Love it here. Sam and Sarah are great and always so helpful. The residences are friendly and it is always quiet. The location is so convenient as well with a Target and a Costco within walking distance. But what sets this place apart from all the other apartments Ive been is definitely the staff. They are FANTASTIC!
I love living at 5 Thousand Town apartments! I’ve lived here for 1.5 years. It is in a great location - right in St John’s Town Center - and has a luxury resort style feel. The community has fantastic amenities including pool area with lots of chairs and cabanas and a hot tub, dog park, on-site car wash and pet spa and rooftop lounge. There are also garages available to rent, balconies in many units (I have two!) and my favorite - super great service, both from the leasing team and the maintenance team. It has been stress-free to have same day resolution of any issues that come up. If you’re interested in community, they also host meet and greets, and all sorts of other events throughout the year. Great place to call home.
Ive been a resident of 5 Thousand Town for nearly a year and just renewed my lease. Everything about 5 Thousand Town is great. The apartments are beautifully appointed. The building is cement so the rooms are super quiet. Residents are very friendly and polite. Pool, hot tub and other amenities are first rate. Above all though is the management staff. Sam in particular has been super helpful.
Great place to live. Quiet, clean and private. Staff is amazing and goes out of their way to accommodate you and your needs. Convenient to shopping, great restaurants and highways. Rooftop deck is a great place to unwind. Highly recommended.
We’ve been apartment dwellers for about 15 years, and rarely are we inclined to write a review, but, in regards to 5 Thousand Town, we just feel obligated to praise those working members of the community. This community of course offers many amenities similar to those of others in Jacksonville, but they are more well thought out. The pool is saltwater, the gym is just as good as any membership gym, and the complex offers many perks such as a music room, club room, and rooftop lounge/deck.These have been amazing perks, but what really makes the community work, are its hardworking and professional staff. There is no question that Sam and Sarah strive to make living here pleasant and flawless. They were not only professional in making our transition into the community exemplary, but they have both been remarkable in serving our needs thereafter, and ensuring our continued lifestyle. They both do it in their own wonderful way, Sam with her outward and openhearted gusto, and Sarah in her reserved and endearing poise. We also want to give a shoutout to the maintenance staff, Steve and Nusret, who came and made those adjustments typically called for in a new move. Not only did they respond in a timely manner, but the efficiency of their work, accompanied by their pleasant attitudes, is truly appreciated and made us feel right at home.Heather, we also want to welcome you to the community. Your desire and zeal to maintain 5 Thousand Town’s wonderful feel can’t be mistaken, and were sure your addition to this community will further enhance its outstanding quality.Thank you all, for making us feel comfortable and welcome in our new home.
We lived here while our new home was being built. We love it here at 5TT. All of the staff, are very helpful, responsive, friendly, and courteous. Chris, Brenda, and Sam in the office follow through on everything! Steve, one of the repair techs on the property responds within hours usually to fix minor repairs. Love the workout area, the common areas, and the roof top hang out area. The hallways are quiet as well. Built right on the edge of St. Johns Town Center makes it very convenient for several great restaurants and shopping! 5 + stars for sure!
Sam has been AMAZING!!! We were worried at first because we were moving from out of state but she made it such a great transition. She helps us whenever we needed. She was a bit busy sometimes but then they made a great hire in Sarah and now the staff is a dream team.
After being a resident for over a year, I’ve really loved everything about living here and I had no reservations about extending my lease. When looking for other places in the area, there honestly wasn’t anything comparable given the available shopping/restaurants, pool, rooftop, gym, and solid construction. The staff and community are great. Highly recommend!
We love living at 5 thousand town and want to say thank you so much to Samantha for always helping me with my mail and for been very efficient. Everyone is great here and we just love it and will definitely recommend it.
5TT has officially ruined other apartments for me. The building is beautiful, the apartments are spacious and well designed, and the amenities are clean and frequently maintained. The gym has just about anything you could want to use, the pool is large and relaxing, and the rooftop view is gorgeous. I absolutely love it here for those reasons, but also because the staff is wonderful. Sam and Chris are so responsive and always willing to help, and they always have smiles on their faces. I dont think I can ever live anywhere else!
Sam and Sarah are always so warm & inviting. There high energy, is contagious! They always take care of my issues quickly. I love living at 5TT.
Love living at 5 thousand town. We have lived here for 2 years and will continue to rent until we find our first home. Excellent location, great amenities and awesome staff! Shoutout to Sam and Heather!! :)
No regrets moving here. Great staff, Sam has been great, the maintenance staff has been responsive when required. The amenities are more than adequate.
Household items quality is average, maintenance response is average to good. Staff is always friendly and responsive, manger not so much. I lived there for 4 years, treated the place just like my own home, always clean and organized. Reported every issue to be fixed. Before leaving and moving to a new state, I talked to Brenda the manger and made sure I did everything right, cleaned the apartment as requested. Later on I received a statement that indicated cleaning fee $75 and additional $100 and I learned that my security deposit of $500 was kept as they needed to paint the ceiling and that costed $600 and for some reason it was on me! They saw a few spots on the ceiling in the living room that I did not see, and they did not know what caused it but the easiest way to deal with it is pain the ceiling and make me pay for the cost. I contacted Brenda multiple times explaining that it was not fair to hold me responsible for the ceiling problem which could be a leak from the apartment above vs mildew growth however she ignored my comments/ emails and never returned my calls. You will never know who the higher level is to contact because they keep the communication in circles and never transfer you or provide you with contact info.So be prepared that security deposit will not be returned to you, they will always find an excuse to keep it. And be careful especially if you have respiratory problem like asthma as the building could be full of mildew that will show signs overtime and rather than finding solutions they will cover it up!
We love living here. The rooms are beautiful just as the lobby is. The area itself is full of life, safe, and not too far from our jobs. Our cats like it herd too and they havent been happy with apartment living in the past. There is plenty of room. We hope to stay longer!
Very disappointed to see that management did not acknowledge the 4th of July in any way. No Red, white and blue...nothing. The people I visited told me management was happy to give away rainbow cookies in celebration of pride month...Management has their priorities backwards. Shame on you Arium/5 Thousand, 0/5 stars...does not recommend.
I have lived at 5000 town for over a year and I have been more than pleased with my experience. I was worried moving here initially because I have never lived in an apartment before and I was worried about the change, but I was delightfully surprised once we got settled in. Now I consider the folks that work at 5000 town family and I am very happy that I chose to live here. It is a unique and wonderful community.
There for a meeting, but beautiful view and super convenient location plus roof access. Pool tables pool tvs for the common areas and gracious parking spots.
The new Staff is fantastic
The manager there, Brenda, is amazing. Steve, maintenance, is great too. I’d recommend living here. You won’t be disappointed.
The five stars are for the excellent customer service we have received from Chris, Brianna, and Steve.Moved to Jax for a job, and immediately fell in love with St. Johns area. The 5 Thousand Building is in the ideal location, as it is close to literally everything. Not to mention how beautiful the units are, as well as amenities.Again, I cannot emphasize enough how grateful I am for Chris, Brianna, and Steve. They have made living at 5 Thousand a wonderful experience, and deserve recognition for their amazing dedication. Also, a huge shout out to all the maintenance men as they likewise go above and beyond.
I will be renting here! From the beginning, the leasing staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I am locating to Jacksonville and I couldnt thank the staff enough for giving me pointers about this city! At the end of my tour I met Brenda and Steve who seem to have been there since the beginning and they were very warm and polite. The property was beautifully manicured and the amenities were very up to date and in great condition! I cant wait to move in here!
I have lived here for 2 years and i love it. Steve and maintenance are top notch. Brenda, Christopher, and Brianna are delightful people and always have time to listen to me.
If you’re looking for a place to call home this is it! The staff here is extremely friendly and wonderfully welcoming I toured at multiple complexes and this one had me sold, don’t waste time going around and negotiating for squeaky pipe apartment complexes when you can live in luxury for the right price!
I highly highly recommend checking this place out! You wont be disappointed! It is so nice and the staff is extremely courteous and professional!
Since moving to 5 Thousand Town in Nov we have found this location and its staff to be a place I proudly now call home. The facility is kept in a very clean and welcoming condition. The amenities are second to none. (this was our deciding factor to picking this complex) Our interaction with both Felicia and Chris have been more than helpful and very professional. They always find time to say hi and ask if there is anything they can do for me to make our experience better . I have spoken the Brenda a few times about some concerns I have and she has addressed them immediately without hesitation. I find the facility staff is also very friendly and accommodating. I would recommend this complex to anyone looking for an upscale residence that is quiet and is located within all the dining and shopping locations you could ask for.
I have enjoyed living here for almost 2 years. Conveniently located near shopping and restaurants and centrally located to everything in Jacksonville. The amenities are top notch. Brenda and the office staff have been super helpful and Steve and the maintenance crew keep this place looking like new. Love living here and would highly recommend 5 thousand town
Living here about 2 years ago was my first experience in an apartment building and let me tell you, that it was the worst experience I’ve ever had. Management was extremely rude, condescending, and nosey. Felicia the leasing agent is one of the worst people I’ve ever encountered in my life, she is condescending and rude. After Hurricane Irma, there was a couple of windows that needed to be repaired, but management found out that the construction company messed up the windows from the start and had to redo them all. I found this out after the 7:00 am wake up call of a sledgehammer against stucco right outside my bedroom window without any notice prior. I expressed my dissatisfaction with Brenda Sherrill who is the Property Manager and she told me that she was “sorry” and that the construction would be complete in a couple of months. A couple of months later and they are still working on it. I express to Brenda that I want a discount on my monthly rent due to the inconvenience of the construction, lack of notice, and the fact that the loud noises scared my pet. She rudely declined and I later found out that she decided to offer new residents a month free off their rent, which is really deceitful. I decided to go higher up and called her boss, who immediately started blaming me for the inconvenience of the construction and tried to make me feel it was my fault for calling her and complaining. She is more condescending and manipulative than Brenda is. I also was towed multiple times due to the fact that there were literally 12 parking spaces for residents due to the construction vehicles and construction supply storage containers blocking them in the front and back of the building, which they did not compensate me for that massive inconvenience. Do NOT stay here under any circumstances. There are much better apartment communities in the area. I strongly believe that I should be compensated for the several tows of my car, plus getting paid back the rent that I ended up having to pay in the year that I endured this, especially due to their mess up of not informing me of a construction project that by the way I found out recently ended in September of 2019! You’ll be hearing from my lawyer. ✌🏻
Being new to Jacksonville, we could not have chosen a better place to live. Great amenities that are never over crowded because of the number of apartments. Walking distance to great restaurants and shopping. The mall shuttle will even pick you up and drop you off anywhere in the mall! Best place to live in Jacksonville!
I love living here, the staff is phenomenal and the place is clean. I’ve always wanted to live here and happy I do! Theyve been doing construction, but thats coming to an end and Im excited to see the finished product.
I moved in on Oct 31st of 2017. They never disclosed the upcoming construction repairs to me. I literally asked them why one of the windows had paint peeling all around it. The lady acted ignorant and said she has no idea. She told me nothing was wrong. I consider this being deceptive.I signed the lease and 30 days later I get an email about the new upcoming repairs. Well, fast forward nearly a year later; the construction is still going on. I was rented a unit with a balcony that I have been unable to use. The pool and hot tub were out of commission for a long time. Weve only recently gained the use of those back. My patio still has repair issues (the guard rail is literally disconnected and can swing back and forth). There are so many little things wrong with the place as a whole. Not just the building, but the units. The flooring isnt hardwood. Its laminate. You can see imprints from past tenants rugs that cant be removed. They didnt even cut the flooring to be flush with the dishwasher. You can literally see the concrete floor between the flooring and the dishwasher. The bathroom tiles are disgusting. The bathrooms need to be re-grouted. The grout wasnt sealed properly. Ive complained numerous times of this and they would literally just close the tickets out and ignore the issue.Theres also no lighting under the cabinets. So its very dark around the sink. The cabinets are also uneven as the building is settling. So they dont always automatically close. I have to close them by pushing them in. They didnt even screw the handles onto the cabinets well. They are all crooked. Theres one handle were they literally missed the screw hole entirely and you can see the hole where the handle should have gone. The carpet is also worn out in the unit. it doesnt have a quality feel to it at all. It has this strange crunchy plastic feel.I cant believe this place is 4-5 years old and is already this run down. Also, your guests arent allowed by the pool if you arent with them. My sister and brother in law were visiting for a few days. Well, someone from management (I know who...), came out, and asked who lives here!? Maybe instead of harassing the guests of your tenants you could repair the issues with this place? This isnt even the half of it. I could write a book.Ill be moving out of this place and into a penthouse elsewhere.Theres no way Im going to renew a lease in such a ratchet complex.PS - They had the audacity to attach a lease renewal letter to my door with increased rates.
Just came in for a tour of the property. SO GREAT. Felishia was so amazing! Love her. She did such an awesome job at showing us the complex! Such a way to raise the bar. All of the amenities are to die for. First place we decided to look at out of 3 today and we didn’t even need to go see the other choices. 5 Thousand Town was everything we were looking for and needed but more. So excited!
Worst place I have ever lived in. The staff is obscenely rude and condescending, unhelpful, and truthfully shocking with lack of customer service. They towed my guest’s car though there are only 7 guest spots for over 100 apartments, and told me I needed a guest pass to make me go away, only to later tell me that guest passes don’t exist and I would have to simply park on other PRIVATE property if the guest spots were full and risk being towed there! Put simply: the amenities are not worth the hassle. Don’t move here.
Ive been a long term resident at 5 thousand town. The leasing agents make this place more than an apartment complex - its a community. A small and diverse community with people from all over. Although it is pricey, you are paying for a higher quality of life. You are walking distance from everything and anything you could ever want. We are in the middle of the city having easy access to the beach and downtown. By not living here, you are doing a disservice to yourself. I thrive at 5!
Awesome Property Management Team. Set up a gift wrapping table!New trash valet service is working great, pick up from my door
5-thousand town is a beautiful property, and Bri has made everything a great experience!
Pros: Entire maintenance and cleaning staff at 5Thousand. Rooftop, neighbors are friendly, clean property. Quiet and peaceful property. Super convenient to shopping.Cons: Was not advised prior to signing lease about upcoming construction. Townhall meeting was conducted and was advised a specific timeline however that timeline was succeeded and then some! For the 2 years of residency I had to experience all the noise and horrible air quality due to the construction for the majority of our residency. There was not any further communication to the residents advising a updated completion date which was very frustrating. I wasnt able to use my patio for majority of my residency although I paid premium for it since it was the larger 2 bedroom. Very disappointed in my experience. I know the construction was required however it shouldve been disclosed prior to signing the lease and at the very least...give an update once the original time committment lapsed.
I absolutely love living at 5 Thousand Town. The apartments, amenities and grounds are top notch. In addition, the team have been friendly and helpful in every interaction. I highly recommend 5TT to anyone looking to live in the Southside area.
Visited this property with my spouse over the weekend. Jim, the proficient sales agent, gave us a great tour and understanding ofthe gorgeous, tasteful, and very upscale,resort-condo hybrid style to apartment living. My spouse and I owned a townhouse in our college days. After college our careers were paramount, we rented several apartments in various cities staying a few years at the most. The last apartment we rented nearly 12 years ago was a luxury apartment was in Orlando. It was nice and copied the resorts in the area. For the past 11.5 years we have owned our home. Like the places we rented before, we wanted a pool. Home ownership is great but the costs are more than one can imagine. Yard, pool, and home upkeep is time-consuming and impossible to accurately budget. As a former mortgage executive, I can say the benefits of home ownership have changed. In some ways the benefits have disappeared altogether. You used to be able to access your equity. Now it is nearly impossible to find or qualify for an equity line of credit. The low mortgage rates make buying appealing. The downside to that is you have less interest to claim on your taxes. 5 Thousand Town is designed for living with all the amenities of a million dollar home and without all the responsibilities of upkeep. There is an adage, You get what you pay for. With 5 Thousand Town as your home, you are getting a million dollar lifestyle at a small fraction of the price. I am overjoyed to make this our new home.
My wife, Theresa and I are a month or so away from our first year of residency. We started out in a one bedroom but when Theresa explained to the manager a predicament with developing medical conditions, we were offered a more accommodating solution. We both feel like it is a community and we have made new friends. The convenience cannot be overemphasized and the pet friendliness better than most. Happy hour, periodic breakfast, 24 hour coffee service and donuts every tuesday are a plus not offered by other apartments. The staff are always helpful for any issues in the apartment. We would encourage other apartment seekers to talk to the front office staff and learn about all of the amenities that 5000 Town offers.
Would not recommend anyone to live here! While some of the staff are amazing and I would rate that 5 stars the quality of the apartments is down right horrid. I have had leaking windows for the past five months since Hurricanes Irma and the construction has had delay after delay, so every time it rains I have drenched walls and carpets! Now I also have a broken air condition unit that has been now broken for 4 days and my apartment is in the 80’a during the day! You would literally be better off renting anywhere else but here!
We love living here
I will say the staff at 5K town is probably the best you could ever ask for. Brenda and Jim have been especially helpful. If I could rate the staffs competence and friendliness they would get 5 stars, unfortunately my review is based on the quality of life I have in my home here at 5k town. Here is me on my soapbox:My biggest complaint and nearly sole reason from keeping this a 5 star review would have the be the noise from the construction. When I entered the lease I was not aware that every window in the complex was going to soon be replaced because they were installed improperly and leaking. I wish I had been made aware of this prior to signing the lease as I am sure this was a known problem to staff and residents. Every morning promptly at 7am I am greeted with the sound of boom cranes, concrete saws, and hammering. I work evening/nights so this has pretty much been an absolute nightmare for me. No amount of white noise and/or earplugs can mute construction literally right outside of your window. If you work early mornings Monday-Friday then this might not be an issue for you (lucky, lucky, you).I agree with the other review about the parking situation. Construction has made finding a parking spot nearly impossible, but parking was limited even before the construction began. I park offsite and walk over to the building. A garage is the way to go if they are available.Overall the units in the complex are top notch and I really enjoyed staying here until the construction projects destroyed my quality of sleep. I wish I could renew my lease, but because of the excessive noise I just cannot live comfortably enough to justify the current market price of the units.
Phenomenal location, great amenities, and a professional and personable staff have set 5 Thousand Town apart. From the rooftop lounge overlooking the Town Center, to the billiards and card parlor opening into the pool and grill area, great spacious layouts continue into the apartments. Timely and very professional maintenance staff enhance the 5tt experience.
The best place to live in Jacksonville! The office staff to maintenance staff are truly the best and they care about every resident. I wouldnt live anywhere else!
Absolute worst experience, the guy I talked to was really rude. I wish had looked at his name tag, but I will describe him so any of you can avoid him. He was young, had gel in his hair, he wore his shirt unbottoned at the top showing some chest, and kind of buff. If this is a representation of your staff then good luck. Horrible staff member.
Staff has been very friendly and It’s a nice place to live.
We have lived here for 3 years & 9 months. We have had issues but these present owners had just purchased the building complex a few months prior to our move here.In their defense the previous owners who had the building built cut every corner to save money. The present owners have replaced every window in the building with good windows. Brenda our manager made them test each window with a strong water spray to make sure they didnt leak. The first set of windows leaked so they were returned. ThatCaused a delay but these things happen. At least they cared enough to check the windows. Construction has been a long ordeal and I know our management and maintenance staff have been just as frustrated as the renters have been.As far as ESA animals that is not true that they dont acknowledge them. If you have therequired paperwork proving you have an ESA animal they honor it. I know because we have an ESA animal and they honor it. We told Brenda we had a ESA animal & she just told us what paperwork was required. As far as the fobs go you get one for the apartment. If you want another one you just pay a small fee. Jacksonville area has quite a bit of crime therefore the security here is needed. Just carry your fob with you and it is no big deal.I have always put in maintenance requests online and have had immediate or very quick service. We had a leak in some of our walls. Maintenance staff here doesnt handle the construction work therefore has no control over it. Finally i had lost my patience & sent in a work order stating my frustration. Brenda forwarded to the President of the Carroll Company. If it wasnt for Brenda many things would not be taken care of around here. She replaces furniture if it looks worn. She has worked hard to keep this place updated. She has a budget to work with so she does her best with it. She get discount coupons from businesses from time to time for us. I have never found Brenda to be rude. If someone comes in with a bad attitude and is rude to the staff or her she will definitely let them know that is not tolerated. In her position she has to be firm.Dogs are not suppose to be in the pool area as far as I know.& especially not allowed to run free. I am a pet owner & those pet owners that do not follow the rules make it hard for the rest of us that do. Brenda has found dog poop in the elevator and other areas where their owners just left it there.I do agree the dog park is not the best but again it was put in by qthe first owners. Brenda has tried to see what can be done about it but there is no other area to relocate it. She put in a nice bench with a cover for us. They have 2 areas with doggie bags to use to pick up after the dogs but some let the dog run and some of us have stepped in it. We complain & she sends out notices. We wish this was an age requirement long term rental because we see many that do not follow the rules and dont care. Therefore a firm but fair management staff is needed to make sure the rules are upheld. One 4th of July some renters had a party in the pool area. When Brenda came in Monday morning the pool had beer cans thrown it. They trashed the area. Therefore the pool had to be drained and pool & area had to be cleaned. So if those who complain about the rules then move. The rules are what keeps the apartment complex orderly. In my opinion I have never found a management or maintenance staff that cares about the renters and does what they can to help out if needed. As far as the construction Brenda set up a meeting before the construction with us renters & the construction heads. The construction crew & bosses I would give a one star but again Brenda tried to keep them moving along but she could only do so much. She does not deserve all of these negative comments. Neither do the other staff members. They have made us always feel like part of their family. No apartment complex is going to be perfect but I have found this one to always be accommodating to our needs. No one is perfect but we have a great management & maintenance group here.
Beautiful community right in the heart of a great location. The staff really make this feel like home!
There are so many small things wrong with this apt complex, it makes it frustrating to live or visit here.1. The parking spots were made for Tonka toys. Every spot is the compact car size. So if you drive anything bigger than a prius youll have to park at the restaurant next door. Which youll be doing often cause there are not enough spots to park at the apt2. The security is ridiculous. I understand making it safe but this is too much. All of the doors have RFID scanners to let you in with only two that have a key pads for guests. The keypad is a screen that shuffles the numbers all around to different spots each use. So the 1 could be at the 7 spot. Why? No clue. So say you have a visitor. They have to park far away then walk to the front of the building, type in the super encrypted mission impossible keypad, then proceed to enter. Forgot even getting delivery food.3. Its all design and zero function. Little things like a medicine cabinet in the bathroom dont exist. The towel rack is above the toilet about 12 so your towels drape over the toilet. The wood floors (lynolium) are bumpy and seemingly awkward. There is a large pilar right in the middle of the living room. I suppose for support, but they should have built around it. The dryer door cant open all the way in its closet and so it closes on you while loading. The master shower has a ceiling mounted shower head. It looks cool and modern but it frustrates me. If you want to just stand under the water and enjoy it, it just drowns you or you have to bend your head out of it. And forget about the water reaching the hard to reach places...All in all the facility is nice and the weight room is huge, with cool features, but when it comes down to living... this place falls short. Its better built as a time share where you enjoy it for a week and that was enough of that.
I moved in immediately following the hurricane in Oct. 2017 after waiting a couple weeks for a unit with a balcony to become available. When I looked at the building it seemed like the perfect place to stay as I recently accepted a new position in the area and was going to use the place during the week while I worked. Well, the sales pitch moving in never mentioned a two year construction project that would begin a month after moving in. I could have simply accepted another apartment for much less but outdoor space was important to me as the agent new - yet they failed to mention my outdoor space would be a construction zone through my stay.. Anyways, six months later the project continues - I have no outdoor space and as I decided to raise my concern to the fact I was not told prior to moving in I was basically called a liar by the manager. Great customer service! Thanks - feels just like home if I lived in a prison. I requested a credit towards the non-use of my balcony and was advised it was 20.00 a month... Lol, I know units with a balcony and same unit without are a couple hundred different based on my initial visit... As well, new tenants who moved in AFTER the cranes came are being offered a special which once was 1K bucks but now they dont have it on the site cause they want to make sure people who moved in just prior - does not matter.. I only found out about the project a month after moving in - just before the cranes showed up. Anyways, I do not need the credit but it is a matter of principle - rather than try and do what is honest from the start they just try to screw you and then attack your integrity afterwards... With the 300 docs you fill out prior to moving in you think they would have one that was a disclosure of the construction - but that would be doing the right thing and that is not how it works here... Welcome to my overpriced construction zone! Would you say this disaster is only worth 20.00 a month off? lol..
Lived here for 2 years, starting my 3rd. Great location, responsive and personable management, good neighbors and concrete construction so it’s quiet.
Best Apts in Jacksonville. If you are looking for luxury, high-end apts, 5 star amenities, friendly staff, great location, and BRAND NEW everything, stop looking this is the place to be. Im originally from Miami, but moved to Washington State due to a Business contract a while ago, and now Im here in Jacksonville. At first, I thought Jacksonville was not the right place for me, but it all changed once I decided to give 5 Thousand Town Apartments a try. I cannot wait to move in, I chose a 2/2 apt facing the pool area, it has hard-wood floors, granite counter tops, brand new and stylish appliances, over 1200 sq ft, and I can keep going. I wonder who designed these, but whoever did deserves to be rich lol. The apts are spacious, lots of closet space, full size washer and dryer inside the unit. I honestly cant ask for more, this place met my expectations plus it offered a lot more. In addition, it has a great gym, an awesome roof top area where you can sit and relax after you get home from work, and enjoy breathtaking views of the city, a pool, a jacuzzi, and so much more. I did see a bit of construction going on but it is only to better the community, I cant even imagine what it will look like once it all finishes. I do not find these apts expensive, on the positive side it scares away trashy ppl looking for cheap apts, if you are looking for an apt under $1000, these are definitely not for you. Thank you
I wanted to like this place, I really did. I just moved to jax and I was looking for a modern style apartment in a convenient location and this was the place that stood out to me the most. Unfortunately, my partner and I was pre-judged by one of the leasing consultants and referred us to a lower priced apartment when we never mentioned our price range initially. She didnt let us know about all of the available 2 bedroom options, didnt show us all of the amenities and I felt like she wanted us to leave rather than selling the features of the apartment to evoke our interest even more. Im only giving them a 3rd star bc after we submitted our feedback online and the manager did reach out to us and offered her services to help us out.
PROS: Location, roof top deck with fire pits, front desk/Leasing Consultants/housekeeping/residents very friendly. Inside storage rooms available for rent, carpeting in hallways routinely cleaned, happy hour and breakfast once a month, Wrapping station during holidaysCONS: Brenda Sherrill (Owner/Agent for Carroll Management) is rude, unaccommodating, and has the worst reputation according to numerous fellow residents. Serious double standard in regards to how management reinforces minor things, then residents are forced to compromise their living environment (Construction began a month after I moved in and NINE MONTHS later it is still going on: no one EVER disclosed this to me, otherwise I would have NEVER moved in. We were required to keep our balcony clear for months and move furniture 4ft+ from all windows/door. (Apartments tiny and not offered storage) Plastic/scaffolding block views. Supervised crew came inside unit to replace windows and didn’t put up plastic barrier as I was told they would. Huge stain left on carpet is still visible after deep cleaning. Management refused to reimburse many of us for nails/screws in our tires from parking lot after presenting receipts/photos and letter from shop. When I first moved in, two days later I was getting notifications to remove PODS (then construction machinery/equipment/materials come and take the entire back up leaving no parking/1 parking space per apt/constant texts are sent threatening to have vehicles towed) After living here for 9 mo, I let my dog off the leash once in pool area while grilling (no one apart from my party was there) and the NEXT day I had a letter in my door with a 7 day notice of non-compliance threatening eviction! (Found on security camera footage) stating I was in violation of the pet addendum. (NO visible signs of entrance to pool/grill area from main access. The ONLY designated area for dogs to run off leashes is trashed and the gate is knocked down by construction so our dogs are not secure from shopping traffic (?!??!) Dog park is awful. Lake/“park” is contaminated from construction debris left out after crew leaves for evenings, weekends and holidays. The only entrance to Dog park from the building stays completely blocked by styrofoam/debris(huge fire/safety violation) Nails, screws, plastic drinking bottles/etc are constantly left on ground and are hazard to animals (and people). Grass around lake area is not maintained enough. They do not honor ESA animals. We CONSTANTLY receive letters on door (usually less than 24hr notice) stating management/maintenance needs access to unit (replacing HVAC vents, checking dryer vents, checking fire alarm, allowing construction crew in a week, letting city officials in for permits...it’s been totally invasive and most things could be consolidated with a couple visits instead of every month or so having my living situation disturbed and being asked to lock my pet up) Only one key fob per apartment but all common areas and amenities require to buzz for entrance and exit (only one manual key pad is located at front of apartment building) Side entrance facing Moxie does not allow access back into building and locks you out. Electronic package access system is routinely down yet if package left for extra day management sends notifications to remove them and you get fined. Pool is dirty with debris/leaves are occupied by construction equipment. SINGLE grill for premises is sub par and have to cram food in certain corners for heat. You are FORCED to pay/billed for AT&T U-Verse/wi-fi even if you don’t want/use. If you have HDTV, you are charged an extra fee each month. Wi-fi is slow esp if trying to stream movies. Gym is not accessible early so don’t bank on being able to use. Garages over priced ($140-200 mo)No valet trash service or business/computer area. Coffee/tea station supply does not accommodate the number of residents/no extra supplies left in cabinets to stock on weekend or holiday when staff is gone. Brenda, keep in mind that WE pay YOUR salary by living here. Have some courtesy/respect.
