Took my dog for an emergency visit. Dr. Brown and the staff were excellent with Martin. He can test ones patience if you are a stranger. I never questioned his safety or care. I highly recommend!

We brought our dog in to put him down recently. We were scheduled for 4:30 and got there at 4:20. We waited in the hot car with our sick, uncomfortable, dying senior dog for an HOUR. I called to ask when they would be getting us in since wed been waiting so long and they said they were getting a room ready for us right then. 20 minutes went by and we were still waiting, so I went inside to see what was going on. When I went in, I was told that they were swamped and they were doing their best. I told them that wed been waiting a whole hour and we didnt even have water for him out there because we didnt think it would be that long. He was panting and in horrible shape, poor dog. They then told me in an extremely rude tone that they had double booked us to get us in and we were welcome to leave and go to an emergency vet to have him put down, but that wed be waiting for 4 to 6 hours until they could get us in. Its not our fault that Hopewell double booked us. We were never offered an option to wait until another day so we assumed that everything was okay when we made the appoinment. They should have at least warned us that we would be waiting awhile if we wanted to come in at that time. None of this was our fault, but we didnt have a better option so we waited more. Once we finally got back there, everything went smoothly and Dr. Mittlekamp was awesome. However, the rude staff and the extremely long wait in the hot car was enough to make us consider not coming back. So be warned, if you go there you will likely be waiting until WELL past your appointment time and they will be rude to you if you ask whats happening. Maybe dont double book your patients from now on.Update 8/31/2021: lIm changing my 2 star review to a 1 star.Today I called to give them a 2nd chance and get my new kitten his first vaccines. I was hoping that my previous experience was a one off, and things would be better since I left my review. They were getting me on the schedule when I was put on hold for a few minutes. When they came back Dr. Brown was on the phone and said, So you left us a bad Google review but youre trying to make another appointment. I said yes I did, and that it was a horrible experience that deserved a negative review. To this she replied, Well then Im sure you can find another clinic that can better meet your needs. I said that was not a problem and we ended the call. They never apologized for the bad experience, never even mentioned it, they were only concerned about the bad review. I truly hoped that they had read my review and had reconsidered their attitudes towards patients, but that was clearly not the case. Dont go here under any circumstances.

Was planning on coming here with my dog but the staff was so rude I turned around and walked out the door. Some woman with short red hair was extreme rude and acted like I was a burden. My dog was even terrified. Place was dirty and seemed like a disaster. Thankful I didn’t leave my dog there.

I believe we can stop looking for a new vet!! After moving to the area we needed someone closer to take as good of care of our dog as our last vet did. After 3 appointments our dog is healthy and up to date. Convenient location and the best prices we’ve had on services before.

Had such a pleasant experience today at Hopewell Animal Hospital! Today was our first appointment with Dr. Brown. I was searching for a veterinarian with experience with Addisons Disease and its been hard to come by but Dr. Brown answered all my questions and discussed her treatment plan. Immediately after talking through my concerns I feel 100% better and relieved that my lab is going to be under her care!We have two other dogs that will be joining Dr. Browns practice when theyre due next for shots!

Nice place, clean very knowledgeable and caring . the people are very nice. The only thing when you call them and the girl answers the phone you can barely hear her. When I was there to pick up my dog and she was answering the phone I figured out why you couldnt understand or hear her, she puts the phone on her shoulder and the mouth piece us under her chin!! Please put the phone receiver up to your mouth!! Thanks for taking great care of my furbaby!

We love taking our babies to Hopewell. We moved out of Louisville and refuse to go anywhere else. So many great things, but they are always quick to get us in, and the follow up is better than our personal doctors. Very reasonable pricing and overall great value!

Obnoxious Dog Mom Approved! From major I accidentally ate a whole Nerf ball surgery to routine exams and ear infections, they are highly-skilled, kind, professional and reasonably priced. When I had to leave my pup overnight, I wasnt worried (which is unlike me) because I knew he was in good hands.I switched to Hopewell a year ago from a vet I really loved because we moved and I was anxious about the transition. Hopewell doctors and staff have been absolutely wonderful and we appreciate them all so much. I feel so lucky to have found them. I also LOVE that they work with local rescues to help keep their costs low which allow them to save more animals!

High recommendations for Hopewell Animal Hospital. Dr. Brown and Dr Mittlekamp and all the staff are the best. Tasha and Ellery are so good at the front desk. I use Pet Pro to communicate with the office and I always hear back in a timely manner. It’s very efficient!!

Gave my dog a Flu shot that I didn’t authorize..then tried to fix it by only charging me half!!! Didn’t follow up about an appointment scheduled, and were very unprofessional. Would never recommend this vet.If they did to a human child what they did to my dog (who by the way got extremely sick from this shot) they would no longer be in practice!!

It was later in the day and my normal vet was full and unable to get me in. My cats tail was partially degloved and she needed to have surgery as soon as possible. I called and they worked me in even though I was not a client. The staff had a full roster but they got Nova taken care of even while having to stay after❤! Great experience and great outcome!

Been here 3 years with 3 dogs (All medium/large breed, one was puppy), from regular yearly check-ups to rescued puppy checkup/skin disease to wound care. Hours are great even for full time M-F working folks. They take walk-ins if you have an urgent-ish case and gives great recommendations and options if you have any additional concerns. After years with another vet we started to feel like a bottomless checkbook, we are crazy about our animals and it seemed like that vet knew it and started to exploit it. Expensive tests were being ran and results were not being discussed, appointments seemed to come a little too often, etc. A neighbor recommended we try out Dr. Brown at Hopewell and she has been incredible. Dr. Brown always lays out everything very clearly and isnt afraid to tell us when we are overreacting to something. I always feel she has our pets best interest at heart, not what procedure will make her firm the most money, which is incredibly refreshing. The rest of her staff is just as great, everyone is very warm and friendly, even with our talkative elder dog that I know has to drive them crazy =-) Could not recommend a vet any higher.

These people are such caring individuals. They took great care of our baby and even stayed late past close to give him the care he needed. If I could give more stars I would.

As the mother of 4 babies, three small dogs and one cat, I can say this is the BEST care theyve ever received. I can ask any question and they always find a way to help. Best prices for shots and products that Ive found in town! The doctors take TIME with owners and dont rush through the visit to meet a time requirement or act like your concerns arent important. I HIGHLY recommend Hopewell for any owner wanting their fur baby to be well taken care of and loved the same!

Dr. Brown is amazing. She is one of the only reasons my rescue dog is doing as well as he is. Between his heart worm treatment, skin infection, parasites, and many many other issues she has been there to help him (and me because I am always a wreck) through all of it. She is always available when I need to get in for an emergency and she helps so many of the foster dogs with the rescue that I work with. If you are looking for a very dedicated and caring vet Dr. Brown is the one!

Over seven decades I have given my many cats and dogs (large, small, pure bred and mixed) the best vet care I could find -- local, in several states, and even in expensive university intensive care settings.Now comes Dr. Amanda Brown, who is the best diagnostician I have ever had. My beautiful, sweet Birman cat is under her care now. My precious Bella, had not been doing well for months. Three (three!) different vets in Louisville worked with her. Then someone suggested Dr. Brown, whose clinic is far from my house, but I figured my cat is worth more than time and gas.Dr. Brown had Bella fully diagnosed in hours. Bellas situation is complex and quite severe, but we are working hard in efforts to save her.Whatever happens, I want you to know that in my opinion, theres no way you can do better than Dr. Brown anywhere. (Plus her bills are reasonable.) I admire her beyond words.

The Shamrock Foundation is one of Louisvilles local animal welfare/rescue/spay/neuter groups who has been blessed by Dr. Browns generosity and heart for many years.

Hopewell has a wonderful caring staff and doctors. After several appointments with several other veterinarians Hopewell doctors got the diagnosis right immediately regarding my YorkiePoo symptoms...possibly saving her life or extending it.

Even if, as in Buttercups case, there is NOTHING else known to man that can ultimately BE DONE, they display ABSOLUTE care and concern all the way until the end! I was in to see Dr Brown again yesterday with one of my foster puppies and every time i go there, which is fairly often as of late, i am reminded how fortunate i am to have found this place. Not only does she have the knowledge to diagnose and treat the animals but just as important to me, she really CARES about them and treats them as if they were her own pet. She even met me after hours on a weekend to see one of my dogs that was having what i thought was a serious issue.She also works with many of the local rescues which further speaks to her genuine love for the animals. The staff there are also friendly, knowledgeable and helpful AND the place has convenient hours and is open on Saturdays!!!! Can’t say enough good things about Hopewell.

I had adopted a kitten that was 6 weeks old. The shelter I got her from recommended Dr. Brown, so I went to her. At first everything was great, everyone was super nice and helpful. Then my Kitten started getting sick (food sensitivity) so we were in the vet more often. The older the kitten got the sicker she got. My kitten hated most people except for me so was always growling at the vet. Well as she got sicker Dr. Brown told me Im really tired of her being sick, i dont know what else we can do. should just put her down that was after weve ran multiple tests and nothing was getting figured out. I switched Vets and figured out what was actually wrong with my kitten but it was too late and she passed away. Dr.Brown failed to run all the appropriate test to figure out what was wrong because she didnt like my animal and was tired of dealing with her I wont ever go back to this vet. If you want a vet that cares about your animals I would look else where.

Doc Brown and all of the staff at Hopewell are absolutely amazing! I used the same vet for almost 20 years and a couple of years ago when they all got a cough, my vet refused to see them and told me to go to an emergency vet. A friend recommended just calling Hopewell to see what theyd recommend. Doc Brown had me leave the dogs in the car and she came outside, fully suited up so no other clients could catch anything possibly contagious... diagnosed them, gave them meds and they got better. I immediately switched over to Hopewell and dont regret it one bit. From my big GSD babies to my little 5lb yorkie, they take THE best care of my babies from regular check ups, to xrays, surgeries and other visits weve had to make. I recommend them to anyone who wants THE best care for their furbabies!

We have just handed the care and well being of our animals over to her and never waivered. She saved our 7 week old Scottie puppy from the deadly Parvo virus with around the clock care. She nursed back to health our 2 year old Scottie after he had been attacked. Thank you to all and I would highly recommend them.

Dr. Brown stayed in complete conversation along with sending me pics / updates throughout the process. We have used her since Luka came to live with us and have been so pleased with them. She is very reasonable with the expense. Her facility is brand new and most importantly Dr. Brown and her staff have Huge hearts for our 4 legged animals.
