Trugreen is by far the worst company I have ever dealt with they never got rid of any of the weeds they only spray certain things on your yard they say its customized to what you need and that is a lie. We canceled the service but they kept on charging us for services they never performed. And when I called to ask about why they are charging us they just said we came out so you have to pay even though we canceled. they are real people but I might as well have been talking to a bot. No one you call is willing to help.I paid about a thousand dollars with nothing to show for it except another bill for something that never happened

Horrible experience. When I got them to come out they would spray. Had 3 applications both lawn and trees shrubs. Literally no changes to yard. Weeds all over. In fact I believe my yard got worse. I cancelled the fall applications and was issued a refund. Had Trugreen in Utah and they were fantastic. Saw immediate results. Not sure what’s going on with Trugreen in Littleton Co but would not recommend. Very very poor.

Weve used TruGreen for a couple of years but they really dropped the ball. After multiple visits, they never acknowledged an area of dying grass in the yard. Eventually I called them about it and they said it was grubs, though I didnt see any evidence. They sprayed anyway. Unfortunately the problems got worse. I called again and was told theyd send someone out to do a full inspection of the area. 3 weeks later, I had to call again to check in and I was told that a manager saw the request for service but did nothing with it. I hired these folks for fertilization and to have a knowledgable eye on the lawn that could help me proactively resolve problems before they get out of hand. The attached image shows the current state of the lawn. The sod company says it looks like it was way over-fertilized. So if you just want chemicals dumped into your soil, theyre really good at that. But in terms of actually helping you prevent problems and troubleshoot problems when they occur, Id look elsewhere.

Terrible experience with this company! Prepaid $699 for the green lawn guarantee program or whatever they call it. Service was supposed to include 8 treatments, aeration, and overseeding. If I didnt keep calling to request the aeration Im sure they never would have done it. I asked them when will the overseeding take place, they say I didnt pay for that and it would be another $260!. Reaching anyone on the phone has been a nightmare, and our lawn looks worse than it did last year with dead yellow patches all over and infested with weeds. Trugreen does not care how your lawn looks, only about taking your money.

I never actually received any lawn services from Trugreen. I was signed up by a sales person to receive services. Initial visit $29.99 and they were supposed to treat lawn and trees...well, come the field tech and I wanted to confirm all he was doing was the $29.99 service. He beat around the bush until I asked him for a straight answer and total cost. Turns out the initial visit was around $100, not $29.99, and they had a whole other visit schefuled at full price with different tree guys. I said I had a problem with what the sales person said vs the reality of the service. I refused service and sent him away. I asked him for some confirmation and did receive a text they were unable to perform services that day. I immediately called and just wanted to cancel and close the account. After several minutes back and forth with the CO # customer service agent, she assured me my account was cancelled. I asked for an email confirmation...never received. This all happened Friday. Sunday I checked my online account and there was a visit scheduled for the following Tuesday. I used their email contact through the website to send a written request cancelling my account. I forgot to take a screenshot, but someone was supposed to answer me In two business days. Thats technically tomorrow. Today I received a text they are coming out tomorrow. I called the 844 Customer service # and spent 30 min to find out the first girl I talked to included notes saying I disconnected the call after she tried to educate me and then just rescheduled my services. The very nice customer service agent I spoke with today said he couldnt close my account. It would be a hit on him and sent my request to his manager. Ok, I asked him to transfer me to his manager, he couldnt. I asked what he thought I should do and he suggested I call back at the end of the week to confirm...nope! I said I couldnt hang up without some sort of resolution or confirmation. He did change my payment options online so I could delete our credit card on file and did end up sending and email that he has requested our account closed. I appreciated his seemingly helpful answers finally.I wish this had turned out better, we were really looking forward to some great looking grass, but has been a hassle and have not even received any services.

Was told my first application would be $29, and without informing me they did an additional $50 application of Revive. The technician never informed me when he would be at my home and came knocking at the door to tell me to get my dog out of the yard. Sorry man, I didnt know you were coming. At least ask nicely. Customer service experience with the tech was terrible. I was under the impression I would get to talk to him about what I can do to maintain the yard. He didnt care to speak to me. Seemed over worked, with no time to take care of the customer. He then printed out a ticket that says my yard is in great shape. Um...I wouldnt have called if it was in great shape. My yard is in terrible shape see photo. What a waste of $80. Cancelled and will go elsewhere.

We went with TruGreen beginning towards the end of last season. Up until that point, I was maintaining my front yard and everything was good to go. Fast forward to now, 1/3 of my yard is now dead with some additional patches on the border as well. In order to get to the bottom of what was going on, I requested soil samples to be taken from the effected areas. That was done in June and there has still been no call/ correspondence with the results. A notification from our HOA was sent to us stating we are in violation and we would be fined if it wasnt taken care of....thats how bad it is. It looks like we are going to have to replace those portions of dead patches, which is at a significant cost to us as a result of TruGreens breach of its duties and promises under our service contract. We would call and request to speak to someone in a higher position and get the response of, Youll receive a phone call in 48-72 hours.... and there would be no phone call. Fortunately, we were able to recoup some of our money for the services done this year, but that doesnt fix the damage that has been done already. In conclusion, if you want cookie cutter type service as far as what is being applied on your yard, dead grass, and unsatisfactory communication regardless of what level its supposed to be coming from, this place is definitely for you. If this is NOT what you want, I would recommend going with a different company.

I called to make an appointment to for the TruGreen to come out and look at my yard, to see what I need to have a nice lawn, and they were already put me in a contract service with out even look at my yard, they needed my credit card information first before even coming to my place and look at my yard, I said you guys need to come first before asking for my credit card, they said they been in the business for 40 years and they have always doing this way, I dont know how you can ask someones credit card before even meeting the customer in person and diagnosed what you need for lawn, they just want a contract, it looks like for them Im just a business not a custumer..

A TruGreen person suddenly showed up in my backyard and started spreading chemicals. I never ordered any service. He apologized but now I have chemicals in my otherwise organic garden. When I called customer service and asked if they could put our address on a do not visit list, the rep said without acct number or phone number they cannot do that and then hung up on me.

Dont Do It! There are plenty of other good lawn services. TruGreen may have a decent national reputation, but the local SW Denver company is TERRIBLE. I love supporting local businesses. I never leave negative reviews. However, I would hate for any of my neighbors to have the experience we had. We signed up for both the lawn and tree/shrub services. They make it very easy to pay, but also very difficult to get customer service from anyone local. That tells you whats most important for them. The lawn saw some initial improvement and then went south. We didnt see any difference in our trees or shrubs. To make matters worse, when I called to cancel the tree and shrub service, they said they would come out again and not charge us. However, they went ahead and charged us $69.95. When I called the customer service number, I kept getting the national customer service line. They repeatedly told me they saw the notes in my account that the charge should be removed, but only the local office could correct it. The national office reassured me several times that it would be corrected. After many attempts to reach the local office, I finally received a call from the Kaitlyn, the local customer service manager. She told me the general manager decided not to honor what they promised. I stayed very polite. I reminded them we were still lawn service customers. I asked if they would rather have the $70 or the several hundred dollars annually from my on-going lawn service. She opted for the $70. Terrible short-sighted customer service and business decision. To be fair, it sounded like the customer service manager had no real ability to serve customers; she is just the messenger of the general manager. Trust the long list of 1 star ratings.

Great service and response time when help is needed. I like how I don’t have to worry about an entire aspect of my lawn as it’s just not my forte. Everything is taken care of automatically, my lawn looks great, and over the last several years they have come out whenever I have areas that need extra treatments. I continue to recommend them to neighbors and friends.

Killed 2/3rds of my lawn and seemed to somehow give me more weeds. Would be no stars because they took my money for 3 treatments that did the opposite of what they said they would do, but they get 1 star for quickly refunding the balance. I guess they felt they should get very, very well-paid for the effort involved in making my lawn very, very dead. Would not recommend at all.

The service is very poor and would not assist in reapplying their fertilizer as requested and stated in their sales material. After several attempts, my last straw was when the driver/serviceman knocked on my door and asked if I had any gas for his aerator. DO NOT USE. Even after cancellation, they keep servicing my lawn. I have new sod and they ruined it!

Horrible service and harassing after I cancelled. I usually don’t leave reviews but this was bad. I just wanted them to diagnose large dead spots in my lawn that die every year. Nobody showed for the lawn analysis after multiple reschedules even though they said they did. Instead they just started services without knowing the root causes with little knowledge from the techs. So I cancelled. Now I receive calls daily from different people asking questions. Most recent caller was very pushy trying to sell me other services. He told me that the way they treated my lawn was right and did not listen to my concerns. He was basically saying I was wrong but I still have the same dead areas and am going to work with a different company. Don’t waste your time or money!

Tl;dr killed 3 trees didn’t return our calls for well over a month. After repeated calls a Service Manager, Jake, no call no showed an appointment.******Edit: a Manager came out a day after posting this. He was professional, on time and answered questions. I am mostly satisfied with the resolution though the communication deficit is still a huge frustration.We used TruGreen for several years, with only minor issues. Recently, we had treatment done on our trees and our 3 pine trees in the front immediately started showing terrible chemical burns where the treatments were sprayed and appear to be dying? I don’t know, I’m not an arborist but they are in bad shape. We talked to the next service technician that came to our house who stated he had heard this several times on his current route and would make note in their system to have someone call us back. This technician appeared to be extremely helpful.Fast forward 2 weeks, no calls. We followed up yet again, and they said a manager would call us back, they never did. We called again a few days later and finally got through to a lady who claimed she was the ‘right hand’ to a manager and yet again told us we would receive a return call. Finally, Jake who promised a refund for the previous service provided and scheduled an appointment for 11:30 on Tuesday called us back. We let him know about the previous calls and explained that all we were hoping for is for someone to come take a look and provide us with a refund. Jake no call no showed us. At this time we called TruGreen, and again they made empty promises of calling us right back and never called again.We are left with dying trees, no resolution, and no communication. Stay away.

We have been this company for 2 years, our lawn never looked worst, the first year we didnt see results but we decided to stay with them and giving the lawn some time to get better, well it didnt, all the opposite got worse, this season the lawn for burn for the way to put the fertilizer, I have tried to communicated with them and nothing, no answer, such a poor costumer service I cant even get hold of the manager every time I call I have to wait 30-40 mins in the line. I am trying to cancel the service and get my money back since we in the end after the damages they did to our lawn we had to invest more money residing and trying to fix the damages.

Tru Green’s services are absolute theft. Throwing down a little weed killer/fertilizer for $60 a month, showing up days late, and giving you basic google advice about mowing your lawn in different directions is their idea of service on the app. Don’t waste your money. You can do what they do in 20 minutes every month for a quarter of the price.Pure scam.

All in all I am happy with the service, I did have one service earlier this year where the specialist must have applied to much product to some areas and I had burnt out areas,, ( big brown areas ).. But for the most part my lawn looks better than it ever has in the past. But it should look great we have had the perfect past summer, lots of natural rain perfect growing season..

Worst customer service ever. I called to complain and ended up talking to someone in California then Texas, then Indiana, then Georgia. It took almost 1 hr and I got no where. I live in Colorado Springs and the property they sprayed without my consent is in Aurora Colorado. I now have to drive 60 miles to hopefully talk to somebody. AAAARRRRRGGGGHH

Worst customer service experience ever. We tried to have them come out and look at our yard (after we prepaid upfront for the services) because we werent happy with how it looked. When we signed up, they assured us they could fix the specific issue we pointed out (which is why we paid the money for the services). It took multiple calls and emails to get them to respond. Then when they did and actually scheduled an appointment to stop by, they stood us up...twice. Then more phone calls to find out what happened and when could they come by - no response whatsoever. When I finally called to cancel the remaining services because I was just done, they told me the amount of the refund. I questioned it because it didnt make sense - they actually put me on hold, then came back and confirmed this was the refund amount and in fact, they would be taking an additional 7% off the amount they just quoted because of my prepaid discount. And was there anything else they could do to help me? Absolutely not. I will never use this company again, nor would I recommend it to anyone.

Terrible service. Was told we would get a confirmation of our first airation and application appointment, that didnt come in. I called and discovered our appointment time scheduled the week after initially expected, for 12-5. At 5 I called and got a message that the service would be completed within an hour, at 6 I called and was told it would be completed in an hour., but couldnt talk to a rep because offices were closed. They arrived at 6:15. Were told that it was just an application, not the airate service expected. Will cancel as soon as their customer service line opens.

KILLED MY GRASSWell after my post they responded and I called the 800 number again. A manager called and said they would come look at it. Never came as far as I know and no follow up call. Now weeds are growing in the dead grass. Disappointing...I have used Truegreen on and off for a long time. I have always been very happy with the results until recently. I paid for weed killer to be applied to the rocks in my landscaping, which has been done successfully by TrueGreen in the past. Well they killed about a foot of the grass at the top of my yard. They also killed a line straight through my lawn from the rocks in the middle of the yard. I called with my concern and they have offered no resolution. Beware.

Just cancelled this service after being a customer for 10 years. Long story short been trying to get them to service our lawn for 4 weeks after a storm stopped our 1st application of the year. They kept stating our appointment wasnt set after me calling every week for weeks to get it done. Asked to speak to a supervisor because at this point I need someone to make this right. I guess we were not important enough to speak with one! Really disappointed in the respect and service I received. Signed up with a local company hopefully it will go better.

Hired TruGreen for service for 2019 calendar year. Price was a little high, but went with it. All treatments up to the last one were fine. Last treatment was only done to front yard. Upon calling the local office i was informed that my service was ONLY for front yard....why would i pay hundreds of dollars for just my front yard??? Back yard was treated on all previous visits. Individual on the phone (Dennis) said they would need to remeasure and possibly charge me MORE for back yard inclusion....ridiculous response considering the service I signed up for was for MY WHOLE YARD. Cancelled my service. Will be going with a local service instead who know how to treat their customers right.

I called the True Green 800 Service number in April 2018 and tried to schedule local service for lawn care, fertilizer and nitrogen treatment as I have three dogs. I played phone tag for three weeks, as they kept scheduling service on my work days (shift worker with three dogs). When True Green finally scheduled a person on my day off, the work was only for fertilizer, not mowing the lawn or nitrogen treatment. I was told I had to call the 800 number for mowing and nitrogen treatment. I called the 800 number once again and was given two different days for lawn mower and nitrogen treatment. I finally just canceled. Trudy at the call center credited me the $55.95 for the five minutes worth of work. I received a bill from collections from the Littleton for $55.95. Horrible, horrible place to work with. I tried for over a month to get True Green to my house for all the services that I wanted and it was a scheduling nightmare. NOT EVER AGAIN.

I have two basic complaints with this company: 1. They cannot get rid of a weed that is spreading in my yard (they said they could). 2. They make promises and fail to live up to those promises.I originally hired TruGreen about 18 months ago to eliminate a patch of weeds – which they said they could do. After several treatments, they then told me that the best way to get rid of this type of weed is to over seed – I paid extra for this service. Result: this patch of weeds went from an area of about 25 square feet to an area of about 400 square feet.Early on I contacted them several times telling them that the problem was getting worse rather than better. I was told several times that a manager would contact me to meet and devise a plan. This never happened. No call… No meeting. I cancelled the service.I was then contacted by another representative questioning why I had cancelled (note that they knew I had cancelled). After explaining the entire story again, I was told that my issue would be pushed up the ladder to a “general manager”. She specifically said, “It will not be a service manager”. A week later, I get a call from a service manager.They did not perform any service after my cancellation. Then about two months later, I got home from work and there’s a hanger on my door. Yes! They performed a treatment and billed me for it.Throughout the entire 18-month experience, I had requested that they give me some prior notification about services being performed. I explained that I had a German Shepard that is very territorial. Every time I expressed my concern they assured me that I would get a computer call the day before and the tech would call when en route. This rarely happened (maybe 25% of the time).My advice is to stay clear of these people. Their techs are very nice… their office staff just don’t get it. They’re still trying to collect for the service performed long after I cancelled.

I live in a moderate income neighborhood. I have engaged TruGreen for many years and am pleased to say I probably have the nicest lawn within blocks of my home. I cannot measure the quality of the job done but the appearance shows excellent results. I appreciate the schedule left on my phone and find that pre-paid arrangements allow me to have this great service. If and when I have a specific problem, TruGreens responds with a solution.

I came home from work and found a note saying TruGreen treated my lawn with fertilizer, weed spray, and pre emergent today. I didnt order any service from TruGreen. It turns out they serviced the wrong address, and were supposed to service a house up the street. This normally wouldnt be a big deal to me - mistakes happen, except the we spent the weekend before fixing some grading and reseeding the lawn. The pre emergents they applied have now killed my seed, and Im out a weekend of work, the cost of seed, and now Im stuck with a terrible looking lawn with huge bare spots until fall. I called them and spoke with a manager and he told me, why are you seeding in the spring anyway? Youre supposed to wait until fall. No resolution, no real apology, just someone telling me Im wrong. After 30 Minutes of arguing with the rep on the phone I am supposed to get a call back from another manager - well see. Id look elsewhere for lawn service.

Last spring Trugrewn killed my backyard. They sent their “manager” to come look at it. Even though I requested to come when I could be around, he came at a time I was working. Called me and of course “Mother Nature” took a toll on my yard. Mind you, I had Trugreen taking care of my lawn for 4 years prior to this. Also, another alarming fact is that my neighbors, who use no service to fertilize did not have grubs. So after calling them out and them catfishing the issue I cancelled service. So Trugreen then sends the technician to still service my lawn and tries to charge me for the service and grub treatment! After going round and round to figure out a solution best suited for both parties, we decided that I would pay for the services prior to cancellation that year even though it killed my lawn. Long story short, I received collection notice today on the account and a call to restart services this year! I can easily pay the $240 they say I owe. However, it’s principle at this point and who is holding these companies accountable. If nothing else, listen when I say RUN to from Trugreen. They are the biggest scam artists and suck $1000s per year from customers. Either find a more honest company or do their fertilizer yourself. If anyone has suggestions for a suit to file against this company I am all ears. I have all the pictures to prove how bad my lawn was and still is. It will cost me more to re-sod the damage they caused. I hope this helps someone making the decision to use Trugreen or not.

I have been having issues with my turf for several months. When I notified TruGreen, they said a manager will be in contact with me within 48 hours however this never occurred. When I called in again, they again said a manager will be in contact with me within 48 hours. This time a manager actually did reach out to me, however he was extremely condescending and rude. He said he would visit my home and then follow up with me, however this did not occur. TruGreen called me attempting to upsell me on additional services at which point I asked to cancel my account. I was transferred over and begrudgingly offered one more opportunity to them to have a manager rectify the situation. Yet again, no manager has called me. Do not have a male service personnel ring my doorbell at 7a.m on a Saturday - woke up the entire household and frightened me- had no prior notice of arriving at 7a.m. Additionally my HOA has written me up for my lawn having weeds and brown spots - even though I have paid TruGreen for years - my lawn is up for fines by the HOA - hasnt looked green and weed-free for a long time.

Service is always good. Lawn always looks great after the service. I normally dont see the TruGreen guy. Price is right for my yard. Sometimes I have to call office to make sure the requests that are written down do get missed occasionally.Also this season it appears that the broad leaf isnt getting take care of as well as past years. Its worse this year then ever.

Horrible business! Cant take instruction, and they push off services you request and do the ones they want instead even after months of us requesting a specific service! I cant believe they are still in business! What kind of company runs like this! They wouldnt even right a wrong. We have been requesting spring aeration and overseed for the past 4 months and it never happened even after multiple calls to them, now what do they tell me? It is past the time frame for those services and they wont do it!!! If I could give them 0 stars I would have. This wasnt the first thing they screwed up either. Stay far far away from this terrible company!

Worst service Ive ever received. Dont hire this company if you value your money and lawn. I purchased a 7 service package in early April. They said they would come out every 4-6 weeks. They did not. They did one service in April, another one 2 months later after multiple calls from me, and basically never came out for the next service unless I hounded them. In the end, they piled up 4 of the services in the fall (not when I needed them). I called multiple times to complain, as well as sent emails, and they never replied or had anyone call me back. Very bad service. Dont pre-pay for anything with them if you really want your service.

This is hands down the worst company I have come in contact with. 3 years ago I prepaid for an entire years worth or service. I received that service and it was ok. Not thrilled with it so I didnt renew my contract. The following year two services were rendered without my knowledge or authorization. I never received a bill for them either (apparently they didnt update their billing address for my account). Last October I received a collection call from some transworld company trying to collect $308 for tru green. Didnt know about any of this so I called tru green directly. They explained the situation to me, I expressed my dissatisfaction with them and reluctantly paid them so this ridiculous matter wouldnt affect my credit. Fast forward to last week, another collection call from transworld whatever explaining I still owed $308... called tru green they stated my account was closed and no balance was due. I was assured no further calls would happen. This week I received another call from transworld stating that yesterday, they had received confirmation from tru green stating I owed. Again called tru green. No debt owed. Now Im receiving a call from their manager on Friday, as apparently all supervisors are out of the office today. This is ridiculous I paid for services I never wanted 6 months ago to avoid having my credit damaged and now Im still dealing with this awful unethical company. If my credit is damaged from this I will be forced to seek a lawyer to fix damages as Im currently also trying to buy a business. Never ever do business with this company!!!!!

They keep scheduling then bumping me until later, and dont even notify me. Absolutely horrible customer service! Poorly managed local office that doesnt care about the customer experience at all.I switched to Lawn Doctor 5 minutes after I fired Tru-Green, they are coming out a week earlier, and they are cheaper by at least $10/service, using same treatments and services as Tru-Green. I recommend that everyone avoid using Tru-Green and switch to Lawn Doctor--MUCH better customer service. The Tru-Green manager in Littleton should be fired.
