Bunn’s and Bennett recommended and sold me a Westinghouse unit seven years ago. It has been a lemon from the beginning. Service calls have run well into double digits. Coil, motor, boards have all been replaced at least once. Now the motor has blown AGAIN. The service rep advises that the part is under warranty, but I would have to pay labor. Part availability is SIX weeks. So what good is a warranty if one cannot have air conditioning in the heat of summer for six weeks? Service reps show up on a timely basis but have often been clueless as to how to fix the unit.

We are so pleased with Bunn’s and Bennett!We called them to inspect some issues we were having with our brand new HVAC in our newly built home and not only did Bunn’s and Bennett fix our problems, they pointed out the cause immediately (which we will be presenting to the builder), they added other adjustments to improve the system overall, and saved us over $1,000 by getting the manufacturer to honor the warranty when our builder and extended home warranty would not help us at all. I absolutely recommend Bunn’s and Bennett and we will always use them from here on out.

We used Bunns and Bennett to replace our entire 25 year old duct work system and they did a great job! They were easy to work with and responsive to questions, knowledgeable, on time, and we thought they did a great job. They were also fairly priced. They sent several crews to do the job so they could have it done in one day and we wouldn’t be down for multiple days and we appreciated that!

A very warm Sept 5, 2020 - my son’s AC quit working .He’d already called someone to come and look at the unit . He got - what turned out to be - useless information. We were both upset . I said - Call Bunn’s and Bennett- they can be trusted . Robert came right away from Bunn’s and Bennett and checked the unit . He talked with my son and serviced the unit which is blowing cold air and working like it should . Thanks to Robert and Bunn’s and Bennett - we’re all happy and COOL !!!! Prompt and excellent Service - a Huntsville tradition !!!

We live in Madison AL and we hired the team at Bunns and Bennett to replace our 3.5 ton HVAC unit. This review could not be more positive. The guys were super cheerful and cordial and they worked very hard in hot conditions. They got tired toward the end, after assembling and disassembling both the old and new units and carrying them into the attic so another team was dispatched at no additional cost to finish up. Super friendly. We gave them plenty of water and bought the guys lunch which they loved and thanked us profusely. AND of course they did a perfect job for us removing and installing under difficult conditions. Drain lines checked etc etc etc. Excellent.

I chose American Standard because Consumer Reports ranks them #1 in reliability and I like their 5/10/12 year warranty on labor/parts/compressor. Bunn’s & Bennett is their local installation specialist. I appreciated their helpful approach from the first meeting with Scott, to their arranging financing, to the installation and getting trained on the WiFi thermostat. My system is whisper quiet and very powerful. They hauled away the 25 year old Lennox. Gene did a great job as installation foreman and Mark and Garrett worked hard too. I couldnt be more pleased.

Well like many our AC went out on one of the hottest weeks this summer (2016) a Thursday to be exact had another contractor add Freon to the old 17 year on system and that lasted a day R22 -$540, anyway I called around to find help because it was clear we were going to buy a new unit in a hurry I knew already what i wanted after some research time sitting in my hot hot living room I had been speaking with Scott at BB and had two other contractors competing on price and timely install so BB delivered my new unit and installed it on Monday after confirming that Sunday night and $500 cheaper ... it was fast and professional and it was HOT .. A+ to the installers / ground crew ... American Standard / Train you cant go wrong ... and nothing is perfect 4 starts is as high as a go

We used B&B on two installations, lots of routine maintenance, and a few trouble calls. Sadly, they visited my rental property 5+ times in a 45 day span without solving the problem (and ~$600 in repairs). Its a ~5yr old unit they installed for us. I get HVAC issues can sometimes be tricky, but with upset tenants having to take time off work multiple times -- weve lost confidence. Hopefully this is an isolated issue for them as we like the people. We are, nevertheless, taking our business elsewhere.Update: Our issue stemmed from the initial repair made my Bunns and Bennett. They replaced a piston, which caused a coolant leak. After paying them to replace the piston component ($229.72), we also paid them to troubleshoot the leak they caused ($354.84) which was never resolved. Ultimately, we ended up hiring a different company who had to replace the entire coil assembly ($700), including the piston installed by Bunns and Bennett. This was diagnosed in one visit, and replaced during a follow up visit. Seems to have fixed the problem. I spoke with Bunns and Bennett and explained my concerns. Their response was to have the tech call and apologize. While I appreciate the apology, a more appropriate response would be refunding my money -- this should have been a $250-300 repair. Instead, it cost me $1,300 in total. Getting the BBB involved.

B&B Installed a system 5 years ago and maintained the system for the previous owners before I moved into this house. I didnt continue maintenance with them, but had one prepaid maintenance with them in the fall of last year (~9-10 months ago) that the previous owner pre-purchased. The internal drain line clogged a few days ago (Not pointing fingers at them for the clog, things clog, I get that...), the clog caused an overflow from the unit itself (also fine) and then dripped outside the drain pan because it wasnt properly placed under the unit in my attic. So the water leaked directly onto the ceiling below and I have water damage in my ceiling and walls. When I called to get them to come look at it and fix it (The A/C, not the water damage), they wanted $125 to show up and diagnose the problem. When I told them I wasnt paying them for them to tell me what I already know and explained the situation (twice), they indicated they wouldnt come out on their dime...at which point I said fine, Ill take my business elsewhere and posted negative reviews online. Only then did I get a call back indicating they would come and look at it. B&B indicated that since they didnt maintain the system any longer, anybody could have bumped it and moved it...fine, but they were the last ones in my attic. The attic is above the second floor and isnt used for storage so there is no reason to be up there and the pan is fixed in place so that you have to want to move it. A simple misguided nudge isnt going to move the pan 3 inches. I still contend it wasnt installed properly. They said the previous owners didnt have a problem and that the problem was the drain line not being properly maintained...but I contend the drain pan is there to prevent water damage to my house and take the water outside. The unit should cut off, but instead of cutting off, the external drain pan never filled and the unit continued to leak outside the drain pan until I could visibly see the water damage. At that point I told them lets agree to disagree and I already didnt want to go forward with them. I told them Id remove the review (which I did) until I had a professional look at it and paid another contractor to come out and diagnose the issue. The other contractor indicated the pan wasnt in the right place and moved the pan 3 inches so that it covered the whole unit. Problem solved for $70. I get you cant come out for free to every yahoo that calls you, but I know I would never be able to get them to cover the water damage, all I wanted was for them to admit it was installed incorrectly and fix the issue. So they say they cant warranty labor they did 5 years ago and anybody could have moved it...fine. I gave them one shot with my first two phone calls, after that I didnt give them another to come out and look at it in person, so take this review for what it is. I feel Ive represented all the facts here. Ill let you decide for yourself after reading the review. They seem to get good reviews elsewhere, so maybe they had an off day installing my system, but Ill take my business somewhere else in the future.
