I was in Houston for a summer-long internship and needed a place to stay that was furnished and walking distance from work. This place has been ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! All the staff have been so kind and helpful from beginning to end. Even when I was making beginner mistakes, they have been more understanding and merciful than I would expect from a friend. Like above and beyond stellar service and a very nice apartment for a relatively lower rate for the area. Could not ask for more.
The new management team is great. Get things done in a timely manner, responsive and care about their residents. The manager is great. He is always available when you need him and does make you feel like he cares. Not just a business but a family. Definitely recommend.
It is 2:46am and I am now trying to go back to sleep after another session of a neighbor having a very loud violent argument with someone in their apartment. I mean if is not the arguing it’s the loitering around while playing loud music in the parking lot, it’s random questionable women arguing and screaming outside with a man, or the random fire alarms going off in the early morning.It is not giving what it suppose to have gave🥴 Like I’m trying to find some humor in my decision to live here. It’s mainly the individuals who have been allowed to live here who have been my making my experience here miserable.

Although the apartment complex itself could use some improvement, I would have to say after a year of living there, I am 100% satisfied with the customer service and sincerity that Christian Marin displayed when it came to taking care of my girlfriend and I. He went above and beyond to make sure our needs were met and provided the utmost best customer service we could’ve asked for. Truly one of the few employees we’ve experience at an apartment complex that truly cares if the residents are satisfied or if their problems are met with solutions. Thank you Christian!

I loved this apartments, formerly known as Sola Uptown when I moved there. The apartments unit were done in contemporary style with many modern touches; great, open kitchen with grantie countertops and stainless steel appliances, wood flooring. It has air-conditioned, clean hallways, two elevators, a 7-level garage with plenty of space and easy access to your floor. The common areas are very nice and well kept, with an excellent conference room and business center with wi-fi (no public computers there, though); the complex also offer a cool private courtyard with swimming pool, grill and more; outside it has not one but two dog parks for those with canine companions. Beyond that you can walk in the neiborhood with plenty of nearby restaurants, bars, cafes and shops inlcuding River Oaks District, Highland Village, and the Galleria; theres a Target practically across the street, and a Central Market within walking distance. Also, great parks around, like the Houston Arboretum, Memorial Park, Wiess park, and Buffalo Bayou park.Before I forget, the staff is friendly and helpful, at least in my own personal experience, with the two administrations I dealt with.Not everything is perfect, and Harlow is not exception. Sometimes the common areas, elevators and stairs smell bad, mostly dogs pee or poo; I know its fault of the pet owners, still, the admin should address that. And the rents are getting expensive; the location is extremely nice and convenient, sure, but I have other goals to budget my money.Thanks for the great experience living here!
The location is top-notch if youre looking to be close to everything but in a quiet area. James, the manager, and his staff are always courteous and make communicating with them a breeze!
Came to this complex to assist my coworker with moving out of one unit into another unit. Parked on the top floor of the parking garage in Visitors parking at 3pm. By 3:15 my front passenger window was completely ripped from my vehicle and everything I owned was stolen. Clearly people were watching me arrive, get out of my vehicle, etc. Beware of your guests parking at this complex and of your surroundings if you decide to move here.
Harlow river oaks management team & leasing team has treated you so well. I love living here! I couldn’t have asked for a better place to live & be surrounded by. The architecture especially is so well crafted & I havent had any complaints about service, my contract or problems. Their customer service is impeccable & they manage issues well until their fully fixed. This is a blossoming team that deserves to grow in many aspects of this business.
My son had a Airbnb here it was nice very nice I enjoyed it I visit him we had a Airbnb a villa and we went to visit him and heres he had a birthday party and Houston I have no pictures at this time but my son is send them to me and Ill put them up later

. Its a nice modern place w/ a great pool& workout room, nice elegant lounge areas, recreational pool table,2 bars &grill. I couldnt get the wifi to work in the unit. But was equipped with everything youd need away from home ( in regards to Kasa air bnb.)
A leasing agent by the name of Christian gave me a tour, and was very helpful/knowledgeable about the property as well as all the nearby places to check out. Very nice property with all the amenities I was looking for. Planning to move to Harlow once my office is completed nearby in the next month or so. Ask for Christian!

Ever since Covid hit they let just anyone live here..so naturally it turned ghetto. The halls are never taken care of, disgusting & embarrassing when guests come. Raise the standards here, we’re not in the ghetto. Can’t wait to move out to somewhere better. ALSO ELEVATOR IS ALWAYS BROKEN!!! Why are they so cheap here??? Fix it already. 10/10 don’t recommend unless you’re nasty. Example: dog poop left for days in the picture. Disgusting
I just moved into the Harlow this month, and so far, I am extremely satisfied! Christian in the leasing office has been extremely helpful since I even expressed interest in renting at the Harlow to making sure Im comfortable in my new home. I also really appreciated their efforts to facilitate my move around COVID-19 and the associated precautions. I love my unit and my pool view! Definitely would recommend this complex to anyone I know looking to move. Thank yall!

My parents and sister stayed 4 months in a two bedroom Harlow apt in River oak district. It has an excellent location, a short distance (walkable) from Galleria, Target etc. The facilities at the property r well maintained and staff very friendly. Smiling Christen in front office and property manager Jackie were alway available to help, be it to help light up the barbecue stove at the swimming pool or help with directions etc. Great value for money, would recommend to friends.
I am very disappointed, we scheduled an IN PERSON tour today for 1:00pm, showed up about five minutes before 1:00pm and waited until 1:00pm, thinking someone would be ready to greet us... and unfortunately that did not happen. We called, no answer. So we eventually left. But no worries, because there are SEVERAL other luxury apartments in the River Oaks area that we are looking forward to touring. Unprofessional to me, to not answer the phone and we were on time to our “scheduled tour” to view the apartments.
This place is a must see and stay!! I’ve been here for a few months and I couldn’t be happier with my choice. The leasing agent, Christian has been super helpful and supportive along the whole way. He’s made my move in really smooth and enjoyable!! He’s answered all my questions and goes above and beyond for his tenants. JT, Christian & Adrianna have been doing an excellent job at handling this complex. If youre thinking of renting here, do yourself a favor and go out of your way to take the time to actually see/research the place. Ive been renting for almost 8 years now and tenants are so quick to put negativity.I had been missing an Amazon package for almost a week. One afternoon on my way to my car, Christian had stopped me in passing. He remembered me specifically and my unit and said he had seen about 3 packages in a random locker which I had never received notification of. He stopped everything he was doing and grabbed it for me right then and there. If that does not define customer service, I could not tell you what would.Cheers.

Moved into Harlow River Oaks a few days ago and my overall experience has been fairly good. The apartment layouts and amenities are great and the staff has been prompt and helpful. One key thing Ive noticed is that the grounds in general arent kept up well, and the hallway corridors have a weird smell to them. Not the fault of other residents, but its just the lack of purposeful cleaning that management has unfortunately dropped the ball on. Each hallway corridor has carpet and carpet holds odors (especially when not cleaned regularly). If the trash chutes, hallways(on all floors), elevators were purposefully cleaned on a regular basis, the complex would be a much more comfortable living environment all-around. Dont get me wrong, its not so bad that its unbearable, but it is definitely something to note of. The front office looks great, and if the rest of the building was kept as clean as the front office, Id have no complaints. Management: If youre reading this, invest more in cleaning staff, and ditch the carpet...its 2020.

Kirsten Reyes, In the leasing office went above and beyond in her customer service to ensure that I got exactly what I wanted in my new home, and was beyond patient and kind in answering all of my one million questions and concerns. She followed through In all of my requests, and made sure to keep in contact with me throughout the entire leasing process, hence why I leased the same day. We an amazing experience viewing this beautiful apartment complex especially during this difficult covid time. Kirstin Reyes was was so sweet and represented Houston in a very classy charming way. If I could give this place zero stars I would. Whats wrong with Harlow? Let me make a quick list. Had an ant breakout after a year of living there, office did nothing. Had a gate key that barely worked half the time, office did nothing. had a package stolen even though the apartment has those fancy lockers to avoid this from happening, office did nothing. Had false noise complaints and tried to express that, office did nothing. Had people running up and down the hall screaming late at night for whatever reason. Elevators never worked. Keypads to get in rarely worked. Garage and parking is a nightmare. The office workers to the hardest people to get in touch with. When I finally moved out I was charged with everything you could imagine. Even for the place wanting to remodel their counter tops, they charged me for that :) Save yourself the trouble and look elsewhere.
Me and my boyfriend applied for an apartment on Saturday 10/17/2020 was told we had to make 3 times the rent and bank statements was fine to use. This was all fine! 10/19/2020 I called to check on my application and Adrianna told me we were APPROVED! Great news, right? Until Tuesday 10/20/2020 I get a call from her saying that we dont make the income qualifications..... This honestly through me off considering you told me I was approved ! I asked what was going on. She explained saying we have to make TEN TIMES the rent using our bank statements! EXCUSE ME ???!!! Im like okay? Mind you me alone, I make averaging on bank statements almost $6,000 a month! Then to add my bf we make plenty on bank statements! So I told her that and she said they go off of the end amount we have left on the statement. So, your telling me we have to have $13,000 sitting in our bank NOT SPENT at the end of the month to show you we can afford rent that is $1,070 a month? Who has $13,000 sitting in there account every month ? So, I tried to keep my cool and asked if there was another way to show I can make rent. She told me and the assistant manager MARK to send in my tax from. I LEFT WORK to go find these documents THEY ASKED ME FOR! I get back to work to send over and they told me oh we cant use those because we only accept those documents (tax forms) the first 3 months of the year because your pay can change. EXCUSE ME?!?!?! YOU LITERALLY TOLD ME I COULD USE THEM???? We would have NEVER applied, wasted $150 on application, get our credit pulled, ect. if we knew we have to make 10x rent on bank statements at the ending cost not what is deposited. It does not say that in qualifications nor does it say they only accept taxes forms 3 months out the year! I feel scammed on this whole process and been bending backwards to try to leave here! I honestly really loved to complex, great location, everything seemed perfect! Until this all unfolded. I feel like they should of made their qualifications clear to us before we applied. If I would of known i needed $13,000 sitting in my account at the end of my statements I would have never wasted my time! It is unrealistic to have that amount. Then to ask me for tax forms knowning they were not even going to accept them? A WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY!
This is only a ranking for maintenance. Abraham is excellent and is always responsive and on time! I know I can rely on maintenance/facilities team!

Move-in was easy. Leasing agents were helpful and understanding when we had issues that came up. They were professional in handling the situation, and takes care of them as soon as possible. The apartment and amenities are beautiful!

Honestly if you can look past the difficult access, and lack of understanding of the Tennant experience the building is decent, for the most part quiet comfortable and safe. It seems like they lack the human touch from the moment you sign a lease. Before that they are sweeter than chocolate pie.Theft of packages and management not stepping up to the task have lead me to move out after 2 years.
I recently just moved in and I have to say my apartment is amazing, the community is amazing !! The leasing office was super helpful besides the sarcastic tone of a young lady I spoke with on the phone while trying to figure out where to apply, I felt rushed the whole time as if I was doing something wrong .. I gave up applying here but I gave it one more try, and I was helped by a young man with glasses ( Chris or Christian ) he was an absolute pleasure and hilarious to boot!! Super friendly and very informative ... overall a wonderful place to live so far I would definitely recommend living here at Harlow!!!Just waiting for the gym to open now (hopefully soon) seeing that other properties are allowing residents to use the gym. That is my only complaint !!!!

I have lived in this community for I think 3 years and have consistently had issues with security (which includes a break in) and the smell of mold in and out of the apartment (in the hallways). I have emailed several complaints but I dealt with all of the issues because I did enjoy my apartment. The Riveroaks location is very convenient to where I worked given the price and size of my apartment. However, recently I experienced issues with the noise below and above me. I understand living in apartment you will have to deal with noise but this was unlike any other noise that I have experienced in my entire life living at different properties. This was last straw. The tenant below me is a DJ and plays house music all day and the tenant above me moved in with 2 small kids. I had to leave my apartment early after the tenant above me threatened me. I filed a police report as I no longer felt safe. I feel as though my concerns often go unheard. Do NOT move here.
I have not moved in yet but I just wanted to write a review abouttheir customer service so far. Marquay Lucky has been amazing over the phone! Because of covid1-19 I have not been able to go view my apartment, but he went out of his way and found an old video of the Apartment that I was renting and sent me the video so I could see it! He did do a virtual video for me of the model that was super cute. He has answered all my questions and returned all my calls and emails. He has been absolutely fabulous! Its so refreshing to know that being kind, helpful and giving good customer service still exist in the world today! Especially in these trying times.
We love living at Sola. We moved in a little over a year ago and recently renewed our lease for another year. The office team is friendly and attentive to our needs. The maintenance team is also very friendly and address any requests we have quickly and professionally. It’s in a great location for everything we need, and has all the amenities we could want.
Toured here about a week ago and the staff couldnt have been nicer and more professional. Overall great experience compared to many other places in the area!

Excellent intake and gathering of information for my concerns by Mr. Luckey. Neatly dressed professional service providers utilizing proper pandemic style PPE upon entry and throughout the interactions; proper Covid 19 Pandemic closure wipe down and sanitization. Timely (on time as scheduled), well supervised and cohesively teamed electrical repair by Mr. Courtney. Knowledgable technicians who shared the location, diagnosis, and solutions for my issues. Consistent concern for my personal safety and personal items. Same day service coupled with replacement of failed parts; agreement for next day follow up verification of repairs.
Ive enjoyed my year long stay here to the fullest. I didnt have noisey neighbors, the staff was excellent and kind, the propery was clean (HUGE deal for me), parking was never an issue (for me or my guest) the location was perfect, and I loved all the amenities (especially the gym and starbucks machine). My work life was pretty choatic and I always would find myself at peace while living here. A couple points of critque: 1. Towards the end of my lease I started having a roach problem. I feel like this was more external than internal, as Ive stated, cleanliness is huge for me and I would deep clean my apartment 2/3 times a week. So the roaches were extremely off-putting and gave me a unwarrented anxiety attacks (they were huge guys). 2. With guest parking being on the 6/7th floor, I wish there was a simpler way for guest to access the gate rather then them having to wait for a patron to drive in or for me to come down (from the 5th floor might I add) to get them. Not a huge deal, since traffic flow was consistent, but it would have been nice. Other than that, I have no laments. I would have stayed longer if I could. :)

I moved in at the beginning of the year and have met a great group of people. The neighbors and people in the office are welcoming. They love animals and put a dog basket in my apartment when I moved in. I like that we have a gated garage to keep my vehicle and motorcycle covered. The gym is awesome with a lot of extra space so it doesnt stay crowded. Weve already started grilling at the pool. Ive invited my friends to move here too. Overall- great place to live, would recommend to anyone!
If I could rate this place zero stars, I would. Do you have the desire to live in a college dorm? Cool! This is the place for you! If not, please heed my warning, and stay far away from this place. The fire alarm has gone off FOUR times in the 9 months I have lived here. When did it go off, you might ask? Thats right! In the evening when most people are home relaxing, or even better, in the middle of the night when people who work 40 + hours a week are sleeping. There has been piss in the elevator, vomit in the hallway, and boxes sitting outside of peoples doors for weeks on end because people are so lazy they think creating an eyesore and hazard for everyone else on the floor is easier than taking it to a dumpster. As for the apartments, the ceilings are as thin as paper; you can hear every single step the person above you takes, every time they move their furniture, every time they drop something, etc. The walls in between apartments are not as thin (not AS thin, but still thin). In addition, the prices are too high for what you are getting, even for Houston. The location is good - just inside the loop, right by River Oaks and the Galleria. But all in all, if I could go back in time and stop myself from signing this lease, I would in a heartbeat.
Current resident, just completed my 3rd renewal, great location and even better staff!Were all human, errors happen, I was raised on the belief that its not the mistake you make but the first thing you do to correct that mistake.ANY-TIME I have had issues; the Property Manager (Vanessa) has immediately dropped everything and provided me an acceptable solution in a very timely manner.Leadership is a top-down initiative, I am confident in the future of Sola Uptown under its current leadership.
I have been living in Sola/Harlow for over a year now. Although the apartment itself is really good, the common amenities are not well cared for. I have previously had a mice infestation in my apartment which took a few months to get resolved by Sola at the time. They did give me credit back but not enough to cover my expenses with cleaning, disinfecting and also the stress plus hassle to have mice walking around your apartment at night. Now in this extremely sensitive moment with the COVID-19 and the cleaning requirements in place, once again Harlow is not taking seriously the cleanliness of the place. Elevators are rarely cleaned lately, I do not even think they were cleaned in the past month to be honest. The smell is just terrible in the elevators. The trash room in my floor is always crowded and currently the tenants are leaving the trash outside the trash room, therefore the smell is not good at all in front of my apartment as well as the possibility of having rodents come by again is terrifying. The gym is also not clean. In summary the common areas have a lot to desire, specially on the cleanliness. Right now, in my opinion when cleaning and disinfecting is extremely important to avoid COVID-19 from spreading, it does not seem to be taken seriously by the property management.The apartment itself is very nice, however common areas (except from the front area which was just recently renewed) I would not recommend. It is a shame cause this community has everything to be one of the best in town, however the lack of care for the common facilities are something are have not ever seen in any of the communities I lived before.
Great location, newly remodeled community in the heart of River Oaks. Walking distance to bars + restaurants (which could be dangerous), but I like to live on the edge - haha. Seriously, love the leasing staff and the community.

Never move here. The place is so dirty, management uses vacant units as b&b; the elevators never work, the fire alarm goes off at 4 am for no reason, and don’t forget the fact about all the shady business going on around the property.
I moved here a few months after the property opened (May 2015) and I have had a good experience so far. Every maintenance request has been promptly responded to (if during business hours, within a hour or so). The complex is in a great area and the residents in here are generally young professionals. This complex has so many specials that it would not make economic sense to move out. Finally, a shout out to the new management company because things have definitely improved!
SOLA is very responsive to work requests and understands the meaning of customer service. Things will normally wear and break, but it is comforting to know they will be repaired promptly and thoroughly. 👍

We love living at Sola! The staff is so welcoming and responsive, Kristen helped to make our move in experience easy. The location is ideal because its walking distance to shopping and restaurants. Even downtown or Galleria is a short drive. The building itself looks new and the interiors are kept up. Cleanliness and safety were a top concern and Sola has both. Our decision to stay was an easy one thanks to the wonderful staff and beautiful apartment. There was no need to look further than Sola.UPDATE - We moved out January of 2018 because crime had risen neighborhood wide. There were break ins of apartments on a more frequent basis as well as auto theft and people kept breaking the safety doors so that once someone entered the garage they had access to all of the apartments. So our rating dropped from 5 to 3 stars.
I stayed in Sola Uptown for a year and enjoyed my time there. I had to move to a different city. If there was any trouble, the staff was really helpful. Yes, my neighbor upstairs was loud sometimes but you just cant stop that. Overall, the floor plan is great with high ceiling and great common area.Most importantly, when I moved out they really worked with me and didnt charge any surprising fees. I really appreciated that because I have stayed in multiple apartment complexes and some really go after your pocket as soon as they know you are moving out.

At the Sola Uptown River Oaks apartments, the whole leasing office is incredible! However, I would like to shout out Marqua for being professional, patient and understanding to what I was looking for in an apartment. He is a person of his word. I started looking early for a new home and wasnt ready to move until a month later. He called and followed up a month later. Surprised the heck out of me! Lol Everyone, in the leasing office, is warm and inviting. Based on the leasing office I would suggest Sola Uptown to anyone looking for a new home.
Could have sworn I left a review here earlier, perhaps they took it down? Both the worst and most expensive complex I have ever lived in. The only staff I can give thanks to is Joe (maintenance). Be prepared for the constant smell of pot in the halls, piss in the elevator, and feces in the halls. For how much they talk up their security, it is definitely lacking. I left in 2017, so perhaps they have made progress, but I have my doubts.
I moved here a few weeks ago and have absolutely no complaints. Great community, nice neighbors, and very responsive management!

Absolutely terrible! I have lived here for over a year and some months. It was great when they were managed under Greystar. They took care of issued and were on top of it at all times. Ever since they switched to a new property management, its been a terrible experience. I have a neighbor upstairs that is obnoxiously loud and rude about the way she walks. I have complained numerous times and written emails and spoke with in person, yet I am still having the same issue. They do not seem to care and take their sweet time on getting back to you! I am currently fighting with them to get out of my lease! I would not recommend living here AT ALL! Its too much money to not have peace and quiet!
If you like living in town near all the great places to eat and explore, dream of a large living space for a city apartment and enjoy connecting with your neighbors at social events, Sola Uptown is the place to be!!!I have lived here with my hubby for almost 3 years and we absolutely love living here!My life revolves around creating magical moments and the service from the Sola team is impeccable! I am that creepy neighbor at the events who introduces myself to everyone then remembers everyone’s name months later while they have forgotten about meeting me. Lol! 😂 The opportunities to connect with our neighbors is pretty neat. It creates a sense of community if you dig that kinda stuff. 👏🏾Our last event was a sip and paint and Omgoodness we had a ball. I never realized I was so good at painting! 😉Come check us out if you are looking for a great place. Oh but if you move here, please please please pick up after your furry children 🐶 😊.
Very helpful, polite, and professional. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly, the maintenance staff responds right away, made sure any other needs/concerns were addressed when resolving an issue (e.g. came to fix a light and replaced the air filter as well).The office staff is very friendly and helpful - during the initial lease signing process, as well as follow up and providing information about parking/storage units etc. THEY HAVE VERY GOOD SPECIALS/PROMOTIONS for signing a lease and other bonuses - (I really appreciated the half priced storage unit special). They are also all hilarious.Good protocol for COVID-19 safety. They are the real MVPs for wearing masks and having sign in sheets/social distancing/dealing with the inital generalized complaints of the pool being closed during initial lockdown in March, waiving amenity fees as compensation, (back when people had no idea according to the updated official CDC data we really have a 99% survival rate), as well as current draconian guidelines.VERY PET FRIENDLY, they select a PET OF THE MONTH, each month and comission a painting of your dog, display it all month, then gift it to you. The dog parks are big and upkeep is good.If the Census people harass or threaten you, and repeatedly come to your door and/or ask your neighbors if you live alone, the office staff will ensure privacy/safety/American liberty is upheld in a friendly way. 5/5 stars!!!
Do not rent here. There is absolutely nothing luxurious about this place. Take a look for yourself. Customer service is not here. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. The price is not worth it. Dont sign anything. They are not nice. They want your money nothing else. The tvs have no remote. Not worth it

This place is awful, take it from someone whose lived here over 2 years! My biggest complaint would be that my AC has broken 5 times now!!! During summer! The worst was the day I came home from the hospital with my newborn baby to find out they still hadn’t fixed it even though they said it was fixed 4 days prior! New management took over less than a week ago and I hope they are better than the millcreek management. Either way I’ve had too many issues to ever consider renewing my lease!
I absolutely love this community. The staff is professional, extremely nice, and they get stuff done in a timely manner everytime. They really care about the residents and the property! Wouldnt want to live anywhere else.
My experience at Harlow River Oaks has been great! I have been here for over 4 years and not once have I’ve considered moving out of my apartment here. The leasing team Marqua & J.T. are the highlight in the office that keeps this complex together. The front office have always been extremely helpful and maintenance. Countey, thats over maintence completed my work order less within 24hours, my order was made Thurday night around 10pm he completed my order Friday morning! Thank you Courtney! I love the convenience of the stores nearby, especially target and there are many restaurants/fast food spots in the vicinity. The added security measures that does there rounds inside and outside of the building day and night makes it safe. In addition to the staff for valet trash pick up. Sola uptown has a wide variety of floor plans, perfect to fit your needs! There number one priority is to provide with the best possible level of customer service. Highly pleased resident!
Very substandard, everything takes weeks to be fixed and frankly the kids working here don’t care at all.

I just moved in to SOLA and I must say I’m in love! Oge In the leasing office went above and beyond in her customer service to ensure that I got exactly what I wanted in my new home, and was beyond patient and kind in answering all of my one million questions and concerns. She followed through In all of my requests, and made sure to keep in contact with me throughout the entire leasing process, hence why I leased the same day. I have never felt so welcomed and right at home and that is all thanks to her! Vanessa, is also amazing, and helped tremendously with making sure I could call SOLA my new home, she helped put my mind at ease with my concerns, and did whatever she could to make sure that I was taken care of. So far I see that Roscoe being the new management company has made several good improvements. The amount of resident events and small functions I think is amazing, and a great way to meet your neighbors. The grounds and amenities are well kept, the apartments themselves are very spacious, and homey. Nothing but great things so far. Thanks again to Oge ( promote her!) and to Vanessa ( Property Manager) this has been a great experience thus far.
This review is going to have a lot in common with several recent reviews.The fire alarm has indeed gone off way too many times. One user said 4 times in several months, I think it averages out closer to once every 10 days. There were alarms going off under Greystar, but it became much more common once Mill Creek took over. Why? I dont know. But when previously evacuating the building when Greystar was still managing the property, I smelled weed in the hallways. Maybe more potheads moved in at the same time Mill creek took over. Regardless, this is a big reason I decided not to renew my lease.Management: you need to take this seriously and do a real investigation into this. Nobody buys the emails you send saying it was just a non-issue or system malfunction because many of us can smell the weed when we walk through the hallways.

Moved out in July because I was moving to Oklahoma. My lease ended July 15. I had auto payments set up and it charged me for an entire months rent even though the apartment knew I was moving out when my lease ended. I have now called twice and been told my $500 check they owe me is on the way. I still have not received it. They will be getting many phone calls until they give me my money they owe me.
We lived here July 2016 through March 2017. We chose Sola primarily for the great location and nice floor plan. We ended up leaving after we were broken into, the front door had been kicked open. That day there were two break-ins, and I believe this was the beginning of what seems to now be the stretch of crime in the complex. We lived in the end apartment, with the garage access door adjacent to our door. The security lock, requiring a fob to open, had been broken for some time, despite 4-5 attempts at getting management to fix it. We had multiple instances of strangers knocking on our door, being persistent about being let in despite being asked to leave. In the end, Sola let us out of our lease without penalty due to our feelings of insecurity. Our concerns were met with understanding, but no meaningful action was ever taken, leading me to believe that these responses didnt carry weight in the end. Honestly, it was just a matter of time before crime spread to Sola - the apartment complex across the street was experiencing rampant theft, and even an armed home invasion, months before it spread to Sola. The courtesy officer faced the fact that these guys are from other parts of town, and prey on River Oaks for the perceived wealth of the area. I witnessed someone using a slim jim on a truck door early one morning, it seems that this is now common place. I would be cautious about the security when moving in here.We found the amenities to be relatively nice and well kept. We dont have a dog, so cannot speak to the dog run, but did notice that some residents let their dogs urinate or defecate in the elevators. Mgmt seemed to respond quickly in these instances. We thought the staff was pleasant and most of our work orders were answered in a timely basis. The smell of weed was noticeable some days, but these were a minority. We lived on the top floor, across the parking garage from the main building, and had a relatively quiet and peaceful place at night and in the mornings. Chances are we would not have stayed beyond our original lease though as the apartments are expensive.Overall, we enjoyed our time at Sola until the security concerns became more and more apparent. If mgmt doesnt begin to take the threat of crime seriously, more people will move on like us, or never move in to begin with
We LOVE sola!from the moment we walked in it felt like home. the apartments are beautiful (stained concrete, stainless appliances, high ceilings) and the amenities are top notch! this was the first place I looked at when moving to Houston, (and working in River Oaks) after 18 other places I came back right where I started and couldnt be happier. Everyone in the office has gone above and beyond to make my cross country move as easy as possible and 8 months later they are still continuing to show great care! all of my maintence requests are completed quickly.If youre looking for a great priced apartment with everything you could need alongside the kindest office personel this is the place for you!
