My mother lived in Old Oak Tree for 3 years the manager was nice at first. Then she was very mean to me and my mother after a few months. Mother at this time had friends that she did not want to move to another place. After three years my mother had to be moved to a full care center. The manager would not return her deposit. when we started moving her out we found mold along the a/c and heating ducts. The apartment was clean when we moved her out. One time when she was living at Olde Oak Tree I had to move most all her things out because her apartment got infested with bed bugs from another apartment. I also had to throw away a lot of her personal things. This is not a good place for your elderly parents. I have a lot of stories about the manager and the way she treated people including the maintenance man that was a life long friend that passed away because of things to do with the manager. My mother was a very active 94 years young when she lived at OLD MEAN TREE

Ive been resident here for over 3 years. I like the security of the building. Mine is a positive experience.Manager and assistance manager have been there to help from front door to my apt, when my family couldnt be here and car service was dropping me off.Jeanne service coordinator is outstanding resource for helping residents with everyday needs and special needs. As well as coordinating entertainment and community room functions.Location offers many options from groceries shopping, to pizza. Social security office within walking distance. My Mother lived here for 21 years. My ex Mother in law also lived here for over 15 years, until she had to go to nursing home.

!!! PLEASE TAKE HEED OF ALL THE ONE STAR REVIEWS HERE !!!#1 management uses the security cameras on the inside and outside of the building to catch residents and visitors breaking rules. It doesnt take much, but if caught, you will receive a VERY stern SCOLDING (yes, scolding) by the manager, in a very condescending tone of voice.#2 If you ask the manager a question, you dont get an answer. She responds with a question, with the sole purpose of intimidating and blaming you.#3 Bedbugs have become a REAL problem here, and the manager will blame YOU for them, even though you have no control over where they come from.#4 What others have said here about the parking is absolutely true! I have personally witnessed it. This will also give the asst. manager a crack at you too.#5 management WILL go through your garbage in order to find something on you. Believe it!#6 If you still want to live here (but consider not doing it), you need to get used to fire engines and ambulances coming to the front parking lot almost every single day. So, park in the back where your car has a better chance of being broken into.#7 because its H.U.D. housing, get used to inspections a few times a year. Its yet another chance for on site management to take a swipe at you, if possible.#8 if you still want to live here, get used to gossip. If the manager hears it, she will hold it against you as well. It also gives her an another opportunity to intimidate you if you go to her about it. Shell try and make you feel dumb about yourself.#9 I almost forgot to mention that you will want to sign for any deliveries may you get, because they could get stolen from your front door (prescriptions, etc.). Some residents also read other residents private correspondence that is stuck in their front door.Privacy? Not so much!*There is much more that could be said, but this should be enough food for thought, and reconsideration.ONE REDEEMING VALUE LIVING THERE:Jeannie, the social service coordinator! She is SO helpful! Always kind! An angel!

I have never lived here but I’m looking for a place for my friend to live. She’s disabled and can’t defend herself when lied on or mistreated. After reading the reviews I am absolutely appalled at how so many people are calling out the same name as a abuser yet she is still employed there. This is crazy but if my friend decides to move there. TRUST ME WHEN I SAY I WILL VIDEO/AUDIO RECORD I will sue for discrimination and elder abuse. That’s just the bottom of what I’d do to them. No one is calling HUD to report these allegations but I am by no means the lay down and take it type person. My bff is a criminal attorney married to a civil law attorney

The place itself is most acceptable. Easy access to rooms and elevators. The office manager is just very rude to my friend who resides there. There is a place to drop off and pick up residents, but apparently no one is supposed to use it. The woman is a coward, since I walked my friend in so she would not get yelled at and the woman waited until I left to tell at her. Her name is Barbara and she has spoken to another friend of ours in the same tone. These are mostly elderly persons who should be able to enjoy their home, not be afraid to come and go.

Barbara Graham is very rude. Listens to gossip. Tells residents where they can sit on the 2nd floor. Micromanages everything. I myself have witnessed 3 elderly people she has made cry. One of those people at 84 had to take xanax. If this is your idea of a manager fine. You would have a lot more complaints on this website if people could use the internet of that I am positive!

Barbara is very rude to the people living there and to the familys that come visit their loved ones. She is a bad manager. They need to get someone else to run this place! If Barbara was gone my parent would consider coming back.

Barbra is very rude. looses her temper very easly to be working with the elderly. She has also dated a male resident, which I think is very unprofessional. She allowed him to park in the closest handy cap space for months at a time but yell at the other residents when they park there. Residents lockers have been broken into multiple times, barba said she has no idea who did it but refuse to check the cameras they have, yet she uses the cameras against you if she sees you doing anything wrong, like bringing large items through the front door and not asking her to open the back door and elevator because when you ask her she gets mad at you and gives you a hard time. I think they really need to get her out of there! My parent was very un happy there.
