Got my vehicle fixed right but it wasn’t cheap.I chose to take my vehicle here because it is close to my home it is nice that they have a shuttle service also.I have used this place before on my other vehicles and they seem to get it fixed the first time.I had a small sensor replaced two small sway bar links and a oil change. The bill came to $1000And after they were complete the vehicle did run better and the check engine light went away immediately.I have had other work done on my cars that is more complex at other places even the dealership and that was more affordable/cheaper.They also did try to sell a lot of other random maintenance and repair services.They were also able to get my vehicle in right away and fixed it in a timely manner.So basically they do good on availability and quality of repairs. I did a follow up on the work and everything was done properly. I just feel that the work is overpriced for what was performed.

It does not Feel like Good Service. It is Good Service. I have used many Gregs around the Puget Sound and I have to admit these guys know what they are doing. I dont always speak to the Mechanics, I dont have to. Rest Assured, the Front Desk Support, and that is an understatement, know and care about you and what you are having done to your Vehicle.

I took my Vehicle here asked about one problem it was having . Had nothing to do with all the other stuff they checked out and charged me for . Super rude people and threatened to put it all on a car fax report and said we are giving you a good deal because we didn’t put it all on there. (300 dollars later)They didn’t solve anything and still couldn’t give me a straight answer on the issue just all other small things that has been wrong with it for yrs or that was on old engine codes. Worthless place rip off rude and unprofessional.

Be weary of this guy named Ryan there. He doesn’t communicate nor explain what’s going on. He’ll watch you sit there for hours without communicating anything to you. When you first get there he’ll bring you a piece of paper to sign without explaining anything Once you sign it, you’re stuck to paying whatever price they give you. Place is a total rip off in price. But they do it strategically. I wouldn’t go back unless I absolutely had to.

I took my car for diagnosis and repair at Greg’s in early October. I’m very happy with the service and work done with my car. Ryan kept me informed during the five days my car was in the shop. I’ve been taking my Mazda 5 to Greg’s in Covington for over 6 years. I’ve always had great service! They are prompt, explain all problems that they find, and I never feel pressured to purchase more repairs. In fact, they have been creative and helped figure out the less expensive option to fix my antenna. The business is clean, organized, and friendly. The waiting room is comfortable and a great place to rest my heels while waiting for my car.I’ve been a repeat customer for years and hope to be so for the life of my Mazda.

I would highly recommend Gregs Japanese Auto (as I have to all my friends and family). I have been a customer for many years. I only own Japanese cars so I can take them to my trusted Mechanic at Gregs. I love how friendly and knowledgeable the guys are there and the fact that they help me prioritize the repairs my car may need as well as all regularly needed maintenances. I love that I can drop off my car in the morning and get a shuttle ride to work and a ride back when the car is done.I have owned my 2004 Nissan Murrano for 7 years and they have helped me keep it running great. I love not having a car payment!

Gregs Japanese auto did exactly what they said theyd do and at the agreed upon price. No surprises there.Maybe I am being a bit picky but I was a little disappointed that my brand new radiator fins where bent up quite a bit by the mechanic . I know the radiator will still function fine with dinged up fins and that the mechanic is doing a difficult job in tight quarters in proximity of the radiator....but still.I did request beforehand that they try to respect my new radiator.Overall I would use this shop again because I think they are good mechanics and I think they are honest.

Theyve worked on my two cars for 10 years - Im always completely satisfied. Theyre very skilled, able to figure out tough problems, stand by their work. I had a new part (alternator?) go bad after about a year, they replaced it free. I had a separate problem with brakes that took several visits to figure out; they only charged the reasonable fee for the first visit. Gregs is a very honest and reputable place, thrilled to have all my work done there.

I wish I could take all of my vehicles to Gregs! Ive been coming to the Covington location pretty much since they opened with several vehicles, primarily Subarus. They have always been honest, friendly and helpful.I never feel like theyre trying to rip me off or try to charge for the same service twice (as has happened with a different type vehicle at a AAA top rated auto repair place).

I have been a long time customer of Greg’s Automotive, and have generally found them to be competitively priced and their work reliable. They have maintained 3 of our vehicles, performing everything from tune-ups to top end engine rebuilds.This time however, I was less than impressed with the treatment I received. I want to offer a warning to everyone to do their due diligence on knowing the replacement price of a major component before accepting Greg’s Automotive’s price and proceeding with the repair. Don’t assume it will be fairly priced, and less than what a Dealer would charge you for the same part.I needed a throttle body assembly and sensor for a 2003 Acura TL. Greg’s is conveniently located close to my home, so as usual I dropped the car off and waited for their estimate. Greg’s told me the cost of the OEM part was $900 and had to be ordered in. While that price gave me some sticker shock, I went ahead and authorized the repair as the car could not be driven without it, and past experience told me that Greg’s price was fair and lower than the dealer price for the same part.Before picking the car up, I decided to do what I should have done and called the Acura Dealer in Fife to check their price for the same OEM part. Their price was $680, not the $900 that Greg’s was charging me. Also the repair was estimated to take a minimal amount of time as the part is one singular body with no adjustment required, and easily accessible in the engine compartment. Greg’s Automotive charged me over $1200 for this repair, including $220 more for the same part. They had to know they were exorbitantly marking up a critical and necessary component, and thus had leverage over the customer. I even gave them the OEM part number and contact so they could verify this price difference. I told them that I thought the price differential of them being over $280 more than the Dealer was an excessive and unfair mark-up. Their reply was to say “well you authorized the repair, but we will give you a $90 adjustment off your bill”.I doubt I will ever go back to Greg’s after this, but I would encourage anyone who is considering a significant repair to check prices of the parts that Greg’s give you. In my case, had I not been so trusting based on past dealings, I could have had my car repaired, been given a loaner while the car was in the shop, and received back a washed, clean, and vacuumed car from the Acura Dealership for $300 less than what Greg’s Automotive charged me.Pete P.

My experience with this car repair place was very positive. The repair they had to do was going to take a few hours, so they had their courtesy shuttle take me back to my place, and then pick me up when the repair was done. With previous car repair places, I would have to catch a bus to get home, or wait in the waiting area.The cost of the repair bill was slightly higher compared to other places, but it was comparable. Most importantly I felt like they were being straight with me about what they were doing, and why they were doing it. Which made paying a little extra worth it.

Dont EVER go to Gregs Japanese Auto, they prey on unsuspecting and unknowlegable women. I took my car there for three reasons, one...because its close by my home, two... because I read the great review they had posted and most importantly of all three... because my oil light was on. After about an hour at the shop, I get a call from them saying the oil pressure is low, the hydraulic lifters were failing and they recommended a complete engine and assembly block replacement...thatll be $7,000 please. Which I wouldnt be able to afford even if I saved up my entire life. Part time minimum wage doesnt afford me the finer things in life like a new engine for my only 7 year old car. Way too new to need a new engine so soon. So I took it elsewhere for a second opinion and they said the oil valves were clogged and the hydraulics were fine. They cleaned out the valves and the oil light hasnt come on since. It runs like a champ now. So I would suggest you not take your vehicle here unless you have a small fortune to spend on it.

Excellent customer service from the start. Mike waited after closing time so I could drop off the car and he could pull it in for the night. Had a check engine light with billowing smoke out the tail pipe. turned out my turbo charger was blown. Due to the low-ish mileage, Ryan took upon himself to call a local Mazda dealer to see if it would be covered under the warranty and they said it would be if I had all the records. Ryan relayed the information to me and I had the car towed to the dealers where they confirmed Gregs diagnosis and the car is being repaired under the warranty. You cant ask for better service than that.

Use someone else! Crooks thieves and extremely unprofessional! No warranty given on the parts that they said they would warranty out they refuse to repair my car because with their unprofessionalism and unable to repair my car with the amount of money they charged me for I became very angry and they said I was no longer welcome at their shop anymore. I find it weird that they told me they had a charge more on top of my warranty for a repair that my car warranty should have covered completely considering it was a transmission repaired but yet they charge me an extra $800 on top of the warranty how does that work? Folks I would use someone else. My car runs far worse now than it did before I gave them my vehicle

My husband took my car there after two fail attemps of thinking it was an alternater problem. They charged us over $200.00 to say everything looked great and that it was the alternater. Got a third alternater still didnt work. Took it to another shop and they found out it was not the alternater. They fixed the problem at a fare priceWould not send anyone to this auto shop.Steve Williams with the Suzuki vitara is the make and person its been 2 weeks ago.

Car wouldnt start. I dropped my car off at night literally writing on a piece of paper for them not to do ANY testing or work until they gave me the costs on the phone. Anyways, the car started up in the morning without any services being done and they wanted to charge me $200 for literally doing nothing.

I had an absolutely wonderful experience with Gregs Japanese Auto in Covington/Kent!! I needed my clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder replaced as well as my check engine light diagnosed on my 05 Hyundai Elantra and was extremely pleased with the level of communication I received. The store manager, Ryan was who had been helping me out and he was so polite and clear about everything. He estimated that my car would be ready at 5 and it was ready at 4:30, nothing had been messed with in my car that you wouldnt expect (i.e. the seat). I doubt Ill ever go anywhere else from now on. The price was what I had been expecting it to be, so I was neither disappointed or surprised about it. Highly recommended!!

I brought in my 2005 Kia Spectra because it wouldnt start and the engine was making a terrible sound. They charged me 250$ just to diagnose the problem. They told me that the problem was my ring gear knocked my crank position sensor out of place and broke and thats why it wouldnt start. Then they tried to charge me 1200$ on top of the 250$ to fix it. I couldnt afford that so I just towed my Kia back to my house and tried to sell it as mechanics special. I posted it on Craigslist.The first guy who came to look at it brought a crank position sensor and we put it in and the ring gear didnt push on it at all. So he looks around and immediately points out to me the fact that theres metal shavings in my oil. Why wouldnt the expert mechanics at Gregs point this out to me? Because they knew that I didnt know a lot about cars and they thought they could sucker me out of my money. Gregs has lied to me and Im out 250$ because of it. Thankfully I didnt pay them to do the work they wanted to do because my car still wouldnt be running and Id be out 1200$.

I have been going to Gregs Japanese Auto in Covington for 3 years now and I could not be happier in how they have serviced my 2008 Honda Ridgeline. Their manager Andy has always delivered my car on time and has serviced all Honda maintenance requirements. He is knowledgeable and he will be more than happy to explain why he recommends certain service for your car. My Honda Ridgeline has 144,000 miles and has never had a mechanical problem yet.

We had a headlight go out and our 2012 Subaru is nerly impossible to do yourself. We decided that with all the effort and hassle to go to Greggs and they did it quickly and even changed other lights that were needing it. They were quick, efficient and friendly. I took my HONDA CRV in to have my airconditioning recharged today. Iam a elderly woman. I got a quote for $130.00 from their service manager. Basically knew how much it costs for this service because my son-in-law is in the automotive field. I agreed to their price knowing they were overcharging me. I talked to the manager about my right windshield wiper hitting the metal rim at the bottom of the windshield. He said he would look at it no charge. They told me they could not get to my car until around 5pm. I didnt look at the invoice when I signed it because we had agreed on the price of $130.00. They took me home. I got a call at 5:30pm on my voice mail asking my permission to keep my car over night because the technician had found a leak after putting the diagnostic machine on my airconditioner. I called them and said no and wanted to know why they were not finished when they only had to add freon too my airconditioner. I had my son-in-law take me there. When I got there the manager told me I had a leak and they had put the freon in and the pressure was low. My son-in-law said we didnt have a leak because he had just had the car revaced and diagnosed and it was fine! I went to pay and the manager said I owed $19200. I freaked out and said I didnt agree to that price and he said I signed for that price. He also said he went over the invoice with the itemized costs with me before I signed it. I went balistic and said I never wouldve agreed to that price and Im on a budget and I dont have that kind of money!!#. Only when he realized I wouldnt pay that price he charged me $130.00 plus $15.00 TAX. I WILL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN AND I RECOMMEND THAT NO ONE USE THEM.. I CANT BELIEVE HE HAD THE NERVE TO TRY AND CHEAT A OLD LADY!!!
