Wife and I had a blast. Got recommendations from our agent on where to visit beaches, food and shopping. My recommendations is to wear a hat and long sleeves cause the sun beat me up a bit. No complaints. Seriously thinking of making a purchase when I get back home!

Without a doubt the best thing you can do while in Oahu. If you want to make the best of this its super simple: plan your stops ahead of time, understand that youre basically on a motorcycle (no AC, no shade, no fans) so pack plenty of water and sunscreen because you will feel the heat of the sun and the road. And honestly just enjoy the experience. If you want AC, shade, and not to feel the road then just rent a convertible from somewhere else because this wont be for you. Also huge shout out to Blase for making the entire process straightforward. Blase points all these potential issues out so if you choose to continue with the rental and dont have a good time then thats on you, not Blase and Aloha motorsports.

My boyfriend and I rented a slingshot for 8 hours and had a blast!! We drove through the botanic gardens and around the island. It’s 100% worth the price. I don’t understand the bad reviews especially when people are complaining about the heat. We’re in Hawaii, it’s hot here, what did you expect lol. It’s basically a motorcycle so I’m not sure why people are expecting air conditioning. Blase was chill to work with and gives you his cell in case anything goes wrong so the customer service reviews don’t make sense either. And if you need a gps just use your smartphone. Anyways get the car because you will have fun.

Giving it a four star off of blase’s customer service. Sadly due to some car malfunctions we were not able to take a slingshot out. For a 24 hour rental it was going to be $626. Blasé worked with me during the day prior to getting the slingshot and once i got to the slingshot and did the walk around. During the walk around I noticed a nail in the rear tire. Make sure you perform full and complete inspection before taking the slingshot. With a slingshot rental you’re responsible for anything that happens regardless of how the incident occurs. So if you take it out with a nail in the tire. And the tire blows. That’s your fault. if you need to be towed. That will also come out of your pocket. Knowing that information, it’s in their reading information they send you. While also not being familiar with the area. Decided to not take the slingshot. Blasé did offer a full refund which was awesome.

I absolutely HATE writing negative reviews. However, our experience with Aloha Motorsports was so bad that I feel its my responsibility to warn others. If youre even thinking of spending your money on this excursion, please read this review before you pull the trigger.1. Its PriceyWe rented two slingshots for the entire day for just under $1,000. While that was on the pricey side, we thought it would be worth it for a once in a life experience. Unfortunately, things went downhill from the moment we pulled out of the parking lot.2. The GPS (i.e. the digital tour guide) Doesnt WorkThe first issue we experienced is the GPS on one of our two cars simply didnt work. That might not seem like a big deal but when youre a tourist and have absolutely no idea where youre going, having a functional GPS is absolutely critical. Remember, the tours offered by Oahu Motorsports are self-guided. This means you are relying on the GPS to guide you from landmark to landmark as part of the excursion. Instead of enjoying our excursion, we spent the first 40 minutes driving around in circles trying to get the GPS to work.Eventually, we decided to just have the one car with the working GPS take lead while the other followed. This only worked for 15 minutes as our party got separated by traffic on the expressway. This meant that the car without GPS was lost and without a way to continue the trip.3. The Support Office Seldom Answers the PhoneAfter one of our cars got lost and was unable to continue the tour, we called Aloha and were unable to reach anyone. While we eventually got a callback, not being able to reach someone in the event of an emergency is frustrating and just plain dangerous. When they did call back they conducted a video call with us and confirmed that the GPS was not functioning. From there we were sent a text message with all the tour stops and advised to use our cell phones to navigate.4. You Will FRY While Driving in the Hot Hawaii SunSince the slingshots are convertibles, we expected it to be a bit warm while driving. Unlike a regular convertible, however, slingshots dont have AC or any other fan/cooling system. Youre also literally sitting 5 inches off the hot asphalt. This means you feel ALL of the heat radiating off the street. Simply put, if its 85 degrees outside, riding in a slingshot will easily feel 10 - 15 degrees hotter. To put things in perspective, one of our phones (i.e. the one we were using for navigation since the cars GPS was broken) began to overheat in the hot sun. Without working GPS in the car and on our phones, we were left circling around for another 45 minutes completely lost.5. The Novelty Wears Off QuicklyThe combination of the heat, breathing in exhaust from other cars, and the lack of working GPS means the novelty of driving a slingshot wears off quickly. In our case, we ended up returning our all-day rental after 4 hours of use. Of that 4 hour period, we were lost for just shy of 2 hours, stopped for lunch for 1 hour, and actually driving for 1 hour. In that hour we werent able to find any of the recommended tour stops.Simply put, we spent $1,000 to drive a slingshot for 1 hour.To be fair, the company offered a 15% refund for the non-working GPS. However, when you cant even complete 10% of the promised tour, a 15% discount is a joke.
