Friendly staff had all the parts I needed to repair my truck at a reasonable price
First time I came in, was reading the signage and looking for where to go/what to do to get started. One sales staff just stared at us and said what? It was really awkward. We had tools and although the signs said they needed to be inspected, they just passed us through. When I brought parts back to check out, was surprised at the cost of the items, but they let us put some back. I then returned a little over a week later to return some parts I didnt use. Slightly more welcoming then, but they didnt mark 3 of the vents last time and wouldnt give credit for those. I guess next time I have to remind the employee to mark all the parts? Not super inclined to do that since these guys are about as friendly as a box of wet rocks. Dont you want repeat customers? Be nice and build a warm relationship with your clients, jeez. The owners overly defensive responses to a lot of these negative reviews arent making me very comfortable with wanting to go back either. (Yes, Im aware some customers lie or are unreasonable, but they can still have some tact...)
This is a great junk yard. They have a couple other locations, so if you pay to get in at one of them then you can visit any of the others on the same day without having to pay again. They are usually friendly. When you first walk in they will ask you what make/ model/ year of car you are looking for parts for and they will make you a printout with the details and locations in the yard of any matching/ similar vehicles. They will want to check your tool bag on the way in and the way out to keep down theft, and if you are bringing in an old part with you to match it up they will mark it so you dont get charged for it on the way out. The $1 admission includes all the fuses, bulbs, clips, nuts, screws bolts and light sockets you want. They have wheelbarrows you can borrow for free and restrooms are available. You can buy any part you want, you just need to bring your own tools. The prices are extremely reasonable. I highly recommend this place.
I recently bought some Subaru parts at the Napa yard. They have a good inventory, fair pricing, well organized yard, and friendly employees. The inventory can be checked online before you get there, so you know right where to go. I have been to several of the other locations and had good luck there as well.
I would have gave a 5 star if you didnt charge me a dollar to take a five minute look at a car just before closing. My niece was also charged again and she was there earlier to look at the same vehicle. Otherwise everything was good with friendly service.
I went there to get a window motor for a 1994 cutlass supreme. Online, new, with a 1 year warranty is less than 50$. The guy charged me 30$. I advised him I thought that was a little much for a motor that is used, has no warranty, and I could get a new one for 20$ more online. He was very rude, just shrugged his shoulders at me, and scoffed. I will not be going back there ever again. I hope others have a better experience.... after reading Jalopy Jungles response - as I said, the same part online, new, with a 1 year warranty was only 20$ more, I feel like it would have been a much better deal that way instead of driving there and back, getting searched to see what Im bringing in, walking around with a bag of tools, taking the time to pull the part, and getting treated rudely for no reason. The only reason i didnt just walk out without the part is because I was there, it was done, and I was tired. Thanks for the invite back, but no thanks!
Nice and clean... as clean as an auto wrecking yard can get. Always happy to go to the yards... The vehicles are accessible. Generally the parts I need are there...
Poor customer service. I arrived to Jalopy Jungle at 3:13pm. Online it said they were open till 4pm. The guy gave me a list of cars to choose from. I had no idea how to find them. I actually ran to the listed cars due to only having 15 minutes. I got the part I needed in 15 min after running around. Made it to the counter at at 3:30 pm. Due to being rushed and poor service I decided not to buy the part and order it online for the same price. Really bad customer service.
So far all of my dealings with the employees has been great. Ive been able to get in find that they do have the parts Im looking for.
Its a junkyard. What can i say!Jalopy is well organized. Upon entering you tell em what your looking for. They give u a paper telling you where to look and charge u 1$.I enjoy going. Its a adventure. But then again i dont go everyday.Ive been able to fix some simple things on my car.By just going and seeing.
Love this place, they let us walk through their parts yard allowing us to scope new arrivals and pick through parts. Everything is in computer index so you can walk straight to your targeted parts donor. The staff are helpful and friendly. All this at a fraction of the cost as a parts store.
We found the exact vehicle we needed parts from. The only tool we missed taking in was a wire cutter. Got everything we came for and the prices are very reasonable.
Love that you can easily find a vehicle you are looking for on their website. Makes getting in and out way faster
Would be a better place if they allowed parents to take their teenage kids in and the parents can take full responsibility for their kids, some parents want to be able to teach their kids how to work on vehicles
Fast and friendly service! Reasonable prices and as clean as a pick and pull can be.
Love this place, you usually can find everything you need. Very reasonable pricing as well. Staff very friendly.
They should catalog what engine sizes they have wasted 3 bucks to find out the the truck that was my yr make and model had the larger engine thats just different to not be useful to me and it was in the back of the yard
This jalopy has alot of cars to choose from, their inventory is always growing and updated often, Alex at the front desk is a cool guy and is very helpful and knowledgeable about the yard and all its parts. My favorite jalopy to go to in all the valley because I know Ill walk away with what I need and the expert advice from Alex to get the job done right. Thank you.
Always my favorite place to go even to get away from home. Great customer service!!!
Good thing that they had some cars and trucks to hide out in.the strong stormy afternoon left allot of cold H2O on motherearth....but it did settle the DUST...YAY 🙌...
I absolutely love pick a part. They make everything so easy and quick. Just wish they had a standard price guide to estimate off of.
Good place for junk yard diving. Have good stock and good service.
Always my favorite place to get car parts, good pricing, and tearing apart rigs can be a fun couple activity. I bring my wife with me because she finds all the lucky parts!
Found everything I was looking for and then some
The employees are so nice.. Alex is always there to help u out and tells u what he thinks about certain parts. I only go to this one.
Very good customer service 👍👍 and always have the parts I need !!!
I was in the yard to pickup a used spare tire for my sons jeep. I call the office to see what they would charge for a stock Cherokee wheel and tire. The guy who answered the phone asked if it was an aluminum wheel? I answered yes. He said that it would be $25. I wheeled the wheel and tire from the all the way in the back to the front. When they rang me up he said that it would be $45. I said that I just called and they said it was $25. This is not the first time that this has happened. 😠
Found the part that I needed again for a moderate price.
The only problem was the import row was so far out there. But they sold me the tires cheap 😂
They stayed open an extra 5 mins when we got there, 5 till close. And overall they were really cool with us. Definitely my favorite of jalopy jungle so far.
Where are the hours of operation? They are not on here.example... What time does Nampa yard opens?Idk, I dont see it.
It is a junkyard. Lost my keys so it wasnt a good day. Start early on a hot day.
I love a salvage yard where I get to go out and get dirty. Picking my own parts makes buying used car parts that much more fun.
Tim was very helpful on the phone and in person fast friendly service
Cool place for da pick a part
Very well organized, very friendly staff. Reasonable prices and they answer any questions you have. Its a good place to go if you need parts.
Very good. Got lots of parts to repair several cars.
Best used car parts/recycler business in Idaho.Read my testimonial about an angry lady vs your professional staff member.Great job!
Nice staff. Found a hard to find part that was reasonably priced. Easy to find the location. Must be well liked as I saw alot of people there.
Very very clean yard well organized easy to find the cars you need. I really like the web page you can lookup their cars on hand inventory before going. I have been there a dozen times and over all was quite satisfied with the yard. I have been to a dozen junk yards this is the cleanest and safest environment for picking of any I have been too. With that said dealing with difficult people outweighs alot of the benefits. The man with the longer almost 70s style hair is hard to deal with. I spent 2 hours and about only about 80.00 there Monday. I mistakenly grabbed the wrong plastic engine cover. So I went back Tuesday at 5:25. I walk in at 5:28. Wait about 2-3 min watching one employee ring up customers while another had his head buried working on something below the desk. He says the yard is close. I said I have been here about 5 min cant I just grab an engine cover. His response No you havent I saw you walk in. He then shows me a clock in their wall that is about 3 min fast. Yard is closed!. I asked why are you the hardest guy to work with here. His reply I am not. I am thinking wow there is someone worse than this guy. Maybe he is the famed Tim everyone writing 1 star review complains about. I reply you are by far the worst I have been here about 15 times in 2 years you are the hardest guy to work with. That is my experience weather you agree or not. Whoever he is needs some people skills. He did not get upset but he just come across rude and condescending.Again all I needed to do is pick up a plastic engine cover and two snap on trunk struts row 31 or 33. I was there before 5:30 and would have been done well before 6:00. I knew exactly where they were.
Thanks very convenient. Love this place
These guys were very helpful and polite! Obviously it depends on what youre looking for, but I was able to find everything I needed with little issue.
The Pick-a-part Jalopy Jungle salvage yards are the bread.n.butter of quality used parts when you observe w/a sharp eye, correct knowledge of how to pull each (deal) w/o damaging other parts for the fellow dismantler!
I love this place! The employees are great once you get to know them ; )!!! The cars turn over quickly so it’s not a bone yard. Rarely have I been unsuccessful at finding the part I need in good condition at an unbeatable price.
Good place to check out when looking for things for my make, year model ride. Half dozen or so examples there to pick from. Prices are fair. One dollar entry fee includes some items to pick. Check the sign when entering. Fairly nice helpful staff. Not too busy on weekends with a short wait time to sign in and get a list of vehicles with lot location.
I have used these guys many, many times to pick up used parts for projects or customer vehicles. To date I have pulled and used 6 GM truck LS based engines to replace broken ones or to use in hot rods. The price of the engines after tax and a $50 core charge is $231. I get up to the front to pay for the one I pulled this morning and the counter guy says its $301. The price list on the wall hasnt changed yet I get gouged for an extra $70 because the counter guy says this engine is more desirable. Price list on the wall states domestic small block V8 engines are all the same price. Looks like bait and switch to me.
I think this is the best way to get whatever youre looking for. Theyre reasonably priced and it allows you to learn a thing or two in my opinion. Also the staff is knowledge and that helps a great deal!!!
As you walk in the front door, make sure you look at the price on the board to the west/right. It tells you the price on every part. Helpful staff, spent about 4 hours looking at parts/trucks. Everything that you will need is there.
The gentleman who answered the phone was SO rude and not a bit of help. I explained I was handicapped and needed to find out some info, his response was whelp can’t help ya, you just have to come in yourself and look for the tire I was looking for. I was told they could pull something like this up on a computer to at least give me an idea. What’s sad about this, is that I remember love going to their locations Nampa/Boise with my Dad when I was little. Did you all get to big for your britches and can’t help a 53 year old handicapped lady? Shame on you
The staff was very friendly and showed me where to go, they were more than fair on price, I wish I had gone there in the first place, excellent customer service and dedication,is what makes going to visit them on Nampa,
This is a great car graveyard to pick up parts and pieces and save tons of time and money- They have a good system of organizing and cataloging Vehicles so they can give you a quick list of locations and you can easily check for the particular parts you’re looking for. It is a do it yourself place but if you don’t mind getting a little dirty you can replace anything on your car inside and out for peanuts! Besides being very practical it is a lot of fun to check out all the vehicles - It is kept as safe and orderly as you could ask for in this business which I appreciate as well.
Staff is friendly when it comes to buying parts but it comes to buying a car from you have to deal with the biggest Idiot known to man a guy by the name Tim, he is gives Idiot a new meaning, so if you are selling your junk car take it somewhere else..I went and Liked all of you rude and bad customer service reviews for you, You can choose to take a blind eye, but the writing on the wall is clear, I will NEVER do business with that Manager and encourage EVERYONE TO GO ELSE WHERE!!!! Bait and switch on all the pricing in and out of that place plus dealing with Tim, Totally NOT worth it..sell a few undercut double charged parts and get that dude some People skills and Customer Service training..
Great prices, gazillions of vehicles with loads of good parts. The inventory gets rotated frequently. Pretty organized & the staff are friendly & knowledgeable.
They have decent prices if you can find what you want. Tons of cars spanning decades of makes and models. They dont inventory trim or which engine and drivetrain each vehicle has, so have to spend time walking the lot to look at each vehicle. We spent an hour today and didnt find half what I was looking for since none of the cars had the configuration I needed. The admission is good for the day at all sites, so I could go to the Garden City or Boise location without paying the $1 admission again. The admission includes all the fuses and screws you could find.
Going to Jalopy jungle there are just about anything you may need to replace on our aging cars...
Friendly staff. Fuses and small items are usually free! It would be nice if they had loaner tools, even if u had to pay to use them. They give a list of rows that have vehicles with interchangeable parts with whatever vehicle you are fixing. The dollar entry fee is affordable. The rows are a bit confusing at first but once u realize they are numbered side by side its not hard to find what you are looking for.
The yards closing time was 6pm. I showed up at 5:29 and they said that entrance to the yard closed at 5:30. Wouldnt let me in the yard because I was upset. Who wouldnt be? I drove all the way across town.I knew exactly what I was looking for and where, but the manager didnt care. I go here all the time. Or now, at least I used to. Customer service has gone downhill, and the response to this review shows exactly that.
This place is awesome and the staff is always great
Very good selection of cars, pretty good prices, they pay decent for your cars too, the staff are helpful for the most part, but you gotta come with experience and knowledge, you gotta know how to take the parts off and you need to know what tools you need. Come prepared. If you do come prepared you’ll have a good time and get some good parts
Great as always
Not sure about this place very big and great prices. Website said they had several durangos but when i got there there were some accessible but the others were stacked 4cars high in the back and not accessible without a ladder.
Its a good place to get cheap parts. However, you better know how to do the work yourself. You will have to remove the part from the vehicle, as well as install it on the vehicle youre trying to fix.
Great place to get parts
I called this location twice in the last 3 months about the same vehicle being sold to them. The first time they said they would pay $100. And then yesterday they said $50 and no more because the price of scrap was down. The man I spoke to spoke down to me rudely. I made a call to the Caldwell location and the lowest they offered me depending on the damage was $100. I ended up with 3x more at the Caldwell location for my vehicle and with great customer service. Same company. Customer service is a bit shy of acceptable on Garrity. Worthwhile to drive another 10 minutes if they will have your part on hand.
9 out of 10 youll find what you are looking for!
Excellent place to find a part and only $1 to get in. $37 for an alloy wheel. Saved me a fair amount and had a large selection.
Bad bad experience. Thieves are working there!!!
Awesome. I was preparing myself for the typical employee I hate my job bs. The two that were there were awesome. One was an older guy and the other had a red beard. I was an automotive retail manager for 27 years and would have been delighted to have them work for me. He asked if I needed anything else and if I would like to go back in the yard to look around for other parts when he knew I didnt need anything else. Wow! Fantastic customer service. Thank you!
Pretty expansive yard with all kinds of inventory. You will have to pull the parts yourself, but that is part of why it is so inexpensive to buy parts here. Customer service is good and as with all jalopy jungles they can find out if the car you are looking for is at one of their other yards.
This place requires you to bring your own tools for extracting parts and they charge a fee. Call ahead to find out if they have your part theyre a good place
Always a great place to find cheap parts in a pinch or if you cant find them anywhere else. I needed a pigtail brake light assembly for my Buick Regal, and the only option online was $50 and up. I found what I needed at Jalopy and I only paid $4 for it. Awesome!
The guy up-front was rude, no greeting no help whatsoever. Seemed like we were inconveniencing him.
Parts... Parts... And more parts, if you can break it they have a used one.
Its located in a nice area... Continue to change out there stock....good job...
Organized and easy to find what I needed. Very please with the workers and the help I was able to get from them.
Nice go there when I need part works out pretty much all the time.
They always have a great selection of cars to pick from
Great for cheap used auto parts, pick and pull yourself! Much to choose from! Id say on average 08 and under for parts anything newer will not usually make it here...but does not hurt to check! Bring your tools! They do have wheel barrows and they sell used antifreeze and batteries with warranty!
Totally rude and disrespectful never seen a manager abuse customers more than this guy, has never abused me personally but im 6ft. 250lbs he clearly just needs an attitude adjustment, the lady in Caldwell is a sweetheart and my go to!
This place is like a treasure hunt, you never know what you might find. Everybody should experience the excitement of looking at and over and through beat up old cars. Free fuses !! Why are you still reading this get going head over to the junk yard and have a look :)
If you are a car person doing your own work this is the place to look for parts. Nothing like it where I live so I will drive 5 hrs each way to go to Jalopy Jungle. Its worth it
Called ahead of time to ask a question and was hung up on 2xs while on hold. Made the trip out there from Boise to dond they sisnt have the vehicle I was trying to ask about although it was on their Inventory list. Wasted trip
Super friendly staff
Pretty cool place to go. They have cars thrown about and you have to pull the parts you want off. I went here a few times and the experience was pretty cool. Great place to find cheap parts
The lady that runs it should be put behind bars. She had no respect for anyone. And tries to take the law into her own hand... And thinks she can put her hands on me... And accusing me of stealing. When infact it was one of my disabilities... And why its ok to make her own prices for yard items that are different from the other pick a parts... Sounds like she needs the money any way she can get it.
I found my year, make and model here with obsolete parts and it was awesome! I like old cars and sometimes parts are very hard to come by so when I called and found out they had my year of car I rushed there to get what I needed. I heard that they crush cars around 95 or older so thank you SO much for not crushing it just becasue its an 88, I really needed those parts. Also, they have a HUGE organized yard with lots of cars. Highly recommended!
I have been coming here for years. The majority of the staff has worked there for a while and I generally get descent enough service. Lets be clear, Im not walking through the door and expecting them to come running to greet me or anything. I even buy the convenient annual pass every year as it saves me money. When you walk through the front door there is an easy to read, laminated, giant pricing list on the side wall. Here you can clearly see the price of the parts before you go out into the junk yard and pull them. I have always been charged according to this pricing list, until today. I spent hours out in the yard walking cars and pulling parts only to come inside to pay and be told the price of one item was double the price listed on the wall because the one seat was electric. I asked the cashier if the different electric seat price was reflected on the pricing sheet on the wall, he stated it was. I walked over and asked him to show me. He could not as there was no different price listed for electric seats, or anything stated to charge double the amount for one seat and not the other. I then asked for a manager, the cashier pointed at another guy and said we can ask him but he isnt going to charge you less the other guy said prices subject to change thats all that matters. I told them that would make sense if they had pricing originally distinguishing between electric and non electric bucket seats or if they just chose to raise the price of bucket seats all together, but that wasnt the case here and they needed to honor the pricing they have on their wall. They refused. So I left hours of hard work sitting there because I REFUSE TO BE SCAMMED!I called the Boise location and spoke to a female manager who gave me the excuse of the pricing board is old and outdated, we have ones being printed right now, but we havent changed them yet. Besides, the boards are only used as a guide not as actual pricing Are you kidding me? How is a Giant list up on the wall of almost every part on a vehicle possible followed by an exact price not a pricing list? Again I have been coming here for years and have never been charged anything different then what was on this giant pricing sheet on the wall until today.I informed her I would not go into any other store and purchase items off the shelf with 1 stated price only to get to the register and have the cashier charge me whatever they wanted, this doesnt make sense at all. Apparently everyone has to ask what the part will cost now before they pull them because the huge list on the wall that says PRICING doesnt mean anything at all according to management.Obviously this business is headed in the wrong direction and I will be taking my business elsewhere.
They have good customer service. Always have what I am looking for. Great place to get car parts and for cheap. I recommend this place awesome people.
Always a great deal.
Great parts and prices, sucks when you see guys getting parts just to resale on eBay.... Makes for slim pickings at times.
Didnt have my part. Only gripe
Gladly charge you a dollar to go look for parts they know are not there.
If you dont find what you are looking for here you need a seeing eye dog
Great place.A playground for the mechanics.
Awesome place to find parts you need
Great staff both fast and friendly
Used to be the place to go for parts for good deals but they raised their prices so I dont go as much
They always have what i need and at prices that are more then fsir!!!!! In most cases its a quarter of new or reman prices at the local parts houses.
