Weve currently been at the complex for two years now. Our experience while staying at Applewood has been pleasant. Obviously things have changed since the pandemic and the management staff has done a tremendous job at adjusting and adapting to the situation they have done a phenomenal job staying on top of everything as best as they can.The pandemic has made it a tad bit more difficult to get into contact with the front office physically. However the front office has been very prompt in communicating virtually and getting service request handle in a timely manner.Even as the pandemic has affected individuals here financially the leasing staff especially Dawn has been such a blessing and wonderful help. Shes more than a property manager that seeks to take care and assist the residents by providing helpful information and resources to get caught up and get the assistance needed.In my two years before the pandemic struct and even during it has been a pleasurable experience. I recommend Applewood to anyone looking to potentially call it home. This has been a wonderful experience and if you get the chance to work with Dawn she is an absolutely wonderful and truly makes you feel comfortable in your decision making process.10/10 would recommend

The managers at the property are very helpful and pleasant! I’ve lived here for the past year. Selene always acknowledged my requests within a business day. When I needed it, maintenance was always out the next day or two. It’s not perfect by any means but I’ve seen the buildings improve over the last year and Overall it’s a good property, and I had a good experience here! Only reason I’m leaving is to find different amenities, just a personal preference.

Being a retired Property Manager with tax credit experience also a Property Manager with the Kansas City Kansas Public Housing Authority I can say that the Applewood Apartments management team is very professional and pleasant to the residences, the maintenance staff is always prompt. Selena shes THAT,!!! Manager shes wonderful I mean great at what she does, Ive been a resident now for 1 year and I love my apartment very cozy I really appreciate that they accepted me as a resident I would recommend Applewood to anyone looking for one or two bedroom unit

We moved in to these apartments sight unseen from California. I must admit that I cried a lot that day in 2011, as the drawers in the kitchen were made of plastic and didnt close properly. 8 years is a long time to be in an apartment - we went through multiple managers and a change in ownership. We had a hot water heater explode and flood our apartment. We didnt get new carpet - they just replaced the pad and dried it out. By the time we left, mold was starting to creep up the wall from the corner most affected by the water. Maintenance was usually quick, but from time to time there were some questionable repairs. We were on the bottom floor, and as the hill we were on eroded, the foundation started cracking. At one point, they had to replace the dining room window pane because it broke due to settling. The kitchen was always at a slant due to foundation issues, and by the time we left, we could feel a place in the living room that was slanted as well. We had some people living above us that would work out in the living room. When that happened, our ceiling would bow and bounce with them. It was scary. We had lots of issues with the tub upstairs and plumbing dripping down into our bathroom. The floors and walls are pretty thin, and you can hear the people above you. Weve also had heavy smokers above us, and it seeped into our apartment, so it smelled like we were smoking. Some residents dont pick up after their dogs, and toss cigarette butts where ever they want. Weve had license plates stolen, and a car broken into. Like I said, we were there 8 years. I just received our final bill, and it is astronomical based on what it should be, considering they are going to renovate and gut the apartment. I have a call into their office now to see what all they are charging for. I will edit this review after I hear back from them.

I lived here for a year and it was overall a very nice experience. The staff was very nice and helpful. The newly renovated apartment was also very nice but the furnace was extremely loud. About as loud as a small lawn mower when it started up but I got used to this pretty quickly. The dog park entrance could also use a little bit of work because of how muddy it would get in the wet weather. It was pretty quiet but it seemed like the complex across the street had a lot of crime/drama/law enforcement calls. I would recommend this complex to my friends and family.

I only stopped by to visit a friend, but the people and the apartment itself was terrific. Cant wait to see himself grow.

We really like the new lady in the office/manager. We had a maintenance issue and she called us and had it taken care of right away and was very professional. The apartments themselves are nice for their age. They are making lots of improvements

These apartments are stuck in the early 70s and no updates have been done. The windows are not insulated, therefore cold air pours in during the winter. Very limited parking. They tow cars for no reason. We had no bugs, but tons of spiders - including brown recluse. The walls and ceilings are paper thin, so just hope you dont live beneath a heavy walker or beside someone with a 2 year old whos only method of communication is screaming. You share one hot water heater with two other apartments (above and below) so there is rarely 5 minutes of hot water for a shower. The management can be very friendly to your face, but dont turn your back. The repair guys were the best thing about the whole experience. 2 years was 2 years too much here. Sure, they are the cheapest in town ~ and there are plenty of reasons why.

Ive lived here for almost 4 years unfortunately. I thought this new management company would be on top of things but I guess itll never change. Dont waste your money or time and rent elsewhere.

Ive been a resident here since Dec, 2018. The property is old, but the updates make it quite current with newer properties in the area.The staff - Selena - is amazing. She has always been extremely friendly, knowledgable, and thorough in her job.Ive had occassion to call for maintenance once, since living here. I awoke at 1am, with no heat. Within 20min, they were there, and my heat was back on.I would recommend this property to anyone looking for an affordable, nice place to live, in the Northland.

In building laundry cost more than if I were to have all my laundry dry cleaned. Dryer would NEVER dry my clothes.

Very low rent and very dumpy

Ive had a good experience for the most part. I like most of my neighbors and try to be a good tenant, sometimes walking the grounds and picking up trash. But there have been pool issues and Ive had 2 bikes stolen. One was taken due to the fact the a maintenance man moved it beside the dumpster. It wasnt in the way and had not been there for even 24 hours. Grills are allowed to be left out, so I would have hoped the management would have at least attempted to find the bike owner.So to my surprise the manager took $50 off my rent for one of my stolen bikes! Since I didnt expect anything to be done, I was happily surprised.Now the other problem is for us residents who are barely making it by, the dropbox for rent checks has been removed. I didnt realize until I went to drop off my check at 11:59pm on the 5th ☺️. I was able to slip my check under the door and it was deposited, only to come back to a note requesting the $50 late fee. Come on Applewood! You guys have all been pretty awesome, with kind, fun neighbors, please dont make me leave this wonderful community with bad feelings!!😊Thank you!!

I have never had any problems at any other place I have lived in, this place was so bad I moved after only living here for 5 months. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE. The management is TERRIBLE and there are certain tenants that all hang out and talk together and file FALSE complaints against the people they want gone. The tenants here are racially biased and I cannot wait to move. Ive had complaints filed about my dogs saying they were running around off a leash on days that I was NOT home and I have had MANY complaints from Three different people (the ones that complain until you leave) that I am not picking up my dogs waste, when I am. I have been taking logs about what my dogs do when they do it ect; and its STILL not good enough for these liars. The management is rude, NEVER return your calls on time and I have put in multiple requests to have items fixed around the apartment and they dont get fixed for about two weeks. I have had the WORST experience EVER with this place. My apartment has bugs coming in from outside my patio doors and windows are not sealed properly I come home to bugs and slugs and spiders all over my apartment complex. The water heaters work and get the water hot, but you have to let the water run for about 30 minutes before hand otherwise your water is ice cold. Please dont waste your time here, I was so excited to live in this location but these people are the worst, the type of tenants they keep there are the worst kind of people.

The apartments themselves look nice, but in reality things are ducktaped together, and your bathtub will start chipping apart about a week after living there. Salene in the leasing office is SUPER nice, shes probably the best thing about the property.

New management seems to be on top of things we were here before they took over. Great location and large apartments

Been dealing with a bug problem for a year now, that we have not had for the previous 3 years we lived here. The issue has yet to be resolved despite having pest control come out every single month and treat the apartment. Would NOT recommend.

Place is great maintenance workers do good job and dont take too long. Pool and apartment is cool.

I came to look at an apartment and the leasing worker was very nice and informative. I havent rented yet but i was very impresed with the staff and new updated apartments

This place has a nice landlord she has been helpful with everything. She even showed the same apartment to me twice so I could show my oldest child.

Lots of drugs. Not a good deal. Better prices, both rental units and narcotics, found elsewhere.

Slow to respond. Current landlord (Candy) is kind of douchey and unpleasant when trying to leave. Tried to make us pay for stains we mentioned when we first moved in, despite us reporting them within the first week. Added a bunch of fees when leaving.That said, it was fairly cheap, so I guess you get what you pay for.

This place is horrible. I just moved out. They try to charge you for normal wear and tear. They switched managers 4 times and i was only there for a year. They show you this fixed up model apartment, but the apartment you receive doesnt look anything like it.

Lot of memories from that place. Both good and bad

They refused to do maintenance on the ac systme and ruined my daughters shoes with mold.

Saline is sooo kind!
