Id like to start by saying, Jaclyn (the receptionist) was absolutely wonderful!! She was kind, understanding, patient and kept me informed the whole time my vehicle was in the shop!! These guys not only care about what theyre doing but more importantly they care about their customers! They went above and beyond to help me get the best price to fix my vehicle! The mechanic that work on my vehicle even took the time to help me understand what was going on as well as give me other possible options that may of meant me having to fix the issue myself! The fact that they are willing to do that just proves they are more committed to the customers best interests. That meant a lot to me because not a lot of auto repair companies would do that for their customers!! I will definitely use them again in the future! I recently took our 2012 F-150 super cab 4x2 in for repair for a drive-line clunk (which I thought was u-joint wear). Instead, the u-joints were in great shape, but they discovered a TSB for a slip-yoke lubrication. It was a less expensive repair, and it fixed the issue! They are a great shop, and very prompt and friendly. We took our truck to Kirks also for brakes and a tune up, and they were also reasonable and prompt! Five stars!

I thought their organization was going to lead to a great experience. Very slow to work on the vehicle after telling me it would be worked on when I brought it in (12 PM on a Thursday).Charged me twice for a check engine diagnosis, then misquoted on the PCV hose. Said it was .75 hours over the phone, I get there and they charge me 3 hours of labor. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS STILL ON!!Mirrors have been tampered with, everything was not in the same order as I dropped the car off.Diagnostic charges didnt go towards repair. If your team cant figure out whats wrong with the vehicle, then why charge the customer for something the experts cant figure out especially without including the diagnostic charge with the repair? You are the experts. Not me.

Kirks Auto team helped me with an extremely odd electrical issue. Team worked with me on it as there are so many constraints at the moment due to COVID 19 and supplies. We worked out a solution and although it took longer than we has anticipated the team was great the entire time and got my car up and running again.

This place was recommended by a friend when they first opened a few years ago. I was in a hurry to get the work done and ended up paying too much for suspension work. Parts they used turned out to be cheap after-markets. I should have investigated prices before taking my car here. I currently need work done but am hesitant to use Kirks again due to past experience.

So I was driving past around 1pm in the afternoon on Friday and was at the light in the lane closest to kirks. I look over and noticed the technician with a beard doing something so dangerous I had to post it. The technician in the bay farthest from merriman had a vehicle halfway in the air using one arm of the hoist to change the rear tire. Not only is is printed plain as day on the lift to not do so. Its a safety issue. All it took was the wrong bump and that suv comes tumbling down. Or the arm bends because all the weight is on it. As a technician of 20 years myself I know better and have seen the results of doing DANGEROUS things such as this. If I were the owner I would not only fire that technician I d require all my techs to have a refresher in lift safety. If this is how technicians in the shop work what other corners do they cut while making repairs. Edit: so being Im not a customer apparently my review holds no merit. But I will not sit by and let a technician not only put their life and the costumers life that was 5 feet away in danger. They dont put warnings on the hoists for no reason. And what this technician did could have ended badly.

They were thorough, easy to work with, thoughtful about spending my money, and their prices were reasonable. Our go-to shop of 20 years just changed hands so we were very happy to find Kirks on the recommendation of a friend.

Wonderful, friendly folks...in my case, i wasnt sure if it was a power steering fluid leak or a transmission fluid leak, they very quickly found that it was the power steering fluid line that had become rusted and was leaking slowly. They are going to try to patch it first, to save me some money, which I respect. Will be strongly recommending everyone I know to use the repair shop, and am quickly becoming a life long customer

They are awesome . Heres something you dont hear about a shop. Honest and thorough. had a transmission problem and a good ideal that it wasnt the trans. So after 2 other shops said you need a trans.My friend told me about kirks . fixed problem ( electrical). Thank you great work, great people. Took my 2015 Chevy Silverado in for a diagnostic to determine cause of random misfire issues I’ve been having (after taking truck to 2 different other mechanics including dealership who couldn’t determine or resolve issue). The tech was very knowledgeable, and was able to resolve issue quickly performing a manual intake valve cleaning to remove all the excessive carbon buildup. They also performed an induction service. My truck runs like new. The price was very fair & affordable. The staff was professional, and friendly. I would highly recommend using them. Great experience

I called in the morning and they were able to work on my truck that same day. When I arrived everyone was very polite and interacting with customers (you don’t see that much these days) they said it would take one hour and it was actually done much quicker. This by far was the worst experience I’ve ever had. Arrived at 9:55 for a 10 am oil change appointment.They said that while they were taking the cap off to begin the work the cap broke so they had to order the part from somewhere else which took over 2 hours to get . The staff was not apologetic and took on a laced attitude. In my opinion I should have been offered at least some of my money back. Please whatever you do people take the appointment at the dealership even if it’s a week away...Worst service.....

I was told to drop my car off at 8am when they opened to install new springs on my car. I didn’t receive a call until about 3pm with a quote. The quote was $325 more than a shop down the road, and I was told it they would have to keep the vehicle until the following day.Very unprofessional and overpriced. Wasted an entire day without a vehicle and still have to have the work done.Never returning.*update after phone call*I find it humorous how far you have gone to try and discredit a once potential customer. When yes, my original quote was from bill brown. But that is why I had changed my wording of my review from “dealer”, to “shop down the road”. I called another shop just 3 miles from yours, who was willing to do the work. But for $485 instead of the $800 you quoted me.

I dropped the family car off yesterday because it was making weird noises, and while it did take awhile (they were busy), they were very thorough and friendly. Jacqueline treated me as though she knew me forever, and when the problems were told to me I felt no pressure and they helped me as much as they could with the pricing. 10/10 would recommend to a friend.

This is the best full-service auto repair shop in the area, hands down. The owner, Chris, and his staff routinely provide superior service at fair prices and you wont find a more honest mechanic shop in the country. They are careful to, and do an excellent job of, explaining exactly what the issue is, and what caused it. Often Chris will SHOW you, and explain it in a way that even the mechanically ignorant will be able to understand. You may also receive early warnings of other potential issues with timeline recommendations of when you should try to get it fixed, especially with regard to safety issues, but this is done strictly for your benefit and they are NEVER pushy or try to sell you repairs you dont yet need. In addition to all of this, they value your time, are quick to get you in and out, and the service is usually fast. Plus, they generally have free loaners for you to use for your convenience, and on the off chance they are out, they will probably offer you a ride or get you an Uber! I dont know what else you could possibly want in a shop. I wish I could give this place 6 or 7 stars. If youre looking for somewhere to go, look no longer.

I have been going to Kirks Auto Care in Livonia for many years. I have now moved requiring me to drive about 30 minutes more to get to this same location. I find that it is WORTH IT! I have confidence in them to the point that I WILL pass by many auto places to get to theirs. The people at Kirks care about your safety. I have called many times to ask for advice and it has been worth my time to listen to their response because it saves me time and money in the long run.

Robert stopped to help my daughter and me change a tire. What a gentleman! He insisted on helping and thankfully he did...because one lug nut would have impossible for me or daughter to twist off. If this level of service is standard at Kirk’s, I will support if I need auto care! Thank you Robert!

Only place I come to now that I’ve moved back to Michigan. They don’t oversell you on anything you don’t need and I appreciate that tremendously. Also love that the front desk is staffed by women that know about cars! Comfortable to sit and wait- quick service.

Good customer service is a big factor in making me want to shop at a business. I also appreciate it when I go shopping for something, and there are no high pressure salesmen around. I used a Welcome to the Neighborhood coupon, for a free oil change. I only interacted with the front desk staff, so Im not reviewing the whole business. It is common to be given up-sales recommendations, and I would have been surprised if none had been given. I declined the brake light switch and coolant flush/check for leak recommendations. I spent the rest of the time waiting for my car, in an uncomfortable atmosphere. The lobby is very small, with the front desk right next to you. Comments were made to me, that I felt were rude and pushy: I couldnt get out of there fast enough. Kirks Auto Care might employ the best mechanics, or have good prices. I wont ever find out, because I will not be returning.

Great honest work but a little over priced for my blood. But you do get what you pay for. The service is great. Even get a free rental from them for as long as they have your car.

Kirks has taken excellent care of my familys cars for a number of years. With kids, its important to feel like our vehicles are safe. Good service, good prices, and I feel like a valued client every time Im there. I have called them going down the highway 60 miles away with a description of a warning light and funny sound. They called me back to remind me to pull over if such-and-such happened (luckily it didnt, and I made it to the shop).
