The vibe of these people is strange, and Im really glad to have my son out of that dark environment. This is a type of culture to stay away from and I wouldnt send my child there again, we were there about a year and a half and wow its bad. How they treat each other is not healthy and how they see the children is even worse.
I dont have an experience of this gym, so I want to clarify that right away. But I do have a problem with the fact that their preschool curriculum is only designed for stay-at-home parents and kids who arent in school or daycare. They do not offer one single evening or weekend opportunity for a preschooler to engage with gymnastics. As the only gymnastics provider in Lafayette, this is a glaring oversight. Do they just not care about working parents? Are they against working parents? Its perplexing.
I’ve been a gymnast here for a long time, and it’s just the worst. There are a few reviews that mention the coaching turnover, and I can attest that every single beloved coach in the gym leaves or gets fired because of the management.A while ago, my team and I lost most of our coaches, with the promise that we’d get to work with the JO coach Leanne more because of it. We all love Leanne so much and they just fired her for no reason. So now we’re getting coached by other coaches that don’t care about us or our success at all. Leanne was the only coach in the gym that pushed us to be the best we could be, and now we’re all suffering without her. This gym needs to stop letting all of their decent coaches go, because now we are all looking at other gyms. They lost their best coach in the middle of season, and now no one wants to come to practice. If you’re looking at XA: don’t. Go to airborne or 5280.
If I could, I would rate this a 0 star. Last Saturday, my sister had her gymnastics meet and she got 9.1s and other 9.1s. When they were announcing youth winners for vault, beams, bars, and floor, and all round, My sister got NONE. And she worked so hard. Im not trying to be a Karen here, but I think its not fair, because she told me another girl got a 8.7 but STILL got a medal. I would not trust this place with their meets.
This gym is absolutely amazing! I have trained her for a long time and the coaches are so kind. They are always willing to give corrections politely and work with gymnasts of all different types. In short, I love working on skills at Xtreme.
My daughter has engaged in competitive gymnastics here for over a year and was previously at the companys sister site in Broomfield for several years.Overall, the instruction seems fairly solid, and my daughter enjoys attending and engaging with her friends in gymnastics. It is a fairly expensive sport, though I dont think that Xtreme is substantially more expensive than other studios. The staff turnover seems very high. Coaches are often coming and going for no apparent reason. This tends to be hard on the gymnasts. They spend a lot of time at the gym, so when the coaches suddenly leave, the gymnasts get upset. The studio also seems to have no concept of the fact that children attend school and parents work. There have been several times in which schedules have changed such that either it was impossible to get my daughter to practice without leaving work early or sometimes even without her leaving school early. Further, the family often has absolutely no say in the days/times the kiddos attend practice. The gym communications often say they cannot make exceptions to the schedule your child has been assigned. That is the most frustrating part.Im not sure how this compares to other studios because I do not want to move my daughter since she has made so many friends here. If schedule is potentially an issue for your family, and they change at least twice a year, consider looking elsewhere that is either more flexible or gives families more input.
We had my sons 3rd birthday party at Xtreme Altitude this weekend and it was amazing. The staff was so helpful. They helped with everything from setting up the room to distributing food to carrying the presents to the car. They were so sweet and even remembered the names of the 18 kids we had there. I cannot recommend it enough. The price was similar to other facilities, but for the customer service, you cant beat it. We even had another parent book their kids party there the next day because they were so impressed.
Love the facility! Great people who work there. Our daughter loved her gymnastics class.
I dont not recommend this business. The way the conduct them themselves is incredibly frustrating. Save alot of hassle finding out after the time and money is put out. DO NOT trust them.
Dont waste your time and money! Our daughter competed on their Junior Olympic team and at first we loved this gym. Then we ran into some financial difficulties about two months after we started. We fell behind during a two month time period, but got everything caught up and had a clean payment record after that. On the last day before Christmas break, we were informed that we were too much of a burden on them and that they were a very prestigious gym so they kicked us out. They told us they didnt think we could handle the increased financial burden as our daughter climbed the ranks. Im so glad they know our finances better than we do! My daughter lives and breathes gymnastics. When we explained the siuation to her, she sobbed uncontrollably for a solid 20 minutes. Prestigious? Sounds more like greedy to me! They would rather squash the dreams of a little girl than work with someone going through a temporary hardship. They see dollar signs instead of athletes!
This gym is professionally set up and has very friendly/knowledgeable coaches. The front desk staff could be a little more personable on the day to day interactions, but they are friendly when needed.Rhonda is truly the most amazing coach I have ever observed. She has a way of working with the 4-5 year olds that is second to none. She is patient yet manages the kids well, keeping them focused and task oriented, while making the time fun and engaging.
Have you been to a gym in the past and seen the kids walking out looking like ghosts because they are covered in so much chalk? You wont see that here - this place is super clean and so well cared for. The preschool teacher Chaundra is amazing with the kids and makes it fun and active for them. This is such a great place for all levels of athletes involved in gymnastics!
Be sure to do your homework and confirm the party coordinator/coachs approach: hands on/organized events or hands off. FYI, children over preschool age cannot use gymnastic equipment. They have a different approach than Mountain Kids - make sure if fits your expectations.
An amazing facility coupled with great management always attracts excellent coaches. Thats Xtreme Altitude! If youre looking for the right gym for your future gymnastics star, a fun weekly camp or just wanting a unique party idea, XA has it all. This state-of-the-art facility is second to none in the metro area and probably Colorado!
I love this gym! I am a JO lvl 5 gymnast at xtreme, with coach Heather. She is super nice and challenges us to be better! I 10000000percent recommend this gym😎😃😄😁😀
Took my 2 year old for a tryout and was very disappointed. The mats and floors were filthy probably because the coaches were wearing sneakers! Never seen that in my life! Number one rule in gymnastics- no shoes on the mats! They also spent too much time explaining and on each station. Very slow moving. Toddlers need to go, go, go! There was more inactivity than activity for the lil ones. There were 2 coaches, so I didn’t understand why they couldn’t make 2 groups. When I called and said I was choosing not to enroll my child due to the unsanitary conditions, her response was, “ok!”. Didn’t even consider the idea of having the coaches take off their shoes. Really? We used to go to Cats in Boulder, which we loved, but it’s just too far. However, I’d go back there before ever going back to Xtreme altitude. Going to try Mountain Kids in Louisville. I already called and the first thing they said after collecting my info was, make sure there’s nothing on your child’s feet! I like them already! Absolutely disgusted by this place.
Amazing place coaches are great. great activity for your kids or grandkids
Do not recommend coach Summer. My daughter had to quit because of her. She made fun of her calling names when she couldn’t do something just right. Also laughed at her. It was extremely discouraging. Very unprofessional and rude.
Massive and wonderful gym. Great staff.
Very great gym! Great parties, coaches, classes, and equipment! I highly recommend Xtreme!
I like it because my daughter loves it..friendly staff and very large facility
Very nice facility. Was only their for a competition, but looks like a really great gym!.
The best reason...my daughter absolutely loves it
My daughter is now passed level 5 and shes only been in gymnastics for 2 yrs her coaches are fun and hope that all the gymnasts on the team reach their goal or the olympics
Great place, wonderful coaches, only comment will be asking for healthier vending machine.
