I had to find another Dominican Shop, because mines closed early. This shop was down the street and charged the same prices as my regular salon.I loved the service and the fast pace from the hair wash, drying, and flat iron. I was in there little less then a hour and half.Love it!! I liked that they are open until 8pm. Thats a plus! I will be using them anytime I need a backup Salon! 🙂

Melody is my favorite, that woman puts me to sleep washing my hair lol like a spa day for my hair and scalp. But what I love most about her is she cares about my 4C hair, the healthiness and growth as much as I do! I look forward to my hair appointments with her. Once again I got the chance to have a spa day I went to go see the girls here and had a great pleasant relaxing experience from getting my highlights touched up and a blowout then going to get my nails done the woman in this salon are nothing but the best!!!! Very disappointed! I had a Dominican Blowout and a trim for my 20th bday and they burned my hair!!! My “trim” was very choppy and uneven and looked terrible! One of the employees burned me hair, I have beautiful healthy curls and now I’m left with brittle, burned hair!!! My hair isn’t curly anymore and just look awful! I wanna cry. I made a phone call to the manager and explained what happened (she offered to do over the trim and deep condition my hair at no cost) but guess what? My hair is trimmed but I’m still left with fried hair!!! I found that the manager ( Christine) did not even really care, she couldn’t even be bothered after seeing my how burned my hair was in person. The service was terrible ( she didn’t even take the time to apologize or explain what I can do or anything) Her actions showed how much she didn’t care! Then the manager (Christine) tried to tell me that I should wait it out because it takes some time for something to return to it’s original state after being “pressed.” They wouldn’t take the blame at all!! If you don’t want your hair burned, don’t go! That’s all I can say. They don’t care! I’m never coming back here!

Way too overpriced. I paid $80 for a blow out with deep condition.

I called the day before and the person who answered was so nice and helped me book an appt for the next day and explained anything I asked. I had an early appt and was greeted by staff and taken to a shampoo chair - I had Miss Ramona service me and she was so sweet and caring ! She inquired on what service I was getting - was always checking on me - I have long thick curly mixed race hair and she never once made me feel bad about it or the amount of work, etc . She carefully worked through any knots that came up, made sure I was feeling okay - when it came for the trim she showed me how much she would cut - let me know how often I should get a trim - checked with me on if I was okay with the heat being used. She was just wonderful. I’ll definitely be back next month - my whole experience was great for a first timer - all staff seemed nice ! Thanks!

I had an absolutely amazing experience at Cristina O Salon. They are very professional, hospitable, and the work they provide is amazing!!! They even have hot coffee for clients and a very welcoming space. I would recommend this salon to anyone in the area!!! I drive 40 minutes just for this service

There is absolutely no way I can return to this salon. The owners prices are extremely high which is the epitome of greed. I paid $105 for touch-up color alone, not to mention an additional price for deep conditioner, which I brought my own. The prices here are insanely high for someone with soft, curly hair, but let alone, expensive regardless. Even when I was getting relaxers, I was not charged this much. This is not even competitive with other Dominican salons in the area. Other salons are much cheaper, so cant understand what is driving her prices other than greed. Since most women are now embracing their natural hair, it just seems to me that these types of salons are increasing their prices to compensate for most women no longer getting relaxers. Would have liked to give more than one star because I liked the stylist; however, the owners prices are off the charts. I would have been a client; however, I think I will wait it out until my regular hair stylist returns to work.UPDATE:In response to managers reply, greed appears to be very much a factor. You charge $109 for touch-up color in comparison to surrounding Dominican salons whose average charge is $70-$80. In addition, if you are really sorry to see customers go, appreciate them and they are your main priority as you say, you would modify your prices to be within reason and competitive with surrounding salons. This seems to be opposite of what you say.You support 90% of your customers to go natural, but the fact remains that they are paying more to be natural than having chemically relaxed hair.

I never have any complaints when I visit Cristinas. The staff is customer service oriented and passionate. No complaints here!

I asked for one thing and the lady Absolutely failed at what I asked for. I over paid for a cut that I did not like and if course they did not care that I did not like the cut.

This place is the absolute best! I went last night and Romona was the best! I walked right in and was greeted right away...they were super nice and the atmosphere was really nice. The salon itself was nice and clean. I needed a miracle done to my hair after to very bad failed attempts at two separate hair cutlery’s on Saturday and then again on Sunday. Romona literally transformed my hair and she gave me exactly what i wanted. I went in wanting a blowout and my hair is so nice,sleek, and bouncy. I was taken right away and got a shampoo with deep conditioning which felt so good! I was in and out in just a little over an hour, with the best results I’ve ever seen on my head. I highly recommend this spot. I’ll definitely be coming back as a regular customer. Once again thank you Romona and I’ll be there in 2-3 weeks again!!!

I went to this place to lighten my hair in a professional place because obviously I did not want to do it at home because for fear that my hair would fall out and I understand that my hair was dark (black), the stylist seeing that it was dark, they agreed to do the work. I understand that is a long procedure and several sections need to be done, it was the worst experience I came out crying after spending $ 300 the hair had ten thousand colors I have a line crossing my head my ruts are brown red and this supposed to be a Ombré !!!! I call for my money back and she told me she don’t do refund she tell me to go back next day to get it fixed . She started the process again foil every where I can hear my hair frying in the end I was not satisfied but I understood that it was a matter of time she told me that I did not have to pay anything to fix the hair end up paying $ 50 for the treatment. I spent a week and thats when the worst happened, my hair began to fall out, it was dry and hard. I called to see if they could give me a treatment or something to soften my hair $ 75 my hair was worse as hard as a stone and more split than when I arrived. when I got home I called to complain she told me come back again and we will give you another treatment honestly when I get there next day I told her that it would be better to cut it up to my neck (the first time I went I had my hair up to the middle of my back) I didnt want more heat in my hair. I think that a child cuts the hair better, the hair is not even at all She tried to give hide in the ends so that I wouldnt notice it.went home and I feel so disappointed. I can’t believe how many times I went there and spend that much money . I did not want to comment on this experience because all the people who work in this location are very nice and I chose this place because I speak Spanish and I wanted someone to understand what I wanted and support the business. Today after a week and a few days Im BALD had to cut my hair COMPLETELY !!!!!!! Its funny when you go to a professional everything goes wrong.

I’ve been getting my hair done here for years and it has been great. Their new nail tech is really amazing too. The wait times are reasonable. They give out snacks. They show concern for their clients and address all my hair needs appropriately.

These hairstylist are amazing. You walk in and you are nicely greeted, most times I dont have an appointment; that was never a problem, even then the wait time is little to none, because they help each other out. My first time there, Ramona (love her 😊) did my hair and the rest is history. Ive also had my hair done by Bibi, and Francia (really nice ladies).Their customer service is exceptional, Elsa is amazing! While waiting to get your hair started or under the dryer, they offer hot beverages/ water and/or snacks from a cute little basket. Not to mention the salon is kept very clean and organized. Ive been a proud customer for 14 months now, never been disappointed. I love it!

I take my girls to this salon. I trust them with their hair unlike other salons that I know (but cant prove) that had to have used a chemical on my daughters hair. I have not experienced anything but kindness, professionalism and affordable services at Cristinas.

I was in the area visiting for thanksgiving. I decided on this salon based on the number of high reviews and I was not disappointed. The staff is so friendly and as soon as I got in there was no waiting it was straight to the sink for my wash. I really appreciated this because I was fresh off a 6 hour drive and was exhausted. Since I was a first time customer I got a free deep conditioning treatment and I had a blow out. Ramona did my hair and she was awesome. She took her time and made sure my hair was bone straight and wrapped it up for me before I left. I had to bring my kids with me and they were super accommodating for them. I will make it my business to get my hair done here every time Im in town. Thanks ladies!!

The service was great. My daughter doesnt like anyone doing her hair. I found out about this Salon cause the owner was passing flyers around the mall, so we decided to try it. Gentle with my 4C natural hair. My hair was roller set and then blown out and curled with a flat iron. The heat from the hooded dryer was comfortable, not like other places that had me baking. Also, the blow dryer was not too hot. In and out in 2 hours. Great customer service.

I came to Cristinas because of the reviews. I have been searching for a while for a natural hair salon as I am just unable to keep up my hair on my own. First and foremost the customer service and the friendliness of the staff is far above what I have ever experienced. The three star rating is because I didnt get the style I wanted which was flat twists and I was constantly pressured to get a blow out. What I ended up getting was flexirods and I am still sitting under the dryer as I write this so cannot comment on how they turned out, although I am confident it is fine I mean it is safe to say the use of a flexible roller is common knowledge in the hair business. I understand there are those who despite being natural do not want to see the natural so to speak but I am one that feels if it is how it grows out of my head lets work with it. How the lady kept pushing a blow out made me feel that it is a bad thing that my hair is naturally curly or that I have a curl pattern. She kept saying how much better my hair would be. I know she meant no disrespect but I knew what I wanted when I walked in I even had pictures of the style so I didnt need a pep talk. If I wish to look like my European counterparts I will come back because they seem to specialize in that but for me the search continues.

Cristina did my hair yesterday. I am a new client, she informed me of what I needed to do to get my hair in better shape. I was really nervous to go to acalled this place today and they said they were not busy so I went in for a Wash/Set/Blow Dry and to get my eyebrows done.nd eyebrows and did an amazing job. I also got a trim and I love someone who knows just how much to cut off to make your hair look fantastic while keeping length. They recommend what is best for your hair which is nice instead of trying to give you services you dont need. They make sure you leave happy. Overall my experience was very pleasant and I will be visiting them again in the future.

What can I say... Each time Ive been here - the ladies treated my daughter like she was a princess! They took VERY good care of her and her hair.... the results have NEVER disappointed. She gets sooooooo many compliments on her hair each time she gets it done! As a mom, I absolutely love and trust these ladies with my daughters hair and would recommend them over and over again!! I love this place! My first time here was this Saturday. As I was waiting for my stylist (Tomika), I was literally amazed with all of the stylists work. Everyone in there left with a beautiful style! I have my preference, but there doesnt seem to be any poor choices. If you havent been here before, I am pretty sure any one of those ladies would guarantee you leave slayed!

They offer advice on how to care for your hair without pushing products or treatments in order to make a quick buck. They offer discounts and specials frequently, they make scheduling easy, and you never have to worry about long waits as a walk-in. Most importantly, I have not yet been disappointed by the service I have received. One night, I worked late and they were still able to accommodate me. I couldnt believe it and was so grateful because my hair looked crazy walking in, lol! Not only are they fast at getting it done but my hair is full, shiny, and sleek every time I leave. I am so happy to have stumbled upon this salon.

Love these ladies! I did a walk-in last night, hair a matted tangled mess in need of some serious tlc. When I left my hair was silky smooth and healthy again and the price I paid was very inexpensive for the work I needed done. I went to Cristina O today for a basic wash set blow. Price list says $45 and up. Typically to me that means shorts hair (chin length) is $45 and anything longer is priced accordingly. Well I was wrong, apparently chin length hair isn’t considered short and the fact that I went on Friday to a completely empty salon the price is more. I walked out with weighed down greasy looking hair. After spending $50 I want to go home and re wash my hair.I gave them 2 stars because they were nice and the salon is clean.I recently relocated here from New York and I have yet to find a Dominican Salon that could do my hair properly. I’ve tried 4 different salons in the area. I went from getting my hair done every week to not wanting anyone else to touch my hair.

I love the stylists in this salon. They really know how to take care of my hair, not just style it. My hair has grown from shoulder length to the middle of my back-- just in the last year. I highly recommend going there if you have natural hair.

This was my first time here. I really, really wanted to change up my hairstyle to make it a little more versatile. Its been growing out as a bob, but Im not into the style that much so I wanted to cut it. I dont feel that they really grasped what I wanted, even after I showed them a picture of my preferred look. Instead of, Ok, sure we can do that, I got, Oh no, but your hair is so pretty; everyone has that hairstyle! SINCE WHEN DID I SAY I WANTED TO LOOK LIKE EVERYONE ELSE?? It kind of pisses me off now, because like I said, I really wanted a new cut and style. What I think the stylists MEANT to say was, they didnt know how to cut it to the way I wanted it, which wouldve been fine; at least they wouldve been honest! I wasnt happy with the way my hair looked before and Im really not that happy now. Pricing was fine and the stylists seemed nice, but they didnt do what I asked for. Back to the drawing board I guess.Went back again for a fourth or fifth time today, but it seems every time I ask for volume no one understands what I mean...My hair looks limp and lifeless. I dont think Ill be back unfortunately, sorry. Price is great, sure. But when you dont get what you ask for the first few times, theres no point in Coming back.

I went to Cristina Os after not having my own hair treated in awhile. I was offered either a free trim or deep conditioning. First off, even after getting the free deep conditioning, my total came out to over $70!! Not including tip. All I got was a wash and blow out- those prices are OUTRAGEOUS and while I found the owner to be nice and helpful, she really needs to re-consider the prices.I would also like to point out that the blowout is PAINFUL. I winced in pain several times and the stylist didnt seem to care- I guess shes used to it. At one point the top of my hair was smoking so bad (like it was on fire) I touched it because the pain was so bad- the stylist got mad and told me not to touch it because its hot- A DUH! reflex reaction. Its been 2 weeks since my last visit and the top of my hair is completely broken off. It is fried and crunchy from all the heat.If you have natural hair, this is not the place for you to go. Time to repair the damage this place has caused my hair.

I HAVE ABSOLUTELY FELL IN LOVE WITH THIS SALON. Ever since I moved from the Bronx Ive been dying to find a Dominican salon like one back home and this one definitely takes the cake! Ive gotten everything from a sew in to an ombré done and I always walk out in love with my hair. The staff is super friendly and one time I brought my toddler there and the accommodated to her active needs to keep her quiet! Overall it is just an amazing place and my new home for hair!!!

Love the service here. The prices here are a little more than other Dominican shops but well worth it. Your hair is fabulous everytime no matter which stylist does it.

I really love coming here. I dont get my hair straight very often but when I do, this is where I go. Im natural and my hair needs a gentle touch. They are very gentle, they dont over heat and I always come out looking fab!

I just love this salon. The customer service is great and I just love how my daughter and I hair look when their done. They specialize in natural, weaves, color and just about everything - you name it, they can do it.

I loved my hair initially after getting it done. Im natural and understood the risk of my curl pattern being altered. I was fine with that, but now my hair is much thinner and my roots continuously grow in straight. I had a very coarse root, and now it wont revert. My hair is extemely damaged and has lost its elasticity. I highly suspect theres chemicals in the conditioner as they made it a point to over- condition my hair and scrub the roots. NEVER AGAIN, BEWARE.

After about an hour of waiting(which was pretty good for it being a weekend I think) I was able to get a blow out. All the ladies were very kind and made sure everyone was supplied with snacks. I tipped both that helped me 20%. However, the style is not staying as straight as other blowouts and will most likely last a month.

WARNING!!!! This salon charges RIDICULOUS prices! Long story short, I was quoted one thing over the phone as a new client, and was charged another! After reading some of the reviews... I should’ve heeded the warning, but because there were more good reviews than bad, that’s why I decided to give this place a try. Yes, the ladies were nice. Their skillls on the other hand were not top of the line! Did I love how Francia cut and curled my hair, NO! Did she bother to offer and how me what she did to my hair (like most stylists do to see if you’re pleased when they’re done)... NO! What I went in there for was so simple. No wash and set because my hair was already clean, only a (not even) 1 inch trim off my ends, and quick style/press with a flatiron. They charged a shocking $50.00 for that! I wouldn’t have minded, but she didnt have to do anything special to my hair at all!!! I was there for no more than 30 minutes. This isn’t some top of the line salon. Francia used the same generic products that can be purchased at any beauty supply store. There was no “special” branding like what’s been stated in other posts. Quite honestly, there was nothing that stood out to me about this salon! From the looks of things, not their hair products, their heating tools, or hair dryer chairs. When I first walked in my first impression was... this place looks ok. What they’re more than likely charging exorbitant prices for is their retail space in an office building. There are no prices displayed anywhere, and when I asked, I was handed a flyer that they pass out on the street for new clients. This review is strictly based off of principal. Obviously, this was a bad experience for me which was my first and last with this salon.

Celebrating my 15th year of having natural hair and no matter what state l desire to leave my hair in these ladies have it in wraps. No heat, little heat, color, rod set, wash & go, trimming ends, they wii do it. I having been coming to Cristina O Dominican for over two years and experienced fantastic serivice from France, Bee Bee, and Romania! Cristina ODominican is home for me. 😍 Love it!

Over priced 60 Dollar wash and blow out . My hair IS NOT EVEN LONG . Basically Not worth it. The lady was pulling my hair out as she was blow drying. She burned my ear with the flat iron.the lady before me was upset about the cost. I already knew something was wrong. 60 freaking dollars, thats beyond insane. Im not going to stand there and cause a scene I just know never to come back and to spread the word about this.

The stylist make you feel like family

My grandma passed away on 9/11/16 & because I didnt want to sit in my house crying myself to sleep, I decided to walk in on 9/12/16 to get a mini pampering session (Mani, pedi, and blow out) Walked in on a Monday evening and everyone was patient, friendly, and helpful (I couldnt decide if I wanted to dye my hair as well) My mani and pedi was done by Sandra and she was THEE ABSOLUTE BEST!!!!! She is so sweet and she took her time with both the hand and foot massage and the polish job. Francis did my cut and blow out which I absolutely loved!! She ended up staying behind at least an hour to complete my hair because I came so late and the entire time I did not feel like she was rushing, she took her time and I really appreciated my experience and will definitely go back!!!!!

If you are thinking of going here TURN AROUND AND RUN!I tried this place because a friend recommended it and I was looking for a place closer to home (my regular hairdresser is an hour away, but well worth it).I went in and asked for a cut and ombre. I showed them a picture of what I want. THE RESULT WAS AWFUL! I couldnt get into it with them right then because I had an infant waiting at home and my babysitter kept calling. When I got home everyone that saw me was horrified. It looked like I died my hair copper and let the roots grow in for a few months. There was no blending. It was basically a straight line dividing the copper and my natural color. If you look at top and back of my head, it looks like Im wearing a small black/brown yamaka.I wish I could show you a picture so you can see just how bad it is.I called them and the owner offered to fix it but I didnt want anyone touching my hair after that incident. At first she offered to give me my money back. Then later she called me and said that she would only refund the money for the color. I agreed. THEN she said that they charged me only $50 for the ombre, and the rest ($70) was cut and blow dry. Thats such BS!! You want to tell me a blow dry costs more then ombre?!?!I ended up having an emergency appointment with my regular hairdresser who told me, that in addition to the miserable attempt at ombre, there were virtually no layers in the back, just the front. It took 3 hours and almost $200 to fix it.Save yourself the trouble and go somewhere else! I recommend Salon Virage in VA.

Too expensive..Im from NY where the cost of living is High and we have Dominican Salons all over and I spent $ 145 on 2 wash and sets compared to 4 wash and sets in NY. Thank you ladies but never again. I could see if color or perm was involved but nope just wash and set.

$85 Very pricey for a haircut and blowout on medium length hair. Language barrier was also an issue. Wont be coming back again.

Took my wife to get her hair colored and they burned her hair color was not the correct.she had more than two colors it took them more than 7 hours to finish ended up really ugly we went back to see what they can do all they said they could wash it stay AWAYYYY ALL THEY WANT IS TO TAKE YOUR MONEY
