I went to this store many years ago for dog food, my dog was a very picky eater and we found him something he liked here. I went just for the dog food and never looked around at the place and I drive pass it all the time. After all this rain, my plants took a beating and plenty of new pests were eating all my plants. After careful reading, I found a product to solve all my problems, only problem was i could not find it anywhere. Walmart, Home Depot, Lowes, where do I go next. I was about to go home and order on Amazon, when I said, somewhere in Houston they have this stuff!!! Sitting in the Home Depot parking lot on 610 South Loop, i had a total recall of Southwest Fertilizer!! So off I went, I had no idea how cool this place is, they have Everything for your garden!! I found what I needed the second I walked in the door and I spoke to Josh, this dude knows all there is to know about everything he sells and every problem you may be having with your lawn and garden, hes got a solution,! Pet accessories, tools, they have everything. I love this store, I wondered around and found so many things I didnt need but wanted! Also I found a cute gray kitty cat next to the sprinklers, just snoozing away. If youve had it with plant consuming worms and pests, this place can help you find the stuff to get rid of it. If you think your green thumb is on vacation, there is a return ticket at Southwest Fertilizer! Peace out! Stay safe!

Very good prices and excellent customer service. I was impressed at all of the young folks working and eager to serve all of the customers. I also heard the employees giving great advice for successful planting. It was worth the 42 miles l drove to come here after a recommendation.

They have just about everything you need for pest management and plant & vegetable fertilizer. Good seed selection for birds and veggies too! 😋

Prices for parts at the repair shop are great but they tend to be unreliable when it comes the time frames for repairs. They usually go beyond the estimated time frame. They are a small shop. They usually have the basic parts in stock but mosts parts almost always have to be ordered. If you are willing to wait then do business here because the prices help make up for the time that will pass. If you are in a hurry then go elsewhere. It’s not the best but it’s certainly not the worst.

This review is for echo service area. Came twice to honor the warranty for 2 faulty echo batteries. Guy was rude, unprofessional and very uncooperative. He tried to do everything but not help. Echo itself tried to do everything in order not to honor their warranty. They told me to give away my batteries, charger and tool in order to test the batteries! How am I supposed to work? They should learn from Milwaukee service center which is way better organized. Echo has worst customer service in USA. Disgraceful.

GARDENERS, they have a huge selection of plants, bulk seeds and trellises for great prices!! The crew always helps loads compost/soil into my car without me asking. My garden is beautiful thanks to this store!

First tim visit. Went there looking forilkwood as our very hungry monarch caterpillars ate it to the stem!🦋🐛🦋They were sold out along with the other 3 garden centers I checked out. However they were extremely nice and referred me to 2 other nurseries (competitors) Gave me step by step directions to bypass 610They gave a huge seed collection...loose and by the packet. Provide free veggie planting guides & mini farmers almanacs. Huge selection of garden supplies & materials for both personal & professional. Every single employee and manager were friendly, patient, polite and polite. Five stars for customer service. Four stars bc live plant section tiny.

This is à helpful and knowledgeable bunch. I came for Orchid supplies and, no, they do not have Orchideata (à specialized bark) but I got other needed garden supplies. Astounding number of fertilizers and insecticides. Seeds galore. A bustling place.

Wide variety of traditional and organic products and knowledgeable personnel to advise on advantages and disadvantages of each product. Sales person went online to answer specific questions I had about a product, and searched for the least expensive options for me. He took time to listen and consider my needs. All the staff are service-minded. Wonderful! And they are basically the same price as the mega stores.

Dont buy power tools there as if you come back for a warranty claim they will tell you why dont you go somewhere else for the warranty, why us. Dont waste you time here. Service like in 3rd world county.

I’ve seen how this place treats it’s employees and it does not make me happy. In fact it makes lose a little hope in humanity. The most unprofessional manager; Josh, from what I saw, apparently likes to yell at his workers, especially under these stressful times. If you want to work here from what I’ve seen I suggest you don’t until these people learn how to not raise their voice at minimum wage ESSENTIAL workers.

Great products, easy in and out

Amazing workers and are eager to help. They will help you get your perfect garden, yard, or backyard. They have a huge selection and are open at the most convenient times. They also have an amazing honey with cinnamon that tastes amazing. The people are amazing and will load everything into your car and give you a tarp so you won’t get your car dirty. It is my go to place for gardening materials.

They have some good nutes and soil like happy frog. If they sold megacrop it would be the only store I need.

Staff here is very helpful and I found what I need to prepare for my fall garden.

One of my favorite places for gardening supplies and advice. The title is not that appealing and the storefront isnt fantastic but these guys have some really great stuff for the yard and garden. I bought 14 tomatoes plants and a dozen peppers all the peppers were different varieties. They have all sorts of additives for the garden, seeds of all sorts and great advice. Ive bent using that store for 20 years and hope to be back for another 20.

I have been a customer of Southwest Fertilizer for 20 years! I depend on their knowledge and customer service. Today the store was totally devoid of customers. Naturally I expected someone to, at the very least, offer assistance. Boy was I wrong! No less than 4+ employees were standing around talking plus a manager who appeared to be oblivious of the escalating situation. It was an effort on the part of the employees to pry themselves away from their conversations. The details of my experience is not important. My hope is for them to fully understand that without satisfied, repeat customers there is no need for employees. Unfortunately it only takes a few bad employees to ruin Southwest Fertilizers fine reputation.

My 18 year old echo stick edger started giving me trouble a few weeks ago. Took it to Southwest Fertilizer. They called a few days later. Several problems to include a slightly scored piston that I could probably live with for a while. Seems to run as good as new now. I dont know of many dealers like this. $69! A new one is about $400. Good place.

I enjoyed this store. Not really into fertilizer. It just doesnt do it for me. They had plants and birdseed and stuff. I even found a mouse assassination device. The mouse sticks its little head in and a little tiny rubber band shoots around its neck choking it to death. There is no escape! It was kind of disturbing. Can you image little mice dead all around wearing little death necklaces? You can get these at this place.

I was driving by and saw the store on Bissonnet and decided to walk in. Rude staff. I couldnt get any help. I walked to the register and asked for help and they pretend I was not there. I finally got 1 out of the 5 employees there to help. He was rude and wasnt much help at all. He hurried back to hang out with the register girls instead of try to help me choose the better product. They have plenty of good product available. If only they had at least 1 person there that can help no matter who it is. There are plenty of stores that sell the same products with very helpful staff (Plants for all Seasons) for example. Dont waste your time here unless you dont mind getting treat as if your not welcome.

I go here to buy Happy Frog and Oceana Forrest. At first the Fox Farm Ocean Forrest kept having springtails fresh out of the bag. I bought it 3 different times and each time they had springtails in them. I put them under a scope. They have since moved the bags to be stored inside and so far I have not had the problem. These guys carry the bag to the car for you. They are just awesome. I would give 5 stars but the springtails in the soil kinda took away.

This place has it all. Way more than fertilizer, tools and equipment and chemicals and wild bird seed and soil add ons. Everyone is very nice and friendly. Knowledgeable about many things that grow.

The Customer service was great. Good first impression. I will continue to purchase victors dog food here.
