We had adopted a young kitten from the Kentucky Humane Society for our kiddos and shortly after adopting her she experienced a variety of health issues. We ended up at Blue Pearl, where they were incredible in their care for our kitten and how upfront they where on her issues and the estimate to treat them. Our kitten ended up spending two days in the hospital, and the kind staff even took a photo of our kitten so we could show our young kids that she was in good hands. They went above and beyond to keep us informed and now our kitten has made a full recovery. They saved her life, and we’re grateful for their care.

Im forever grateful for the love and care they showed my sweet girl. They were compassionate and kind to me, but they did so much to make my little dog as comfortable as possible when she became terminally sick and we decided to let her go peacefully. The Blue Pearl offers emergency care for cats. We were urged by the Downtown Animal Hospital (our Vet) to take our cat here for an emergency. The team walked us through each step of care. When it came time to handle our cats passing, this team was very kind. The service they provide for end of life care is unlike any I have witnessed before. The care they took to be respectful, give us time and space was beyond what you could expect. After her passing the team sent us a card and called to check on us. When I went to pick up her ashes... the staff was so understanding and soft-spoken. I would recommend anyone to take their pet here, if they can, instead of Jefferson Animal Hospital for emergency needs.

We’ve always had great experiences with blue pearl. I called to see if they could accept our dog last week who was in critical condition, and instead of just trying to get our money, the lady on the phone was honest. She stated that they wouldn’t have a specialist who could take on our case and referred us to metropolitan hospital. She said if they couldn’t take her, that she would help us find somewhere in Lexington. I didn’t just get a “no” and I truly appreciated that. Metropolitan did save our girl.Miranda S.

I made a call and told them what was going on with my dog. They told me it was an emergency and that we needed to bring the dog in immediately and to call when we were 5 min out. My husband sat in the truck with the dog for 4 hours. Once they took our dog back, they came out and said “it could be arthritis”, but to for sure tell you what is going on, it will be over $2000. They then told my husband it would be better served financially to take the dog to its normal vet. Now I see why people I know told me to stay away from here. What. A. JoKe!!!!!!!!

My dog had a rare diagnosis that took us to emergency veterinary clinics several times in his short 3 years. Last week we were faced with having to put our dog down. It happened so quick! After arriving at Blue Pearl they recognized his symptoms were life threatening and immediately took him in. They put him on O2 and the vet quickly assessed our dog. She was very honest and gave us options. The first option was to attempt aggressive measures to save our dog and the second was to euthanize him. It was heart wrenching to make this decision but we realized our dog was suffering and would never fully recover secondary to his diagnoses. The vet and her assistant were very sympathetic and recognized our pain. Honestly, I think it was very hard for them to witness our hurt and pain. After we said our goodbye to our Herbie, they offered to let us spend time with him and seemed empathetic. The assistant walked us out and was very sympathetic. They contacted Herbie’s vet to let her know what happened.Today we returned home from being out of town. They sent us a sympathy card with Herbie’s paw print and wrote sweet messages signed by Dr Bulava and Tracey. I’m confident Dr Bulava and Tracey were the two staff that were with us when we had to say goodbye to our sweet Herbie. At the time we were so upset under we never asked their names. With this being said, thank you for your kindness and concern. Yours is not an easy job when it comes to people and their sick pets. It was obvious by both your actions and demeanor you were placing yourselves in our shoes.

I have never left a bad review anywhere in my life but this place made me so angry. after 2 and a half hours of waiting, and not being told how long the wait would be, they finally took my cat inside. after another hour and a half they called me and said they literally would not do anything for him unless i paid them $1300. they said they do not do payment plans or any options for payment other than out of pocket day of. i told them i would take pain medicine for my pet until i can get him into his regular vet. after 30 more minutes they call me and say that they will bring my pet back to me once i pay $170, $130 of which was just for the doctor telling me i need to pay $1300. after 20 more minutes they returned my cat. i spent 10 minutes short of 5 hours and $170 just told be told to go to the vet. this place might be okay if you’re rich and have nothing but time, but for any normal person i do not recommend. i would not have been 2 and a half hours late to work if they would’ve told me upon arrival how time consuming and expensive this place would be.

I went there with a sick cat that could barely breathe. He was diagnosed with an upper respiratory infection. Staff was nice and clear with what was going to be done to my fur baby. He was given good care, I won’t deny that. It’s great that it’s open 24/7 and that he was seen fairly quick. The reason why I gave it a four star is because how high the prices are. I know it’s emergency care, between blood work, x rays, room and medication, it all piled up to nearly $1000. A whole month’s rent... I may not have a place to live next month but he’ll be ok! 🤣 He’s still feeling bad but I trust what they said, that he’d be better by the fourth day. So if you have the funds, by all means, trust them with their care.

One of the worst experiences I have ever had with a vet.I had to bring my 4 month old puppy here due to an injured paw. Upon arrival and due to social distancing issues I had to stay in truck while they took Nash. The employee that took Nash was friendly and seemed to be empathetic to his situation. After waiting for about 40 minutes, I received a call directly from the vet (Dr Waddle). Her first comments were nothing to do with the care of Nash but how unruly and energetic he was and how difficult it was to examine him. She went on to give her diagnosis of what she thought paw issue was. I then asked her what she thought about his inside toe of his front right paw being swollen. She seemed confused about it and said “oh I didn’t see any swelling anywhere. I’ll have to go look at it again.”.......do what, you didn’t see it.......She then called me back and said, “ yes it is swollen and seems to be a sprain or strain.” She then went on to tell me to expect his throat to be sore because of him tugging on the leash and that they had him tied up......ummmmm this is a vet right? Isn’t it your job to soothe the animal and make them comfortable???? And he’s a puppy who is injured and in an emergency room vet.I DO NOT RECOMMEND anyone taking their pet here for anything. Consider other emergency/specialty vets in the area.

On Saturday evening I rushed my Yorkie w severe neck & back injuries. At first I was pleased with them. That is until $971 later with a 30 minute visit and all they did was give her gabapentin and not enough to even get me through my main doctors appointment with her vet this morning at 8:30 AM I asked him to give me enough gabapentin to get her through the morning they said no obviously I would’ve paid 20 bucks for it but I was not going to scoop my poor aching dog up and put her in the car and put her through more torture in misery and drive her to Blue Pearle so that they could examine her again give me another $971 bill in two droppers full of gabapentin because they didn’t give me enough in the first place. So fast forward to last night; out of medication for my dog that is in severe pain from and neck and back disc spinal issues. I could not get into my primary animal clinic yesterday, so I had to wait until today they only gave me enough medication through Monday morning; so I called last night after I had given her the last dose mid day she was in so much pain and Blue Pearle absolutely would not give me just enough medicine to get her through the night and I had written him a $971 check and they literally had her for a total of 30 minutes. I will never take my dog and I urge anyone that needs any emergency animal hospital to go anywhere at this place. They literally wanted me to gather up my dog that was in severe pain at 9o’clock last night and bring her back in to Blue Pearle when all I needed to do was go get enough medication for my little dog until the morning this place is the worst place in the East End of Louisville!

So I get being an emergency vet and charging “extra for that” but at the same time what would have costed us 1000$ yesterday at blue pearl emergency vet costed us less than 100$ today to fix. (The emergency vet visit costed 230$ last night, and highly recommended us letting them do it, in which I told them no because 🤮)The emergency vet charged us more to bandage the cat up, then the vet is charging us to fix the whole problem. Had it been a real emergency it’s sad that putting the cat down would have been the cheaper option. Thankfully in our case it wasn’t a emergency to where the cat would have died, and our vet even seemed to agree that was a outrageous quote.I’m so glad we have a actual decent vet who doesn’t charge my whole body to take care of my animals. 💗To me this just seems insane. I get up charging for the emergency part but seriously.

This post has taken me some time to write because I’m still dealing with the heartache but I want to share my story.Last August, my puppy (Bella) who was 10 months old woke up and was vomiting and had diarrhea. I took her to Eastside animal hospital who said she was really sick and suggested we take her to blue pearl who could give her an IV. Our vet called blue pearl who said they would need at least $2000 before they would even see her. We immediately drove her over. They told us they would keep her overnight and we could call in a couple of hours to check on her. I called about two hours later and after waiting for a bit, a guy said she was doing better and responding to the IV. Then, about 45 minutes later the vet calls to say Bella was bleeding from her mouth and there was no hope and they wanted to euthanize her. She also said our credit card had reached its $2000 limit and it would be even more expensive and they weren’t even sure if whatever they were going to do would help. She didn’t bother explaining what else they could possibly do. The vet said “she’s just a puppy.”I absolutely could not believe how cold hearted this place was. To give me false hope only to call me 45 minutes later to say there was nothing they could do and even if they were going to do anything, they would need more money was just abhorrent. She never did say what she got could have been wrong with Bella. Bella was 100% vaccinated. They did to Pavo test both came back negative. This by far is the worst thing I have ever encountered in my life. I wish we had chosen somewhere else who had a little bit more compassion and knew what they were doing. What that cold hearted, money hungry vet didn’t know is “just a puppy “ was Bella was the pet I got after my Chihuahua of 11 years had passed a few months earlier so she was more than just a puppy to me. She was my heart and had given me happiness and joy again. ANYONE who has lost a pet knows the heartbreak that just can’t be measured.Don’t take your to Blue Pearl! There are other animal hospitals that I feel strongly if I had taken, Bella might have had a chance and even if she didn’t, I would STILL not be so upset in how they treated me during that awful time.

My dog required a minor procedure after hurting herself in the park. I took her to Blue Pearl right away. My dog can get mean when she’s in pain as she has hurt herself before. I asked if I could use one of their muzzles and put it in my dog. They said yes. Within five minutes, they called me back only to say that due to legal reasons only their staff can apply muzzles to animals. I thought that was fine until they told me that their staff, “didn’t feel comfortable” putting a muzzle on my dog. Isn’t that their job? She’s a 60 pound dog. I was very upset as my dog was in a lot of pain and needed to get this procedure done. I will never go here nor will I refer this place to anyone.

We took my mothers cat who was lethargic, not eating, and was having a hard time breathing. They wanted to do a blood test for $250. At my other vet it is usually $100. Then they tell us that she is anemic, has a heart murmur, and jaundiced. They recommended x-rays, ultrasound, blood transfusion (which alone was $1500) and a 3-5 day stay at the hospital for $6000! We said no and paid $450 for antibiotics, steroids, pain medication, fluids (which I had to request since it was not offered to us), and the blood work.Today we took her cat to my vet. He agreed that the cat was jaundiced and anemic. He recommended chest x-rays, ultrasound, IV fluids, and to spend three days at the vet while continuing the antibiotics and steroids. We were quoted $700.I understand that emergency services should cost more, but at nearly 10x the cost??? The interactions with the vet were alarming and borderline emotionally manipulative. When we said no and that we wanted a second opinion, he said that the cat would likely die that night. When we asked what we could do to make her comfortable through the night, he was reluctant to talk through options.I would only come back to Blue Pearl if my animal was bleeding out outside of my vets hours. But based on other reviews, your animal might die in the car before you are even seen.

We took our 7 month old kitten to Blue Pearl Hospital twice this week. Our regular vet would not take him until March. Cat has been very lethargic, no appetite, fever, eyes sunk back, fluid on his lungs. Blue Pearl sent him home the first night with an antibiotic. We took him two days later and they extracted fluid from his lungs and gave him a B12 shot and diagnosed him with FIP. They sent us an email with the discharge instructions, as they said they were too busy to give them to us when we were there. One suggestion is to start him on a medicine called Mutain. But they gave no directions on how to get it, its cost, its dosage, etc. We called the hospital today and asked how do we get this medicine. We want to save our sick kitten. The receptionist was not helpful at all. She put us on hold to ask those in the back and then came back and told us we could go online and research where to get it. We have done this and there are 100s of sites with different costs and information. How do we know which one is legitimate? Blue Pearl cannot just suggest a medicine to us and send us out on our own. Cant they at least tell us that other patients have tried it and it worked and they went to XXXX to buy or. Cant they stand behind the medicine to at least give us information on where to get it? Through this whole process, Blue Pearl is not being very compassionate nor helpful. I do not recommend them. There are other animal hospitals that we will look for in the future. We are really upset that we will probably lose him, and they have basically dismissed us to research on our own.

Yesterday, on St Patrick’s day, we had to take our 11yr old Lab mix rescue, Gunner, to Blue Pearl ER as our primary vet had no available openings until April. Gunner’s health had significantly deteriorated in recent weeks due to what we thought was tummy trouble, and onset hip dysplasia. He wasn’t eating much and had dropped 10lbs. He was also having difficulty in his hind quarters rising and walking. We needed a diagnosis and a pain management strategy until our primary vet could see us, and having previous experience with Blue Pearl, we didn’t hesitate to take Gunner in. The nearest facility is 1hr from us. We knew as an ER walk-in, just like with human ER, it would be a wait, after triage it was about an hour before he was taken into Dr Talbert.Within 20 min, Dr Talbert was at our truck (COVID precautions) masked, with a preliminary diagnosis. It was not indigestion or hip dysplasia, but something far more serious, a mass which was bleeding internally, a Hemoabdomen. It was heartbreaking, and left us with only two possible options: emergency surgery if he was a good candidate, or humane euthanasia as he was bleeding internally. We were in shock. After much soul searching and consulting our primary vet, we reached a heartbreaking decision. Today, the day after, we are in the final hour, before we will see him through to the next stage of his journey. He will be in amazing company at the Rainbow Bridge, as our lads who’ve passed, are eagerly waiting. Our hearts are heavy. The level of compassion, empathy, and professionalism from every member of staff is amazing. In the worst moments, they were our rock. Other reviews suggest differently, but I tell you this Blue Pearl facility is top notch and the best of the best. We thank everyone who helped us yesterday. You too are forever in our hearts. I will credit Bluepearl and their ER team to saving my dogs life in September. They were able to access my dog and diagnose her with Addisons Disease. Although I knew it would be costly because she had to be admitted, I was told that her disease would be manageable and that eventually we could give her injections at home to help with treatment costs. After many frequent follow up appointments to check her labs paying $120 each visit just to see if she was due for an injection, I asked the vet about lowering her injection for next time so that she can be on a regular monthly dose, and that eventually letting me purchase the medicine from online and do them from home. I was told that was not an option, and that they wouldnt lower dose (although if you research Addisons Disease, you can find up to date information about how a low dose protocol for dogs is beneficial)Found a reputable veterinarian to continue my dogs care else where. She was knowledgeable about low dose protocol for treatment, she said she would teach me how to do the injections at home once we get my dogs dose correct. She reassured me she had many addisons dogs that she is experienced! & Guess what, when I take my dog for lab work it was only $15! Vs the $120 I was paying almost twice a week for almost 3 weeks! This place should be avoided unless an absolutely emergency is happening! I do not recommend for regular treatment.

Horrible experience, when you think of emergency room, youd expect that an animal whose laying half dad pooping and foaming at the mouth would be seen before fido who seems to be completely fine with no physical ailments to be noticed seemed overall good weak being get strolled on in before our little pup. We drive a little over an hour from Indiana Rush there just to be told we had to wait 2 hours for a dog that was literally dying out in the front grass we had to sit in. and nurse actually told us that they would probably be able to get him in sooner because of how bad he looked but no we still set out there for approximately an hour and 45 minutes after explaining the situation several times. I had to actually call and let them know that my dog was about to croak in the grass and they said they would send someone out very shortly while a lady finally came out about a half hour later took a mouth swab for parvo said shed be out in 10 minutes with the results.about a half hour goes by after she swab tested our pup and she said in the puppy was positive for parvo that it would deny him and let us know through over the phone what to do and if it was negative that they would take him inside and check him out. The results unfortunately came back positive and they said for three to $6,000 that they could probably nurse him back to health more than likely. unfortunately I dont have that kind of money nor do I know anyone that does so I took the third option that cost $377 for them to take our little puppy inside and give him antibiotics and anti-nauseamedicine. Literally about 10 to 15 minutes at the most go by and we get a phone call to come pick up and pay the bill ended up being almost $400 and he came out and same condition as we dropped him off in their care 2 to 3 hours to go by after we get home and hes getting increasingly worse his condition deteriorating rapidly he couldnt move he was moaning and groaning and pain screaming we tried everything we could to comfort it we went even called back the veterinarian clinic several times and asked what we could do to ease the pain or make things a little more comfortable and to help him not be in such agony. the reply was to simply get him hospitalized which would cost three to six thousand dollars thats outrageous. they refused having any knowledge of having over the counter remedies or at home remedies to help ease the pain or to help it at all comfort it or anything she kept insisting there was nothing else we could do except have us bring him down and spend more money. bottom line they are money hungry all they want is your money do not care about your animal,!!! we are very upset about this because we brought him down there in a semi-bad state and he was then treated by their employees and sent home. 4-5 hours after we brought little Uzi home he died in our living room. We had to sit and watch our puppy suffer and die in extreme agony after paying nearly 400 dollars for our pup to be seen for no longer than 15 minutes and when we called from home severAl times we were denied any remedies we could procure at hone just to soothe and ease the suffering. Their main concern was money. They kept insisting that we bring him back down and have him hospitalized even though Ive explained we live over an hour away and dont have the funds!!! Not to mention he left in extremely worse conditions than when brought in!!! Complete and udder disregard for compassion or humanity. Honestly completely cold hearted......

Ive used this facility twice for 2 different dogs. Once for a consultation with a neurologist and once to bring in my boxer who passed away on a Saturday. My feeling about this hospital is mixed. The staff left me feeling that, in both cases, money was their primary concern and top priority. I have no issue with the vets but i feel the fees are excessively high and some cases unwarranted. Example - recently I had a very sick dog that needed to be stabilized and possibly an Ultrasound. It was a weekend. I called BluePearl and was told the ultrasound was $400+ and there would be a $200 CALL-IN fee. I decided to wait until Monday. My vet charged $300 period... Something is wrong when there is that big of a price difference for the same services. Bottom line. What difference does it matter how good the vets are if one cannot afford their services.

Dr. Cummings is without a doubt, by far, the best veterinarian I have ever dealt with - even entirely over the phone. I felt that he was thorough, knowledgeable, trustworthy, personable, and patient in explaining procedures, prognosis, treatment options, and every other question and concern I had. I didnt feel that he pressured or tried to sway my decision in any way about the treatment options for my dog, and he was open to my suggestions, such as prescribing an alternative medication that was available as a liquid. Overall a good experience for a not good situation.

This was the best experience in an awful situation. We had to bring our boy Thor up late at night because something was horribly wrong. We ended up having to put him down but Dr. Singh was amazing. She gave us all of our options and the reality of the situation. She was very kind. All of the staff that we came in contact with were great and very caring. We were even allowed to bring Thor’s brother in to say goodbye. We just received a sympathy card from Dr. Singh and it even has an ink paw print of our boy. Thank you all so much for being there in our time of need.Dion, Ashly and Zeus

We went to the BluePearl here in Louisville KY and their staff and veterinarian Dr. William Baker took amazing care of us in the very difficult process of euthanizing our beloved cat. The doctor was very caring and patient with us. He allowed us all the time we needed and listened as we shared our stories and shed our tears. I could not imagine a veterinarian handling the situation any better than he and the staff did. I was also very pleasantly surprised at the very fair cost of the services received. All in all they were a real Godsend for us! Thanks!

Hard to express in words my gratitude to the many staff who saved my cats life yesterday. They were kind, thorough, honest, and attentive. They gave good explanations of diagnosis and treatment options, and because they gave cost estimates up front, there were no surprises at checkout. They kept her warm and as comfortable and safe as possible. They didnt push pricey procedures, but offered them if I chose them. All in all, for a scary day and expectedly expensive experience, they gave us everything we needed to get through it as painlessly as possible. Bringing our cat home last night was one of the greatest joys in the world. Happy New Year and THANK YOU. Today is her 15th birthday, and thanks to you, we have more days, hopefully months or longer with our pet. Expect to wait outside due to COVID, and probably for some time, just as in any ER, but know that theyre taking great care, being compassionate and doing everything they can to help. Thanks again.

I took my dog Vader there and they did the “cadillac” of checkups to see why he had blood in his urine an a week later after taking the script it’s still ongoing. Now they want me to go to my primary vet and get my dog to a specialist. So why did I waste almost $900 dollars going there and they did an ultrasound to tell me I need to go to a specialist. I feel like I wasted my money on that trip and back to square one. I will never return to this place

I absolutely love this place! The staff is very professional and all seem to be very caring of the animals that come in and out of there. I brought in a 3 week old kitten that we found, whose siblings had all died because the mother had abandoned them. We arrived around 1:00am as they are one of the only places open that late, and we were afraid the kitten might not make it through the night. They took him in, did a full exam, fed him and made sure he was healthy. I had never taken care of a kitten this young before and the staff took the time to show me exactly how to feed and care for him. One of the staff was even nice enough to give me her personal number if I had any further questions as she fosters cats on the side. Do not be steered away by the comments that say they felt as if the money was more important than the animals. After all they did for us they did not charge us! I was ready to pay whatever price to keep this kitten alive and was shocked that they didnt charge us. I was beyond pleased with my experience and would reccomend this place to everyone

My family and I have had 2 boxers put to sleep here in the last year. Both Gertie and Mickey were old dogs and had lived great lives. Dr Clements helped us with Gertie and Dr Baker with Mickey. They make a really tough time, as easy as it possible can be. Their professionalism and their compassionate bedside manner is unmatched. They don’t rush or do anything but help and listen. I hate going here bc of the circumstances but Blue pearl is top notch and our dogs deserved the best. The front desk and all associates, nurses etc. are absolutely wonderful. I can’t say enough about these amazing people that work there, my dog Brooklyn was old and had been struggling, he had an appt for later in the week at another facility, but coming home from work he seemed to have had a stroke or something of that nature, it was late at night and I didn’t know what to do, but I soon realized what had to be done, we were greeted on the phone by a friendly staff, and instructed on what to do. They came outside to get him and were very friendly to me and so loving to brook, we were soon escorted into a comfort room and they went over everything in detail........the vet then explained step by step what was going to happen and explained that this was about how much time I needed and they would respect my wishes and needs. I didn’t need long but it was an experience I’ll never forget because they made it so nice and comforting, I said good bye to him as he slowly passed away. Afterwards they assured me they would take good care of him, even though he had already passed away that was very comforting. I recommend them to anyone, their love and kindness is at a level I cannot put into words, thank you everyone for everything and for being so good to my Brooklyn Newyork.

While the surgery went fine and our cat did great, we were completely left out to dry trying to find her prescription food day of surgery. Surprisingly, nowhere in town carried the specific food our cat needed!Youd think after dropping a couple bands on surgery and hospitalization theyd have SOME plan regarding food, right? Like maybe theyd have procured some before discharging? Nope, completely stuck without cat food for our poor post operation kitty. That oversight alone was enough to destroy any goodwill I had with them and I highly recommend they consider the recovery phase for patients going forward.Edit: luckily, after making some calls they got in touch with our regular vet and found a temporary solution until they could order more of the correct food. Im glad they remedied the situation, but I cant help but feel this is the only thing keeping our visit perfect. At the end of the day my kittys good and thats all that matters 😺

I took my cat here yesterday because she was not eating or drinking and very lethargic. I was told I would need to wait in the parking lot until the initial assessment from the vet so the vet could come out and talk to me about treatment. I waited for 1.5 hours just to have the vet CALL my cell phone, which will work anywhere in the world, to tell me they were going to do blood work and an “organ test”. Half of my afternoon was wasted - I have a career - and still had work to do. Just a week before, my other adult cat had the VERY same symptoms, was treated at our regular vet with antibiotics and steroids, we were charged $275 for everything, and she bounced right back in 24 hours. I had to tell the staff at Blue Pearl this information twice and that she just probably needed the same treatment. They STILL tried to loop me into spending tons of extra money for an X-ray- I declined, and the bill was still almost triple that of the other vet bill for my other cat. Also, when my husband went to pick her up, he waited an HOUR in the parking lot just waiting for her to be brought out after being told she would be ready in 20 minutes. This place has no empathy for people’s’ busy schedules or their bank accounts. We will not be bringing our pets back to this place. My 14 year old cat died 2 years ago, and after reading other reviews, I truly wonder if he would still be alive if he had gone anywhere else.

This veterinary clinic is hands down the best I have EVER been to. They went WAY above and beyond when I came in with my puppy. They were aware that I didn’t have much money to pay for the expensive costs of my dogs illness and they STILL had me come in. Not one was rude or told me they couldn’t see me without the 300+ dollars my bill cost. They did everything to help me and lower my bill to a manageable rate and even told me where to go for after care. They were so sweet to my baby and even managed to put me at ease in a parvovirus situation. They sent me home with everything I would need to keep her hydrated and feeling better. This place has the most compassion and was one of the only emergency vets that offered to see her even though I could not afford the emergency bills. They were so kind and I really can not express how much I appreciate what they did for me and my sweet doggy. She isn’t out of the clear yet but thanks to them she took a giant leap forward! First of all, I only gave 5 Stars so I could post this for you because with no stars you cannot post your view instead of review, and my review is as follows: In my opinion, as a compassionate individual for others, a cat lover, a person that is respect all forms of life God created on this Earth I have this to say: That any ONE individual person, group, facility, or otherwise any entity involved in what they claim to care about in this capacity mentioned above. I contacted Blue Pearl as they were referred to me by my veterinarian. I have limited funds and contacted Blue Pearl because not only was I concerned about my little feline friend, I was concerned about getting her proper care for her ailment that is definitely an emergency. My main concern was my financial situation. When I contacted BluePearl to inquire the amount of a deposit that would be required, I didnt even get to try to explain the urgency of my needs and my little feline companion and her needs. I was told immediately that up on service all fees were due at time of the treatment or service given. AKA we dont care about your pet as long as we get paid what we are owed, and what we are owed is what we deem is the proper price. In other words, money is more important than your feline friend. I understand that this is not the Humane Society, who actually cares for Animals because they adjust in a pay scale as it should be for the Humane Society, which explains why it is called humane, and is where I will take my feline friend. I would certainly want a caring provider to see my feline friend and what happened bespeaks for Blue Pearl is one that does not or has not any care for my feline friend and her life. Because as far as Im concerned, if you have true compassion and wish to care in a compassionate way with caring and love for AND in what you do, you do it with that attitude and actually CARE about the situation at hand, and put the financial aspect out of sight and out of mind. So, Its more important in the financial aspect to Blue Pearl than the possible death of another persons heart and soul that is in a little feline? I am appalled. I have met doctors and specialists in the human field that have this attitude. That to me, is heinous. That they are in the money business and pay attention not to those who actually need the care and help, but those that financially support the caregivers pocketbook. Cudos2u Blue Pearl, for being one of the money mongers of the world.

If I could give this place a zero, I absolutely would. I wish I could’ve seen these reviews before I gave them another chance with our pug. There’s even a Facebook group called “blue Pearl horror stories”. If that doesn’t tell you something, I dunno what to say.We took in our pug because she was very lethargic and breathing very heavily. They took her from our car, because we could not enter because of covid, which I understand. They immediately started talking “price” right out of the gate for an IV and catheter. They “examined” her and said she needed scans, X-rays and blood work. “That will cost 6-800 dollars”. Once again, always talking prices, nothing about caring for our beloved pug. We waited about 45 mins. They tell us “we are going to continue to monitor her and will call with the results of the tests and scans/X-rays”. They then tell us they will have to keep her overnight. “It will cost another 600 or so dollars to keep her overnight and monitor her”. ALWAYS ABOUT PRICE.My girlfriend calls in the morning and we were told “she did just great overnight, she ate, drank and her breathing was much better. She might have a slight infection, it’s up to you if you want an antibiotic or not”. Of course we want an antibiotic! You’re the doctor! You should be telling us.I go to pick up our sweet baby and she can BARELY make it across the parking lot. And they tell me “she’s just fine, here’s your antibiotic, have a good day”. She’s obviously not fine AT ALL! She still had labored breathing and could barely walk. How are you going to send a dog who can barely walk and breathe home saying “she’s just fine?!”We took her to our personal vet and within an hour, they found a TUMOR and FLUID in her lungs and stomach! If we would have know this, we wouldn’t have let her SUFFER for 3 DAYS! After the diagnosis from an actually vet who cares, we had to put her down. We would’ve done this right away if this place ACTUALLY DID THEIR JOB! There is no way they did anything they charged me for, it’s just not possible.Stay far far far away from this place. They only care about money and do not perform the services in which they charge for. They don’t care about your animals at all. I have already disputed our charges and will be filing a negligence suit against them. I will continue to try and keep people away from here for as long as I am alive. They failed our sweet pug and our family. Please don’t let them fail you. STAY AWAY!Update: they still have never returned my phone calls nor have given any of my money back. This place is criminal and basically stole my money. They’re scared to face the music when it comes down to responsibility!

Dr. Cummings, Dr. Rizzo, and Dr. Winthrop have all been compassionate, kept me up to date, and they did save her live both times for me. Before Covid they allowed me to visit her everyday. I was placed in one of the patient rooms and she was wheeled in, hooked up to her machines, and I was able to spend time with her. The second time, Covid regulations had been in place, and they brought her to the car and allowed me to spend time with her. I would actually give them 4.5 stars. I have used Blue Pearl for emergency visits and non-emergency visits over the past year for my kitty. The staff is very helpful and friendly. From the time spent there, I noticed how they quickly and efficiently they push aside all else to prioritize any situation where the animals life is in jeopardy. (In some cases, this may mean longer waiting time for you and your pet. However, I do respect their decision to treat those who are in critical, life-or-death conditions first.) Further, if you are fortunate to get him, Dr. Cummings is a terrific vet. He is personable, patient, and informative.) My only hesitation with Blue Pearl was a one-time situation where there was a push to do surgery, that I felt like was a premature recommendation. My kitty is 17 and we had not even received results from lab work-ups that had to be sent out. Thus, my only recommendation is to sit on the idea of surgery, if recommended, so that your emotions (as in my case) dont inform such important decisions. If you know the latter going in, then I think you will love Blue Pearl and be glad you opted to use them.

Our 12 year old English Bulldog, Buttercup, was panting heavily and disoriented. She clearly was having trouble breathing and had dried sputum around her nose and mouth. We took her to our primary vet who took a chest xray, diagnosed her with pneumonia, and recommended she receive oxygen and get to the ER. She recommended Blue Pearl, and I can see why. The moment we arrived, a staff member immediately noted Buttercup’s labored breathing and hied her away to the oxygen tank. The vet on the premises, Dr. Richburg, ran a number of comprehensive tests on our dog and ran a full CBC panel while also taking several chest X-rays. They immediately diagnosed her pneumonia and gave her intravenous antibiotics and sedated her to decrease her anxiety and try to better control her breathing. Had it not been for their immediate and timely intervention, our girl would most likely have asphyxiated herself and died. She was able to be released to our care after 24 hours of supervision and is now able to take oral antibiotics. Her breathing is back to normal. I couldn’t be more grateful for all of your help. Thank you again so much and I won’t hesitate to recommend you to anyone who could benefit from your excellent services. We appreciate you tremendously.
