I had gone to a different salon a few months ago and gotten my hair bleached blonde. I started to miss my natural hair color so I made an appointment with Molly so I can go back to being brunette. When she was finished I realized my hair was black nowhere close to my natural color and half of my hair was a completely different color than the other half as shown in the picture. I pointed out the things I didn’t like about my hair and was told that we would have to come in another day to fix it because Molly had an emergency and had to leave right away. We were offered a limited set of days to come back so it could be fixed and none of them really worked because of my work schedule. When I asked for days the following week I was told that wouldn’t be possible. We made an appointment and after a bit of arguing got them to agree to let us pay half now and half when we come back. The next day I realized that the day I had set the appointment really wouldn’t work so I called to cancel it. I was told that I would be contacted by the manager the following week to come up with a solution and I still haven’t received a call. I ended up just going and buying box dye and fixing my hair myself. I should have just done that from the beginning and saved myself money and time. This is not a place I will be returning to nor will I be recommending this place to anyone.Update:I really wanted to just share my experience with this salon to make others more aware and than just move on. But since they decided to lie and completely twist the truth I feel like I need to clarify. I have no reason to lie and if my issue had been resolved there would have been no reason for me to leave a bad review. Prior to my experience I had nothing against this salon. They said I spoke to the owner in reality I wish I had actually met the owner. I honestly didn’t even know it wasn’t a female. On the day of my appointment I had to fight Molly to let me pay only half that was not offered to me. I didn’t just not show up I actually called the salon to cancel as I already mentioned in my original review. During that call they told me the manager would call me and then they never did. I think the picture I included makes it very clear how badly my hair was messed up. I didn’t think highly of this salon when I posted my review but after their response I have realized this salon doesn’t care about customer satisfaction only their image. They said they didn’t want me as a client they have nothing to worry about I wouldn’t return to this salon if it was the only one left in the world.

She did nothing I asked she had her opinion about everything and just flat refused to do what was asked. I made the appointment for my daughter to get her hair washed, thinned out, trimmed and straightened for her first day of school. Our stylist just knew more than we did about our daughters hair and wouldn’t listen to anything either her or i said so when we left and i had to go home and straighten her hair myself and it wasn’t thinned out to what we asked everything my daughter or i said she had an opinion on why she wasn’t going to do it. The most unprofessional service we’ve received. If i am paying for specific services i would expect those services to be done how we asked not to get lectured and then just to do what she wants. She needs a new profession. 10/10 would Not recommend!

I was looking for an appointment last minute due to my stylist getting covid. I was able to get in with Bridgette for a perm and cut. This is the first time in a long time I can say I love my hair! And for the first time in a long time I am getting compliments too. Perming is becoming a lost service. I have found my girl finally. My hair is exactly what I wanted! Made an appointment, my stylist Molly, who was fabulous by the way, was on time and did a great job with my highlights!! By talking with Molly, I knew she was up on the latest trends with not only hair, but makeup as well! Molly is definitely my new stylist.The store was clean and the other employees were polite and professional.

Called to book a facial for next day. Went in and had to wait 20 minutes past my appointment time as the first appointment of the day, I was given an express facial instead of a full. The facial itself was mediocre. I was not told until checking out that there was no tipping on cards and was charged an extra fee for their COVID cleaning supplies(they did have signs up that stated this I just found it to be crazy). Overall my experience was not what I anticipated after not being there for several years. This use to be a great place for spa services.

Do not go to this salon! ITS HORRIBLE. I asked for a Balayge, even showed her a picture of what I wanted, but the hair stylist barely gave me some highlights and charged me $200 for it. She had a nasty attitude and would get annoyed every time I asked her to fix her mistakes. My hair now has a mix of brown, black and some ugly bleached hair strands that she forgot to tone.... Please save your time and money and go to real professionals. I honestly should have went back for my money and probably sued.

Most women know the importance of having a good stylist, and I finally found one! As a natural brunette who wants to be blonde, I haven’t had the best of luck with hairdressers doing what I want. They are always too timid and not bold enough to make me blonde. A friend recommended Melissa, and I’m FINALLY blonde! She does an excellent job! I’ve referred a few friends to her as well, and we are all thrilled with her work!

First called to set up an appointment. Got hung up on, no call back. I had an appointment at lens crafters in the same mall so after that appointment we ( the appointment is for my wife) went over to the salon and asked if her appointment went through or do we need to make another one. The man behind the glass patrician at the desk said he remembered my wife calling but he was busy so he hung up. WOW! well we were there so we made another appointment for 1 hour later. Forward 1 hour, we go back and the lady at the desk say it will be a few minutes, the stylist is finishing up a customer. She took our number again (3rd time) and my wife and I just walked around on the area. 5... 10....15... 20... 30 minutes later still no call so SCREW this place we will go somewhere else. Apparently this place makes to much money and doesnt care about the client.

I love Charisma and have never had a bad cut or color with any of their stylists. I saw Molly this weekend and she was able to take my wonky, uneven color (done a few months ago at another salon) and make it into a dimensional, cool brown for fall. She shaped up my hair with a fabulous cut too. I feel like a million bucks! 10/10 would recommend.

Did not appreciate the increase in price of service without letting me know ahead of time. Also, $5.00 COVID charge was excessive. When I asked what it was for I was told for cleaning supplies. I think the owner should pay for this.

My stylist had started working there. So my first visit went great. Everyone is so nice. The only thing is that you have to have cash for your tip or a check. They dont let you include on credit/debit card.

I called and made an appointment for a shampoo and blow out. I arrived and the salon was nice and clean and they were on time but they put me with a stylist named Jack who after he washed my hair he explained that he doesn’t really do blow outs and he doesn’t do any type of curl to it or any volume. Okay fine I’m okay with it straight. He sat in a chair the whole time he blow dried my hair and when he was done I pointed out that my hair was still damp at the roots. He blow dried it a little more and sent me on my way....still with damp hair. The salon it’s self I would say is a 5 star but I just don’t understand why they would schedule me with him if he doesn’t really do women’s hair and can’t give a simple Blow dry. I could have saved 30 dollars and let my hair air dry at home.

I am SO happy that I found Charisma Salon! When I was planning my June 23rd wedding, I was looking for a salon close by my venue that could offer both hair and makeup services. I chose this salon because of the photos on their website and reviews that I had read. I am so glad I did! They were more than able to accommodate those in my wedding party who opted to get their hair and / or makeup done. Mary is an incredible makeup artist and made my sister and I feel so beyond beautiful for this special day. I wanted my mother to be pampered and to feel just as beautiful, and Brandi absolutely transformed her thin hair into a gorgeous curled style- the exact one she had wanted. Jenna was just awesome! I had never used hair extensions before, and she made me look glamorous! My matron of honor and bridesmaid looked just lovely. Can’t wait to go back for other salon services! Mary at Charisma has been doing my eyebrows for 5+ years now and never fails to impress. My eyebrows had always been on the thicker, out of control side due to my Arab descent. Before I found Mary it was always a struggle to find someone who was able to clean up my eyebrows in a way that would please me and compliment my face. Ever since I discovered Mary it has never been a question to get my eyebrows waxed at any other salon or by anyone but her because of her expertise and exceptional service. Mary continuously does an amazing job and I highly recommend her!

I visited Morgan C. a few years ago when I was ready for a complete change in my hair. I always had long and un-colored hair because I didnt trust any stylist I visited. I was nervous to take the step toward cutting my hair (about 8-10 inches) and coloring but Morgan did a great job guiding me and ensuring Id love it. And sure enough I did, and 2 years later I still have short and colored hair.

I have been going to Mary for the past 10 years or so for my eyebrows, as well as makeup when needed for special events (such as my wedding). When I moved to Lansing about 6 years ago, I knew driving back to Charisma to see Mary wouldn’t be very convenient, so I began to search for someone else in the Lansing area. Much to my dismay, after trying out many different stylists to wax my eyebrows, I could not find anyone nearly remotely as close to being as talented as Mary! So I began making the just-over-an-hour drive to Charisma to have her do my eyebrows again. Not only is she awesome at making a perfect arch and conforming my eyebrows to my face shape, she is extremely thorough and I notice I am able to go longer in between eyebrow waxes. Naturally, I had her do my makeup for my wedding, and of course I was not disappointed. I received so many compliments and I felt so confident and beautiful. Mary truly has natural artistic talent, and I would highly recommend her for eyebrows and/or makeup. My only complaint is that I wish she worked closer to the Lansing area so I didn’t have to make the hourly drive to see her!

Jenna did my hair for my wedding this past weekend, and it was amazing! She was so friendly and did an incredible job! I never received so many compliments :) The salon accommodated my whole wedding party, with hair and makeup and were all extremely helpful, quick, professional, nice and friendly. Brandi is such an amazing hair stylist!! She did my hair for my engagement pictures and wedding and both days it looked amazing all night! Her personality and skills are the best!

Called at 5 PM and made an appointment for 7PM. Checked in at 6:50ish and told I was all set. Wasn’t until 7:40 PM they told me the girl that was supposed to cut my hair left, so I was out of luck.

I have been coming to this salon since 2011! I now live more than 4 hours away & because of Saada I drive in once a month to have my hair styled by her! The salon is convenient & open everyday of the year except for Christmas & Thanksgiving, it doesnt get any easier! Thanks Saada for always making me feel pretty🙃🙂.

OMG it took me a really long time to grow my hair out. But due to past experiences when I’ve asked for just a trim and ended up with inches off it has made me have much anxiety when sitting in the chair underneath a gleaming pair of sharp scissors held by a cut happy stylist. So needless to say when I knew it was high past time to get my ends trimmed I was quite hesitant .But let me tell you folks! Brandi is hands down the best! She not only put my mind at ease as well as my anxiety to rest as I sat in her chair but she did exactly as I asked for my hair. I will most definitely be returning to Charisma and booking an appointment again with her. Highly recommend!!

I was pretty disappointed with my experience at Charisma. I scheduled a facial and when I walked into the room it felt small, it was literally the size of a closet, and messy. I immediately started talking to the esthetician about my skin care problems, I have clogged pores, and she was very dismissive and told me she would look at it. I made an appointment for a corrective facial and did not find out until afterwards that I was given their regular facial. I was only charged the regular facial price, but it bothered me because that was not what I wanted. After the facial, I did not see any improvements with my skin, so if I ever decided to get a facial again it will most likely not be here. Their salon services may be good looking at other reviews, but their day spa needs work.

Made me cry on my prom day..got hair and makeup done makeup looked great and hair looked better when i first came in everybody “worked” on it and it still didnt look good was supposed to be curly and at the end it was just a hairspray tangled mess definitely NOT worth the money or time had to go home after and curl my own hair and try to fix my makeup from it runnig down my face! HORRIBLE experience

Went in for layers and said I liked my bangs the same length as my hair but came out with layers that actually werent that great and bangs that framed my face even though they dont, its horrendous. I didnt want hair on the side of my head cut short for these face-framing bangs I hate the fact the go from short in the back to long in the front and I never asked for them. I though my hair was bad before this visit but Id rather have my old hair back. I cried at how bad my hair looks and the fact that its going to be a painful process to grow my hair out. Will not be coming back, so much for a first time. Thanks for making me want to pull a Britney and shave my head.
