Ive used McGowens three times. Each time the repair tech was polite and professional. States what the issue was and fixed it as quick as possible. Even on a Sunday before a holiday, they worked me in, and the price was unbeatable. Ive never once had them try and sell me something I dont need. I will continue to use them for any AC needs I have.

Run .. dont walk just run. This company put our AC in 5 years ago and it ran fine (hence the 2 stars) until they told me I had a leak and was short 3 lbs freon. They fill it and it stops working, come back out and its overfilled by 3lbs. Hey whatever mistakes happen. They put a hard start kit on for me and shortly after my compressor failed. Raised red flags to the company and was told there was no relation.... turns out in fixing the compressor the hard start was out on wrong... Was told it was not the culprit though.... Here we are two months later and the blower motor is out. Had another company look at it and basically tell me that everything that McGowan told me was a lie to cover the mistake... I will not use them again and I hope I save someone some time and money in not making the mistakes I did.

Incredible response, scheduler listened, squeezed us in and Steve called me to confirm, showed up exactly when he said, clean, professional, knowledgeable, great communication skills, obviously trustworthy, took time to evaluate situation and explain EVERYTHING in terms easy to understand, exerted NO pressure yet showed me improvements and took the time to perform them. Very fair pricing, great evaluation and explanation of recommended next steps. I have owned and/run several service companies and cannot praise him (and by extension McGowans H&AC). One of our daughters had just arrived from the West coast for our first visit in a year and late in the day our AC attic unit developed a serious problem and Steves prompt response and willingness to work in the extremely tight and hot location was a Godsend for which we are sooo grateful. Never had less response fromA vendor in my life. Paid these guys 3 times to fix my AC and have now called 4 times tonight as it is not working again. No response from anyone. Disappointed that these guys advertise a good product and great service. They really suck

Do not use McGowan! They have terrible service! I should have called the Marks brothers!They promised to be there between 5-7 I took off from work dispatch called at 5 to tell me that the technician would be there after 7 because he was running late. I went to dinner. The technician called me and told me he was not running late and would be there in ten minutes. I said I was told he would be there after 7. He texted me back to say he had to reschedule because he couldn’t be there at the reassigned time of 7.

Came out within 24 hrs. Tech was very professional, polite and informative. He knew what needed to be done and got the cold air flowing again in a short amount of time. Very pleased with McGowans and will usethem again.

I have a hard time even rating 1 star. McGowan when they come always tries to sell additional products. The technician who came to my house after service said the unit had ice, said my fan needed to be replaced at a cost of $820. After 5 days and numerous calls on my part to check on the status, I was informed the part was back ordered. I called another company that came the next day, The other company informed me the fan was fine only the relay had to be replaced a $50 part not the fan. The fan worked fine.

Fantastic service. No ac in the middle of summer; taken care of within 24 hours. Price was fair, work was excellent.

Called their emergency line, rep said someone would call us within an hour. Never got a call back, so we called back. At this point, they said someone would call us in the morning. Next day, someone called and said someone would be here today but they could not give a time window. Sat around all day for a message to come at 5:00pm saying they could not come today.Now we will be on day 3 of no AC during summer when calling their “emergency” line. Next time I will call somewhere else.

Prompt service, very professional. Reasonably priced. I’m a jack of all trades and had to call when an AC issue was above my expertise. Fixed the problem, saved me some money, and educated me on the issue. Will use anytime I need something HVAC related.

Typical company that got too big for their own good. You reach the actual business one time out of every 5 or so calls. The rest get forwarded to a call center with employees who could care less that your ac is broken in the middle of summer. I work from home and told the service agent this is an emergency. NO extra action was taken by anyone in the company who I mentioned this to. The agent was overweight and smelled unclean. He was not helpful and did not explain what the issue was. I will not be using McGowan or referring anyone I know to their business. I will be directing people else where and warning them to avoid this place.

McGowan’s provided great same day service on a Sunday! I called mid-morning and they were here to fix my AC by mid-afternoon. The technician was professional and knew exactly what the problem was based on their experience. I will definitely call McGowan’s for my next AC repair.

Very professional service. They were able to get us a same day appointment. Gave us 2 recommendations for additional service needed with prices and was happy to explain why they were recommended and not pushy at all. I appreciated that although COVID restrictions have been relaxed, the technician still wore a mask and used booties for his shoes. We will definitely continue to use this company.

I called mid-afternoon after our AC stopped working. The customer service agent was very friendly and helpful and had me scheduled for a same day appointment within the hour. The tech showed up soon after and was also extremely helpful and knowledgeable. My AC stopped working and I called about 4pm.A technician dispatched to my home within 2 hours. He diagnosed the issues, did a thorough cleaning and had the necessary parts on his truck to fix my issue. The house was cool again by later in the evening. Overall, great service and response!

There is nothing more frustrating than your AC going out when it is hot outside. I have used McGowans since 2013 and have always been satisfied with their company. Today I was introduced to Stephen Uhlik, who was the technician helping me with my problem. I have spent more than 30 years in the business sector I can honestly say that I do not think that I have ever met anyone with his patience and understanding. This guy should be teaching customer service and getting paid a lot of money to do it. Stephen exemplifies what every customer looks for in a representative. The world needs more people like him.

Steve was a fantastic tech. He was timely, knowledgeable, and even called the next morning to make sure our unit was still working well. He was thorough and also took his time to answer all our questions. He really went the extra mile for us. It was the best experience we’ve ever had with any company in the HVAC industry and otherwise. We were very impressed and felt relieved to know we were in such good hands.

Awful service. They don’t have any sense of urgency in returning calls or service calls. AC less than 2 years old that is REGULARLY serviced by these people breaks, floods my upstairs yet can’t get anyone to return calls for days. Meanwhile it’s 86 degrees in my home and when I finally get a call they tell me at least a week until they get the part then I have to wait to schedule another service call!!! Called another company and it was fixed next day at a fraction of the cost . Many of my neighbors also have had terrible experiences with this company- don’t waste your time or money, especially in this heat.

The technician that came for this appointment was very professional and much better than the last technician we had!! He changed out the thermostat for the correct one (last tech installed wrong one) and performed a check on our system. I wish this was done weeks ago with this tech.

Setup yearly maintenance service. First service was great. Tech called ahead, arrived on-time, was professional and friendly and provided great service.

A service technician arrived on 7/27/21 and I explained the problem I was having. He inspected the ac unit and said the coils on the ac were causing the problem. I authorized him to clean the coils and felt the problem had been solved. The next day the problem was still there. I found that the problem was the HVAC duct. I called back, the company responded and saw the damage to the duct. On 7/30/21 I received a proposal but not to replace the damaged duct but the entire system. This was going to cost $1343. I guess they were getting ready for the winter since the technician told me that the summer is busier. The first technician told me I could replace the duct myself for he gave an approximate estimate of $1100 to replace the duct.

Mike Muhlbauer was amazing when he came and gave us the estimate on new duct/ vent work. Our place also needed insulation because it was an older home and not staying cool or hot enough. We had 5 other companies come and some of them didnt even go up and look at the attic. Mike was thorough and knowledgeable .We decided to go with them. They sure did deliver. Now our home has a new vent into our newly enclosed porch plus insulation that doesnt itch! The brothers that came to install were punctual, friendly and worked diligently. Called this place yesterday morning. Was told they would be out today and I’d get a call by 2:00. It’s 3:00 no call and blazing hot house. Our kids sweated all night without AC. I did call another company who was very responsive and gave a nice timeframe with no hold time. Don’t waste your time or money on this joke of a company unless you like long hold times, unresponsive, unreliable workers, and enjoy sweating with no air conditioning while being given the run around.

McGowan installed out AC in 1999 when the home was built. It is still going after 22 years. We have only had 2 minor repairs. The last one was on 7/8/21. Always great service and professional. We know we are going to need a new unit and it will be McGowan installing it.

I’ve always had good service from McGowans . And I understand that everyone is busy. But this time they arrived 2.5 hours past the window of 2-4 pm. I would have appreciated a phone call just to say “I’m running late”.

The gentleman called 30 minutes a head of time like they said he would. He arrived on time and maintained the AC unit inside and out. His recommendation to replace a wearing part was at a great price and will secure the good running condition of the unit for years to come. After agreeing he had the parts in the van and installed in minutes. He did a great job and was super nice, helpful and professional as we are working from home. My newish AC stopped blowing cold Sunday evening, called Monday morning and they had a repairman at the house by lunch time. Turned out ants had gunked up the contactor! Professional service; on-time, friendly, and organized. Blew out the ants, set an ant bait trap, and replaced the contactor; now we’re swimming in cold air again!

It was nothing out of ordinary. Not sure its worth the money $$, they are one of the highest in the city. You get the same if not better servcie from other providers. technician didnt wear booties, ask me if he needed to take off shoes. Well if he asked it meant that wasnt something he wanted to do. Left light on. Just the normal run of the I realley dont care.

Overnight our air conditioner stopped working. I called McGowans first thing in the morning and someone was at the house that afternoon. The repairman was professional and courteous. He was even patient in answering my young sons questions while he was working. We call McGowans for all our AC repair and will continue to call them when we need work done.

McGowan’s is always my go-to choice for residential HVAC work. They’ve always been quick to respond, professional during the visit and very fair with price. Most recent service, 07/14/2021, was no different. Called at 11:30 am, reported my issue, they had a gentleman dispatched and on-site by 3:00 pm. Tech (Tommy) texted me what he’d found and what needed to be repaired. Gave me two options, first was a band-aid type fix and more budget friendly…the other option required more parts but was the advised proper route. Obviously, went with the more involved option because I don’t want to run the risk of having another issue during the brutal summer months. Invoice was emailed to me upon completion and was, in fact, less than originally quoted. Great job, McGowan’s.I say they’re always my go-to residential HVAC company having owned several different houses with random AC issues…not because I’ve had them out several times to constantly troubleshoot the same unit(s). New houses, new problems.

Original service man was competent, polite and worked continuously without a break. All appeared well when he left. Unfortunately the AC did not produce cool air and we called back 1 hour later. McGowen sent a service man right out and he located the problem and corrected it in about 30 minutes. Overall good job.

The technician, Bobby D, did an excellent job on the work he completed and an even better job of educating me on several different things. As a result I had him install a kit on the compressor that helps reduce the amount of energy it uses and helps prolong the life.
