We just signed a lease through Texas Renters. I have only to compare them to our current apartment complex. This company answered many questions and when they did not know the answer, they did the research to find it. The lease itself is exemplary and all papers covered all the basis. Heading to their office to give our cashiers check was pretty far for us but we were met and taken care of immediately. Loved meeting Alex Chavez. RENTERS BEWARE! This company is a SCAM!I am a former renter. When I moved into the property we noticed many little issues here and there such as patchy paint, dirty carpet, some scratches on the walls but the major problem was the black mold in the washer. We indicated all the issues on our move in sheet but no one every came to fix the mold in the washer. We reached out to Texas Renters about it and they tried to say that the mold was not their problem and we were responsible for fixing it. After going back and forth with them numerous times, they ultimately repeatedly failed to keep a healthy and safe dwelling by avoiding the issue. Now that my lease is up and I have moved out, they are trying to keep the whole deposit for everything that was an issue when we moved in. They are even trying to charge for things that are considered normal wear and tear. When I addressed the issues with Diana, she tried to lie to me and tell me that normal wear and tear only comes into effect after youve rented for 3 years. I told her that no where in the state law does it say that and I told her that something needed to be done to fix the amount of the deposit and she said nothing was going to be fixed. I told her that obviously something needed to be done because I am not going to pay for things that were a problem before I moved in. I have never heard back from her and she refuses to return my phone calls or emails.Overall this company is terrible and they are not concerned with ethics in the least bit. They are running a scam.*UPDATE*Whoever the person was that responded to my review obviously took ZERO time or effort to look into the situation. I have already contacted this office NUMEROUS times to get this resolved. I moved out of that property in March and Im still dealing with this company because they simply DO NOT DO THEIR JOBS. If anyone there did their job effectively this would have been resolved after I sent a list of the things that were wrongfully charged. If the person who responded to this took any amount of time to actually look into the problem they would have seen that this has been an ongoing issue and I have been waiting WEEKS for an update on their end.I also love how that person acknowledged that they are knowingly and completely ok with their tenants living in unsafe conditions. Considering that the black mold was in the washer when we moved in makes me believe that they charged the previous tenants for it too when they moved out. Like I said, this place is a scam.
I want to share my experience with Alex Chavez....He is always responsive, he takes are of any questions or concerns I have, he also goes way beyond the call of his job to handle needs. I appreciate him on so many levels. He makes renting peaceful! Thank you for having such an honorable employee who I can count on when needed!
This has been the poorest treatment I have ever received from any property management company. Our lease began on July 1st, 2021 and my wife and I were denied an opportunity to prorate our move-in (give them more of our money) by even a day so that our belongings were not sitting in the moving truck over night on the grounds that the unit needed to be made ready following the departure of the previous tenants which had taken place 2 weeks prior. This would have been understandable if the unit had been made ready in any way, shape, or form. However, upon our move in, the condition of the unit was not only unacceptable, it was an unlivable health hazard. There were dead bugs, grime, hair, and dust EVERYWHERE. Our lease agreement states that they are required to have professional cleaners come in and clean the unit. This clearly did not take place. Additionally, there is only a single half-working smoke alarm in the entire 4 bedroom house. Not only is TexasRenters.com LLC currently breaching the lease agreement we signed by not having the unit cleaned and breaking Texas state law by not providing our unit with working smoke detectors but on top of all of that, contact with the staff at TexasRenters.com LLC has been sparse and sporadic at best. I have made over 20 phone calls to the Client Service line and not once has any one picked up. A very small handful of the messages Ive left have been returned but absolutely no action has been taken to make things right in almost a month. We did however receive an email with a link to leave this review and a bribe of $25 amazon gift card per good review we would leave. We are preparing to take legal action to have our renters rights enforced. Attached youll see some of the photos from our move in and the horribly disgusting state of the home after TexasRenters.com LLC had two full weeks to make it ready. Included are 12 pictures of the over 260 that I took as part of the tenant inventory form because I didnt want TexasRenters.com LLC to accuse us of any of the filth or damage the unit had clearly sustained. You will see heavy coatings of hair, dust, grease, black mold, and human waste. Also some sort of nasty cocktail that was left for who knows how long in the sink leaving a sour, rancid smell in the whole house.I will consider editing this review if someone will simply contact me but I have no expectation of that happening. If youre a vendor, dont do business with them. If youre a renter, find another property managed by literally anyone else. Ms. Diana, the owner, and the staff should be ashamed of the poor quality service and conduct the have clearly represented. Anyone wishing to see the rest of the photos, feel free to contact me.EDIT: 7/27/2021 at 8:48 p.m.In response to the Reply from the owner, there are far more issues than the unit not being clean, chief of which is not being able to get a simple phone call or e-mail to address ANY of the concerns. In regards to the cleaning, the issue is not that the cleaners need to come back, it is that they have never been here nor have they had contact with us at all. It was mentioned that all service requests need to be submitted through the resident portal, however, it also states that there is a $75 charge for all service requests and re-inspections if someone has to come out to the property. Despite the condition of the home and our other grievances being well documented via e-mail and voicemail, I have now submitted a small handful of service requests but we certainly will not be charged a $75 fee to address the conditions outlined in the lease document. Furthermore, if no action can be taken to address TexasRenters and the property owners breach of contract and disregard for penal code despite a dozen voicemails and half a dozen e-mails as well as 260+ photos and a highly detailed Inventory form, then perhaps a little communication via a returned phone call or e-mail to communicate that fact would have been appropriate. What a horrible business model.
Very bad service no words for how rude and lazy they are. A waist of time and money receptionist is over sea and not helpful at all. You have to reach out several times before getting a response

Believe the negative reviews. The positives are elicited by gift card and definitely not at moveout... I have A+ credit and no late fees never had this type of experience with a landlord. Worst experience was with move-out just like all the other reviewers. The last finger in the eye was refusing to do move out walk through and keeping much of the deposit over wear and tear not listed on move out check list but categorized as failure to maintain . Don’t rent from texasrenter if you want all your deposit back. They abusing the name of TEXAS. You will be disappointed and made mad. The pictures i included show the condition of my house after they took pictures for Har.com before I moved out and I had the house cleaned, touch up paint and carpet cleaned twice but yet they kept almost half my deposit. After almost 2 months I had to call about my deposit. Thanks to Alex I finally got it almost 2 months after moveout.To make extra money they started charging $10 a month for a/c filters they hardly delivered. They also charged $150 for a mandatory short term lease on top of $100 extra when I went month to month. $75 every time I called them for maintenance so I started to fix stuff myself when I could. Be aware and go elsewhere to avoid a future headache.
As first time renters, me and my fiancé were sort of treading new waters. Our realtor directed us to TexasRenters for a home we liked and they were very helpful and quick to respond at every question. We definitely would recommend for any first time renters!
Run from this place.You WILL NOT get your security deposit back. Read the reviews. The ones about their MO with not returning the amount due and the way they make their money.Go check out their rating on Better Business Bureau. They cant bribe people over there.....not accredited. Not surprising. One out of 5 stars.They bribe new tenants w a $25 gift card at the beginning of their lease to do a good Google review for them that’s the only reason they’ve got the star rating they do. This people will be sad when it’s time to move out that they wasted their opportunity to shed light on the way these guys do business. Notice most of the reviews are from new tenants. Not a coincidence.They expected to be able to repaint the home after I lived there for two years on my dime and withheld $1500 of the deposit due me. The house was immaculate when I left. They will also charge you $75 anytime an appliance needs repair. Also not responsive to issues that arise. Cannot believe these guys are still in business. Pretty sure a class action lawsuit could be appropriate for the way they do business.

They were very professional and answered all my questions. If I sent Clarissa an email asking any question, she got back to me very quickly. When it came to the application, it was a smooth process. They sell reviews for Amazon gift cards which is illegal according to the FTC. Don’t be fooled. About a year and a half ago they had fewer than 2 stars on Google. That actually reflects the quality of service they provide.
I have been a tenant with Texas Renters for over 3 years. Very professional and timely with repairs! Love the easy tenant portal where I can access information quickly and put in repairs requests fast! Recently, the oven went out in my house and there were issues with the delivery date being rescheduled several times for a new oven. Well, Lorraine- awesome property manager- kept me up to date of any changes and even complained on our behalf and we literally got a new oven a few days later! They are definitely tenant oriented! Highly recommend!!!

Rod and the maintenance team were mazing with the maintenance (Meld) process! They helped me right away with a heating issue, fixed my tenant portal log-in, walked me through how to create a Meld ticket and had someone at my property 2 hours later! In addition, the company that was assigned was fast, efficient, respectful of the issues and educated me on the HVAC, power and specifics of the issue. Ok - things happen and I have had good experiences with attention to my needs - during the great freeze a texasrenters tech responded to a water issue when no others could and recently one if their vendors address a failure in the garage door drive belt / parts today are hard to come by but their vendor did a great job, on snd out quickly. Biggest issue on Texasrenters or anything in general is communications and clear descriptions of your need - have had good experiences.
These ppl only care about themselves. I am renting a home which has had issues since day 1. They are suppose to get homes ready for a safe and clean environment for their renters but yet I am left in a mold infested home which me and my family have to endure. Ive reached out several times and they ignore it. And thats just the tip of the iceberg. These ppl only care if ur rent is paid on time. I would never recommend using these ppl for anything. Very careless and heartless!!!
I personally recently had a great experience with Texas Renters. They have been very cooperative with me, understanding, and extremely responsive. My garbage disposal in my kitchen sink went out the other day. I put in a maintenance request that same night and had a scheduled appointment by the next morning. I was helped out by Charm and she was very helpful with any questions and concerns of mine. It was great! It’s an a great feeling to know I can count on my property managers for anything.
Great customer service is a MUST! I have never called customer service and been treated disrespectfully or in a negative way. They are always nice and professional. If they dont have the answer at that moment, I can rest assured that they will call back with the answer for me. In 3 yrs I can honestly say that renting this property through TR was a great choice for us!
Heat and air system tripped due to faulty wiring. Called Texas Renters and they had someone out the next day who rewired the unit correctly. I havent had a problem since.They are good when responding to something about the owners home. When it comes to taking care of tenant matters they are horrible. The staff are very unprofessional on the phone. You pay for an ac filter service that they do not follow through on. If you owe them money they want it promptly. As it should be. When they owe you money for not providing a service per contractual agreement they drag their feet. Who is the owner of the company?

This company is TRASH,HORRIBLE. I moved in 2 moths ago, so many things was not working in the house, they want me to pay $75 to have maintenance come to fix issues that was previously there prior to me moving in. i called the maintenance department them 6 times to discus this situation i left 2 voicemail with 2 different individuals and left 4 voicemail on their system they are yet to call me back. This is an absolutely terrible company to rent through. Calls to “property managers” or supervisors go unanswered and are never responded to. I recommend anyone with a problem with this company get in touch with the Texas Real Estate Commission instead of playing a fruitless game of round robin with these people. The departments do not communicate with each other effectively. Texas Renters requires a $10/month surcharge for ac filters which are only delivered quarterly. They will schedule a drop off date for these filters and simply not show up. When you ask about it, no answer. When you ask again, it’s the vendor’s fault. I went for almost six months last year with no filters. My home is equipped with two ac intakes, and Texas Renters was only delivering one filter, incorrect size, and never on time. It took me requesting that a property manager accompany the homeowner on an inspection for them get their act together on the filters, or so I thought.Two weeks ago, I was enjoying a visit from my brother and his wife and got a knock on the door from an inspector from Texas Renters. This was not a scheduled visit. Although I’m aware that they ‘technically’ CAN make unscheduled visits to homes, the contract explicitly states that they will make reasonable efforts to contact the tenants before an inspection. No contact was even attempted. I allowed the inspector in, having to wake up everyone in the house. I called Texas Renters upon his departure and they told me he was scheduled to come out but I was never notified. I asked to have another inspection scheduled when I could make rooms presentable for pictures, and they said they would. I still do not have a new inspection date.A couple days later, I received a message on the maintenance portal saying that filters were to be delivered on February 12th. No filters arrived, again. When I contacted Texas Renters, it was of course the vendor’s fault, and filters ‘should be delivered’ the following Monday. They were not. Here it is a week later....still no filters.During the recent storm, the riser for the sprinkler system ruptured and I placed a maintenance request on property meld. The message was answered quickly and I was given a few options which I wanted quoted before I made a decision. Texas Renters assigned my ticket out to a contractor who was supposed to arrive on Friday between 8-12 and call 30 minutes prior to arrival. They didn’t show up or call. At 2 pm (2 hours late), I received a call not from a technician, but from the dispatcher, who was in front of my house. Being that they didn’t show up when they were supposed to, and it was a Friday, I went to work. The backyard was not accessible because I was not home. She said she would call me later that afternoon and schedule a time to come on Saturday or Monday.... she never called. I got a message from Texas Renters yesterday stating that service was scheduled for yesterday because I WAS NOT AVAILABLE on Saturday and that I needed to call the contractor and coordinate a time for them to come‽‽ What? Texas Renters.... that is literally your job. Not my job to contact your contractors and coordinate new times with them because they didn’t show up when they were supposed to and didn’t even bother giving a courtesy call.These issues have been routine since day one; things not being done when they’re supposed to, no communication, no courtesy phone calls, the sheer audacity of wasting your tenants’ time with absolutely no sense of professional courtesy. I had threatened a complaint with the TRC before, but rest assured now I will absolutely be filling a complaint with them and recommend that everyone else do the same. Since, contractually, I’m not allowed to contact the owner and let them know exactly how Texas Renters is “managing” their property, I’m curious to see if they develop a sense of urgency with the Commission on their coattails. I have a complete record of every phone call, email, and portal request I’ve attempted with Texas Renters and will be submitting them to the Commission for their review.

My family has had nothing but great service with TR! I am extremely grateful for their responsiveness. I went in to prepare breakfast 2 days ago and turned on the stove and it turned completely off. I tried everything to get it to come back on. I logged on to the resident portal to put in a work order. I heard from them within 2 hours! They had assigned me with a technician already and by lunch time I had a scheduled time to meet him. The tech met me at my home and I had dinner for my family by 7pm!
AC went out and it was fixed the same day! Great service!

I have been very satisfied with this rental company. At first I was overwhelmed by the amount of information that they were requiring in order to process the lease, but I guess they are looking for responsible tenants and have a set process. The house was super clean when we moved it and has been well taken care of. The company was very responsive to any repairs that needed done.

The application process was easy and can be done online. Communication was good. Being it was my first time renting a house, I had several questions as to what was my responsibility vs the landlord and things I needed to get done. It’s different than being in an apartment but all my questions and emails were replied to in a timely manner. I was provided a copy of every verification form submitted to kept me in the know of what was good on. Very easy an efficient process.
Great Professional Customer Service Support: I had a question and a concern, I called the office, Manuel Garcia answered my call, took all my information with great patience, said he will look into right away and follow up with me. He return my call in a short time with all information and explained whom he talk to and what was said. All my questions and concerns were answered. I really appreciate the rapid follow up from Manuel, enjoyed talking to him, he provided great customer service and great support.
Im a realtor and found a spot for my clients in one of their properties. When I mentioned I hadnt received my commission, they drove same day to hand deliver the check. WORST COMPANY TO RENT FROM! absolute worst renters company i have ever dealt with. They do not answer phone, and if they do it’s a “hotline” that can not even help you with anything you need regarding anything other than a repair. You leave multiple messages/emails and they do not reply back to you. I have been trying to contact client relations since DECEMBER and have yet to hear anything back. Their “assistants” a male in particular has absolutely no issue hanging up on you in the middle of a phone call. They too also say they can not help you with anything it must be a supervisor. Well supervisors tend to not answer their voicemail box or emails as well. At first the company starts off great, easy move in process. Anything past that is fighting tooth snd nail.
Very responsive and detailed. The staff is friendly and they ensure a smooth process for all parties involved.
Texas Renters has been very professional and responsive which is important in the leasing industry. Every maintenance issue has been timely dealt with. As soon as I submit an issue Zhara responds in less than 24hrs and someone is scheduled to come out. My experience has been great and very stress free!
Full disclosure—I do not rent from this company and never have. I have friends that do however and they have refused to fix damage caused by the recent Texas winter storm, even though the property is unlivable, and have used the emergency to rip off tenants. They are shady af and not decent or trustworthy.They also apparently will charge renters fees for leaving unflattering reviews. Do not rent from this company.
I give Every client 100% of all my efforts! Im certainly not a Realtor that looks at compensation for me. I always put my client first. Pretty SAD to find out this company pays its buyers Realtor almost half of what other brokers pay. I still work the same, not sure why they have the right to cut my paycheck. I will Pray from now on that my client chooses a different broker.Otherwise, took a bit too long for my client to hear from the broker and I wasnt included in any correspondence prior to them being accepted. My client wasnt very impressed with that either.Also thought it against the law to offer $$ for reviews....I will not be asking for my $25 Thank you anyway!

This company is terrible! Anytime I call I can never get someone to answer a phone or even get a call back for that matter! Do not recommend at all!!

Lorraine and Zahara were very diligent in helping to get our plumbing issue fixed. They were very understanding and sympathetic to our situation and communicated very well. They also provided excellent service contractors who were courteous and professional.
The office staff has been very responsive when I’ve had an issue at the property. I most recently had to have the dishwasher repaired. The service technician TX Renters uses was great. He had to order a part but came back when he said he would and completed the repairs in a timely fashion.
Texas Renters is so professional and quick to respond. Zhara helped me with an issue I had at my rental house and it was fixed in a day - I thought it would take longer. I’ve rented a lot of houses and I prefer renting from Texas Renters. Quick to respond to issues but also give more space (better than a private landlord!)
