Marina Sailing has great selection of sailboats and locations. We sailed out of Long Beach to Catalina. Molly was super helpful with the checkout and return process. We selected A Little Endeavor, and it was awesome, everything working properly, well maintained and a pleasure to sail.We enjoyed hanging out at Shoreline Village during the sleep aboard the night before and the mooring in Avalon main harbor provided a beautiful view of the city.We went at end of April, weather was nice, was easy to get a mooring, the only disappointment was the wind was light and we ended up doing more motoring than would have liked.Overall it was a fantastic trip, many thanks to Marina Sailing!
Awesome time.guys yhat run it were great. Super friendly and made us feel safe.
Had a great experience with them. They have an excellent selection of boats and its easy to browse through them online and know what youre getting The boat was in great condition and was very clean. The staff were very helpful in explaining the ins and outs of running it when we got there and had a helpful manual for figuring out how to run things on the boat. Prices were reasonable.Their location was easy to get to, though apparently the google maps isnt exactly the location, so check with them online before you show up. Would do another sail through them int he future.
Be prepared for a steep ( 30ft at 20 degree incline) dock entry to any of the boats on the west side of Marina. Checking in will cost $2 for parking if over a half hour. Overnight parking is validated but on the street. This place does a check out that includes taking boat out of slip, docking it and return to slip. Not a big deal but plan for about 1.5 hours to get off the dock. Not sure about return guests. Very friendly and helpful folks
Today, my husband and I enjoyed our first sailing lesson with Captain Natasha Martin. We had a fantastic lesson. We were given the opportunity to operate the helm and the sails with the excellent instruction of Captain Martin. She gave us the freedom to learn from our mistakes, and, yet, prevent us from making
Do not rent here, they have major safety issues with the boats and frankly dont seem to care too much.We were out and the rudder LITERALLY came off the boat while we were sailing. We lost control of the boat(obviously) and did a 180 degree spin in the middle of the harbor. Fortunately there were no boats in the immediate are but it was very dangerous and frankly pretty scary. Ive been sailing for 30 years and have never had that happen before.Needless to say, we immediately brought in the sails and motored back in. We were only out for about 45 minutes when that happened and lost the rest of the day. After telling the staff about what happened, they just offered a half sincere apology and told us we were all set to go. I asked um, we lost a half day of sailing because of this, could we get some sort of discount? The guy at the desk kindly declined any refund and said they might give a discount the next time. Thank you, but there wont be a next time...ever.Find another place to rent from. You might not have any problems here, and it might be uncommon or rare, but if something happens you wont get any sort of customer service or credit against a lost afternoon. Id say this was by far the most expensive and disappointing 2 hours Ive ever spent on the water.
I chartered several boats with Marina Sailing at different locations (MDR, Redondo, LB) and only had very good experiences. Nice boats, well equipped at a reasonable price for a day sail or to go to Catalina. Highly recommended!
Disappointing. 4 of us Flew in from out of state for two 3hour lessons. Reconfirmed just prior to departure. As we were driving to our class they called and canceled and offered no alternative. A total waste of time and expense. This appears to be a poorly organized business, which in this industry, raises safety and quality concerns. There are other ASA Certified schools up and down the coast that I hoping show more integrity than we experienced here.
The nicest staff and instructors! First day at the helm was a blast!
The quality of boats and service far exceeded past experiences I have had with Harbor Yachts, AKA Harbor Island Yacht Club, AKA Harborlight Yacht Club.
Very unprofessional, tons of maintenance issues and an overall negative experience.
Cute, cute place
Donโt go to this place!! they have really old boats that break all the time and have many issues. The general manager at Long Beach could care less about the customers.
Nice to distract yourself. Very calm.
