I gave 1 star because...I was getting meals on wheels, and it was time to do a reassessment, but I had till the 31st... I have COPD and asthma ...and I had a respiratory infection...its very hard to breathe little loan talk.On a Monday caretaker told meals on wheels I was sick, Tuesday they brought me a rollator and I told the man I was sick..Then Thursday a lady calls and I told her Im sick, Ill do it next week Im sick. She kept on and on and I said I quit the service so she calls the cops and adult protective services...Now if you dont feel well and you cant talk cuz u have oxygen to help you breathe. They literally have no compassion and caused me to have aniexty attacks because they called the cops and adult protective services

The CEO Les is a AWESOME guy but I volunteered in 3 depts @ NAM & was treated badly. When I went to the director Karen Weekly, she retaliated on me & made ME the bad guy! They DONT value their volunteers! Find another non-profit that will appreciate you!

I have a large family. I appreciate the groceries Im able to get for them.... especially all the cakes and pastries...my kids love them. We do need help from time to time and your ministry never lets us down. We are sincerely grateful. God bless yall

I applied for assistance twice got picked the first time they said I needed to send in some paperwork never gave me time the second time they gave me the run around they stated they will call my apartments never did so my apartments called them they never return calls I’ve called soooooo many times they just ignored my voicemail I was even in there office and heard her listening to my voicemail never called back or even came out to speak with me! They pick in choose on who they actually care to help

I am trying to help a woman and her children living in a car. Called NAM and was transferred to their Family Violence line...no answer...called again and was transferred again this time to an answering service that would only talk to the victim....it really sucks to be in a situation where you are looking for help and guidance and get nothing.....shame on you NAM

I have been a client, a supporter, a volunteer, & a friend, since 2003. They saved me when I needed it most and I will forever be grateful to them for that. I adore some of the long time employees like Amy for example. She always greets me with so much love and support and I have just nothing but wonderful things to say about all of the women there.

I have tried several times to apply for Rental assistance and have had no success. I waited in line early mornings several times until the put the website up only to have trouble with that. I really needed help and still do. I understand your busy but they need more people to help and return calls. I did recieve an email only to get a link back to the website that I am having trouble with. How do I get help!!

After hurricane Harvey I volunteered and cooked for 8 households. Nam was kind enough to allow me to bring some of the families into their food pantry and also provided me with about a weeks worth of supplies. I love going to their treasures of the heart thrift shop even when I have nothing to donate and no $ to spend because the amazing staff and frequent customers.

I do hope someone from NAM responds to this since they have responded to positive reviews, but Ive yet to see them address a negative review. NAM prides itself for helping the needy in a dignified manner but ignoring negative reviews indicates they dont truly understand what that means.Resale shop - 5Food pantry - 4Trying to get an appointment for assistance during the last week or first two weeks of a month when rent assistance is needed? - 0 stars!I called got through the line on 4th attempt at 9:01AM today. Four hours later, Im still on hold despite the fact that at least three times, Ive been taken off hold long enough to hear office noise and then put right back into the queue. Ive waited an hour through their lunch hour in hope of getting someone to answer. I fail to believe that they are so incredibly busy and understaffed that no one could answer my call within the first 1.5 hours of being put on hold. Unfortunately, Im one of those with limited minutes on my phone service plan so I cant keep doing this every day. And I JUST was disconnected at 1:01PM. So having to call back in again. While I appreciate that they are there to help, I cant help but wonder if this is what the various churches had in mind when they established NAM.

NAM is a wonderful place for help and resources. When they upgraded the food pantry it was nice and more food varieties. God bless this place.

I sent all require documents and even got an email stating that a case manager would call me on a certain date and time and i waited for the call but nobody had call me instead i get another email saying to reaply because they claim they did not get information when they did not call me like they said they would.

The Best Agency in Houston tx Period! These people are wonderful people who genuinely care about families and their needs. Ive never seen so many individuals go far and beyond to help families in times of hardships, disasters, or just lending a helping hand. They really care about the wellbeing of children, women, and seniors. Everyone is friendly, and the environment stays clean.

I called to make sure they were still doing food and I could come by after I got off of work at 2 pm. I drove an hour in traffic and got there and was told they stopped giving out food at 2 pm. They offered me no help and refused to correct the problem of someone telling me that I could come by when I called after 2 pm. People are being forced to work and reducing the hours makes us no able to get resources.

A non-profit helping people is a great thing and an alternative for your donations for Goodwill & Salvation Army. Whats not good? They can have some nice finds inside the resale store also. Additionally, they often have a good selection of infant/toddler/childrens toys & clothing which we have benefitted from for our grandson. Recommend!

Can’t even help currently battling covid and have to wait to get selected on an application it is just sad people are losing there homes.

Always a wonderful experience whether i’m donating or shopping. People that work here are kind and helpful, and because they have heart for what it stands for. Prices are set to for its purpose, to provide for a person who couldn’t afford it otherwise.

This place is for a good cause! Its an awesome place to volunteer at! They assist with clothing, vouchers for varies things, emergency food, rental and utility assistance! The staff here is awesome!

The furniture and other items in the store was over price. I find Goodwill to be way more reasonable in there prices. I can also get better deals on, Offer Up than this place. Never again will I step foot into this place for them to try and sell me stuff that is far overpriced.

Very friendly and helpful associates throughout the store in North Houston. They are much more reasonable than Goodwill.

I could not get thru, need help with Rent first time, Had emergency expenses, Had HOPEBut after3 days calling and never get thru.While praying ND LOOKING for more work, I am not hopeful of their help.have to pray for an open door somewhere else.

How the heck can you schedule an appointment and the lines STAY busy! Then the operator is pointless, I just wanted to know what was needed to get rental assistant and she can’t even tell you that?! Do better please. Some people can’t afford to make blank trips to the location because they can’t get through to anyone

To hell with this place for real! You can’t even get thru on the phones. What kinda organization is this??? I called a good 45 times back to back on the 29th and couldn’t get thru. So much for needing this place when you need help. I’m giving them one star off this alone. At least with Memorial Assistance Ministries they pick up the phone and tell you what you need for an appointment smh

Everything has gone down hill since Dr.Ybarrando took over the facility. It takes for ever for them to answer phones and book appointments. they never have anything available yet when you show up the place is empty. Would not recommend to anyone.

They are very helpful, I didnt have food in my house or money to pay my rent and they used every resource they had to make sure I was able to be help. Even though they only paid a portion of my rent and I had to come up with the rest, something was better than nothing and it helped out a lot!

Love their resale shops and really love the fact that proceeds go to helping the community.

Rather disappointed in their service. We are donating a bunch of house hold items from toys, clothing, kitchenware and furniture. Since we are unsure of what they would want and not want we left everything where it is down and upstairs. They only send one guy to load all of this so of course we offer our help to load everything they want. We asked the gentleman to come upstairs and look at the items and we would bring everything out to the truck and he refused to walk up the stairs to see what we wanted to donate. Its sad because these items are great items. A full very nice train set book shelves, end tables, kids beds practically new and so much more. What a shame when people are donating nice things and they refuse to put forth the effort even grab that stuff all because of stairs. Terrible

They take forever to reply i really need help Ive been calling for days and called multiple times a day and been put on hold for more than an hour if someone can just pick up the phone i would appreciate it.

I went there this morning for help with my first month rent now I’m homeless I honestly thought this was a Christian place, but the staff is rude I was told that they didn’t have any funds and wasn’t even inform on when they would.
