I have a strong reason to think they dont want to help the people in need. They never call back or email. You have no phone to a direct person. I have been on payment pending for my tenants rental assistance for well over three months. My tenant applied for help in Feb 2021. Has been approved and no payment. I was told a ACH deposit would take 10-15 business days.Well its been well over that and no payment has been made. I dont think they want to help people with rent. I think they find ways to make it so hard that people will give up so they can use the money on something else. Giving to people in need shouldnt be this hard or take this long.

This program is tsaking forever. applied in Feb. 2021, approved July, and still havent recieved payment. i have called so many times and i get told the same thing, its approved, it takes 10-14 bussiness days, and ill send an email to our finance department. I dont recommend them at all!

I am so grateful to Catholic Charities. Patricia went out of her way to help my children and I she has such a huge heart as well as many others who work here. Alma is also a true Joy and blessing to talk to and put me in touch with someone else who would be able to help me further. They let me know about their food pantry and continue to give me ways to apply for further assistance even if they themselves cant offer it. This year is genuinely been hard on so many of us and they truly are going above and beyond at Catholic Charities to do all that they can. its so nice that even if they cant help me with exactly what I need then they still will go above and beyond to assist you in the ways that they can. My children and I are truly grateful and blessed for the kindness generosity and absolute love and compassion that you showed our family. Thank you Catholic Charities for all that you do. God Is good, All the time!!

They claim applications were selected at random for the $1500 assistance. I highly doubt that. Unfortunately, I was not selected during both rounds. Its sad when you actually work and need the help but cant get it for some reason 🤔

They are a great institution, with nice and polite workers, best place for people in need and immigrants, thanks for everything, God bless yall.

Catholic charity is a joke for rental assistance they take too long to respond to you after you fill the application out Doesn’t even give you one cent for waiting for that long than Immediately denied you not one cent in your pocket I wouldn’t be surprised if the CEO was not pocketing the money like the rest of them are Move onto the next people this church is a joke and by the way the funds are fine it the people you have working for there rude treating us like sheep and not human beings the goverment gave yall this money to help us no randely give us money Also the manager just called me and basically treat me like I’m a computer system that generates my raffle ticket to get me benefits I swear all these companies are wasting time with our money who the hell says we have to fill out anything it’s all taxpayers money our taxpayer money

Agency helps immigrants with rent and legal services

Applied for COVID relief and got denied even tho I have a son with disability and my hours at work got cut down and we’re struggling to pay bills and wife has to stay home to help my son in his school she can’t work we’re backed up on our car note and I’m afraid they will repo it any time.! Thanks a lot out of 40mil y’all got sent y’all can’t spare $1200 that will help me pay some bills a lot but I guess thanks.! God bless y’all.

They sent me one email stating I was selected for assistance..then I went down to the office to see the update and the lady said they closed your case because someone tried to contact me and didnt reach me..No one called or text..trust me I was waiting.. You would think they would have sent me a follow up email..and no one would call me back to clarify this issue..

Ive been to Catholic Charities twice and both times they said they didnt have any clothing for me..

I volunteered for Christmas charities. The regular staff were very nice. The visitors were gracious. Hope to do it again next year.My only dislike was the lack of parking. I had to park 3 blocks away. Neighborhood was a little scary.

Yea ms. Kathreine did her best to get me my first month and last month rent to move in my apt and I can say the clothes they got are great to just no men pants but they are awesome. I love my new place and I’m glad that they could help me.

I have dealt with these people for almost 5 years and all of a sudden they drop my case unannounced. I got left to find and seek my own help. At least a phone call would of been nice all I got is a letter of disappointment.. I tried reaching out recently but the number doesn’t work and says it’s disconnected. It was good while it lasted

This wonderful place was sent by God 2 me 36 yrs ago when I was an unwed mother 2 be. These people provided loving care 2 me & my unborn daughter & she was properly adopted. I will forever be grateful 4 their help.

We started at a residency workshop last Oct. 2014 and just this last week Feb. 2015 (4 months later!) our family has been blessed with getting a residency status. They don’t answer the phone, it’s been more than a week & no feedback yet.Pretty disappointing.

In general catholic charities, in my opinion, is horrible. I have been to a few in other states to seek needs and every time I have gotten we cant help you, call 211. Without fail! So my question is, what do they actually help with? Disrespectful, uncaring, and stuck up, in my opinion. I will never go here again!

They tried there best to help but not really now that I think of it. They kind of mocked the entire reason why I was there. Very hard to get in touch with and do not give out the right information. I suggest you ask for other peoples opinions, and go in person and set up a appointment to get any kind of answers. Good luck with phone calls.

I went there, because of my situation I needed to get my case taken care as soon as possible. I was referred to another organization.I am happy organizations work with each other in order to service the community

I feel mad that i called to ask for classes to learn how to speak Latino, but nobody helped me. Does somebody knows if it is similar to Spanish? Where could i find latino classes?😢

I could not get what I want but the receptionist was very nice.

I called them several times and kept being transferred to an answering machine that had no more room for messages. When I called a third time I was transferred to another answering machine that said they would return on a date which was three weeks earlier. It said to leave a message and my call would be returned. I left a message but never received a call back.

Its a shame that an organization with great goals has communication problems. I went twice to volunteer for a Christmas activity, and both times they told us they didnt need us, even after sending emails asking for our help. We had to drive all the way to get there, and this incident happened twice. I hope they will improve.

I have been calling Catholic Charities since I was diagnosed with Cancer over 4 months ago, I left a few messages no return phone call from them, I also called because I needed assistance after the Hurricane here in Houston and once again no phone calls from them.I have continuously called and left messages and asked them to please help, because of my chemo and medications I am no longer allowed to work or drive.Till this day I have not received a call from them, at least I would’ve appreciated a call just to let me know they can’t assist for whatever reasons.I’ve heard wonderful things from my Dr’s, Social Worker, other Organizations and individuals about Catholic Charities. I told them what had happened and sadly they regretted even having mentioned them to me.I have placed photos of the Apartment and one of the Tumors I have that is visual and incase anyone wonders I have total of 6.Many Blessings to All

Worst place ever..called a dozen times.. They NEVER ever return calls. They are evil that they dont respond to people in desperate need. Dont bother calling for anything. Youll be dead before you get a response.

One year for Christmas they scheduled for me to pick up gifts for my children and we stood in line for 2 in a half hours all for them to tell us we were not on the list my kids were crying and they showed no remorse.

They have blessed me with so much help Thank You!!!!! Caring and very helpful place.

I understand what they do is charity work, but that doesnt give them the right to be rude and disrespectful to the people that go to them for help. I talk to this lady on the phone about immigration appointments, and got yelled at to listen right! for asking her to repeat the very vague information she gave me. If they really want to help people, start by treating them right.

RIDICULOUS . I have been trying to set up an appointment to attend one of the immigration charlas for 3 months! This is a requirement before talking to any of their lawyers. Their website states you must register before attending yet every time I call they tell me that I was suppose to call the first Monday of every month or NO ONE ANSWERS. Call any other Monday and they will tell you that you miss the deadline, you either needed to call the Monday before or the Monday after- and when you do they tell you to call back the first Monday...

I was there for more than a year, a social worker discriminated against me a lot, I was only 16 years old at that time 2007, I was deported for mistakes in my case intentional errors by a social worker, hopefully justice will be done one day ...

Good afternoon, I cannot give my opinion of the place, but I have a family member who received political asylum and I go to them to support him with the benefits that are granted for his case and unfortunately everything has been very cumbersome, he calls them by phone and They do not answer, he is stuck in a quagmire and sees no solution to his case.

The people who attended me did it in a pedantic selfless way they did not let me speak or explain my case they told me that they did not attend adults with migration cuts. Hopefully God takes care of them were 2 women who answered me and in the worst way I think they should not work in charitable places because they do not have the kindness or ability to help those who need it.

I am very grateful to this day for the help and for the team of professionals who hopefully exist for life because there is always someone out there who needs the charity you provide and without charging a penny thank you very much.
