The office people are nice its a really huge complex. And maintenance is thin stretch because of the virus i can only imagine. They have a usable small stork out room and a pool with awesome grill and a place to sit and eat and the living is pretty decent and they are building a hospital right next door. And close to all the major fast food and gas stationsThe only thing is not much of it wheelchair accessible kinda gotta use common sense
This place is a joke & a waste of money. Live literally anywhere else. Maintenance “fixed” a hole in the ceiling that occurred in the bathroom from humidity and the bathroom not being sealed properly. Their fix was to throw some mud on the ceiling and call it a day. They don’t respect their tenants, respect their business, or care enough to respond to tenant’s issues.
Be very leery of Management here. Go above their head and fact check everything that they may tell you or either concerns that you may have. Rose Dupas, the Property Manager, is a piece of work and very rude toned! Her manner of speaking to Residents is just plain awful! The upper Management needs to have her enrolled in Customer service ettiquette training immediately! This property also cannot keep Maintenance men due to the Property Managers disgusting attitude . The property grounds are well kept and garbage is taken out promptly. I have a malignant Maintenance issue that keeps coming up in my apartment and Rose is so discourteous trying to rush me and my issue off the phone quickly. I can just imagine how she treats Residents who are too timid to speak up to her.
Apartments are a bit older but they have been renovated with new apliances, flooring, and carpeting. Super great, helpful and friendly staff. Maintenance is friendly as well and they take care of the issues pretty quickly. The rent is a bit high but its worth the peace and quiet.
Prices for these apartments are misleading. On their websites is say for a 3 bedroom that it is 1,163 but when you call the office staff says that is is 1,299. When placing a application check first because they are practically lying to potential residents.
This place is not worth it. I have been living there for the last 5 years and each administration got even worse. I just moved out and was waiting for a glass door in the living room to be replaced, for 5 months and never got it!There was a leak in the roof that became a constant leaking that after many complaints and enduring the lack of respect from the administration of the place, they ended up covering it after 4 months! I had a flood of the washing machine pipes and when I called the emergency line, no one came! I had to personally go to the office to get someone to go and do something.I always paid my rent on time, but these people DO NOT know how to treat tenants with respect. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THAT PLACE TO ANYONE !!
DO NOT waste your time and money on these apartments!! I’m currently living here and I have had problems with roaches and mice!! Never have I ever been through this. Im beyond upset.
The quality of the newly remodeled Apts are not worth the rent
I lived here for over a year, Aug 2019 to Oct 2020 from the start I never had an issue with anything. My rent was what they said it would be, when I had issues with any of the maintenance they took care of it for me right away. The guys always treated me well and took care of the mess if there was one. When I first moved in Soren was a great help getting me the help I needed to get into the apartment. I had so credit issues from years past. With Covid19, they worked with me, I kept them posted on my issue with the Kentucky unemployment not getting payments out and they they worked with me. Yes when I did get he funds as noted I did pay them. My Gas bill was lower that Soren that it would be. I never had my car broke in and they continued to clean the grounds ups all summer long. Never had issue with over flowing trash, they emptied it I think twice a week. When i had to move do to work they also worked with me on my month to month lease. If I need to move back to the area I would look at Breckinridge Square Apartments again. Thanks Soren for all the great support!
They overcharge rent and lie about utility rates. My roommate ( and several other people ) got her car broken into and I had several instances of my stuff not where I left it. We were told we would only pay around $80 for utilities but no more than $120 (in winter times), after we signed the lease we were paying at least $115 every month and in the winter months (which werent harsh ) $180. our apartment constantly smelled like cigarettes and there were several crimes in the area with police investigation being involved- but the office refused to tell us anything. These people will lie to take all the money you have... DONT WASTE YOUR TIME!!!
After four years of living here, Im pleased to be leaving. Not only did they try to raise my rent (without being a renovated unit and without warning) AFTER I signed my lease, but they have no regard for maintenance issues. The rent was fixed after I had called the property management group and said they could hear from a lawyer if they did not get my rates back to what I signed for or let me out of my lease free of charge. They gave me a $50 credit each month and told me not to tell any of the other residents because they normally do not do this kind of thing.I once called because the ceiling in my second bedroom was leaking and at 3am was told we needed to wait because there was nothing they could do at that moment. It wasnt until I almost yelled at the maintenance guy to at least get a bucket in the attack because things would have been ruined.Even after the roof had been replaced, there were still new water marks appearing everywhere and nothing done about it until it leaks through.Sometimes they do not call you to get permission to go into your apartment when it suits their needs, even if you have a dog. There are bugs and mice, and not much done about these.Your money would be better spent elsewhere. Great area but too expensive now.
We have been in our home for 3 years and are happy! The staff work hard to provide a well kept complex and offer a caring feel to the community. We have not lived in an apartment before moving here, but are blessed to call this our home.
I have been living here for over a year now. I love living here, the location is perfect and the quality of the apartment/townhouses and great for the money. The staff and maintenance crew are beyond excellent. Any time I have a small or big maintenance issue, they will respond almost instantly. The front office is always having some type of get together with there tenants to keep them involved and show there appreciation towards us.Overall its a awesome place to live in a great location. I highly recommend if you are looking for a apartment or townhouse, visit here!
I have only been living here for a month but I absolutely love it here. The apartments are very nice the grounds are clean the complex is quiet even at night. I have not heard loud music or any loud disturbance since moving in. The gym is pretty awesome too. The staff has been nothing but nice and helpful and the other residents so far have all been polite. I would recommend Breckinridge Square Apartments to anyone looking to move to the East End of Louisville. Pretty much any service I need is less that one mile away.
I have resided at Breckinridge Square since December 2013. The entire staff has been compassionate, caring and when there was an issue with my apartment, they responded in a timely manner. Every effort is taken to make sure the children are safe. When I say compassionate, that exactly what I mean. I was very unsure when I gave up my home and move to the complex. However, due to bilateral hip surgery and caring for a very sick member of my family, I was unable to climb stair are care for my home. My family member passed away. For a couple of days my car was not moved. Because of the fact that I was constant on the move, the staff became very concerned. They contacted my family and came to my apartment to make sure I was OK. There has been numerous other incidents that I needed assistance and the staff was there for me. I have lived in other apartment that were not concerned about the condition of the complex, were not friendly and did not care about the residents.
When I say this was the worst apartment ever! Cockroaches the large kind that they said were “water bugs” on the second floor.. I had to finally get the office to spray the entire building after 6 months of spraying that didn’t help. The bugs came to every room bedrooms, living room never by the pipes if they were “water bugs”I believe the only reason they went away was because of it being winter. I moved from a house that never had a bug problem except for spiders which is expected.. They were bought by a new company that just painted and remodeled but that doesn’t fix the issue. I had something like squirrels or mice in the walls you hear scratching and going up the walls.. absolutely awful. Yes it’s spacious but the apartments need to be tore down and rebuilt. A lot of hidden charges with water, gas and then when it was time to sign a new lease they want you to pay for insurance on the building on top of your rent just in case something happens to the building but it doesn’t cover your personal belongings.. Debra is clueless and will say anything to get you in the door. The parking lot is awful, it’s rundown.. Save your money and time and go somewhere else.
I needed a short-term lease while I was house-hunting. The process was quick and the prices were the most reasonable I found in the Louisville area. While the apartment wasnt what I would consider luxury, it was very clean and I didnt require any maintenance during my time there. Office staff was great and super nice. The apartment complex in general is very quiet and my only complaint is that people drive too fast through the complex.
I moved out of my apartment and turned in my keys on November 26, 2018 and had trouble from management about returning my damage deposit. After leaving a harsh review on Google Maps, a member of management reviewed my case and corrected the paperwork discrepancy so that my deposit could be returned on 1 March 2019. Better late than never.
I’ve lived here since the 1st of April, so almost two months. My apartment is newly renovated. New appliances, paint and carpet. The carpet is uneven around my dining area, it’s uncomfortable under my feet, but no issues anywhere else. My apartment is very quiet, I hardly hear my neighbors. I have had to put in two maintenance requests since I’ve lived here (one was my fault lol) and both times, they have come the very next day. Staff is very friendly and easy to reach. I like it here so far!
Ive lived here for two years and I cant really complain. Its a wonderful location, very quiet neighbors, and close to almost anything youd want. Id recommend it to anyone!!
I lived in 2 different apartments for my 3 1/2 years at Breckinridge. I moved out this week and I cant be more relieved. These apartments need to be tore down and rebuilt. Where they are sitting is a total sinking swamp. My apartment and many of my neighbors apartment flooded with water damage and mildew, with all the moisture there had to be mold. They wouldnt replace carpet only put a fan under it. It smelled and emergency maintenance was more like talk you through it over the phone than actually arrive to fix problems. The staff was friendly but not readily available to answer phones or to talk with in their office. The location is great and I did enjoy the pool but everything is very outdated and needs to be replaced not just painted over. Way over priced for the quality of life you have to deal with there. I am glad to not have to deal with so many maintenance issues any longer and a smelly bedroom.
Great Place to Live and an awesome location! The staff is Fantastic with excellent customer service!
Awesome place! Really well kept grounds, apartments are HUGE, lots of amenities and really friendly staff! Living here feels more like living in a gated community than an apartment complex. I really enjoy the monthly newsletter, the community activities and contests. It really keeps everyone engaged and gives it that neighborhood kind of feel. The whole moving in process was very simple and the staff was very helpful accommodating. If I had to list a drawback it would be the parking is not ideal as my unit is located furthest from the lot but I am more than happy to get a few extra steps in to start my day! 5/5 stars, would recommend, in fact already have recommended to several people I know!
If I could, Id give the staff 0 stars.. Ive been waiting for my refund on my application fees for almost 3 weeks..... They suck!
Love this place new pool, gym and nice people
Folks are helpful and friendly and willing to do whatever is necessary to make your stay comfortable and pleasant.
Seriously cannot wait to MOVE! This complex is bull! Not only does the rent ALWAYS ALWAYS GO UP. There also NEVER any parking spots near your building you have to park far which sucks when you have 3 kids under 4 an have groceries to carry. On top of that they take FOREVER to fix anything! From the air not working in the summer to the heat not working in the winter. To our water just running non stop (we couldnt turn it off they took FOREVER TO FIX THIS (keep in mind you pay for water here)To our cold water doesnt work its luke warm (this has been going on for atleast 2 months they still have not fixed it)Man the list goes on.We PAY WAY TO MUCH TO HAVE SO MANY ISSUES which could be fine IF THEYD FIX THESE ISSUES.Our kitchen light went out Friday its Tuesday an its still not fixed! Seeing as theres no windows in the kitchen its DARK in there which makes it hard to cook etc. (They never put in a stove light like we asked nor an over the sink light like we asked them to do 10 months ago) Im just so ready to GO!Plus we randomly get water bugs we called for opc (they make you PAY for this regardless) and they still have not came!Rent sounds good til they add in utilities which can be higher than rent your own house!
I came in Saturday afternoon with my children. We road around the complex and very pleased with the up keeping with the lawn and trash. The signs are a little confusing but we eventually found the office. There was a nice pool with a lot of kids swimming in. As we was walking up to the office there was this young lady with reddish hair smoking a cigarette which I believe you should not be doing while people are walking up wanting to view your complex, some people are allergic to the smoke but she was on the phone yelling and cussing someone, I wanted to walk away right then and there. I was looking at it this may not even be someone that works here. We go inside and stand looking around to see if anyone was going to come help me. To my surprise that young lady walks in and takes a set behind a desk and ask what I was looking from I proceed to tell her I was looking for around a month or two to move and a two bedroom two bath apartment or townhouse she tells me that there wont be anything available until three months. I ask if there was a model of any kind that I can see, and told No there wasnt, she pulls out a piece of paper with a layout of the apartments that I was interested in. As Iam talking with her about deposits her cell phones rings again! I didnt get a excuse me Im sorry that I have to take this, its important she just talks it walks a few steps and starts talking with someone two minutes later... Lets just say I had to get up and walk out! I have never had my kids hear such fail language. I wouldnt repeat that to anyone. A young lady should never speak like that especially in their place of business. This girl was so unprofessional I wouldnt dare have her work in my place of business and work leasing apartments. I will NOT ever give this place a reference to a friend not even my worst enemy. I can only imagine how the others in this office acts like.
Absolutely love this place and the people that run it. All of our needs are met in a timely manner and our dogs love it here too.
This by far the worst apartment complex in Louisville. Office staff is nice to your face and then nasty afterwards. Constant maintenance issues. Exterior appearance is nice at the front of the complex, but the further you descend in the complex to worse it gets. Do not move here.
Todays date is October 13, 2015, and I currently live here but I am counting down the days when my lease is up. This apartment complex is a complete lie from the day that you move in. My girlfriend and I were given a sheet to fill out of the things that we saw were in need of repairs. Over half of the list that we created have yet to be repaired, replaced, or fixed period, and we moved in during the month of June.I will confirm that the pool is nice, but you can only have 1 guest per resident in the apartment. Not much fun at all.Residents are nice for the most part, however you do have a few neighbors who over step boundaries when it comes to minding their own business!!!Office staff members are kind with the exception of Melanie the manager who mysteriously no longer works for the complex. There are hidden fees for almost everything that they dont tell you until you sign. Like a $100 fee for not removing the waste of your pet. Which is fine if they actually monitored whos dog pooped where and when. Someone tried to report my girlfriend and I and our 3 month old dog, but we were not the one leaving the poop but a neighbor. There is a $100 fee for everything but breathing. The buildings from a far look beautiful and clean but once you are up close you can see the much needed repairs! Paint chipping, terrible smells in the hallways, trash left in the laundry rooms...just a mess! The model that they show is in no way they same as what you eventually live in. There arent any real light fixtures to the apartments, or at least not in mine. Which is truly annoying and something that you dont normally notice until you reach for a light switch and realize that there isnt one there!!!The parking lot is a semi headache to deal with because you have people who will park along your side of the building and fill up all of the spaces, when there are plenty of parking spaces in front of the doors that they enter IN A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT BUILDING!!!Just entirely too many issues and not enough solutions and efforts being made to fix them. My advice, DO NOT RENT FROM BRECKINRIDGE SQUARE. FOR WHAT YOU WILL PAY, IT IS COMPLETELY NOT WORTH IT!!!
My family and I enjoyed most of our time at Breckinridge Square. The buildings are old, but newly renovated. We had very few issues regarding maintenance, but when it was needed we were helped within a day or two. Unfortunately the helpfulness of management got worse when ownership changed at the end of 2017.We moved out last month due to $200 raise in rent under the new ownership. It has been very difficult working with management moving out. We called to schedule our move-out walk through several times without success. When they say they will call you back they NEVER do. We werent able to get the walkthrough done until we came to the office in person and they happened to have the staff available.I am writing this review now because they charged us an extra gas bill. Our lease ended on June 29, 2018 and on July 1, 2018 we received our June gas bill. On July 17, 2018 we received an email with our move-out statement which showed a gas bill being deducted from our deposit. We talked to the office in person, but they were unwilling to work with us. They insisted that gas bills are always delayed.” However, to my knowledge we have already paid a gas bill for each month of our lease. We enjoyed our time at Breckinridge Square, but unfortunately I am unable to recommend living here due to the management under new ownership and our move-out experience.
Save yourself the trouble. Your building will really determine the shadiness of the people you live with. The management lost track of our rent payments twice and tried to give us late fees, and tried to keep our security deposit because of it. If you decide to live there, keep a paper trail of everything. I personally would not recommend
My lease agreement said rent would be 845 a month and it has never once been 845, but yet it can be 1000 every month. Over charged rent every time..
Without a doubt the worst place Ive had the misfortune to live. Within 6 months I had my vehicle vandalized (over 2500 in damages), had my property stolen just from doing laundry and had numerous complaints about the disgusting way things were kept around these apartments. No one cleans after their dogs, people smoke anywhere they want inside and very often laundry washers and dryers are broken down or leaking all over. Those complaints were never even seen to or paid any attention not to mention the constantly rotating staff who are so confused and unorganized. Those are but a few of the many issues with this place. If I had one single suggestion its to do what I should had done in the first place and that would be avoid this place at ALL COSTS if your property and comfort mean anything to you!
I have lived here since July 2014. The office staff has ALWAYS been very helpful and polite. My apartment has been renovated and I LOVE IT!!!! I have NEVER had any issues that was not taken care of as soon as I reported it. Im not sure what the other post are talking about with how run down the place looks because I have drove around the entire complex several times and EVERYTHING IS NICE AND CLEAN. They dont tolerate garbage all over or abandon cars or dog dropping all over. At 8 in the morning I see maintained workers out picking up trash and looking at apts to see if there are any issues they can see. I was recommended by a tenant and they gave her 300.00 off her rent without either of us begging them to do so. I recommended a friend and they call me to tell me I will be getting 300 of my rent. I have ABSOLUTLY NOTHING BAD TO SAY ABOUT THIS PLACE. Home is what you make it, and some folks just like to be nasty and say negative things. I for one will give credit where credit is due and this is an awesome place to live. The only complaint I MAY have is that the parking spaces are narrow, I wish they were wider. I love my home, and ALL MY FRIENDS want to come and live here after they see my place. Some folks are just trifling and its them that makes a place look run down, when you tear your patio screen door off the hinges and leave it propped up. THAT BECAUSE THEY ARE TRIFLING, has nothing to do with management or the complex. But as I said, once I report YOUR torn off screen door, maintenance comes and fixes it. so dont believe the hype. Drive over on a Saturday or Sunday in the afternoon and see how quite and peaceful it is. See how clean it is and make the choice for yourself.
I don’t know what you are all talking about with how well this Apartment complex responds. I have had nothing but issues since move in. I moved in April 27. On May 2 I did a maintenance request for the items that I had issues with. No one came out until May 21 or so to even address the issues. Yes, Chris was very nice. One issue I had was my ice maker did not work. He turned on the line he said and to let him know. I did another request about the ice maker still not working and that Chris told me to let him know. I did another request on May 22nd. It is June 3rd and I still have no ice! Now it’s not like my toilet is overflowing but I rented April 27. Paid 4 months in advance!!!! And I can’t get ice by June 3rd? Waited long enough for the first request and I went in to ask when that was happening. The office is crazy. I do understand they are not in the clubhouse anymore but this is still a business. I never got my mail keys. Asked twice. Never heard so got from post office myself. I did get reimbursed that price but not all my time. They were very quick to put a note on my door not even a month after I moved in that my lease was up end of August and what my new increased amount would be. Hmmm not even a month here. I can’t get maintenance and they screwed up on the rental side what I had paid and what my charges really were according to lease. I only deal with manager now and she did straighten it out but is it a coincidence I got the letter the next day of what my new rent will be if I stay past end of August? Hmmm not even a month after I moved in. That came quick but I can’t get ice nor mail keys. It’s ajoke. So I’m sure I’ll get another warning about rent again tomorrow because of this review. This place is a joke. Sorry guys. Just telling truth. Get organized. And get me ice!!!!!
Things have changed for the better. I love the new gym.
I found Breckinridge Square on multiple rental websites after searching for months for an apartment! I called and talked to someone in the office and was told the price for the monthly rent, thinking I could afford it. I take off work to go tour and sign a lease, turns out it’s all FALSE ADVERTISING. The price I was quoted on the phone was hundreds of dollars less than what they told me when I got there. Thanks for wasting my time and money.
Several issues with this place. First, they have a mice and bug infestation that hasnt been addressed in a timely manner. The bugs keep reappearing even after pest control sprays. Maintenance is slow to respond so the health department was notified.Secondly, there is very limited parking for the number of units often times tenants are forced to park quite a ways away from their building entrance.Lastly, the rent is way too high for the quality of the living space which could use several updates.
I lived here for a year, and I can can safely say it one of the worst places I have ever lived. The problems started when we moved into the apartment, only to realize that the apartment we had been shown was much different than the one that was leased to us. There were constant maintenance issues that meant the water was shut off frequently, the laundry room was unavailable for use for weeks at a time, and the parking lot resembled an obstacle course because of all the potholes. The apartment complex was also very dirty, when we moved in there was cat food and bobby pins throughout the whole apartment, and on more than one occasion a neighbor dragged a broken garbage bag across the steps, and the rotting food was left for days. The office staff is also very rude, condescending, and blatantly lied to my face on more than one occasion. When there was a misunderstanding about the 60 days notice, it seemed as if they went out of their way to be rude and difficult. This was especially true of the office manager, Melanie. The only redeeming quality of this place were the maintenance men, they were always very nice and prompt. I would advise anyone who is thinking of renting here to strongly reconsider if any other option is available.
Hi: I have lived here @ BreckingridgeSq approximately 3 yrs. During which a family member expired, The staff, was very compassionate and took great care to make sure I was OK. If you have issues they respond quickly. There was an incident of a teen bulling a nine year. That family had been warned, however, did not comply and told to leave. BreckingridgeSq is very safe, friendly as well as compassionate. I am 68 yrs. young and plain on moving to a one Apt. because the staff are very observatant . I actually was ill one week car hasnt moved and they came to my apt. to make sure I was OK. In fact the staff is like family. I difficulty would give BreckingridgeSq a 5.
We absolutely love love love it here! We moved in a couple months ago, and have had nothing but wonderful experiences from the day we came in to look at the apartments. Staff has always been super friendly and helpful, maintenance is on point. I called with a minor issue and they were over at my apartment within 10 minutes and the problem was fixed. One of the things I love most about this complex is that it is so pet friendly, they have little baskets and poop bag dispenser is throughout for people when theyre walking their pets to be able to clean up after their dogs if they need them. Every morning when I leave to take my kiddo to school I see the maintenance guys out cleaning up trash around dumpsters it might have gotten loose and picking up cigarette butts and cleaning up any stray dog poop that someone may have carelessly left behind. My neighbors are friendly Im right off of the expressway which is outstanding because Im always out running errands comma and our overall overall experience here its just been wonderful. Our apartment is huge! I have like 3 friends moving into this complex over the next two months and I couldnt be more excited for summer time here!
Clean environment, close to highway. Beautiful apartment to live in
It would seem these poorly managed apartments keep trying to remove bad reviews of old tenants. These apartments were poorly managed and over priced for what they really are. Poor maintenance and very little respect to theyre tenants.
Cool place to live
Going on my second lease and I couldnt explain why! This place like multiple have said already its a disaster! Everything is super out dated, maintenance men are useless and clueless I must add. Two of three in the office just as useless! This place is no better described than as a death trap!
I have lived here before and cannot WAIT to move back once my present lease is up!
Cars get broken into cars get steel in car stuff is stolen
