This company has horrible and the worst service ever. They are only good at extending the job completion dates . And when asking why it is taking extra time to complete the work their answer always is “it is city’s fault “During last 2.5-3 months they extended 4 different completions dates .This company is a major headache and problem for everyone leaving in the property. I am parking 2-3blocks away every single day because of their not responsible behavior and actions. Do not recommend this company to anyone.They don’t even deserve a one star . Everyone who thinks smart, stay away from this layers and never think to hire them. It is going to be big waste of your money and time .

Very professional and trustworthy seismic retrofitting company! Quake Strong made the entire seismic retrofitting process so incredibly simple. I didnt have to do anything, because they took care of everything. I have other things to focus on in my life, and it was so nice to trust them to take care of everything. They do spectacular work and are professional every step of the way.Whenever I called them, they were polite, attentive, and always had an answer for me. And they responded to all my emails right away. Their level of quality customer service is fantastic!They do absolutely everything for you, including engineering, construction, tenant management. Outstanding one-stop-shop company for seismic retrofitting! They make the seismic retrofitting process so less challenging, and also had very fair pricing. I simply do not have the time to do all the work. I heard you have to do engineering and then shop around for construction bids. Then deal with all the unanticipated construction issues and tenant hassles that go with any project. Seismic retrofitting seemed so complex with the other companies. When I found Quake Strong the whole process was easy.I was very impressed by their professional and respectful service. I was also happy to hear that they had been in construction for over 40 years, and have been doing seismic retrofitting since the city passed the seismic retrofitting ordinance. With construction, experience matters, and with dealing with tenants skilled communication is a must!The price included absolutely everything to put my building into compliance. This included engineering, construction, cost recovery, and also facilitating my tenants through the process. They took all the phone calls from tenants. I cannot imagine that any other company would have helped the tenants like Quake Strong.Quake Strong is my new superhero. They were fantastic in every way. Im giving them the rest of my buildings for seismic retrofitting and recommending them to my friends with soft story buildings.

Strongly recommend this company for seismic retrofitting! They were always available when I had questions or concerns about anything, and they always kept me in the loop. I saw their commercial on TV and decided to call them after about a year of putting it off. Quake Strong has been great so far, and I have only good things to say about them. The office staff is nice and attentive. I dont know much about construction but the workers at my building clean up after themselves everyday and seem to be doing a good, fast job.

When they first started doing construction in January they said it’ll take a month. We are now entering June and they are still not done. They are here only 2 times a week while the rest of the days the parking lot is just filled with dirt and I park 2 blocks away and walk home at midnight. The only thing I’ve seen them do is just extend the date, while my manager and the owner of the building say is not on them it’s all quakestong doing. At this point I honestly feel like they will finish by next year at the rate they are working.

Good service is really important to me and they are SUPER NICE people to work with! My experience with this company was great and they were easy to connect with when I needed anything. If you have to do seismic retrofitting I would highly recommend them!

Horrible service, job went from 1 month to 6 months and it is still NOT finish, nothing but excuses and the response is “that’s construction “ it has been extended more than 8 times, ”tenant management” all they do is post notices around building & leave,too many complaints to post on here, go look somewhere else to get your retrofit done plain and simple ! Let me remind you they STILL HAVE NOT FINISHED AND THEY JUST EXTENDED THE JOB ANOTHER MONTH! Don’t let them fool you

Quake Strong has completed the seismic retrofitting for a handful of our soft-story buildings in Los Angeles and they have been truly wonderful every step of the way.Our group owns buildings that need retrofitting in Santa Monica, LA, West Hollywood, Beverly Hills and Hollywood and we were very concerned when we received our first order to comply. Not only were the costs of retrofitting our buildings a major concern, but we were overwhelmed by the amount of time it was going to take to get all of our engineering plans done, and oversee the construction on all of our buildings.However, once I spoke with Quake Strong, all of my worries went away. They assured me that they were a one-stop-shop that takes care of the entire seismic retrofitting process. Dont use this shady company -- they are a nightmare. They did a retrofit on our parking garage and the number of times they changed the completion date is ridiculous. You have to pester them for updates, and when they do respond, its completely inaccurate. When you ask them how they can be more than 2 whole months off with their dates they tell you its an estimation and you never really know with construction. Really? Because I thought this was what your company did. If I said you never really know with my work deadlines Id be fired. Many days no one even shows up to work, and when someone does show up, its one guy, and he bangs around for 4 hours and leaves. Theyll miss a week of work then show up on a holiday and wake you up at 7 am. I understand that in construction, permits are a consideration, and they sometimes slow things down, but clearly this company has multiple jobs going and their workers are spread thin, and they dont care how long it takes.When we asked if they could clean up all the junk so we could at least park on the weekends, they said no, claiming that in the past people never move their cars when theyre supposed to. I know people whove had their buildings retrofitted, and theyve at least had intermittent parking. Not so with this company.They leave the garage full of piles of dirt and junk -- oh, and Oreo wrappers, so thats fun. They had to turn off the gas one day, and when they turned the gas back on and relit the pilots, they missed some. So I came home from work hours later to an apartment filled with and reeking of GAS. Same goes for my neighbors. I had to call the gas company. Incredibly dangerous and negligent. They cut my neighbors internet cable by accident so she didnt have internet for almost a week, since Spectrum had to wait until they were done with whatever they were doing in the garage to replace the cable.Finally they left notes that it was all clear to park again, and that they were finished... except in 2 of the parking spaces they left their BOBCAT, a giant trash dumpster, recycling bins, and all kinds of debris. Doesnt look done to me! When I asked them to clear the space, they said there was nothing there. So I sent them photos, after which they said theyd move the Bobcat and dumpster, and anything else that belonged to them. What, the debris belongs to the tenants? We obviously parked before the retrofit, so none of that stuff was there before. Incompetent and dishonest. Avoid at all costs.

Worst service EVER! They were supposed to be finished with this construction job in January, claiming it would be a 3 week job, and it is now nearly June and they continue to post new expected dates of completion once the old date passes. We rarely, if ever, see them working & as a result tenants are forced to park several blocks away from the building because their parking spots are still under construction for going on 6 months now. Extending the project once or twice would have been understandable; but extending a 3 week project to a 6 month project is absolutely ridiculous and tenants are fed up with this company’s horrible service and lack of communication.

I run a large property management company, Essential Management Inc., and Quake Strong has provided fantastic, full service seismic retrofitting for my soft-story buildings. When I received my order to comply for soft story retrofit from the city, I was concerned that it was going to be major headache on my part. But, thankfully, Quake Strong quickly eased any concerns I had because they handled the entire process from A To Z, and in such an organized, effective, and professional manner.All I had to do was simply let them know my building addresses, and they took care of absolutely everything from that point forward. First, they did a free investigation of my buildings, assessing what needed to be done to both put my buildings into compliance, and more importantly, keep all of my tenants safe in the event of an earthquake. Then they handled the engineering for each building, and all of the back and forth involved in city planning coordination: the plan check process, pulling all the permits, and the Tenant Habitability Plan (THP). This company is so unprofessional and a waste of time. Don’t even bother contacting this company to do any work you may need. They were suppose to do a job in ONE MONTH and we are now going into month number SIX! If I could rate zero stars I would. Stay away! Horrible job and service.

Super slow work . Not recommend company . They’re full of lies . First they send a note that the job will be done in 3 to 4 weeks then keep sending you notes about delays . 1 month job takes about 6 months to complete . I wonder how stay in businesses like that . To put Just 3 columns takes the time to build a whole house . Ripped off!
