Terrible Experience!I just left this salon maybe an hour ago, very dissatisfied. I asked for a specific acrylic nails and came out with no acrylic nails and a bleeding pinky nail. Pics are below.I had mentioned many times that we did not have to do the specific nails if we did not have time, that I even had another color in mind. The nail artist told me we would need to take my nails off to be able to do the nails I wanted because they would be too thick. I finally said,” okay whatever we need to do.” She proceeds to cut my right hand nails down with finger nail clippers, gets another fake nail, and used the fake nail to try to remove my acrylics.(I have been getting my nails done since I was 14 years old, I have had one other salon do this to me and the same outcome happened, I left with bleeding fingers.)(I know well enough you are supposed to soak the fingers first and or manually drill them, not use a fake nail to remove the acrylics. That is not proper to do, especially if the nail artist knows it can hurt the nail plate/bed. ) If you have to ask if it hurts then don’t do it.She lets me know if it hurts to tell her. It did not hurt the first two times she asked but the third time I said,” yes that hurts.” No sooner than those words come out of my mouth, my nail starts bleeding, then she applies super glue to my natural bleeding nail. She says sorry, then says,” why didn’t you tell me?” I said,” as soon as it started hurting I told you, then it started bleeding.”She also said,” Why didn’t you tell me to do a fill in,” I told her at least three times,” if we could keep them the same or whatever we need to do is fine.”I said it was fine because I wasn’t expecting to have to pay $10 for completely messed up nails!! No that isn’t a lot of money but I didn’t come to a nail salon, that I have never been to, to get my nails ripped off!I tried asking her if we could do gel or shellac instead because I know my nails are weak and they are hideous without paint or acrylics, she said,” no because they were to weak it will hurt if you hit them.” I finally got fed up and said,” okay then, just remove them all and I will make an appointment with you some other time,” she then tries to pursued me to get another set of acrylic nails because my nails are too weak. I did not want another set of acrylic nails after the damage she had done to my nail! That would cause more pain than I already have and possible infection! And I know for sure it is not allowed to do anymore work on nails after damage like this has been done, the client needs to be referred to a physician. Oh not to mention, during this whole process, she didn’t have any gloves on.She thought she only nicked the hyponychium under my free edge, but it was not, she made a hole into my nail bed. The middle of my nail is in excruciating pain now.I will apologize for not speaking with the owner/manager, now looking, I definitely should have. I was very nice and polite to her and should have never gone through this experience.

I personally do not recommend this nail salon. i got a manicure about a year and a half ago, and i ended up getting staph infection in my cuticles that ran all the way up my arm. they do not use clean equipment all the time. recently, i decided to give them another shot because i was in desperate need of a manicure. I got the dip powder on my nails, and it has barely been over a week and they look terrible. One of my nails chipped the DAY AFTER i got them done. Not to mention it was $65 after a tip!!! I will not be back to this place in the future.

WORST nail salon weve ever been to. I would give zero stars if I could. We will never go back! They put gel nail polish ON A YOUNG CHILD! And, they glopped it on. The polish peeled off of 2 of her nails before we even left. They cut my nails unevenly and missed polish in spots.

This is my go to place! Always very clean, and tidy. Has a calming atmosphere. I always have Tina or Ray to do my nails. They are absolutely awesome! Always so friendly and nice! We have a blast laughing and talking. They both do an amazing job on my nails. Go check them out!!

I’ve always loved this place. Never had any bad experiences until the other day. I waited 2 and a half hours to get a pedicure and a full set. They took me back for the pedicure and when i sat in the chair I still had to wait another 20 minutes. The pedicure was great and looked perfect. Then when I went to get my acrylics, I asked how much it would cost for a simple design with regular polish and he said $56. So I decided to just do a solid color. Then I asked for an almond shape and he did my nails in a circle shape, not almond. The nails were barely even longer than my natural nail and i was still charged $5 for length. The nails are not smooth at all. Another lady fixed the shape and painted my nails. I waited 20 minutes for them to dry and the polish still messed up. Then 2 of them broke the next day.

Brian is fantastic. cared for my real nails and made them beautiful again. ill be back to see him

This one is the best nail salon in Kingsport. It very clean place. All the staff (tech) was very nice and friendly. It always busy here so is best to make an appointment. Hey, when it very busy that when you know they doing a good job and take time. When is slow than you know something is wrong. Lol.

I was recommended this place from a friend. I got the dip powder done four days ago before I went on vacation. None of them are smooth. One is already cracked, while another is already halfway gone!! Dip powder is supposed to last weeks. I enjoyed my pedicure, but together with the nails and pedicure, I spent right at $80 before tip. I will not being going back here! This is totally not acceptable and I can’t even get them fixed because I’m already 1000 miles away on vacation!

I’m new to the area and I was looking to get a gel fill. They were only accepting walk-ins at the time so I was helped as soon as I walked in the door. I definitely appreciated the conversation during my appointment! She was very professional and did an amazing job! I will definitely be going back!

My mom and I waited 2 hours just to get gel pedicures that were lazily done (1 layer painted on toes, no massage, didn’t fully remove the color I had prior to appt, no top coat applied). Then charges my mom $10 extra (even though we got the same thing). We didn’t want to argue the price due to our level of frustration. After 3 hours of being there, we both just wanted to leave. They need to rethink the true value of their serivce before overcharging their customers. We will definitely be thinking three times before ever coming here again.

This place has definitely gone downhill in the past 6 months. My last two trips were horrible. Ill never be back.

In the area for work and called this salon to get a Gel Fill and Cut down Called in advance to see if they did Gel fills. Was told on the phone by an employee that they did. I made an appointment for noon and at 12:30 actually had to go to the counter to ask how much longer did i have to wait for my appointment. Was taken back about 10 minutes later. I asked the lady that was doing my nails You do have liquid gel correct? Was told yes she then proceeded to pull out acrylic powder and told me that it was better. The did have a gel powder but she refused to use it and then talked to other employees about me requesting a gel fill.Did not listen to the customer at all pretty much did what she wanted to do. Not good Customer service at all. Will not be returning to this business.

I came in for a full set of gel acrylics. I got french v-tip cotton nails. After one day, I wiped my hands with a towel and one of my nails just came right off. I called and they said they would fix it and they did. Two days later, two more nails came right off from doing simple tasks like washing my hands and putting on a seat belt. I am very easy with my nails and I can usually go months without having to have any repairs while getting fill ins. The quality is not good here and I am torn with the fact I spent $65 on a set of nails that are half gone after two days.

I made an appointment for me and my bridesmaids for my wedding. I got an ombre set and gel pedicure. My nails look amazing I got a lot of compliment. My bridesmaids nails are wonderful. Highly recommended!

I have been here twice the first time I had an appointment and still had to sit around and wait awhile; however the girl that did them originally was wonderful. Had an appointment a couple days ago at 5:15, and was not worked on until almost 6:40. When I was finally worked on by a man I felt hounded at for only wanting a reg fill in and made to feel like what I was getting was ugly. He continued to try to push me to get gel which I did not want. I was not even asked about shape or length, he just did his own thing. This put a very bad taste in my mouth, I understand being busy but hounding your customers and trying to get them to buy something they don’t want is a bit ridiculous.

Best place to get your nails taken care of. They take their time and make sure you’re satisfied with your nails. Will be back for sure!

The staff was okay the facility is very beautiful however the quality of the work is not that great especially considering the price. My daughter and I went together and we havent even reached the 2 wk mark on the nails and 2 of hers have broken clean off. Just not the best of quality compared to other places and prices.

Love this place. Have been going here for 3 years now and have never had any issues. They are very profession but friendly, very sanitary and do an excellent job with acrylic, gel and dip nails as well as manicures and pedicures. Definitely worthy of the 5 star rating!!!

Tina is EXCELLENT for free style art work! I combined 2 different designs for my Halloween look and she did awesome! This was my first time at Polish Nail Bar and I will definitely go back. She even customized each cat as I requested. So happy with this look!

Absolutely mindblownDecided to go to Polish Nail Bar in Kingsport and get a set of acrylics because I wanted treat myself.Didn’t have an appointment but I checked in and waited, they weren’t super busy so I didn’t mind to wait. Waited about an hour, another lady came in without appointment and waited as well. Third lady comes in without an appointment, waits five minutes, then they take her a lady #2 back. Been waiting an hour at that point and was already contemplating leaving, which I should have done. They finally took me back after another five minutes and got me seated.I show the guy, Leon, what I wanted. Never says a word, just tells me to pick out my colors and walks off. Another lady comes over and drills my nails and gets them glued while he’s god knows where. Immediately cuts them into a coffin shape with a pair of scissors and cuts me twice with them.Leon comes back and searches for my colors for about ten minutes. Didn’t have them all so I chose some substitutes which was fine. Told him I wanted more of a shorter almond shape, which he dismisses and starts to put the acrylic on. Cut me twice while he was drilling them down. Rounds the shape out with a nail file and despite me saying I wanted them shorter and rounder, he just filed them a smidgen and then started painting them. Finished and barely put cuticle oil on, then told me to wash my hands and check out.set of $28 nails turned out to be $50. I’m obviously shocked so I asked why and he said it was extra to use different colors and that he used gel polish.Y’all. Nowhere in their shop or Facebook page does it say that it’s extra to do different colors and I never once asked for gel polish. There are google reviews talking about them using gel or shellac colors when a customer never asked for it. I paid and went out to my car and cried on the phone with my mom.Not only were they not what I asked for in the first place, I got cut 4 times, was WAY overcharged, and waited an hour to be this disappointed. There are places on my nails where he didn’t even bother to file them down and the color isn’t even even on half of them. Whatever oil he put on my hands made them crusty and disgusting. Upset doesn’t even begin to cover it. Don’t bother wasting your money here, just go somewhere else and get them done. I just wanted to treat myself for once and this is how it ended up.

I just got a set of gel nails 4 days ago and the lady that did them filed them down way too short when i asked for them long and STILL charged me 55$??? now i’m sitting here and realize one of my nails has cracked through the middle and is now hanging. she did not take her time at all and im very disappointed because this is where i usually go. definitely will not be back!

We went here to get our nails done for my sisters wedding. While my sister was very pleased and taken care of very well by one amazing employee, we each waited 1.5 hours for our nails (there were only 4 of us). Even when each of them went back, my name was never called and after 2 HOURS, my sisters nail tech told me my name had been deleted from the system and I needed to re-sign in. When I finally got taken to a seat, the lady told me my nails were too short to do French tips like I wanted (but I had just been told by another employee that they COULD do them), and I told her that a basic manicure with polish would be fine. This is priced at the front as $15, but I was getting 2 colors so I knew it may be more. When I went to pay, my total after tax was $35!!! I asked why so much and she told me she did Shellac on my nails, but she NEVER TOLD me she was going to do that.Long story short, my nails look great BUT I waited 2 hours, had my nails and cuticles cut up amd bleeding, and paid double what I asked for. I know there are probably some amazing techs here and people do have good experiences now and then, but unfortunately I was not one of them.

I went with a friend for a New Years nail design. I got a full set. Showed the lady the design I wanted which was a silver ombré with a glitter nail accent. I got grey ombré (looks like I slammed my fingers in a door) and paid $60 plus for this mess. I went home and added some silver glitter polish to the ends of the nails that were ombré. Then 2 days later the thumb nail broke straight across the glue line. Went back today to get fixed. The nail is shorter than the rest of my nails and crooked. Never again.

I visited the Polish Nail Bar this afternoon, and was seen quickly, and the nail technician, Nikki was just great! Shes worked on me twice now, and both times, she takes her time and I am very happy with her work.

I went and got a full acrylic set, less than a week later I had to go to a different salon because 2 of my nails broke off super easy..

Very clean and professional. Got a same day appointment. Paid close attention to detail and gave us exactly what we wanted. Will definitely come back and recommend.

I’ve been here twice in the last couple of months. I got a pedicure and dip nails the first time with my Mamaw and today decided to try shellac. Ashley took care of me both times and Ginger did my Mamaw’s pedicure. Both were very sweet and held conversation with us. Both times were just walk-in and they got me in no problem. They took their time and made sure we were was satisfied. Ashley suggested the gel on my toes because it lasts longer. While it is more expensive I have to say it’s worth it because I’ve had it over a month and even went to the beach and it still looks good. The dip nails held up well too. Highly recommend it here and nail tech Ashley!!

Since I was 17 I’ve been getting my nails done. Out of all the salons I have been to since I started getting my nails done, this one is by far the best. Not only is the atmosphere amazing, but my nails are absolutely perfect. They are beyond skilled. I will never look for another salon again. Angie will always be my nail tech from here on out. Her 10 years of experience shows. I would recommend her 15/10! Amazing salon, amazing service, amazing skills, amazing people!

Ive been to so many places in the tri cities for my nails and this is by far the best place Ive EVER been. Jonathan did my deluxe pedicure which was well worth the money! Everyone was so kind and funny and professional! So clean and nice. Thanks for making my wedding day awesome!

I’ve been to many nail places and this one is by far the BEST!! Today I received the best pedicure I’ve ever had in my life and the nail tech was amazing too! I love my nails! Plus they all speak English and treat you great. Unlike the nail salon near Five Below, Polish Nail Bar employees know what they are doing and know how to treat their customers! I will be a regular customer :-)

I went to get marble yellow nails and they had great service this one guy jimmy con he hadn’t taken a break in forever and was about to go home but took the time to do my nails and they were beautiful always love getting my nails done there can’t wait for another visit!!!!😁

I wouldnt even give them a star if I could. Ive gone to this place once a long time ago and had a great experience then. Ive tried to go twice again lately and both times were terrible. The first time I walked in (walk-ins welcome? Nope) and was told it would be 30 minutes. 30 minutes went by and I was told it would be another 30 minutes. 30 more minutes went by and I told them I was going to go elsewhere. They told me to call and make an appointment next time. So I did, and not only did they mess up what time I requested AND the amount of people, she was rude to me about it. I know what time I called about and how many people I called about. It was your mistake not mine. Giving me attitude about it was the wrong idea. Then I was asked to have everyone sign in and that they would do what they could. It wasnt until I got on the phone with another nail salon to make an appointment elsewhere that she came over to say they would try to seat us. We sat there for 10 more minutes then just left.It is a pretty salon but that is it. There is no ventilation either.I will never visit this establishment again. You lost a customer who gets pedis once a month and brings in at least one (and this time 3) other people. Pedicures are a treat, and I was treated like an inconvenience. Do not go here.

This is by far the best nail salon that I have been too. Over the years, I have been to many nail salons. I have been going to Polish Bar for 3 months now and never been let down. Their service is fast but detailed and thorough. I love the shellac nails and also getting a pedicure. Highly recommend!!!!!

Everyone that works there is soooo nice! and they do such a good job for good price. they’re my favorite salon i ever been too. all the salons i’ve been too have smelled really strongly of chemicals, here there’s no smell at all.

I went in to get a pedicure. The woman wanted me to get shellac. I told her no. I had a color picked out and they only had that color in shellac. So now I’m getting them painted at another salon today. She should have told me they didn’t have that color. They used to be good but service has really diminished. I won’t go back!

Great job! Clean. Quiet. Very thorough job. Kevin kept checking and re-clipping or buffing to make sure the job was done right. Havent had that kind of attention to detail in years. Very appreciated. Will be back.

I made a google profile specifically to review this page. I had very high expectations for this place & had a lot of recommendations. My sister and I both got a full set. The man I had kept using the drill on the nails & then used a nail fill, at least 7 times. My nails are so sore I can barely use my hands. While I was there for almost an hour waiting to get my nails finished. Not only that, he used a gel polish when i specifically didn’t want gel. I asked for a matte coat and got shiny!! He had another lady come over to work on them, because he couldn’t speak English & I don’t think he knew what I was saying what i want. The lady said “they look better shiny” instead of doing the matte like i asked. My sister had a lady that had her done in literally 10 minutes. Her nails are just as sore as mine. I do NOT recommend this place. They charged us both $45 when we asked for no gel coat. For all I know my nails are probably very damaged after this awful experience.

I went today for my 3rd visit to Polish Nail Bar. I have always gone somewhat early on Saturdays and have been seated immediately each time. Each visit I have had a different technician and I have received the same high quality service from each of them. I get a manicure with colored acrylic powder and the length and shape has been done precisely to my liking on each visit. None of the technicians have done any damage to my cuticles and the acrylic layer is never too thick or too thin. I have to say after 3, nearly identical experiences, I do plan to continue visiting this nail salon and will recommend them to my friends as well.

Hit or miss. Ive had a good experience here, but todays was poor. I called several times to try to make an appt. with no answer. I decided to try my luck as a walk-in. There was only one person in front of me when I arrived. Priority should always be given to somebody with an appt. but most places will try to work in walk-ins along the way. After 30 minutes of waiting and then more 5 customers being placed ahead of me, I knew my wait was likely going to be another 30 minutes (maybe longer as more appointments arrive). Due to poor communication, you are never really given an estimated wait time. I drove to another salon and walked right in.Takeaway: Without an appointment you dont really matter.

Best best best nail place in Kingsport. So clean, and the workers really care about what theyre doing. They will give you their honest opinion which helps a lot. Payment & tipping is very easy with a card. Nails lasted awhile and didnt bubble. Loved it!

Most of the staff seemed pretty nice but I didn’t really care for the guy that did my nails. I mean he did a decent job but he also seemed like he didn’t like what he was doing. and instead of trying to have a conversation with me, he was too busy talking to the girl sitting next to me which caused him to get distracted and mess up on one of my nails, which he fixed for the most part but it wouldn’t have happened if he had been paying attention.

In Kingsport for a family reunion. Waited an hour and a half to get a fill in and a polish change on my toes. Finally got out of there 3 hours later with one nail crooked and two with paint globs. Very disappointed...I wanted to get out of there so bad I didn’t even complain. Would NEVER recommend this place to anyone. I get better service and prices in a fourth of the time at my local salon.

If I could rate zero stars I would. Waited for over an hour. Got my normal gel dip. Within 4 days it was detaching from every one of my nails and causing my long nails to start to chip and break. I called first and then came back to get them fixed. Waited 35 min and finally asked for my money back. No apologies for the horrible work or wait. They did refund $45 of the $55 I paid. ($5 was tip) I would never go back. Likely worst nail experience ever.

I was recommended here by a friend. We walk in and someone finally walks over and then begins haphazardly cutting my nails. He barely uses any glue to glue the tips on. He does 3 nails then I’m randomly moved across the room to someone else. I show her what I want and she decides to experiment. She puts one thin coat of see through silver glitter then starts patting on blue glitter. The acrylic is bumpy and it feels like it is going to fall off when it has only been a week. The paint is chipping off and you can see the plastic underneath anyways. My other friend also got acrylic with polish but hers was only $40 while mine was $50 which I do not appreciate. The only reason I gave 2 stars is because the nail tech I had was nice.

Went with my friend and her older sister. Her older sister and I got acrylics. My best friend got a shellac manicure. The service was pretty good and the acrylics looked great. But they were in a hurry. I have never had acrylics break. Ive had acrylics plenty of times and theyve never broke. But these broke so easily. The procedure they used to put them on was correct. But they just rushed and my nails didnt have time to dry.. But overall theyre good. He rushed on my friends magnetic nails so the pinky finger doesnt look the same as the rest.

By the time my nails were almost finished someone was just getting to her. My friend had acrylics still on and needed them removed. The man who took hers off just ripped her nail off and it pulled over half of her natural nail to rip off and it started bleeding profusely. They did give her a small discount but it should have never happened in the first place.
