Great customer service and great place to live. Customer service took the time to explain the situation and help me understand what was happening. Great place to walk your animals and it is very quiet here. Would recommend to others to live here.
I am a new tenant as I moved here in June, 2021. Everything was as I was told and I have had a couple issues for maintenance and they completed the issues in a very timely manner. Madalynn had done everything she said she would and it was so nice to be move-in ready after losing my home in Hurricane Laura and then my son November 13, 2020. So I had brand new appliances, flooring, cabinets and walls. I feel lucky to say well it does not feel like an apartment, but a home. Again, thanks to Madalynn, Tabatha and Cai for all their help and I have had to call on them for questions several times for different things that does not have to do with the building but maybe directions or where something is that is close by. I feel blessed. My fur babies are blessed too.
This is a place where your landlord is truly on your side. Staff is amazing, property kept up better than many luxury apartments, maintenance will have anything fixed literally within 24 hours or less. If you’re looking for a place in Lafayette, look no further. This is your place.
The staff only are nice to you when you move in, don’t ever think you will have your deposit back.
Very pleasant, I not to long moved in the staff at the office are very helpful and knowable . I enjoy my stay for the time that I have been here. Hope tostay for a extended period of time. VERY VERY PLEASED. I have truly enjoy it.....
I had a wonderful time living here. Very clean, safe, quiet place with several amenities in the community ( swimming pool, fitness centers, etc). Well kept landscape with lots of tall trees within the community which feels so good giving a touch of nature. Perfect location in the heart of the downtown Lafayette, with nearby grocery stores, gas stations, within walking distance. Very reasonable pricing for monthly rents. Further reasonable utility bills. The leasing staffs were extremely nice and accommodating and quick to respond to your needs . I was particularly highly impressed with the front staff Mr Braxton Cormier. He was extremely courteous, polite, patient and helpful even during the Covid times. On multiple occasions he went above and beyond to help out even on days when he was off. He is always smiling and full of fresh energy and enthusiasm. I am sure he will go a long way in his career.I would highly recommend anyone considering moving to Lafayette to check this wonderful apt facility and particularly to meet with Mr Braxton Cormier. Thanks !
I have lived at Bayou Shadows for the past 3 years in a 1 bedroom apartment and have nothing but good things to say. The few complaints I have are about the tenants, not the staff. That being said, the unpleasant tenants usually only stay for a few months and the staff is always quick to fix any issue you have. I am moving out and can say with all sincerity that I will miss this place. You cant beat their rates. I highly recommend Bayou Shadows.
I couldnt ask for a more efficient, professional and cooperative office or maintenance staff.
I have lived here now for 2 years, they are great apartments very clean and well taken care of on the inside, the outside is ok but there is a lot of dog feces on the ground outside almost everywhere you go and most times the dumpsters are overflowing for days and smelling up the parking lot. There staff is great they have addressed all of our problems in a timely manner and will have maintenance done fix things that day are the next. Overall I would recommend anyone stay here I have recommended 2 of my friends and they love it here theyre great apartments for a great price.
The apartments are OK according to price. I lived here in April 2019- March 2020.But the management is not much coordinating. It took them 3 cycle to repair a washing machine, after explaining that there is an issue with it. After first and second repair they said me it is working fine and that I am not using the machine properly (funny as I was using it perfectly for almost 10 months). Finally during third repair they said some problem in machine and they will repair it.
Great staff quiet well maintained. Highly recommend. Thanks for all yalls help
Do NOT break your lease after COVID-19. I lived here 4 years and had a mostly amiable experience. It was close to many local attractions, and I had the luck of the draw with neighbors. Near the end of my stay, the terms of breaking a lease changed, and there was an EXTREME lack of transparency and communication among management. I paid two extra months of rent, two sets of cleaning fees and had to surrender my deposits (pet and apartment).
Thank you, Four years When I just moved in to the 3 bedroom. And now in my 2 bedroom. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Making my move out and move in Very special. Thank you to all the staff. No other place I call home.
Old appartment with old carpet, blinds, cabins. Easily can hear the noise from people living upstairs. And especially if you want to live with hundreds of roaches.
The apartment complex allowed the apartment to flood three times from above and somehow felt is was my damage when it was time to leave. They do not maintain the buildings yet expect residents to pay the cost of their mismanagement.
Fair priced initially but they’ll be sure to charge you for other nonsense especially while leaving.(even on a month to month lease) Unpleasant staff after you sign on. Loitering in parking lots at night be sure you’ll be disturbed in your sleep.
The management and staff were so accommodating when it was time to transfer my lease to another apartment. They apartment looked amazing upon moving in! The staff were very efficient, friendly, and helpful. This is my third apartment at Bayou Shadows. I couldn’t imagine living in another complex.
I have lived at Bayou Shadows, in 5 different apartments, at varying times over the past 45 years. The first time was after graduating from college.I keep returning to Bayou Shadows because I have ALWAYS had good experiences. The staff has always been responsive to my needs. The maintenance staff are efficient and get things done in a timely fashion.....even coming out in the middle of the night when a washing machine in the apartment above sprang a “flood”.THANK YOU!!
I have now lived here 3.5 years and can honestly say I have not had much trouble. Sure, you get a noisy neighbor once in a while, but they never seem to last very long in this complex. The grounds are immaculate; the staff are some of the nicest people Ive ever dealt with in any professional setting, the maintenance is hands down the best of anywhere Ive ever lived, pest control is awesome and bugs are not an issue here. I have NEVER seen a mouse/rat around here, they are very pet friendly, and its a very safe location thats convenient to the Cajun Dome area, shopping, Oil Center, Downtown, etc. Dont hesitate to give this place a try, you wont regret it.
Even though there’s some bad reviews, that I, myself, don’t agree on. I’m guessing it depends on what area you’re living on of the complex, but my area is very clean, quiet, every one stays to themselves and have their area cleaned as well. I really have no complaints about this place..
I love my home at Bayou Shadows! The staff is always willing to help resolve any issues and work orders are tended to as quickly as possible. I made the mistake of leaving for a summer and came right back because they know how to make me feel at home!
Apartment over all is fine. We lived here for more than 2 years. Even maintenance service is fine. But the management staff can give you a real hard time. It is very difficult to get in touch with them for any issues/concerns over phone. I have moved out and needed clarification on my account as have been charged twice for carpet cleaning and other charges. its been 2 weeks and I am not been able to resolve that. Every time I hear it will be done tomorrow/will give a call back tomorrow which never happens. I have written emails as well but still no response. So this is very unprofessional and highly frustrating. So just keep this in mind before moving in.
The apartment is well and good. Cant complain about anything. But, there is a ridiculous policy here. You have to show that, you earn 3 times the rent each month to be eligible to live here. This is quite difficult for MS/PhD student to show that amount. This policy needs to be changed!
I want to provide 0 star, but unfortunately, I cant. This complex is good but charged you for everything when you want to leave. They also consider one penny. Also, the buildings are old and you face with cockroach several times. In addition, access to the managing office staff is too hard if you have a problem. So, I think you should be more careful when you want to reside there.
One of the few rental companies that care about their former and current tenants as much as future tenants. Premises are clean, maintenance problems get resolved quickly, and the staff really goes out of their way to make you feel at home. Mathew even personally mailed me a recall notice on my car months after I moved out. So refreshing to know that there are still honest landlords out there.
Lived here for a year. My apartment was near the office, in the front of the complex and I loved it. Quiet and clean. Finding extra parking is a hassle, especially during the week when employees are parked in the extra spots but other than that, I enjoyed my time there.
My roommate and I have been in these apartments for 2 years and never had any problems up until the start of the pandemic. During March, the start of quarantine and schools getting shut down, we started to have a roach problem. We just moved out on July 31st a few days ago and still up until that day the roaches have been running rampant. They had us living in roaches for 6 months and did the bare minimum to fix the issue even though we complained countless times. DISGUSTING! Then between us going through that and with so much uncertainty with the current pandemic, they charged us an arm and a leg just for us to leave our apartment. The amount equaling up to 2 months rent plus extra to clean their carpets. Gave us 0 relief. Wouldn’t recommend living here after this experience.
I have lived here for 5 years. We have had a couple of issues with plumbing, but since the new maintenance supervisor, things have gotten much better. They are redoing the outside of the apartments, and they really do look so much better. I am giving 3 stars because unfortunately I am in a very noisy building. I know due to covid they can’t evict, but this was going on before that, but I am hoping once that is all over they can rectify the situation. It used to not be so noisy in general, but I think some of residents are just taking advantage of the situation right now. There are too many people walking around at night, and I think the entire place needs to be gated to keep that from happening. We had one incident when we moved there where our bike was stolen, but the complex staff helped get it back. It is pricey, but that kind of helps keep the riff raff out. The inside of the apartments could use some new cabinets in the kitchen and bathrooms, also counter tops and mirrors need to be updated. I am hoping they are doing that next, and that it won’t affect the rent, but other than that appearance is presentable. They are in the middle of what I like to call growing pains haha. Covered parking is a huge plus. I am hoping for a fenced in dog park somewhere soon! They also don’t charge pet rent. Which is huge because most places do, which is ridiculous! It really is a decent place to live, and they are doing their best to keep it that way. Just wish the rest of the residents were as respectful as the rest of us!
I have been living at Bayou Shadows for about four years now. We have four swimming pools. That is one of our favorite pastimes here. The property is so large, we are always meeting new people. And also, when something needs attention, the maintenance usually comes out to handle it the very same day. I am very happy with our choice of living accommodations. I just thought I would give something back by saying these few words!
Quite place, the least I ever paid for rent. Reasonable place to live. The location is the best. Nearby all the best restaurants and nice gas stations, not to mention Rousse’s is around the corner. I love it here.
90% very satisfied. Lovely complex with friendly staff all around. Complex is HUGE. 90% because sometimes emailed maintenance requests can take a little bit if you dont follow up with them. However, thats a minor annoyance. Bayou Shadows is kind of pricey, but I definitely think the price is worth the value. Plus, pets are allowed!
Love this place so far! Friendly staff, quiet neighbors, everything you need is close by, such as Washateria, Gym, and Trash. A lot of places within walking distance, like fast food places, gas stations and the Cajun Dome. Still haven’t gotten my washer and dryer from maintenance nor have they fixed my cabinet doors. Apartment is older than the average apartment, but is still great for a college student or family. Have not noticed a bug problem as far as roaches go, but I have seen house spiders around the apartment. Not enough places for storage in the units in my opinion. I have no where to put my mop and broom, and the counter space is limited. The outlet in my room also shorted out my TV so be sure to use surge protectors if you move here! The problems I have with these apartments are so small compared to everything I love about living here! They allow pets, good price for rent, and it’s so close to UL and so many other places.
We have lived here for over 9 years. The reasons we stay here include: a location central to parks, libraries, restaurants, ULL and more; well maintained beautiful, spacious, tree filled grounds: four pools: a well equipped fitness center; a diverse tenant population and more. On top of that we are blessed with a thoughtful and friendly staff. The rare maintenance issue is resolved quickly. Other questions are answered professionally.George and Cheryl Placher
Minor issues with moving in, the people that had the apartment prior wasnt really nice fr what I have seen moving in but with the knowledge and help from Miss Hamilton Supervisor all is well. Some people just not cut out for a certain job, but this woman is very perfesional. I have been in law enforcement over twenty years dealth with many people. This person take her time with the tenant sees to their needs. being around her observing her work one time you never forget. For the age of these appointments. I cant complain. I love the location. Everything is near!
The grounds are maintained very well. Any time I have needed a repair, management responds within a day. I would highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for an appartment
Lived here since Dec.I’ve been hearing things moving around in the walls. Thought maybe my upstairs neighbor had a dog, even though I had never seen him take one out.I walk in the bathroom this morning to find a rat! My bedroom door as well as the bathroom door was shut all night! How’d It get in here?I’m terrified and feel highly uncomfortable staying here. I feel like they have been knowing about these problems and won’t fix them.
The grounds are kept up very precise, the maintenance men are always pleasant and serve us well. The office personnel are very pleasant.
Lived here for a little over 2 years and loved it. Never had any issues with bugs or rodents (And neither will most people as long as they keep their units clean.) and my only problem was the occasional noisy neighbor. Any time I had a maintenance issue it was resolved within 24 hours. Office and Maintenance staff were always kind, professional and available. Wish I could take this place with me when I move!
Some of these reviews are dramatic & somewhat unfair. And hilarious.Ive lived in two different units here since 2016. I never once felt slighted by the office staff or maintenance crew. They even responded to an emergency situation at night within about 3 or 4 minutes, recently.I will agree with the reviews saying the units are a bit outdated. HOWEVER they are *comfortable* and spacious where it counts. Theyre affordable for the area, and in a great location, walk-able to gas stations, grocery stores, schools, a few restaurants, the Cajundome... To me, the pros outweigh the cons which is why I still give 5 stars.
I have lived here for over a year now and it is wonderful. Maintenance here is outstanding. Whenever I put a request in to get something fixed, it gets fixed very quickly.
My neighbors are quiet. Maintenance comes when you call. Nice pool and pavilion.
This place should get no stars. Old, outdated apartments, takes forever for something to get fixed. People steal from these apartments very easily, my bike was stolen couple weeks ago, and someone elses car. DO NOT MOVE HERE. Pay the extra money and move somewhere nice or buy a house. Much cheaper.
This was the first apartment I lived in ever. Place was nice but straight up haunted. I’ve gotten chased by something twice. My bed started shaking for no reason. And no I was not on drugs .
We field outfor these apartments they say you must make three times the rent in which we do so they had us to add a person just to turn us down that was three applications fees that we want get back but i will be reporting them to fair housing.
Bayou shadow staffs are awesome. One of the best people, they serve the people at its best .
Great. Safe.. but parking SUCKS
I have now lived at Bayou Shadows for over 4 years and have seen the good with the bad. The complex Bad? Occasional residents whom either lack common sense and whom simply lack maturity. I personally would have preferred an apartment with hardwood floors thruout instead of carpet, but you cant have everything! Yes, the complex is older, but well maintained with staff thats easy to communicate with. Pools, exercise rooms, washaterias and covered parking are readily available. The resident mixture is a combination of various ethnic backgrounds and ages from college students, families with children to retirees. I have no issues recommending living here.
I lived at Bayou Shadows for about 5 years in two different units ( I transferred to a bigger apartment). The reason I wouldnt give 5 stars is because the office staff is hit or miss. They are not very good at answering the phones/communicating with each other. When I transferred I had specifically requested a Thursday move in and the girl I set it up with obviously didnt communicate it to anyone else, as when I went on Thursday to get the keys, she said it wasnt ready yet and they dont do Thursday move ins. They did, however, make it ready by later that afternoon rather than the next morning. Again, I dont think it was so much Bayou Shadows, as a whole, I think some of the office staff is just not that great. There are great office staff members though! Dylan and Bonnie are great! Also, I will say the office has certainly improved. When I moved in back in 2012 I would have probably given a 2 star, solely because of the office staff.Anyway, I didnt intend to make a review this long LOL.My apartment was clean and all maintenance requests were taken care of promptly. Not sure, why people say roaches are an issue here. I lived in two separate apartments, one of which was in the bag by all the grass and trees and I literally never had one roach. I currently manage an apartment complex, and I can say from personal experience...if you keep a clean, clutter-free apartment, you shouldnt have a roach problem. Most of the people complaining most likely left food out all the time or left their doors/windows open.
This is an excellent place to live. The management is great, the upkeep is awesome and they are always nice.
The girls at the office welcome you with both middle fingers extended. If this doesnt make you feel immediately at home, just wait until you get to your apartment room. Warm, friendly families of cockroaches are waiting to give you a cordial greeting. You dont have to worry about your new friends being exterminated, as when pest contreaux! arrives, they never really do anything at all. You dont even need to use an alarm to wake up in the morning, as the landscapers will be there around 6:30-7am 5 days a week. Sure, it only takes a day for them to cut the grass, but why would they leave when they can come back and get paid to blow dirt on residents cars. When the work out equipment breaks, they are prompt in getting it fixed, as in a year or so. I strongly recommend these apartments to Alabama Crimson Tide fans and Republicans. You will love it here!
For the overall quality for these apartments the price is too high.It needs an update, everything is so blah and the applicances are really old. Have told them a couple of times the dishwasher doesn’t clean it runs but dishes are still dirty ( I rinse off my dishes before loading them). Also ran dishwasher cleaner through it, did nothing. If I’m paying only $250 less then $1000 for a 1 Bed 1 Bath w/d connections, and things are really outdated or not working then I’m going to go pay 1000 for a 2 bed 2 bath gorgeous apartment in river ranch. What I’m saying is I wanna feel like I’m paying for what I get, 755$ a month is a good bit of money so I should have a nicer apartment.Staff are always very polite, helpful and kind.
Worst management and never answers the issues. Trying ways to keep residents with wrong leases and not sharing information
Good pricing for the apartments but management is slow and garbage. Constantly gives false and contradictory information. Lost our information multiple times.
The apartments are in dire need of remodeling. The maintenance crew is great but, you cant fix 40 coats of paint on the wall, carpet that smells like wet dogs, bathtubs that have cracked finishes, toilets that are uncleanable, moldy dishwashers that they are not allowed to replace, windows that will not open, and again, they are not allowed to replace. The place is great if you love living in filth. Rice has been painted into the cabinet shelves. Thats right, they did not wipe off the shelves before adding that 40th coat of paint. When you look before renting, the AC is on super cold so that you wont notice the nasty smells. Renter beware.
Been here almost 2 years. Love it
Excellent maintenance and thats about it.
Awesome place to live especially for a college student
Worst place Ive ever lived. Regretted moving here for the entire 12 months I lived here.
Great location but traffic is terrible in the area.
DONT EVER LIVE HERE.....EVER!!
