Leaving this review on behalf of my girlfriend, who recently had a terrible experience at Nailed and Lashed around the corner. These were her notes:“I went to Vela because I had seen good reviews on Yelp. They had pictures of some of their previous work and I saw this really cute floral design that I liked. So, I called the salon and it was either the manager or owner that answered. Either way, they sounded very busy and asked if they could call me right back, which they did within about 5 minutes. I asked about getting a gel manicure and if she could fit me in that same day. She had an opening for later that afternoon, which I promptly booked. While on the phone, I mentioned the photo that I’d seen and asked if I’d be able to get the same, which they said would be no problem. When I arrived, I immediately noticed how busy the shop was. It was a really cute shop, and had all around good vibes. The lady that greeted me had me wash my hands right away and go to my station. Once seated, my technician gave me books of gel colors to look through while I waited and a bottle of water. When I showed my tech the photo of the hand painted floral design that I’d mentioned before, she told me that it was something she could do and what the extra cost would be (which turned out to be extremely fair). She helped me choose the colors and I left a lot of it up to her artistic interpretation. She was quick, but efficient and careful. Very high quality manicure service, and the design came out better than the photo! Even with the custom attention, the entire service ended up lasting only about an hour.I’m writing this review about 10 days after service and there is still no flaw in the quality. Considering that I have since spent time gardening, doing chores around the house, and going on a hike in Zion National Park, there’s not even a chip! I even fell during the hike because I got freaked out by a wasp 😂I will absolutely be seeing my technician Vy again. I have found my new nail spot!”The second photo is the 10-day update

My mom and I walked in to get a regular pedicure and gel manicure. Everyone working was friendly and accommodating. We both picked out a regular polish color that they said had a matching gel shade. The pedi here was really great. However, the gel did not match the regular pedicure color at all. My tech said “gel is typically lighter” but we consistently get gel manis and have never experienced this. Further, 2 days later my polish began to fade, and appears to be more of a tie dye with whatever base coat was used, rather than the solid, darker lavender shade I chose. Each of my moms nails faded to different shades of coral. This is unbelievable for a service that totaled 176$ before tip.

Second time. Such a lovely atmosphere. Professional and friendly technicians. Just moved here, worried I was not going to find a salon like back home. Well its not back homeits better. Great pedicure, beautiful nails. Love this place! I highly recommend Vela Nail Salon.

Prepare to spend money!!Great service but I’m not spending $93 (before tip), for a regular gel manicure and pedicure again.

I dont normally get my nails done and wanted to commit to doing that for myself on a regular basis. I needed appt same day and they accommodated me with no issue. Everyone was so kind and happy. Great customer service. Jimmy did a great job on my nails, were going on a month and my nails still look good. Im definitely coming back for a fill. Only thing I didnt like was the dip powder was being used out of the container. I read that doing it that way is not very sanitary. But other then that. I enjoyed my service.

This salon is BEAUTIFUL!! I expect that theyll get busy pretty quickly. I called and received pricing over the phone, and was able to make a same day appointment. I was greeted quickly and shown to an area to select my colors. The receptionist answered my questions and then told my selections to my tech, Jimmy. I was getting a gel polish change for my fingernails ($30), and a regular toenail polish change ($12) I made sure to verify the price before I sat down, because some salons like to add charges at the end. They do charge more if you want accent nails, but because theyd already quoted a price, didnt charge me this time.Did I mention that the salon is beautiful? It is seriously gorgeous. The decor, color scheme, all new chairs, all the touches really make it a very lush, relaxing environment.Jimmy was great. He was friendly, yet not over talkative, and explained everything and asked pertinent questions. I actually thought I was going to end up paying more because of the accent nails, but the receptionist honored the quote she gave me, which I thought was great customer service.The cost is a little bit more than my normal salon, but for the environment and customer service, I understand! Ill definitely be back.

I took off a star for each of 2 reasons:First, my upgraded pedicure was interrupted by the manicurist starting on my hands. I couldn’t enjoy the foot massage because my arm was being pulled across my body so my hand could be filed and polished. And then the pedicure was ended earlier than my friend’s who was started at the same time. It was a disappointing experience.Second, the woman at the desk was rude and told me that I was responsible for asking that the manicure be done separately from the pedicure. So be forewarned!!!!

The lady that did my pedicure was super attentive. All the staff were very nice.

Very clean, very friendly and professional business. I love the work they did. My boyfriend loved his mani/pedi too! It was a much needed pampering. If anything, I highly recommend the Ritzy pedicure. It is the best.
