I came here in hope looking for a apartment. Even though I was unable to get one because my own personal reasons. Jennifer was so helpful, and nice. I would definitely rent from them in the future. The place is beautiful.
Moved in here over a month ago. The staff has been amazing and if I had any problems (which were small) there were addressed in less than a timely fashion. Reading some of these bad reviews I dont know what happened to them but I defiantly have not had any of those issues. Parking has been easy, the laundry situation with the app has made it very easy to do, its quiet as can be and I have an amazing view and have seen many of deer out my back door.
I very recently moved a family member into the apartments here. Everything from day one with the office staff has been wonderful! Jennifer and Lexi have been so friendly and extremely helpful! Apartment is older, but well maintained. The couple of maintenance issues we had at move in were addressed immediately! Maintenance staff was also very friendly and professional. Apartments are very quiet and feel quite safe. We are pleased so far with our choice!
I lived in this complex for 5 years and I ended up having to fix most problems myself. I spent the first year or so with no AC at all. After several calls to the office I was finally told at the end of the summer that my condenser would be replaced. Then I was told that it would take a week to install. At no point in this process were we offered a suplimental unit to keep the apartment cool. I am an HVAC technician and I can say that it definitely does not take a week to install one condenser even if you have to replace the furnace and line-set. After getting the AC replaced after months of $400+ electric bills and no compensation the heat didnt work. Someone was sent to look at the issue and he agreed that the issue was the thermostat. He told me that they dont replace thermostats and that I would have to call KCPL to have it fixed. I called KCPL and was told the maintenance team would have to send someone because it is the propertys responsibility. When I called the office again someone came by, didnt enter the apartment, and told me we have already been here for this and told you what needs to be done. We wont be working on it. So I replaced the thermostat myself and everything worked fine. When I moved out I left the old thermostat in the unit and removed the one I had to buy and install myself. I was then informed that I would be charged from our deposit for the thermostat being removed. I had to fix the stairs to my apartment several times a year because they never fixed them properly and the steps fell off regularly. After 3 years of using and paying for their set of two washers and two driers for a building of 20+ apartments they finally installed an exhaust line on the dryers and called it a renovation. When my hot water went out they sent someone to reset it and he said he tested the voltage to the elements and they are fine. The problem here is that you dont test heating elements for voltage to find if they are good or not, you text resistance. We continued to have only 3 minutes of hot water until we moved out. The office falsely filled out my reason for moving on my forms as covid-19 and I had to rewrite our real reason for leaving. We lived with a constant smell of weed from our downstairs neighbor for 3 years and in our last year having to live here my girlfriend was the victim of a hit and run by our next door neighbor.I understand that things can be difficult especially now days, but I work in apartment maintenance as well and the way this property handles maintenance and residents is horrible.
Imagine my surprise to see this complex is a thriving community and receiving positive and excellent reviews so many years after I was one of your first residents 30 years ago. I no longer live in the area, however, I fondly will always remember and consider Bicycle Club home. Seeing the pictures brings back so many memories. Glad to see you remain viable for future residents and their families.
This was my first apartment/complex, and I lived here for two years. I have had nothing short of an amazing experience with Bicycle Club. The only reason Im moving out is because Im moving in with my boyfriend who just bought a house. All my service requests were responded to within one business day, every single staff member i came in contact with was courteous and professional, I had an issue with another resident once and it was handled discreetly and quickly. Jennifer in the front office especially has gone out of her way multiple times to help me with various things. I seriously cannot say enough good things about this place.
My fiance & I have been here for about 5 years now & we absolutely love it! So close to everything you could need or want..location is amazing & the staff are great! The maintenance team takes care of everything from checking smoke detectors to shoveling & salting everyones stairs. We never have to worry about doing any of it, not even cleaning our fireplace! Theyve helped us out so much & replaced anything we have had any issues with. We highly recommend Bicycle Club!
I chose Bicycle Club mainly due to how I was initially received by the management staff and the fact that they are a *non smoking* property. The rent was very competitive and the selection of different types of units was impressive. There are two reasons why it was a no-brainer for me to renew my lease: 1. The management staff here is second to none. They treat me like Im their one and only client and remember my name. If I ever have a problem, it is resolved almost immediately. 2. The maintenance staff here do an excellent job of keeping the property looking great, as well as making sure everything works as its supposed to. There is never a day I dont see these guys somewhere on the property, doing some kind of improvement or making the place look great. They work very hard and are always friendly and professional.
I have lived here for 2 years and would live here even longer if the rent didnt go up every time we renewed our lease. My neighbors are quiet, I feel safe having packages left at my door when I am not home, and our parking situation is great. Whenever I have a maintenance issue, they are always at my apartment the next day to fix it and they leave a nice notes when they are done. Not a lot of aparments have real wood fireplaces so that is a big perk to us. Everyone that works at bicycle club is so friendly and they always put on cute events for the complex. If you are considering moving here, do it! You wont regret it!
DO NOT MOVE IN HERE! They are nice up front but once you move in it is problem after problem. This was the 2nd time I lived there and they have done nothing to upgrade any of the apartments except for installing fake wood linoleum that bubbled up. They charge you extra for these upgrades. My apartment smelled like smoke the entire time I lived there despite it being a non-smoking property. My apartment was dirty when I moved in and I had a leak in my ceiling that was never fixed. If you PAY for a carport the office will tell people that they can park there even though you pay for the spot. The manager will never call you back if you have an issue. I was told by a friend who knows the company that owns it to be careful at move out because they charge you for everything they possibly can. They charged me over $1000 to clean an apartment that wasnt clean when I moved in and they tried to charge me for replacing the carpet and cleaning the carpet that was replaced. AND they charged me for things outside the building that werent even mine, even after I told them the things were there when I moved in. Every time it rained I had to jump over a huge puddle to get out of the building and my back patio turned into a swamp. The leasing gal told me multiple times they would be putting in new landscaping and that didnt happen in the year I lived there. The washer and dryer rooms in my building were out of order 1/2 the time I lived there. They have gone down hill drastically since the first time I lived there. I am sure some people have a good experience but as a good resident who paid on time and only complained about someone being told it was okay to park in my spot they treated me awful after I put my notice in to move out. Rent an apartment here at your own risk.

Advertising $830 month ended up paying near double and scammed out of $1500 UPON LEAVING
We LOVE living here!! They have a fenced in Dog Park which my big half-pit loves to run around in. On that, they accept all breeds of dog!! (Not many places can say that). The pool is great in the summer and well maintained. There is a 24 hour gym in the clubhouse that has everything one would need to get a great workout. And thats just the amenities! Our apartment is wonderful! Before we moved in the complex put in new carpet and vinyl. Its spacious with a great view and excellent neighbors. But thats still not the best part...THE STAFF is the absolute best!! Its nice to go for a walk and see employees working with smiles on their faces all the time! They all know us by name and make a point to say good morning! or simply Hello! or give a wave as they drive by on their golf carts. The girls in the office are more than happy to help with anything we need and the maintenance guys are superb and very good at what at they do. I hear some of the newly renovated apartments just got tile backsplashes in the kitchens. One of the maintenance guys did them himself and showed me pictures. Very nice work!Overall, were going to be here a long time. Thats how much we love it! Seriously 10/10 we recommend! :)
I have lived at the club for seven months now. I like it a lot. The staff is nice. When I had issues, they took care of it in a timely manner which was really great. I wish they had washers and dryers in unit. That is my biggest issue but I might just be picky. I also have issues sometimes with parking, but thats not a big deal to me. Other than that, I love it. Its been a great first apartment for me straight out of college.
Moving in was seamless thanks to Jennifer, Katie and Mitzi. Youll not find a more professional, attentive, conscientious office staff. I love the french doors that open to a balcony surrounded by trees. The living room is spacious as well as the walk in/through closet. I have noticed a bit of a parking issue as mentioned in other reviews but have also noticed theres several ChargePoint charging stations available throughout the complex. There are numerous pet stations where pet waste bags and receptacles are supplied. The dog park has great equipment for obstacle training too. The swimming pool is refreshing and theres plenty of seating available with restrooms and a grilling area close by. I havent tried the gym equipment or the sand volleyball court but both appear to be really nice. Theres no washer or dryer in my unit but theres a laundry room in the building. The washer and dryers are app accessible too so no need to mess with quarters.
So far, this is a preliminary rating! I loved everything I saw and the staff are very friendly. Kate did an amazing job facilitating what I wanted and needed, and she covered all bases. The price is great, the location is awesome, and the size of the apartments are great for the price! Good job so far. I cant wait to live here!
I have lived here for 13 months. Any problem was taken care of. The staff are wonderful people. They are friendly and courteous. I am moving not because of the apartment or staff. Moving to be closer to kids.
I think the apartments are okay. They are pricey for how out dated they are. Apparently, there are updated units that are more expensive simply because you get black appliances and your dining room will have this fake wood flooring instead of carpet. I live in one of the basic units, so I will discuss this one. Basically my whole first year here any time it rained it flooded in front of my apartment(I live on the first floor) and came underneath the door and onto my carpet. I had to walk in dirty brown water or leap onto my doorstep just to get into my apartment. It took them a whole year to even get a new drainage system to fix the problem. The pool is also rarely clean during the summer and I have to clean it out myself before even getting in it. The gym is eh. The property manager, Misty, and Katie are nice. I do not like the new lady they have at the front desk. I feel as if she treats me slightly different than other tenants and for some reason I just do not like her. Also I dont like the older maintenance man at all. During the warmer months I take my dog to the park and sometimes my boyfriend comes with. We were at the park one day and decided to just goof around and we were sitting on the doggy seesaw thing and the older maintenance guy comes by and yells at us for being on it. He has done it a few times and each time with more attitude. He is straight up rude and annoying. He really needs to work on his customer service skills. Anyways maintenance as a whole is okay. Also they claim to have security patrolling nightly, but I rarely ever see the guy and I am a night owl so Im up basically all night. I also had this problem with someone putting screws in my tires for a while here, but that has nothing to do with the complex. I still have no idea who was doing it though. Overall my time here was okay. The neighbors are decent. My lease is up in May and I wont be renewing. Oh I forgot to add that the weather stripping in this apartment is God awful. I can literally feel cold air seeping into my apartment, which males my best constantly run during the winter and my air constantly run during the summer. My electric bill gets really high for such a small apartment.
The staff at this place is absolutely beautiful! I habe been looking and touring apartments every single day for weeks. I encountered all kinds of experiences. When I walked in to bicycle club I immediately knew I wanted to be there and no place else. I have never felt so much like family in such a short time. Warm and inviting. I cant say enough great things about it. I have been dealing mostly with Kate Jones however everyone there is phenomenal. I have a dog that is literally my whole world and the fact that they cater to your furr babies was a dream come true.
Great place to live! The management staff is very friendly and responsive to needs. Did a 3 month lease for a summer internship. The price was reasonable. Highly recommend!
The management staff are AMAZING! If you dont move here for the great apartments and the awesome amenities, move here for the staff-- I had to move to Overland Park for personal reasons and Kate Jones, the Asst. Property Manager at the Bicycle Club, still texts me to check up on me, gives me advice and helps me out whenever I need it. If that isnt a wonderful, dedicated and kind person, I dont know what is! Move to Bicycle Club to meet her!
It’s cool, but sometimes you can’t pick your neighbors. Some people I think live here under a housing voucher because I never see them go to work. Those are the ones that are the most noisy, smoke and stink up the area and makes the stay at home not so enjoyable after a long day of work. I’ll be looking for something more private in the future...just passing thru.
I moved into these apartments in June. When i called the office to ask about a one bedroom apartment, Jennifer was so nice and upbeat to tell me about the apartments and how much they ran for. I came in and talked to her and she was so nice to show me around and broke everything down for me to better understand. This being my first apartment, it was such a breeze! Applying, signing the lease, and moving in. The office staff are super nice, the maintenance have responded quickly to my needs, and the atmosphere itself meets my expectations. I have not had any problems with parking in my complex. At night though, it can be over crowded with cars parking on the streets. My apartment complex is very quiet. I dont hear a peep from my neighbors. They all seem nice and we all stay to ourselves. The pool area is beautiful. I love the grilling area as well as the shaded area inside the gate of the pool. The dog park is really cool for the dogs to run some energy out. I have not tried out the volleyball court yet but from the looks of it, it looks very well kept clean. I think that the only things that stinks about this apartment is that the appliances in the apartments are kind of old. First, doing laundry in the complex kind of sucks too. But i have never had any issues with anyone in the complex over doing laundry. It seems to be empty everytime I use it. The app to do laundry is pretty cool. To just add money onto the app and it also lets you know when your laundry is done. The second thing that is a bummer is that my water pressure in the bathroom and the shower could be a little stronger but that is about it. Third, I do see some bugs (spiders mainly) that come crawling in to my apartment. I think it is because of the area that the apartments are in. There is alot of trees so I just kill them when I see them. I would highly recommend these apartments for anyone that is looking for their first apartment. I was really nervous moving in by myself but the price is decent and overall the entire complex is very nice and meets my needs.
The nicest thing about the complex was the fact that they take packages in the office. The first red flag is parking. If you do manage to find a park, you then have to make sure you dont step in dog poop or pet hairballs hidden in grass. The rent is scaled which wasnt a problem until I went out of town for two weeks and somehow it went up. Somehow without using any water for two straight weeks my rent STILL went up. As if that wasnt enough, our neighbors smoked so much weed that I could smell it in my five year olds room. Told office personnel and nothing was ever done. But ironically, I saw them tag my neighbors car for towing after a month of expiration. She was elderly and living on a fixed income. All in all, dont do it. This place is a joke for the amount you pay in rent. Save your hard earned money and live somewhere better.
Ive been a resident at the b.club almost 3 years..staff very friendly..maintance always prompt.. The only bad thing I could say is appliances dated..parking not so good.. But great place to live at a decent price...
Worst apartment complex I have ever lived in. Lived here for two years and called over 5 times about my a/c unit being too loud and always freezing up. I was told when they finally did come look at it that it was meant for a one bedroom apartment not a two bedroom. My electric bill was through the roof, and the apartment weather stripping was horrible constant breeze in my place still no fix. Also the staff I found was rude and disrespectful at times and only cared about money and not my satisfaction and comfort in the complex. Outdated appliances, bad staff, horrible parking, and bad pricing. Dont renew your lease, they Jack up the price the second time. Id give this place no stars if I could.
Only problem is the parking. Everything else is great, everyone is so nice, and they do community events which is really great.
We have lived here for nearly 2 years and we love it here. We were actually thinking of leaving when our lease is up but the Pros of living here out weighed the Cons. We are minutes away from Zona Rosa and also our favorite trail. Its quiet... Management are friendly. Maintenance always come within a day of me calling. We have NEVER had any issues. You really cant beat the prices anywhere else. The only downfall are people not picking up after their pets.
Great place to live. They get things fixed quickly. Friendly helpful staff. Only downfall is parking.
Great property, great location. Staff and maintenance are nice and always get the job done. Only issue is parking, but its worth it for the size and price!
I currently live at the Bicycle Club Apartments in northern Kansas City Missouri, and with no exaggeration this has been the most exhausting nightmarish place I have ever lived. I’m writing reviews to warn good people about this location and how they treat there residents. I can no longer use my bedroom because the office had a security light bigger than street lights installed less than a foot away from my bedroom window, It is so light at night in there that I literally have to sleep on my Livingroom floor on a makeshift bed to be able to get some sleep, there was no light like this before and they are unwilling to do a thing to help with the situation, or to provide me a little relief at night. After you sign a contract you are at their every whim and believe me it can be hard to adjust to their constant changes and construction. I have no privacy, there is noise and construction constantly, and now I cannot sleep in my own bed. I have lived at many different apartment complexes around Kansas City and have never experienced this type of treatment, please heed my warning and look else ware for a home, so many places are so much more comfortable to live.
Apparently this complex thinks its acceptable to rack up an electric bill in a prior tenants name because that person forgot to have it shut off. Then proceed to cuss at said former tenant and call them lazy and irresponsible for forgetting. Then say its perfectly acceptable for theme to basically steal money from a tenant who forgot. Zero stars if I could. Please work on your customer service skills.
I lived here from sept 2017 to sept 2018 and over all I loved it here. My apartment was beautiful very reasonably priced. Ive really considered moving back but theres 2 things that prevented me from renewing my lease. 1: Brown recluse spiders. They started showing up the last 4 months of my lease. My building seemed to be infested with them.(i was on the top floor of building 2, the yellow building by the mailbox) Wed see several every day. They do spray for bugs but It didnt seem to be enough and I am very afraid of spiders. 2: and way less serious is that the laundry units are pretty gross. They were often broken and when you washed your clothes in them they actually made your clothes smell worse. Very moldy and mildewy. I had to do my laundry somewhere else the entire time I lived there.Overall I did love living here. I adored the ladies in the office and maintenice was always amazing. The location is great and they are very affordable. If those problems where fixed this place would be great.
Katie was nice. The holding company that owns the property was not. I had a lot of problems with our upstairs neighbors who were excessively noisy, left their cat box on the patio for poop to fall onto our patio, and smoked enough weed you could smell it through the walls. Nothing was done for months despite submitting reasonable instances of neighbor abuse. We had issues with our hot water heater failing, maintenance was unable to fix it for about four weeks. They only offered a shrug in response. Maxus, the holding company, was extremely rude when I tried to speak with them regarding charges they applied when moving out. Not recommended if you value being respected to any sort of measurable level.
Will never rent here again. The maintenance staff clears out your requests WITHOUT solving the problem, and the office ladies only promise to talk to them. Also, dont be fooled by the pest charge on your monthly bill... I still had cockroaches in my apartment and they didnt care!I wish I wouldve read all the reviews before signing the lease!
Beautiful property! The staff are very professional and also very friendly. This is one of the greatest places to live in the Kansas City Metro Area!!
The best place to live, close to everything, and quietly tucked away right off Barry road. Excellent staff and prompt maintenance team, I love living here!
My family has lived at the Bicycle Club for almost a year now. We have had many problems not only with things in the apartment but with staff. We have tried to contact the office for multiple reasons such as, problems with kitchen appliances breaking or going out, using the website to pay rent, maintenance being done on the property without any notice and the swimming pool being utterly disgusting! If we call to the office they will not answer their phone. We will call 4 or 5 times, wait a few hours and call again. You have to leave a message and they will get back with you. Most of the time it will take a day or two. But, you get what you pay for.
I love the complex! Very nice and the staff couldnt be more helpful!
The property is beautiful. My dog loves the dog park.
Only been here alil over a month but its been soo great! i love it!
Best apartment community i have ever lived at.
Clean propetry, staff are very nice! Location Is fantastic! The area Is really growing with a menards being built down the road and if you havent heard, costco also owns some land down by 152 and will be building soon. Maintence Is always quick to respond, I wish laundry was cheaper, at 3 dollars a load..
Apartments look nothing like demo apt. kinda felt scammed into a lease
Been a great home.
Not a safe place to live.
Customer service skills suck
