Living here for one year. Didnt have any problems. All maintenance requests were done in timely time. Pretty quiet location, close to public traffic stops. Portland Downtown is about 35-45 minutes driving one bus.

The worse apartment ever!Everything is old and everything doesn’t work... my dishwasher stopped working from first month I moved and I called them million times and no one fixed it I moved out without fixing my dishwasher so I spent around 11 months with no dishwasher also when I moved out they didn’t give me my deposit back! The whole deposit for security deposit and my pet deposit! I left my apartment very clean and everything is well except the dishwasher which was very bad from the first month! My advice do not waste your time and money with old complex and old appliances! And in the end when you leave you will never ever get your deposit back...

Wonderful management. Beautiful grounds and quiet apartment life. I never heard my neighbors. Upkeep is great and the grounds always look beautiful!

For easy things the management was adequate, whenever we had requests of the management that went beyond fetching packages, we were met with either a condescending attitude or complete apathy. We had problems with our downstairs neighbors constantly smoking cigarettes on their balcony, and being excessively loud nearly every day (keep in mind we have lived in college dorms and have a high noise tolerance) and literally nothing happened the entire 10 months that this was going on. I have never felt more disrespected than when I voiced nearly everyday about my unacceptable living environment and was ignored every time. We had another issue involving another tenant parked across 4 parking spots, one of which we paid monthly rent for, and it took them a week to make her move her car.We had a roommate move out in the middle of our lease, and they continued to charge us for their utilities long after she left. When we approached them about it, we were given an attitude and told for the first time that we were supposed to sign a form clearing her from the lease. We offered to sign it then but in the following months the management could not find the form and we never got to sign it...I know Lewis and Clark is in close proximity to the apartments, but I would not suggest this option for other students. These are just a few examples of a terrible year for us, I do not feel that as a young person Jennifer took my tenancy seriously and felt highly disrespected. That being said the units were nice and the maintenance guy was a real asset, make him the manager.Also...on the day we were moving in we had one of our friends helping us (a black man) and one of our neighbors did an extra lap around the parking lot to roll down his window and ask can I HELP you? To our friend who was clearly helping us move in...so having someone close to us immediately racially profiled was also fun.

The entire move in and application process was very convenient. The management never hesitated to answer any question we had no matter how minor it was. The maintenance personnel are very professional and go out of their way to ensure there are no other issues in your unit after they finish their current work order. I rated this apartment a 5 out of 5 because no apartment community is perfect. However, the Sofi employees go out of their way to make it a 5 star experience.

Management cares and the property is beautiful. Wish the pool was heated but it’s still nice to lay out by in the summer.

We have had so many issues with this place and cannot wait to run away so we can finally sleep in the place we overpay for.If you want a place you can hide pit bulls as companion animals, a place where you can park in the red zone whenever you feel like, love throwing your trash outside of garbage cans, or like to smoke in a non smoking residential area instead of walking the 20 feet to the smoking area then this is the place for you! If youre lucky youll get to live under heavy running dogs or 2 teen girls that cuss and slam their doors at spectacular levels of rudeness and loudness. As a bonus you get an amazing maintenance guy (truly the only good thing about this complex besides the school district) AND the rudest and most inappropriately condescending manager ever; on the plus side you can tell she is a previous teacher because she talks to you like a misbehaving 5 year old. You will be passive aggressively ignored when you have concerns, you will not have a pleasant living experience, and overall youll waste lots of money signed to a long lease.Tl;dr if you know youre a bad tenant with bad credit this hole will take you.

The apartment is great, clean, and has a beautiful view. The staff are friendly and theyll try to help you with anything. The only problem is that before moving out, you have to clean the apartment very well, cleaner than the way it was when you signed the lease. Or you wont get anything of your $650 deposit.

Instead of writing a long review of everything that is wrong with this place I will give a pro and con list.Cons- Over flowing garbage bins- Bug problem- Mildew problem- Noise from traffic always constant- Sewage (literally poop) backing up in my tub and toilet- Constant plumbing problems- Small outdated gym with no a/c- Overly priced utility bills- Random leasing hours- No community events- Lack of concern or care for tenants- Failure to properly communicate when there are health hazards or problems concerning unit buildings- Non-smoking policy is not enforced- Paying way too much for what you getPros- Maintenance guy is friendly and works hard always with a smileShall I go on?

In all honesty, things here have been great for us. Apartment is modern, appliances are nice and the area is very safe. The parking is probably my least favorite thing we only have one spot and we have two vehicles, when my family visits they have very limited places to park and my parents are a bit too old to be walking up such a steep hill, but other than that, I have read reviews about rats? Have been here for about 8 months and have yet to see a single rat. Ants? Not a single ant in my apartment, so could be a tenants cleanliness that causes that problem. Management is always friendly, the maintanence guy is always in a great mood as well! Overall, I like the apartment, I feel safe walking to my car in the dark, I feel safe being home alone, the noise is your typical apartment noise, and if you cant handle that then an apartment probably isnt for you.

Nice apartments, facilities. Management is competent but lazy. Day to day issues like requesting maintenance, getting packages, etc. is fine. The kind of issues that you really expect management to resolve just get brushed under the carpet. Several events stand out.The first major red flag was after a snowstorm. One of the residents parked their car in front of my space and a neighbors space after failing to drive up the small driveway, and left their car there for about a week. Parking is enough of a problem to begin with (more later), so this was really unacceptable behavior. Naturally we left notes on the car asking them to move, asked the management to take action when there was no response, and they basically just ignored it. Near the end of the week a tow warning was posted on the car. Car was immediately removed. Thus I am convinced the reason I didn’t have parking for a week was because management was too lazy to put a glorified sticky note on my neighbors car.Second red flag of laziness was when I was formally warned about an eyesore on my balcony. It was my Christmas tree, it had been out for about three months at this point. Fair enough, I should get rid of it. But I was given a days notice after three months of receiving no indication it was a problem. It certainly was not a standard management took seriously most of the time. People routinely left boxes, trash bags, etc. on their porches. So what was different his time? Well, the day after receiving the warning, I spotted the manager walking the bigwigs from corporate around showing off the property. I speculate that she ignored the corporate standard for months and months, then realized she had to host corporate very soon, and threatened residents with formal warnings to save her skin. The greatest issue was our downstairs neighbors. He routinely smoked on his porch (not allowed), littered cigs everywhere (it’s a tobacco free facility for Christ’s sake), played music around the clock that was audible in our apartment. We complained so many times. They just didn’t do anything. Months and months of ruined sleep, anxiety, that sinking feeling in your stomach when you realize you’re going to be listening to basslines from Korn and Tool for the next few hours. They just ignored it. The pattern seems to be that the management is uncomfortable interacting with problem residents face to face, and the residents suffer for it.There were other minor problems. Posted office hours are essentially meaningless. The office is randomly closed during posted open hours. I can understand the occasional scheduling conflict, but this was far too frequent to be acceptable. We had a roommate move out, and had to sign some documents for it. We asked but never got them, and moved out four months later. They can’t manage parking at all. We got two parking spots when we moved in, and it was one of the nicest perks we had. However, there isn’t enough parking, people park in the fire lane, in reserved visitor parking, in the temp parking spots, it’s lawless! So to crack down on this, they redid the parking and we lost our second spot. Oh well.We didn’t receive our full deposit and didn’t receive an itemized list as to where our money went, which would have been nice. So, the biggest (and only?) problem was management. More specifically just Jennifer. I’m sorry Jennifer, you’re a nice person but I resent you for dismissing my complaints for months and months. You are not fit for that job.I would like to shout out the maintenance guy, he was great and very hard working. The other members of the office staff were also kind and helpful.P.s. For any young people looking for housing:I was 21/22 while I lived there and I felt like my age was part of why I was not taken seriously. Maybe it is hard to believe that a house of two 20 year olds is being terrorized by 35 year old cheese-rock superfan. Either way, I feel management was dismissive and condescending.
