Years ago my grandfather bought antiques here and he got my dad into going here for gun auctions. Later I moved back to Houston and my dad got me into attending auctions. Then I took my adult daughter and she also buys at their auctions. That is four generations that give them five stars. Not only have I bought here but I sold items here a few times. They were fair and got good prices on the merchandise they sold for me.I got some really good deals here on things we won on auction. Yes they explain cost, fees and rules before each auction.I saw other reviews that said prices were high. This is an auction so Websters doesnt set a price. That is not how auctions work as bidders set the price they will pay. If another bidder is willing to pay more for an item than you then stop bidding. Dont get caught up in the excitement and overbid. Then later have buyers remorse and blame the auction house. That is just not right.

Just like any auction, be careful what you were buying and know its value before bidding on it. There are a lot of items that go through here extremely cheap! If you are not careful, you can also end up paying over retail for some items. I have only been here a few times at this point but I have already seen something that sells for $5, 000 (on Craigslist/eBay) sell for under $100! I have also seen something that sells for $50 go for $500!I recommend sitting back and watching how the process works for a while before you jump in and bid on anything. Some items are sold individually, some are sold as a group with one price for everything, and some are sold as a group yet priced individually. Example: assume they are selling 20 cordless drills with batteries, they ask for bids on a single unit and if you win, you get to pick as many as you want at that price each. I have seen people bid extremely high because they did not understand the process properly and assumed they were buying all of the items for that price.Keep in mind the auction also charges a percentage fee on everything they sell. You will also be responsible for sales tax if you do not have a tax ID number on file with them. These two additional fees can drastically change price point of an item.Overall, the staff is fun, engaging, and very friendly! I do not hesitate to recommend this place to anybody.

Friendly and helpful staff, usually good items up for auction. Just need to be more efficient at auctioning in regards to time spent.

My husband and I enjoy looking for unique activities to do with our kids. We went to Webster’s Auction Palace not really knowing what to expect. We were in for a real treat. The auction included a wide variety of items the entire family was interested in. My hubby was eyeing the guns, there were stunning pieces of jewelry for Me and electronics for our teenager. My daughter was itching to raise our bidder card on our queue. The auction house itself is like a little slice of Americana. It is evident that the family takes great pride in the business they have built. There were pictures on the wall from years gone by that told a story of the power of good old American ingenuity. The auction house was packed and the people were ready to bid. My daughter and I loved hearing the rhythmic sounds of the auction caller. The bidding itself was incredibly exciting. Mr. Webster keeps the atmosphere upbeat with his lighthearted jokes sprinkled throughout the auction. I was thankful they had a concession stand because my husband and kids never travel without their appetites. You could tell some of the bidders are loyal regulars which is the hallmark of a thriving business. Now that we have done a dry run, my husband and I agreed we would definitely return in the very near future.

You say no minimum bids then you wont take a bid? What gives? Now that said, Ive come to this auction for many years. Had good and bad times, met many nice people. Bought many nice things, and perhaps a few not so nice, like forgeries... but hey, its clearly buyer beware. You take your chances with auctions. Ate a hotdogs or 2.... dozen in my time. Ill keep coming back. But one word of advice, dont say no minimum bids then refuse one and say id rather burn it in the trash heap outside then sell for that price.

The auction is very disorganized and the items i have purchased where not best of quality from an auction perspective. I would like to see the the owner with a more positive attitude and lay off the corny jokes...And sell better food rather than that junk refried looking menu you have. Lastly, fix the damnb parking lot too many potholes in the dirt and dust everywhere.
