Bree was awesome. Every time I go in there to get my hair cut and beard trim, she is always very pleasant and attentative. She makes sure you get what you want out of your haircut and beard trim experience. Would definitely recommend going and seeing her for your haircut and/or beard trim needs.

Finally a place that does clean & consistently good work. I’ve been looking for a place I can walk in, see my barber & tell them “the usual”. The Southside location has me regularly coming back & setting up appointment to have my hair cut properly!

Absolutely the best haircut Ive gotten in a very long time and did a trim on my beard and mustache. Bree was very professional and great attitude. The place was nice and great atmosphere. Had great music but was a little low on the volume. My only gripe is the price but its one of them you pay for what you get, you aint gonna get the same service for the a cheaper price. Overall great experience

My 1st cut was terrible and they scheduled me for a 2nd cut after I told them not to. Today I received a 12.50 charge to my card because I didnt show up to an appointment I told them not to schedule. I will never use these people again and you shouldnt either. Poor quality and unprofessional to say the least.

Best beard trim I’ve ever received, Jess used a hot towel and hot lather with a straight razor shave that had my line up perfectly placed. Haircut was quick and efficient! Supplied me with the products I didn’t even know I needed till she explained exactly how to take proper care of my skin and hair. Highly recommend House of Shaves to everyone!

The shop was nice, very trendy. The folks working there were very friendly. The haircut I got was good. My beard trim experience left a lot to be desired. No straight razor, no hot towel(I dont much care for the towel anyway, but it was never offered). Perhaps the other barbers there offer the full service and dont let their customers leave looking homeless. Haircut - pleased, beard trim - very disappointed.

I had to get a quick haircut. I found this place on Google and I have to say, I am extremely impressed. I booked my cut online and it was extremely easy. The price is great and the staff is AMAZING! I lucked out by finding this place because I will be back, FOREVER! I couldnt believe how friendly the staff was. I forgot the name of the young lady that cut my hair, but she broke down every thing she was going to do. She explained what certain cuts would look like. She did an amazing job. I honest to God am not going anywhere else. THANK YOU GUYS FOR THE AMAZING CUT! It was quick and it went smooth.

The barbers where very tentative to greetings me and my son. The barber who cut my sons hair was very professional and great with cutting his hair. The barber who cut my hair was very intuitive and knowledgeable while cutting my hair and trimming my beard. They both took great pride in the haircuts that they gave to me and my son. No impressed at all. My husbands barber was clearly in a hurry to leave. Before we even left the parking lot the barber went flying by us. My husband left with one side of his beard longer than the other and a patch missing in the middle. We will definitely not be returning.

Don’t go here. The owner cut my sons hair and did a terrible job. They only have one barber and he does NOT know what what he’s doing. Terrible service. It took me forever to get an appt because even though they advertise 7 days a week they are only open Tuesday through Saturday. I kept getting my appointment cancelled because on more than one occasion the barber quit the day I was scheduled. This shop is unbelievably unorganized.I am sure. This was my first time bringing my son to this shop since moving to Jacksonville 3 months ago. And I have never gotten my hair cut by anyone named Lauren.

I have been coming to House of Shaves for a while now. My stylist is Bryan. He is the best!. It took me a while, and a few bad hair cuts, after moving to Jacksonville, before I found Bryan. I cannot recommend him enough. Always on time, very kind, and gives the best cut ever. Do your self a favor and schedule an appointment today.

Pros:- Great location- Good lighting and layout- Feels like a nice high end barbershop- Could be a great barbershopCons:- This location must be doing something wrong because they have lost A LOT of their best barbers over the last few months.- Be careful if booking for the first time. You may get a barber with LITTLE OR NO EXPERIENCE and still pay full price!I recently had a terrible experience and have no plan to come back.- Recently made an appointment a full week in advance for any barber that was available since I trusted that any barber could do a basic fade haircut. I made the appointment for my 1hr lunch break.- When I arrived on time for my appointment the barber I was assigned was still cutting someone else’s hair and I had to wait over 20mins. The fade haircut appointments are $35 and are only supposed to last 35mins.- I showed my barber two photos of my last haircut and asked for the same fade cut.- I’ve used this same photo of me for every haircut the last several years and NEVER had a problem. An experienced barber just quickly looks at the photo and makes it happen easily.- This barber didn’t seem to have ANY idea how to do this cut and asked a ton of questions about it.- longe story short. The barber was clearly new and had what felt like zero experience whatsoever. They had to ask for help over five times and the haircut turned out terrible!- I had to constantly point out different parts of the haircut that were blandly obvious and not even or faded whatsoever. I’ve never had to do this before.- Finally the other barber stepped in and tried to salvage the haircut and said they wouldn’t charge me for it after all.- This was an incredibly frustrating experience that took OVER 1.5hrs! I was nearly and hour late to work coming back from my lunch break and had a terrible haircut that I’ll have to go somewhere else to fix.- Don’t recommend going here unless they raise their standards or at least disclose ahead of time if you’d like a new inexperienced barber to practice on your hair for 1.5hrs with the expectation that you’ll still pay full price.

My barber was Brian and he did a great job. I was changing my hair style and grew a beard for the first time in my life. He talked me through products, styles, etc.... Great experience. Also, they have straight razor services for affordable prices, which is hard to find.

I went to house of shaves.....6 barbers,theyve been open for an hour....1 customer....5 of them said do you have an appointment? I said no sorry, they all said oh Im booked and went back to watching tv. Said come back later in the day. Like Im a paying customer! Never again

I went to House of Shaves in Riverside, Jacksonville for the very first time around one month ago. Turned out to be a great choice! Emily gave me a perfect haircut with skin fade and she cared about every single detail. After one year I have finally found my my trustworthy hair salon!:)

Management is a joke. I watched several people before me come in with appointments only to get some excuse that their barber was late or something. But in reality, they recently lost most if not all of their good barbers. Yeah, the current staff is a joke. Extra pushy on products that isn’t worth the value.I’ll definitely be following where most of their previous barbers are at now.

Alex gave me a great haircut, And a very nice beard trim complete with the hot towel and razor finish. Very satisfied. Every since I moved to Florida a couple years ago I’ve been going to the shop on Southside. Bryan cuts my hair and does an amazing job at it. Along with his service, he is friendly and relatable when we converse. No other person in Florida will cut my hair as long as he is able to do it for me.

Last week, I attempted to do a walk-in haircut. A lady with blue hair just kept sitting behind the desk and refusing to cut my hair because she didnt feel it so I preceded to waited for 30 minutes. At which point, I just simply left. I was referred by a friend to this establishment. What a let down.

Ive been going to House of Shaves since moving to FL a few years ago. Just went to the new downtown location today. World class experience and a great cut as always. I HIGHLY recommend House of Shaves!

Earlier today I went in for a beard line up. I did not have an appointment and was taken in after about 5 minutes. I asked for my beard to be lined up. One side was taller than the other. I then pointed it out to my barber and she over corrected it. Then it was uneven and the other side had to be corrected. by that point my beard was no longer how I wanted it and I said just take off the beard I then received the hot towel and straight razor shave. once that was over I looked at my self in the mirror and was bleeding from 4 different spots and had numerous bumps. My neck still had plenty of hair on it and uneven areas. under my side burns had plenty of hair and so did my cheeks. I am not angry at the barber for doing a terrible job, I am disappointed in the shop. The shop has over 400 positive reviews and looked very nice on the inside. I do not plan on ever returning to this shop. When I got home the first thing I did was shave myself again to do what my barber could not. I would not recommend this place to anyone. I felt like I flushed 25$ down the toilet.

I’ve had my hair cut by both Andrea and Elisa, and both are amazing barbers! I feel comfortable each time I walk in and they are always sure to ask questions to figure out what I actually want. The establishment looks cool, and is clean. They are also good at wiping down and following COVID guidelines with masks and all. I would recommend this place (and especially Elisa and Andrea) to anyone who would like a quality haircut and experience!

Ive been a regular for close to a year now and can easily say house of shaves is above the rest due to their consistency.From my experience most shops give you that great quality service when they know its your first time in order to win your business, after some time that quality service will diminish. After almost a year of returning every 3 weeks i can confidently recommend this place knowing that you will Get that same treatment every time. The staff was very welcoming and courteous, but I felt the haircut was poorly executed. I provided a picture of a simple side-part I received in the past, but the barber cut it much too short and the part line was clearly off.

When I asked her to take a little off the top she took more than I expected, but it was needed and it turned out great! Its nice that you can schedule appointments on-line. Only reason they are getting two stars is because they actually cut my hair well. Heres the catch, whoever my barber was didnt clean his tools enough, I contracted ringworm and Folliculitis. I called to talk to the manager, although they gave me a refund they word for word said Im sorry that happened to you, but you know it happens. They also said they will get on top of it and make sure it doesnt happen again. Altogether I spent 80$ on antibiotics and they just flat out dont care. Thanks House of Shave!!!

Such a cute little place! Super clean and everyone wears a mask which is nice in the world of Rona. Andrea is so sweet and such a good barber. My hair has never looked more crisp. Cant recommend this place enough!

Ive been going here for a few months now and have always used Lauren she does an amazing job always attenful and polite, professional, just cant say enough good about out her or this company she pays extra attention when she does the beard triming always comes out looking clean.

Definitely a good place to get a haircut. Quite a competent team of hairstylists. I appreciate the detail and level of attention that they take in their craft. Another advantage is they also offer some stylists who can provide services in less time with very similar results if speed is required. I had expected more of the atmosphere and exclusivity from the website, but inside it looks much like any other chain haircut place. That being said, they offer a high quality product at a very competitive price, with caring and attentive staff. Absolutely worth checking out and coming back.

Let me been start by saying that I love this place and the people who work here. Alex and Buster are great and never gave me a bad service. With that said, Ive been coming here for over a year and couldnt book an appointment online. I tried to walk in twice and was turned away both times. I work crazy hours and never know when I will be able to make it to this shop because its 45 min from my house. I didnt even request a specific barber, only wanted a hair and beard trim. I understand you need to book appointments, but maybe have 1 to 2 barbers who are on call for your walk-ins? I love this place, but I cant wait days on weeks for a trim and my schedule doesnt allow me to stick to a tight appointment days out. I need the convenience of being able to walk in. If Im willing to wait, they should be willing to see me.
