business else where.
Not only....Not only are they scared of a fake virus and require me to wipe down everything I touch but they can’t even clean properly and protect me from pathogens and bacteria that are likely present in the pictures below. Not only does this place steal your money, but once you sign a contract they become rude and unhelpful. Not only does this place require you to wear a mask, but they can’t even clean their gym properly. So nasty!
The gym is very nice but the people did not explain to me that I was signing a year long term with them. However, you can cancel your membership if you’ve moved outside of 30 miles from that location, which I have and they’re taking their sweet time getting back to me.
I would not sign any contract with Trufit. The trainers do not care about your well being they just are their to make a profit. They will persuade you to sign a contract to get a personal trainer and start charging you fees that were never explained and give you a started pack without explaining that there is a charge for it. Unless you want to basically get bankrupt do not give one cent to this organization.
I switched over to TruFit from Planet Fitness and it was one of the best decisions ever! The staff is really friendly and they keep you updated with any regulations they have. This gym has numerous cardio machines & even an area to do floor cardio. Weights are social distanced as well, which helps making everyone feel comfortable when working out. My favorite thing about this gym is they have a sauna in the locker rooms!
I love it great staff good equipment personal trainers are like family
I felt very welcomed by Chris one the workers there. He made sure me and my wife had a great experience.
At least one of the four gyms need longer hours.
I love this gym! 4th is probably one of my favorites. But I got to get an answer when is the sauna opening again! Crunch has had theres open months ago. Please get back at me ASAP. Thanks 😊
They erased my last negative review. This place is shady.
Today was my first day back after starting a new member ship online last night. I was excited to be back. When we arrived the person was almost 10 minutes late opening the location on 4th. I work and take my three kids to three different schools so for me every minute matters and this use to be my favorite location. The gym hadn’t been cleaned. There was a half drank water bottle on the treadmill I wanted to use, dirty paper towels in the cup holders of the treadmill and the stair master I moved to and the trash cans were overflowing with trash. Not too sure how much the gym values cleanliness especially during a pandemic. I guess I have three days to cancel so we’ll see how it goes the next two.
Great employees, ready to help, guide and motivate you on your new journey ! Easy process to get signed up. A nice clean gym with lots of different classes and weight options depending on your level of work out capabilities!
Everyone is very nice and welcoming. Also there is something for any workout you can think of. Love the music too. Don’t feel any judgement either.
If I could rate this 0 stars I would. These people are literally running a scam! I had canceled my membership and they still charging me month to month. The managers are never around for customer service. TRUFIT IS A SCAM DO NOT SIGN UP! Im trying to save you time and money. - Honest 806 Reviews
My membership was supposed to be cancelled. Well, it wasn’t... Spoke with Jeremy Bell, nothing resolved. Well, I still paid for a membership that should’ve been cancelled. 3 months later, at hardest time of year with holidays around... My account is drafted again. For again, a membership I DO NOT HAVE. I contact 34th where he use to be. Not there. And no management period. “Out on vacation.” Asked for Jeremy Bell... He’s at 4th. I call. Lady upfront says he’s right here talking to somebody but she could relay my message as I expressed my urgency to her. Oh... Just 4 hours later. Nothing. I call, and conveniently Jeremy is gone. The lack of sympathy, lack of customer service and lack of communication. I’m so disappointed and would not refer anybody to this gym only because there’s no management.
It cool but if you want to work legs go to a different true fit
The kids club workers are the best! 😀
I had payed for my membership in cash and got a receipt for it! Management then says i didnt pay for my membership even when i took my receipt to them several times! And then report me to collections....very poor management! Dont get ripped off by this place! Management is horrible as well
Horrible service asked for a water and no one could get me one, I also asked if they could turn the sauna on because I wanted to go into the sauna after my workout and no one knew how to turn it on. Horrible service
Money hungry people. Linda Sandoval from corporate billing is very rude and unprofessional. This whole gym corporation is corrupt. They dont care about you and whenever you dont want to spend extra money on a trainer they start acting rude. These people do not work out! They take steroids. They have cut hours and have not gave back to customers at all because of Covid! Wouldnt be surprised if this place closed down.
Gym was very clean and proper. Young lady at the front desk was very polite and courteous
Ive visited this gym almost daily for a few months now and it is a great place to get a workout. Ive employed a couple of trainers too and they are very good. The staff works hard to keep the place clean and the machines operating properly. Pricing is extremely affordable.
I use to work here and had a gym membership. They never gave me back my tax return even charge me for gym membership during the COVID. I even wrote out a letter saying I moved and they didn’t cancel my membership. As well they even lied about my pay. You definitely don’t want to go to this gym even most of the equipment is broken down.
Due to my recent experience with this company, you cannot trust what they say. My son signed a contract for person training. He was required to sign for longer than he needed. He only needed 3 months since he was moving off to college. He had to sign up for 6. Probably complete BS to begin with. He was told he could Cancel at any time. You will have to jump through hoops to cancel. There is no common sense dealing with this company. 5 days prior to end of the required 30 day notice of cancellation, we were charged for another full month with them knowing since day one that my son was moving off to college to another town where there is no Tru*hit fitness center. But they say he can now access the club through mid september which is completely useless to him. They do not care. They will not prorate even when it is common sense. So be warned that they will scam you out of your money by telling you one thing and doing another thing. Lesson learned for my son. Unfortunately, you cannot trust what people tell you . Especially when they make money on the deal.
Very professional and detailed...... I wrote that when I first started there. Afterwards when I cancelled they still kept charging me. Over drafted me 3xs in 1 week. It was a hassle and then when I paid to do the stop payment with my bank they started calling me being very rude and disrespectful. Seems they are nice and courteous when theyre getting your money. 🤷🏼♀️
BEWARE STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE I’ve been in communication with this company since the pandemic. I cannot utilize the gym due to health reasons & have stressed this to them the GM has been careless regarding my situation even though I can’t use the gym, nor have I used the gym at all in months they continue robbing me $90/mth for a unused membership. Now my membership is up and they still won’t cancel as they’re robbing me another month due to 30day notice even though I have been in contact since pandemic regarding my situation and desire to cancel! Horrible place, company, staffing. All they care about is money and will not let you out of your contract no matter what the reason is they are inconsiderate and greedy. The GM and gyms is the worst.
In their contracts they say if you cancel within 3 business days of signing up for their services you will receive a full refund. I did just that and Im still waiting for them to contact me back. I understand we are in the middle of a pandemic right now but this matter should not require someone to be at the location. I havent heard anything from the general manager of this location for over a month. Ive sent SEVERAL emails and have heard nothing back. I will NEVER consider this gym considering how much trouble it is to have someone type me a short email about whats going on.
Don’t workout here !!I put my account on military suspension and I could not get them to stop billing me. They finally did stop and 6 months later I got more bills because the account that I tried to cancel came off suspension and more erroneous charges were automatically billed#nocustomerservice #poorlyRanCompany
If I could give this place zero stars, I would. When I moved away, I tried to cancel my membership but every time I went in to do it, the person at the desk would tell me nobody was around to help me with that at that time. Then when I finally moved and ran out of time I had to call constantly and sent hundreds of emails TRYING to cancel my membership and NOTHING. This is not how you run anything. This is fraud and it has almost been a year and I have still yet to have a response. This is the most unprofessional and greedy company that I have ever dealt with that treat their members horribly. I was a member for years and he freaking moved. CANCEL MY MEMBERSHIP.
Dont bother signing up for personal training! They schedule you to work out and the trainer doesnt show up. They also dont notify you that they cant meet. My trainer has rescheduled me every week the past month. Already spoke to a manger nothing was done other than changeing to a different trainer who also doesnt show up.
Great variety of machines but hardly can find a bottle to sanitize equipment when done. The restroom is okay could be checked more in evening time. Other than that great employees and instructors.
Always friendly, professional, convenient and the communication is great !
It was great. Very clean and the workers kept sanitizing the equipment. Social distancing practiced.
They Keep charging for months although we have shown proof of a move out of town and no trufit in the area. Frauds!!!
This is the perfect gym if you enjoy receiving no customer service and if you like to un-rack every machine before using it. I guarantee that you will never be greeted or waved bye to and you will never receive an ounce of help or enthusiasm from any employee at the front desk. Be careful with the salesmen because they lie about what they’re charging you. The gym itself is beginner friendly, clean for the most part, big and very spread out
Facility is spacious and clean. Good, newer equipment and rock wall!
Filthy place with rude employees. It was much better when it was owned locally by Bodyworks.
Basketball court turf field boxing equipment kids day care as well as trampoline park lazer tag free weights machine weight sauna and locker room extremely affordable literally everything you could ask for
Went with my husband to use his guest pass. I was chased down by an employee screaming Mam! after I checked in. She then informed me that they dont do guest passes and Id have to pay $15 or buy a membership. This was all after the employee at the desk completely ignored us. I didnt enjoy the employee making a scene screaming after us and then very rudely telling us I couldnt be there. It was the most unprofessional experience weve ever encountered.
First time Loved it
Our firm is dedicated to the health of our team, so when we decided to provide gym memberships for all members we turned to Bodyworks. The Bodyworks staff was amazing to work with to set up our corporate account and we cant thank Rhonda Basford enough for her help through the whole process.
The location on 4th street DOES ZERO JOB explaining contracts and the people at front desk are no help and extremely sarcastic and RUDE. Zero help and lied atleast 5 times to my face. I have never left a review anywhere, and would never waste my time doing so.. But this was ridiculous
Never again will I be a member of trufit! Absolutely horrible experience! Complete and total pathetic management! No one seems to tell the truth about anything! Was told when signing up that to cancel my account all I had to do was sign a cancellation paper 30 days before next month to get it cancelled so I signed the paper, come next month they charged my account! When I called to confront them they had said they “lost my paper” thankfully I had the copy. Gave to manager on Friday and was called this morning and was told they needed proof that I lived 25 miles away from the location in order to get me out of contract!!!! Like I was never informed of this when I signed up or when I signed to cancel my membership why am I just now hearing about this! Just plain horrible customer service and poor management! This same thing has happened with my mother! I recommend not becoming a trufit member as they will give you the run around! If I could give them zero stars or negative stars I would!
Had some issues cancelling my account BUT they did get me taken care of...overall never had any other issues
Bodyworks is the best gym Ive ever had a membership with. Not only is the facility always clean but you dont get the everyones watching me anxious feeling some get when going to work out. Everyone including staff and even the other members of the gym make it such a comfortable environment.High notes!- Mariah who is a personal trainer at body works, is an absolute gem! She not only pushes you to be a better you but she also teaches you how to do the workouts so that you can one day train yourself safely and efficiently. On top of that, her attitude is contagious and guarantees a motivational and fun time all into one! Cant beat it!-Kids Club is AMAZING! All the staff knows my child by name and are all so welcoming. As a new mom I worried how she would be, but she fell in love with all of them. Some days after my workout is finished she still wants to stay and play! All staff have fun loving attitudes and I trust them with my baby girl. They also have a camera to where you can see you child playing before walking in the door.In conclusion dont miss out on this gym! You wont regret it!
Stay away if you care about your money or your general well-being. The employees are shady and I have overheard talk from personal trainers conspiring to manipulate the system so they can receive payment for no show clients that the house would normally receive payment for. Dont believe the fake-paid-for reviews that this company propagates in order to maintain their satisfactory façade.
Been a long time member of bodyworks and now trufit. Alot of companies tend to forget to treat their long time members as good as their new potential members. Today that proved to be wrong for this company at this location with Melissa. She treated me just as good as a brand new member with a question I had and proved that trufit is one of the best in its industry.
I would give it more stars but we signed up 3 days ago and the lady just took our papers didnt welcome us or shake our hands. We are going here because our apartment has a special with them. I like the facility and what it offers but the employees could use a lesson in customer service. I still have yet to see any of them smile
This place is horrible!! I been there 3 times to get my membership that comes with my apartment!! Ive taken my lease 3 times and even spoke with a manager!! They are very rude and cant seem to be organized!! Every time I been they said they lost or never recieved any info. Whats the point in going if the company and staff dont even care? They should have stayed Bodyworks. Ill take my business and family to Planet Fitness!!
A great job with a great daycare. My son loves it and hes 3 and never wants to be separated from mommy
Trampoline is not open for the kids
Great gym. I was a member for 2 years while I was in Lubbock. I had access to 3 locations for under $45 a month total, with the 34th street location being open 24/7. Can’t beat that. To avoid being disappointed, it’s a good idea to read through the entire contract before you sign up. Like you’re supposed to with anything I suppose. Great selection of equipment for weight training as well as cardio, and usually not too crowded after 8 pm on weekdays. If you lift regularly you won’t be disappointed at Bodyworks.
Good gym for a good price, but they keep it too hot in there. Not sure if they are trying to save money or make people sweat more, but its the warmest gym Ive ever been in.
Completely misleading contracts and sales associates. Was told one thing at one point only to have it change. Been paying member for over 2 years and they wont let us cancel the membership. Avoid this place at all costs. Terrible customer service and an awful way to trick people into things without them understanding what you are doing to them.
I love Bodyworks on 4th. Everyone is friendly even at 4:30am 😊. Kaiden, the guy in charge of the front desk during the early morning is awesome! Sometimes I get tired of my workout routine so I switch it up and play basketball or watch a movie while walking on the treadmill or bicycling in the movie room. I wouldn’t go anywhere else!
I love this gym its my favorite one to workout at💗
This place is awful. They will not allow you out of a 12 month contract no matter the reason all they want is your money they do not care about anything else. I cannot afford to pay and they are still trying to take my money. Only a month in and a very unpleasant experience.
Improved pricing/options on family plans made for a much better experience than when I was a member years ago.
This gym is awesome, hammer strength equipment is probably the best......
Today was one of my worst day ever, me and my kids were so miss treaded and kicked out from the gym by the manager (Charla S.) she made my baby girl cry. How can they accept people like her to be part of a gym based on family values. A few words for her, thank you for showing your rudeness to our family and our guest. We were kicked out because my kids were sitting quietly in the lobby on their electronics. 11,8 year olds.FYI
Only sharing my experience so take it for what it is.Ever since Bodyworks was bought out by TruFit; it has all gone down-hill. Yes, they have fancy new equipment and upgrades... but the way they are treating members who have been there for years makes the upgrades seem like nothing. TruFit is very much a chain-gym, whereas Bodyworks and it’s mission statement completely revolved around its guests and keeping them happy. You are just an ID tag number at TruFit. The people at the front desk are friendly for the most part; until you ask them to do anything other than check you in. I waited to speak to a manager for 45 minutes (she kept walking by me knowing I was waiting and didn’t say one word to me) regarding renewing my membership even though I was already on the fence about it. That was the breaking point in what made me decide to cancel my membership. I don’t care how nice or fancy a gym is; if your customer service is lacking, I will take my business elsewhere. They have made several changes to their policies and do not make an effort to simply send out a email letting members know. All they do is put a tiny sign at the front desk. For example, I’ve been a member for 3 years now and I happened to forget my key tag the other day. When I got there, I wasn’t let in because I didn’t have my ID. I understand this to an extent, but why do they take a picture of you in the system if they’re just going to ask for your ID anyway? There needs to be some extensive customer service training throughout all locations. It is sad to see how much it has changed; not for the better. It is a Planet Fitness in-the-making.
Great price for all that is included in the membership. The classes they offer are lead by friendly, wonderful trainers
Pretty sh***y not to offer any chance for early termination unless you move. You cant even pay a termination fee. Also, the childcare at 4th street is scary. They strapped my 18mo daughter in a baby swing while she cried her head off and we saw another child escape.
Clean facility. Good prices for everything that you get. I love jazzercise!
0 stars if possible. Cancelled 5 years ago and am still getting calls to pay a balance of over $200. DO NOT JOIN.
Not a good place to host a birthday party!! Very unorganized and horrible customer service! Only allowed 30mins in party room to eat pizza, eat cake and open gifts is ridiculous when your only actually given like 20mins and having to rush your party. And also a number of other things that went wrong.... Then when asked to speak with management was given a card and told call em. Very rude and unacceptable. Will be terminating contract very soon.
DO NOT use this gym. They never, ever, no matter what you do, let you out of your contact. There is no way contact corporate, you are just stuck!!!!!!
I am from Australia, this gym has so much to offer all ages, the equipment is some of the best I have used.
Nice people clean
Nice and clean but when the Mexican guy works he closes the sauna 25 minutes early, i like to go to gym late so I would enjoy if I can use what I pay for...
Awesome people
Worst experience at a facility Ive ever experienced. Terrible customer service and just an overall metocre gym. I was told I could cancel my membership whenever I wanted when I signed up and have been denied being able to cancel. I also wasnt told it was a 12 month membership when I signed up and was told I could cancel when I move in a month. This company is horrible and they treat their customers terribly. All I want is to cancel and not having anything to do with this company anymore. I strongly suggest never signing up with Bodyworks you will get a horrible work out experience and absolutely terrible customer service.
Nice staff, great equipment, reasonable hours. I really like this place.
I love Octane interval training and Combo 6
It does a good job of being a gym. Only complaint: only 2 basketball hoops
Never had a bad experience here
DO NOT FALL FOR THIS unless you want your hard-earned money taken from your account without any information. I just canceled my membership and was told by a representative that since my move out of Lubbock was sudden, he will try and speak with the manager about not charging the cancellation fee. To my surprise, I see a charge of $107. 46 from Bodyworks this month and when I tried to inquire, some lady read from the notes that--member has agreed to pay the cancellation amount. I was charged a membership fee for May + a cancellation. When I asked why should I be paying this months membership dues when I have canceled, I was told that I informed about the cancellation on 04/25 and they need a 30 day notice. In reality, its been months (December last year) since I have informed this representative about my move. The gym in my opinion is average with a very big problem for short people. Most of the equipments like- hamstrings curl, quads machine, glute kickbacks etc. are NOT adjustable to your leg length. All these equipments have tightened bolts which makes it impossible to use these machines unless you want to strain a muscle and have bad posture throughout the workout.I am very dissatisfied with the decision to get into a year long membership at bodyworks on 4th st. Think really carefully before getting into an agreement with them.
We love this bodyworks they are so nice
The Bodyworks Family Life Center has so much to offer for what appears to be a small building on the outside! A gym that not only has a Cardio Cinema room (a cardio center where you can watch a movie on the big screen while you work out!), but multiple attractions for all ages that are fitness engaging is something quite unheard of. Kids can play laser tag, climb the ropes course, or jump in the trampoline park while their parents work out! The Kids Club is also way more exciting than most daycares! Bodyworks also has an indoor basketball court and turf field. The staff is friendly and always willing to answer any questions; the gym and locker rooms are kept clean. If personal training isnt for you then try one of the many classes including hip hop!
Tons of equipment and machines and free waits. A really nice big space and friendly staff.
Other than closing too early friday - sunday great gym...
Normally I am not the kind of person that comes to the internet to tell if liked or not a place. I have been to plenty of places my entire life that I really didnt like and even didnt say anything. However, this place specially I had to write a review here, so another person dont have the same experience that I had. First thing you need to know, all those promotions that they advertise are lies. I live 5 minustes or less from the bodyworks on the 4th, I always wanted to stop by to see how it looked like inside, but for n reasons never did. Then I saw a promotion from then somewhere, the 30 days free trial for the first 50 people. Right now, I wasnt working out at all, so there I saw a perfect oportunity not only for me to get back working out, but also to get to know the gym and sign up for their membership. So I signed up online like required, and at the end a message showed up saying that if there were still a spot available for those 50 people I would receive a email in a few minutes. I received the email and so I could go there and start my free 30 days trial. When I went there this guy from their staff shows up. First he said that the 50 spots had been filled, which was the opposite that the email said, and instead I could use my 30 days free trial as a coupon to get a discount to be a member of the gym paying a X amount. I didnt say anything, but if I dont have the coupon because the 50 spots were full, how could I turn it in. However, I didnt say anything, I wanted to see if that was a lie so they could trick people to come to the gym and force them to pay for membership. Then he said that I had two choice, I could either have 14 days free trial or turn in the coupon(that I didnt win) for the discount and pay. I said that I would like to workout at the gym first, and then I could decide. He agreed, but i had to decide at the end of my workout. I didnt care rules are rules I had to decide. So I went to workout. The guy went to the middle of my workout talk to me, at first I thought he was being nice and really wanted to know if I was finding everything ok, but later I realized that he was pushing me to finish an decide. Later I finished my trainning and went to the front desk. I went to the front desk to look for him to sign up for the membership, it was a little bit expensive even with the discount, but I wanted to workout there(it was before). So, first I asked him if i could pay in cash because i hate when companies take money from my account, I always like to pay in cash and he agreed, but I would have to give them my card anyway, I just had to pay in cash before they charge my card, I didnt like it, but I had to respect their rules, so i agreed with that terms. Then I asked him if I had to pay something if I wanted to cancel my membership, he said that I would have to pay $75. I didnt want to pay the $75 if i need to get away from the gym for a while because I go away in the summer and sometimes get to busy with work or school that I have to be away from the gym. However, those are their rules, so i could do anything about it. So because I liked the gym and really wanted to give a shot to see if i really would adapt myself in there because i am the kind of person that when I like a place and I am treated with minimum respect I stuck there and I complain when something is wrong to them, not to other, so they can improve and be better for me and for the other that use whoever service it is. It can be a restaurant, a gym, any kind of store, a insurance company, a cellphone company, anything. So I told him that I wanted the 14 days free trials because I wanted to see if I would really like the place as much as it would be part of my routine. And he said it wasnt a acctual reason for me to want the 14 days free trial. And I insisted my reason. He kept saying that it wasnt a real reason, and that he was a person and that he knew what I meant by that. He literally was saying to me that I was lying and that I had to sing up for the membership or else i could not workout there. to be coninued...
The child care is great...it gives my kids a chance to get their energy out and play with other kids while I get my workout in...the personal training staff is very knowledgable...especially justin Gillispie...great guy, great trainer...all in all the place is awesome and I would recommend it over and over
