Back when I was little my parents stayed in this apartment and it was nice I liked it. Now looking at the review theres no wondering why people stayed moving out. I would like to move here myself but dont want to lose money I already dont have if you know what I mean

Don’t rent from these people they will take your money say they have an apartment for you and not return it!!

Don’t waste your time. They had me waiting all month a week before I was supposed to move in told me I wasn’t approved and I made to much. And now can’t get my deposit back. Save your yourself some effort and time don’t apply here

Im a resident here at the present. When we have a heavy rain it rains through the vent in my living room ceiling. This has happened 4xs now. The first time I called emergency maintenance no on ever showed. So it continued to happen on the 3rd incedent the receptionist told me She was sorry but we have no one to make repairs, again no one came to repair this problem so it happened again (4th time)called emergency I was told they would contact Ms Jolene still no one came. I called the office I was told the message goes directly to Ms Jolene which never again contacted me. Im dealing with the couch as been rained on 4x puring rain also my carpet so Im guessing mold isy next problem.

I would like to know for almost 3 months we have not had maintenance and Id like to know when do they plan to have maintenance I was told but there is nothing they can do this is my first time living on a property without maintenance Im beginning to think they dont care

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!!! I had to send off for my children’s social security cards via mail due to the pandemic, and because the government didn’t send back the cards in a timely manner, they denied my application and kept my $400. I am a single mother with restricted income. They never stated if you do everything you’re supposed to and the government doesn’t do it’s part in a timely manner you will be punished!! I can’t believe this happened.

They require deposit before application is approved!!! Then took almost a month and sas still asking for more documents. Either they dont know what they are doing, or they judt wanted to keep the deposit. They are a sham!°°

This is the worst apartment in the world the manager is so mean and she treats us in a very bad way and she doesnt want to renew our lease and to vocate within 2 months.

I have lived here for over 18 years and I love it. The management and maintenance staff are awesome. Ive never had to wait to get anything done. Theyve always gone out of their way to help. As a single woman that means a lot to me. Its kept clean and up to date.

I currently reside here, and I can say they have the friendliest staff ever, especially John he is the greatest maintenance man ever. To be honest if it wasnt for John and some of the office staff, I would have been and relocated... They take care of all needs as soon as possible and more or less makes me feel safe, and comfortable under there management.

Toured the place. The apartments seem spacious and nice. The grounds were well kept, with no trash anywhere. Sad thing is that we had a paperwork issue, before they even processed our application. Thus we were told we would get our deposit and processing fee back, as it had NOT been processed at all. Well, they kept the processing fee anyway, and only gave us back the deposit. Since we lived in another state, they got away with it. So, honesty seems to be an issue with the staff. We are willing to bet that the new secretary there simply took the money order for herself. Because when I called a second time, nobody knew anything about the whole matter. So we got ripped off, and it is too small of an amount to take anyone to court. Our advise is BEWARE.

Current resident for 2 years and will be renewing my lease soon. Good value, quick maintenance and pleasant office staff—Micheala has been available to answer questions and help with any issues. Has been better for me than other comparable apartments. Would recommend.

This is a rating for the in-office service: The ladies working there are awesome. I had a problem with the application process, but they made it tolerable; enjoyable even. Thanks ladies! As for living there (me 2 years); if you have people living above you, pray theyre respectful. This ditty applies: One Persons Floor Is Anothers Ceiling! Otherwise, it was a good experience.

We have been living here for 15 years with no thoughts of moving, The maintenance has been outstanding, the Management has been great. I highly recommend to anyone looking for a good apartment to give Brookstone Village Apartments a good look, theres more than just a nice apartment theres quality people that work for you!

Moved here in April 2017 and I love it here. Nice and spacious, clean property for the most part. ( Tenants seem not pick up after themselves) the staff is awesome.

I have been a resident here for approximately two years. In the two years I would like to believe that I am an ideal tenant. Well now my lease is up for renewal and Im sad to say that I will not be renewing my lease. I received a shocking call from the manager informing me that security said they had been to my door about a disturbance. This was the first time that I had heard anything about this. So I proceeded to tell her that this was a mistake of some sort. Because no one had been to my door about a disturbance of any kind. Everything here at my unit was quite as usual. If I was guilty of making noise. I would be the first to say so and apologize for the behavior. I was being falsely accused of something that had nothing to do with me, and with being said. I would rather take my business elsewhere .

Do not be fooled! The office staff, ( mainly the head manager) are freaking control freaks. The rules they have here are insane. If you have small children or a dog or if you walk just a little hard your best bet would to not get an apt on the second or third floor, or the people under you will constantly complaining. Definitely not worth moving here if you dont want management barging into your home every other week it seems like. As you can tell Ive had a bad experience here, but if you scroll through other reviews youll get a sense of what Im talking about.

I love Brookstone Village it’s quiet and a nice area to live in.Oh and the staff always make sure everything is on point especially John he definitely gets the job done.All the people are friendly and respectful.

Ive lived at Brookstone for a year now and plan on renewing im in a 2 bedroom its nice never had any problems and when i did they fixed it. with all the snow the past week they worked non stop with the removal and salt. I would recommend living here if you are looking for a more modern affordable apartment.....

I have lived in brookstone village apts since 2004. I have enjoyed living here. I find it to be one of the best properties around. The office staff is kind, friendly and helpful. The new head of maintenance John is exceptional. In the past the maintenance men were mediocre. But they have stepped up their game by hiring a professional who knows his job and does it. He has a can do attitude. Id also like to add that they are like family there. I see there are complaints on this site. I want to go on record that the ones complaining are probably the people who cause problems wherever they go. Its a great place to live and they dont put up with criminal activity etc. Making it a safer place to live. Ive rented most of my life and its a great place to live.

My sisters living over here not as ghetto as timber lake where she was in. This place is ok. Rent kinda high and oh well sisters only 27 and shes on section 8 so she thought shed give this place a try. Some drugs she says but nothing like timber wind off Truman road.

I lived here for a year and did not renew my lease because the manager Joelene was not very nice always acted like anything you brought to her attention was a waste of her time. I ended up having to take them to court because they would not fix my air-conditioner which really needed replaced and stole most of my deposit. It racked my electric bill up to $1600 for 2 months because I had to run it on high just to barely cool off on the 3rd floor. They finally put a window unit in that could only cool off one room so we lived in the bedroom until our lease was up. Why were they being cheap to just replace the real unit? Not good customer service when I pay them rent. The judge dropped the case because I didn’t pay my electric bill but that was the whole point I could not pay a bill 3x my rent for something that is their fault. Now I can’t live in Independence and have electric in my name until that bill is paid so I will never live in Independence again or ever pay that bill nor rent from this horrific company ever again!!!

I love living here but I hate my neighbors with a passion loud music smoking weed having 20 people over everyday we really dont know who even live their thats how many people that be there Im ready to move not because of living here because of the neighbors

I will say this from the heart and this is ONLY!! For the original owners the ones that first build brookstone I miss them so much they always made sure things were fixed the property was always beautiful!! And the owners and the original manager was so nice to me and other tenets.. They would always throw pool parties have BBQ it was very wonderful to live there.. The grounds man was super nice it was like heaven at brookstone.. When they hired another manager there and the manager was mean to me the owner took care of the problem the owners were very genuine like they should be caring about their tenets.. I miss them so much and I will always give a good word to the original owners of brookstone they always made the property look beautiful!! But now their gone its just like a rose that turned black.. I will always Miss the original owners they were so kind I wish I could find them and thank them for all the kindness they done for me.. Im just happy I dont live there anymore I rather live in a dog house before I go bath there... Wow what people do for the love of money and greed and thats everywhere...

I would advise nobody to live here feels like ur in prison u get harassed if neighbors dont like u they get u in trouble they quick to move u in and quick to try and get 3000$ out of u. Might seem good at first but by 3 or 4 months no. If u dont want to live on egg shells.

Horrible place too live nothing luxurious about them. Office people are rude, so many rules can’t park your car backwards, can’t have a door mat . Maintenance also horrible the roll over on maintenance very high sometime non at all . Yarco horrible company the apartments are over priced. They are just money hungry and send you on your way . First late fee is 100 dollars after its 5 dollars a day . Money hungry apartments but will not hold up their end . I liked nothing about it never will recommend no one !!!

Been here 7 months. Cant wait to leave. Overpriced for all of the stuff we have been through. I cannot stress how much I regret signing my lease. Ive seen countless people move in and back out the same weekend. Not worth the price or the trouble. The reasons are incessant..

The peoples that work here will have you thinking you gone move in take you application fee and deposit fee to turn around and say no you cant move in and keep your deposit money. Dont move here find another place they are a scam believe me

Have not fully moved in all the way and it has already been a problem the staff is rude except for Desa Thompson i wld ratber deal with het tban anyone else in tht office. The rules and fines are ridiculous we have not been there a month and already looking for a new place just hve to live the leasr dwn . wr will not renew rbe lease it is a horrible pmace to move please dont waste your time or your money with the sham of a company its full of spiders and tht staff is very rude and also if u want to pay 800 in rent and feel like a prisoner or in jail n this is the place for u. U cnt live like a prisoner in a place tht u pay 800 to. This not the place for us this place is like bein in jail only u paying rent

If I could give a 0 star I would! Everyone from the property to corporate office and unprofessional! I applied about a month ago and was told verbally my deposit would not be held under my circumstances if I had proof I paid my previous apartments in which I did and my deposit was still held. I was then told we know what we said but you signed the paperwork I was given corporates number to dispute it. I called corporate 2 weeks ago and left a message never got a call back. Called today and spoke with Marsh who refused to call the complex and speak with Ashley to verify what was discussed. She told me I dont have to I know her very well. Dont waste your time or money with these people. I will be contacting the BBB and also a lawyer because they are scamming people

Very dirty place. Bad installation. Molding build up on all windows over time. They’ll find a way to charges you when you move out. Never got my deposit back. Will never come back even if I have nowhere to go.

I havent even moved in yet and the Neanderthals at this complex are insane. When i first visited i asked if there was a model available Joelene the manager said the models are online. I said okay as ling as my unit looks like that one. she immediately said Well they are 20 years old so theyre no brand new i didnt say anything about newness but if your referring me to look at the model online and want me to comfortable with just that not okay. Then I was told I will loose my holding fee if I see the unit and choose not to move in. Which is sad cause again no models to see in real life. After leaving I came to google and see this property and the people in are what I expected, cow manure. I was contacted today and said my application cannot be approved until i give my notice to vacate my current unit. I asked for my money back and was told no because my application has been processed. Im working with some city officials to see what we can do regarding these housing practices I only seem to run into when dealing with tax credit properties. All the documents I signed no where did it i say i need to give notice to vacate my current property manager to get an approval. called Diane at Yarco and she wanted to explain a process I dont need to know . My money is what I inquired about. This is deceitful and im not the least bit done with these raggedy people in this ran down project community. Went back in to obtain my holding fee and paperword was given a hard time with that. Not sure why Ashley feels she needs to hold on to my paperwork and couldnt even begin to explain the reasoning behing this. Then a young lady limps in after she fell down some worn cement steps. Asked for a incident report and was told Yarco would process the incident and she will receive a copy. How the hell Yarco gone process a incident report and they werent present? This management has very bad practices and needs to broguht to the light. I informed the young lady you obtain your own report you fill it out and turn it in never allow someone else to document a incident in your behalf. The games is unreal here.

Maintenance here is very slow. Big greedy corporate owners mean you arent a priority. Seek elsewhere.

Been here for a year & ready to move. The management here sucks !!!!!! Never delt with anything like it smh. In the processing of replacing my whole ceiling & they will not accommodate me for another temporarily unit or rent. I will not recommend any one to move here.
