We had a pleasant experience renting from Sixt Honolulu. I’ve always have, even at the LAX location. It’s their job to sell so the people at the counter will offer more. Johnny was very friendly and did a great job. Suggested us alternate lux vehicles but wasn’t pushy at all. We knew what we were paying for and was charged as expected. Suzy (I think) was also great at the return area, so we dropped off and left to catch our plane.
Customer service is almost impossible to reach. The local branch has no direct phone number. The manager doesnt call back. If you have an issue and call customer service to let them know they say they will document the concern but apparently the comments done get honored by the local branch manager. When you you turn in your car I would video record your interaction to prove what you were told unless you will get charges on your bill that no one will call you back about. I hate this company.
They cheat you with the cost changing your book terms and conditions. They will tell you the cost is higher because of taxes but that is not true. They actually add more insurance than you actually need and without your consent. Be careful! Ask them to show on the document all the detail before to accept a price. Don’t believe at what they say because it’s not what they actually add in the contract, they lie.
Do not rent from this location. We were charged $100 excessive cleaning charge for sand on the carpet. Never in my experience have I been charged for cleaning on a rental car especially when its something that will be cleaned up in a normal clean of the car between customers. If they really expect the car to be spotless when its dropped off, they should heavily communicate this. We could have remedied it with a quick vacuum at a gas station. Its a total money grab when the customer has no leverage and I will never rent from them again.
Be wary. For my wifes 70th birthday celebration and 10-day vacation in Hawaii, I chose a pre-paid car rental with SIXT because of the value and the convenience. Believe it or not, SIXT said there were no cars available and tried to upsell us to a luxury SUV. The conversation got quite heated and lengthy to the point that it was clear to everyone in that branch that we were unhappy. Voila, SIXT found a car. And, when we went to the lot, it was filled with available cars. Takeaway - stick to your guns. SIXT uses dishonest tactics. Dont let SIXT pressure you at the counter.
If i can give a negative star rating I definitely would like they did my account. They took out additional charges that was not discussed when me and my husband went to go pick up our rental. We were suppose to get a Toyota Camry but they gave us a 2018 A220 Mercedes Benz as a “complimentary gift” if it was complimentary, why’d I have to pay $576 when my husband already paid it for it!?? The employee said it was a security deposit and that I’d only be getting $200 back from that after we dropped the car back to the airport in 2 days. Mind you, we bought the car back ON TIME, and they even sent my husband an email saying that they’re aware of the scratches that were on the car, and there was A LOT of scratches. Did i get anything back??? NOPE!! All I got was my account in a negative state from a charge that they took out without even consulting anyone. And also when we got this car I asked if there would be any additional charges taken out of my account the employee, Tiana J, said no.. all I will be getting back is the $200. Now I’ve been calling these people for a few days, now they’re phone service is “temporarily unavailable at this time”. I’ve been sending emails on top of emails and yet no one has gotten back to me. Y’all can go to hell. I would not recommend this car rental company. It is not it. Don’t even think about renting with them. I recommend Hertz or Enterprise in Honolulu airport in Hawaii. I got time for y’all and so does my lawyer 😘
Rented a car in April. Everything was great. April 30th I receive an email stating I damaged the car and I owe $512.75. The damage was under the car. I sent in a dispute to corporate and 4 months later a collection agency is attempting to collect $512.75 from me. No follow-up from my dispute letter and no attempt to collect themselves. Straight to a collection agency. Extremely unprofessional and inconsiderate. If you use SIXT be aware they are a scam out to scrape you for every penny they can. Worst company ever...
Sierra at our check-in was lovely, and we got a better car than expected. TJ was equally as wonderful during the car drop-off process. Overall very satisfied!
Does not disclose their hidden fees until after the fact. The process for drop off was very shady, they just asked us to leave the car, didn’t check anything or make us sign anything saying that we returned it. Sixt then intentionally waits until the day after you return the car to bill you (because the know you’ll be out of town and you can’t argue with them in person). Also their prices are absolutely criminal, $1348.40 to rent a Camry for four days. Please notice how all of the reviews for this are either one star, or five stars (A very good indication that the five star reviews are fake/ paid for).
My husband and I rented a Mercedes for our Honeymoon in Oahu. After a long flight we were ready to get our rental car and go!! There was no line at the time and Natasha assisted us on our rental. She offered anything you could need. She offered to update our Mercedes to a Mercedes convertible for NO ADDITIONAL COST!! She was soooo pleasant and made the start to our trip, that much better! We were riding in a beautiful convertible all week long. We couldn’t thank her enough! Alll of the sights and views on this island were soooo easy to see now that we had the top off! It was absolutely amazing!!! I hope we get this lucky on the next island!!Thank you so much Natasha!!
Fast and easy process! The prices are reasonable and there wasnt a wait at all. Everyone working there is really nice, especially Memory! She helped us get our car and helped recommend places for us to go to in the area! She was very sweet and patient and created a great experience for us with Sixt.
I made a reservation with National 2 months ago for a vehicle. I called and confirmed two days prior to arrival. I did let them know at the time that the flight I was on would come in at 8:30pm which is right before closing. I was told they would wait and gave me their direct number. Yesterday, I called when I departed the airport to informed them there was a slight delay but that I would be there. They took down my flight information. I called again when I was on the flight to let them know we would be touching down on 10 mins and I would run over to them. By this point it was 9:10pm. The lady laughed and told me they leave at 9:15pm. I told her that I had called to confirm and was told they would wait. She just repeated that they left at 9:15pm. I called again when I started heading that way but no one answered. I got to the 4th floor garage by 9:25pm and no one was there. I went to Sixt and Noemi was so nice and got me into a bigger vehicle for the same price as National. Great customer service!Update: I got my invoice and everything was as quoted!
I rented a car from Sixt in Honolulu airport. It was prepaid and no additional charges mentioned in the invoice. I returned the car with full tank of gas and no damage. The agent did not mention anything during return but $78.48 charges showed up on my credit card 2 days later. They do not accept call and I had email them. My question a reputable company will never charge your card without letting you know. Now I have to fight to get my money back. NEVER renting form this SOB company again. Sixt is Fraud NO 1.
Rented a car from Sixt HNL for a few days last week while we were in Hawaii and couldnt have had a better experience. Penny at the front desk was absolutely lovely - since I was the only one at the counter, we chatted for a bit about the island, food to try, etc and it was such a great personal interaction.Also the car was great.
We have used Sixt a couple times and loved them. When we arrived in Honolulu we were helped by Sierra who gave us her email in case we had any problems. I have rented many cars and never had the employee offer their email to me.When we started a short drive the tire pressure light came on. We stopped and added air, but the next day we had the warning light come on again. Sixt exchanged cars for us. We were in and out of the office within 20 minutes with another vehicle. I believe the real quality of a company is how they handle a problem. I couldnt ask for a better resolution.
The terrible staff at the counter first said they won’t give me a car because I don’t have a reservation. Then I made a reservation in front of them online for an hour later. So to prove a point he wouldn’t give me a car then and made me wait an hour unnecessarily. I called the hotline and they were able to move up my reservation by 45 mins so I got back in line And they gave me the car. They could have simply been helpful but their terrible staff was intolerable.
Rented car in august: cant say nothing specifically bad, except that when we arrived the car was not ready and we waited for about 20 minutes (total about 30 min after our reservation time start). Another issue that Sixt wants someone to inspect car for scratches together with rentee. However, we were given a key and sent to 3rd floor, where we located car and there were nobody to inspect car with.
Very good experience with Sixt Honolulu, shuttle bus on time, staff very competent and friendly. We hired a convertible Ford Mustang which was great, brand new car with only 300miles on the dash. Everything went smooth and fast, they returned the deposit in under 5 days. I would definitely recommend using Sixt Honolulu, and I would use them again for sure.

My fiancée and I rented a beautifully maintained Mercedes Benz C300 convertible from Sixt during our recent trip to Oahu. The car was very reasonably priced, incredibly fun to drive, and the staff was very kind and helpful, from start to finish. Thank you to all of the dedicated employees, especially Suzie & Dean working the night shift, for your great service!
They dont deserve one star rating at all.Sixt company charged me something that I am not responsible for, the car was returned in original condition and asked me pay $400 after the return.Even the request form came in as final reminder and with the threatening of collection claim.I requested why, and I expressed I dont agree with the claim.Havent heard back for a few months, and I got a letter from a collection company.I contacted the sixt again and again, no response.Since I dont want to ruin my credit report, I ended up paying it.Will never, ever use the sixt again, ever.If you have to rent a car from sixt, make sure you take a plenty of pictures before the rental. Although, i doubt the communication will be happening reasonably.
Service at the airport was wonderful. I was charged an extra days rental because I had barely missed the time window to return the car, however I contacted the corporate office and they were kind enough to issue a refund as a one-time exception. Ive rented from them several times before and I will continue to do so!
Got a complimentary upgrade was the best. and Suzane at the airport was very friendly and good customer service.
If I could rate this place 0 stars, I would. Our car REEKED of cigarette smoke and was beat to hell on the outside, it may have been used in a Fast and Furious film. We called the customer service desk and they sent us to exchange our vehicle to AN OUT OF SERVICE LOCATION. It was empty with a sign saying they had moved. We then drove to the airport to exchange the vehicle where we were left unattended for 30 minutes. There were TWO customer service reps and one was very nice. The other was useless and ignored us, very rude. Altogether, avoid this company.
If your looking for rental car I highly recommend renting from sixth rental car. Base on my personal experience from checking in Memz was so helpful and accommodate to my situation. Upon return I had a few concern After speaking with Suzanne and Mike my concernswas no long a factor and I left feeling satisfied. To say sixth have an amazing team is an understatement. There are no words that can describe Sixth rental customer service... Thank you for the outstanding service.

Where do I start…. I know it was during the pandemic, but as a first time user, the whole experience was very disappointing. I only booked due to the stellar review on Expedia etc., but there were only two people at the check out counter. There was a person complaining about the price difference from Priceline quote, but it could have been better handled. Eventually, it took us almost two hours to check out the car. We had 2 elderly parents traveling with us, and even though we reserved for Camery or similar, we got a two door convertible, which ruined the whole Hawaiian travel. Also, there was no walk through when we check out the car, but the person at the reception marked the car for a ding that was already there when we checked out. I am very disappointed with the whole experience. I will never use Sixt again and do not recommend.
The customer service is friendly and the check-in /checkout service was immediate. John and Suzanne were very helpful. The car selection is the newest throughout Oahu.I had the privileged opportunity of being the first customer with the 2020 Mercedes C300 Cabriolet. The vehicle only had 10 miles on the odometer from the dealership.
I was trying out Sixt after a while, and their app upgraded me to a higher version of a car. At the time of pick up, they said it would cost more for the upgrade and gave me the car that I had initially booked. I requested two hours extension, they asked for a total day rate. WoW, in the days of digitalization, if you don’t honor commitments on what comes up on your app, it is a matter of a while; this business will shut down. Look at their competition; it has been an excellent experience. Just tried them, not again. This happened in Honolulu airport.
Girl at check-in counter was awesome. Did not get the car I requested instead got a much smaller car that could not hold my family comfortably. In the end paid $700 for a car that was so uncomfortable I brought it back in 6 hrs
Overall super great experience. Anj and her team made my trip to Oahu one for the books! Definitely the best car rental experience I’ve had in my years of traveling to Hawaii.

Terrible Terrible service. Didn’t have our vehicle so they up charged us to a minivan that we couldn’t even drive because it was too big and didn’t fit in roads. Bought prepaid gas and was told whatever we don’t use will be refunded. Go to drop the vehicle off and the lady (Suzanne C) says “We don’t refund unused gas, the lady who gave you the car and checked you out is new and doesn’t quite know what she’s doing yet. So we cannot offer you a refund” Then the lady inspects the vehicle and finds a paint chip the size of the tip of a pen and circles it and says i have to report this and we may charge you for the damage. I said we didn’t even drive it because it was too big. We drove it to our room and parked it all week then drove it back to the airport. She proceeds to tell us we should’ve inspected the vehicle before we left the rental place although no one told us we needed to inspect it. Suzanne C was very rude and unfriendly while explaining to us the situation. Then proceeded to ask us to give her a 5 star rating. Like who asks for that? Overall terrible service, terrible quality, terrible customer service, just terrible. I will never ever rent a car from this service again and i advice you do the same.
The staff from Desiree, Andrew and Anj were awesome and accommodating! Would hands down recommend this spot for anyone renting a ride in Honolulu!They were kind enough and flexible as a one exception to switch vehicles as the one I had reserved was large and I was struggling around town. They also listed down recommendations of tours and places I could visit while I was waiting for a car pickup!
Rental was seamless don’t understand all the bad reviews sure the car had a hundred dings but wasn’t charged for any existing damage. Car was clean otherwise when picked up
This car rental place has a 3 day cancellation notice and when going to Hawaii you have to get tested for COVID no sooner than 3 days before your trip. A member of our group tested positive for COVID therefore we had to cancel our trip. The car rental is charging us for over $700 because we didn’t cancel 3 days prior to our trip. Hello!!!! Hawaii won’t let you get tested before the 3 days!!! Does this make any sense?!?! And no one will communicate with us either! It is only conducted through email so they obviously do not care! Never, never, never use this car rental!
I’m being accused of damage (two small dents) that existed on the vehicle before my rental started. Your company contacts me weeks later about this too… I have time stamped photos to prove this damage existed prior to my rental, but I was informed I have to wait up to 10 business days for your companies decision??I will be getting a lawyer and definitely fighting this. I will never recommend your company to anyone. DO NOT rent from SIXT. They will falsely accuse you of damage and try to collect money from you.
I didn’t think a company could exist with customer service this bad! Most frustrating for me is the lack of logic - explanations are skewed to benefit themselves and trap the customer. Issues like trying to charge me cancellation fees when I have a free cancellation policy in the agreement! Or, not allowing me to change a reservation pick up time due to a change in my flight arrival time, even when I offered to pay the full rate ($200/day) for them to just hold it for me until I get in. This resulting in me attempting to add a friend to the reservation in the destination city, to leave work in the middle of the day to pick the car up for me at the original flight time or they would cancel my reservation! Then I have to pay for parking somewhere else just so I could still have the car when I arrived late! (Note - this adds additional Uber rides from the airport to a new parking location plus parking fees.) There are no easy modifications here- every option is a fight and know that they offer NO phone call service at this time due to “Covid” So you are at the mercy of misunderstood email communications with long wait times between them. My recommendation is even with no other options, don’t book with this company.
Our plane arrived early and so our car wasn’t ready yet. They were all sold out of the car type that we had reserved. Upgraded us to a Mercedes but for our family it was too small. Suzanne and the team at sixt were really helpful in swapping out for a mini van though we had already packed into the Benz. Thank you for your time and assistance!

Do not rent from these guys. I paid 3-4 months in advance for a Mercedes Benz (or premium class equivalent). Upon our arrival, they rented out car out because our flight was delayed 2 hours (beyond our control). They presented us with two other premium options, but they would cost “extra” (50% more than the cost of the original reservation).In their TOC, if the car was not available, an equivalent would be provided. BUT NOT AT THE RENTER’S EXPENSE, FOR YOU, THE COMPANY, SCREWED UP BY RENTING OUT THE CAR I HAD RENTED MONTHS IN ADVANCE! Essentially we were cornered into paying more money than we bargained for, for an equivalent premium class vehicle.Shady company. Shady employees. Shady practices. Stay away.

Needing a rental car for two days prior to a military move, so we are renting from our local Sixt branch at the airport. We reserved car on Priceline. Manager Amy says that it is policy to confirm a local address with a utility bill because they don’t usual do local rentals (?). We have been renting our home and the utility bill is in the name of the property manager. Plus my husbands drivers license address does not match our current address because we have moved locally in the past year. Manager Amy says that she can therefore not rent to us. When we ask how we are supposed to know about this policy, she says that it is our responsibility to review local policy. I have reviewed the terms and conditions of renting the car in Hawaii and this is not listed here. How is my status as a local renter different than that of someone coming in from out of town? Eventually they allowed us to rent when we showed a utility bill address matching my drivers license address. But this requires us to change the driver to myself, they throw in the advice of not using a third party reservation (Priceline) to prepay even though it saves money because it makes these changes more difficult and incurs fees. In summary, Random policy that I cannot find online on or in communications making picking up reservation difficult. Unhelpful manager.

Don’t book with these people they are frauds. They’ll take your money and then make up random rules on your way in. I had prepaid for my car online and the payment was processed on Priceline. My card was prepaid from affirm.com which I paid for my car on my reservation prior to coming to the sixt location. They would not accept the card. I then offered my Chase debit Visa card and departing flight information they still declined me. When I asked for a refund they said I had to contact Priceline but the reservation clearly stated to contact Sixt. Sixt said they wouldn’t handle it and to call Priceline. No one took responsibility. This is considered fraud since they accepted the initial payment during the time of reservation online. If they knew they wouldn’t accept the card Priceline and Sixt should have rejected my payment . They then declined the card in person. Priceline and Sixt had no problem taking money from my card initially for $240 and not returning the money. I will be calling my fraud department with my bank.
We booked through a third party (Priceline) and were surprised to find almost $200 in hidden fees on our final bill. We were rushed through with a key drop-off upon returning the vehicle and not given a receipt, chance to inspect the car with a Sixt employee, etc. The receipt was emailed to us several hours later, as we were halfway across the ocean and couldnt dispute it in person. I tried to contact the company, who was unhelpful, just saying that we signed a contract. We paid to have the vehicle professionally cleaned on our way to the airport and dropped it off early, yet they marked it as dirty on the receipt, even though it was spotless. They also claimed there were a couple new scratches, but since no one inspected the vehicle with us, were pretty skeptical about those as well. We took excellent care of the vehicle. We thought we were getting the best rental price by using Priceline, but after the hidden fees, there were so many other highly-rated, reliable rental companies that wouldve been cheaper in the end. Such a disappointing experience. Wont be using Sixt or Priceline again.
Had some issues trying to pick up our car in the morning but Mike was super helpful and fixed our issues promptly. This would’ve been a 2 star review had it not been for Mike’s outstanding service recovery.
DO NOT USE SIXT CAR RENTALS IN HONOLULU!!! WORST EXPERIENCE EVER I PREPAID MY RESERVATION 3 months prior to travel and then I was turned away at the pick up counter. I have a valid Visa card that’s not a secured card and the agent was RUDE AND CONDESCENDING AND WHEN I ASKED WHY I COULDNT USE THAT CARD SHE TOLD ME ITS NOT HER PROBLEM AND INSTRUCTED ME TO MOVE TO THE SIDE! When I asked for a manager I was told there not going to help you anymore than I can sir!! So I asked for a customer service number only to call and find out that number was bad! So she wasn’t helpful and refused to help me contact someone else to try and address my valid points. DO NOT RENT FROM HERE!!!

Mike was of great assistance and made our booking very easy and straightforward from start to finish. Only issue I had,unrelated to sixt, but the airport had an impossible detour to return the cars. TOOK 1.5 HOURS OF REROUTING just to turn the car in..
I reserved a Jeep. Rental period was 1/1 - 2/1. Price was $1335ish total for the rental period. When I arrived, the Jeep was not available. They gave me a Jaguar SUV instead. I was told it would be $1500 for the same rental period. I told the girl at the desk, that it should be $1335 since they didnt have the car I reserved, she said she would check on pricing.Loooong story short, they are not answering phones at SIXT and blaming it on the pandemic. They do not answer emails in a timely manner, usually 1 to 2 weeks. I ended up being charged $1700 and given BS reasons for it. After a bunch of back and forth, I think they may have given me another credit, but I cannot make heads or tails out of their verbiage and attachments. It is like corresponding with a teenager.This is the only stain on what was otherwise a wonderful month on Oahu.The only reason I went with these guys, is because a trip earlier 2020 was cancelled due to covid. They refuses a refund, so I wanted to use the credit. Big mistake.
Give this guy a raise, dropped off a Sixt mustang and happened to leave my Wallet In the car while my flight was leaving less than a hour and a half, ran back to the vehicle, it disappeared lol luckily Micheal one of the attendant was there and TOOK me to where all the cars was parked and helped meFind the wallet which was hiding between the Centre console and the driver seat, this guy was a guardian angel and on top of it dropped me back to the elevator to run to the terminal, definitely this guy needs a bigger position he has a GREAT heart ! Picked up a premium rental yesterday. Ford Mustang GT. Asked counter lady how many miles on car, she says 1200. Like new! 5400 was actual.After one trip getting a washer fluid level warning and on trip 4 low tire pressure warnings. Called Sixt and asked if I get THEIR car serviced would I be reimbursed. Guy chuckled and said it wouldnt be that much. Maybe waste an afternoon of my vacation and return it to airport?My fault I didnt buy the maintenance plan for their poorly maintained vehicle. First and last time.Fast car gives them 2 stars.

Very disappointed. The reserved vehicle was not available when I came todo the pickup. Of course they are happy to give you a more expensive one but I did not want to do that, so had to downgrade. The person at the counter misinformed me that she submitted a ticket to her managed for a discount to be applied to cover the downgrade, fast forward 5 days - nothing happens, so I had to spend 20 mins on hold with Sixt on the phone. Another 20 mins on hold 2 days later the associate confirmed the refund has been processed, but I am yet to see it on my card. Further, no one on the phone will tell you whether the amount is correct as they dont know the rates. So there is a chance that the discount does not reflect the actual cost of the downgraded rental. Bad process, irresponsible person at the counter.

Their rates look good online but dont be fooled. There were many hidden charges and very unhelpful staff. Their call center is a joke, after pressing enough buttons to get to someone, it just hangs up. Avoid this place like the Corona virus!!!! If ZERO stars was an option, Id would give -1. Price gouging, inefficient check in, high anchor negotiating on upgrades (eg, “Sir, we can upgrade you to the BMW X7 for $150/day…wait…just got a message from my manager that we can do do it for $75/day…”. Never again with Sixt.
The vehicle i received was disgusting. It smelled like cigarette, there were drink stains and splashes on the dashboard and didn’t look like it was cleaned after the last person who used it.A little concerning especially at a time like this.After doing some looking around the vehicle I found an entire cigarette. YUCK.
Planned for the rental process to take only a small amount of time but ended up taking an hour. rented a wrangler but received a different car. service was terrible and employees are untrained and novice at best. avoid at all costs.
Made a reservation one day ahead of pickup for a Luxury SUV (Volvo XC60 or similar). Upon arrival, the agent told me that they do not have any Luxury SUVs available, nor any SUVs, despite a prior reservation. She offered me a Mercedes Class A as an alternate for the same price, while that vehicle is classified as a premium sedan and is typically priced lower than the Luxury SUV. Only reason for two stars is because the agent was polite and respectful, even when I declined the alternate and decided to go with another company.
This company over charged me by almost $200 for a weekend car rental of the most basic vehicle class. I ended with a $445 invoice. Charging me for a full day when I dropped the car off 14 minutes late (they allow a 30 minute grace period) and charging me for “extra mileage” at $.35 per mile (the counter rep falsely claimed I was getting unlimited mileage). Save yourself the headache and book elsewhere, as it appears that they have the same shady practices in all of the SIXTs locations around America.
AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS - HEADACHEWent to Honolulu for my first time and decided to go with Sixt to rent a vehicle, went with a Jeep Wrangler. Paid for everything before arriving in Hawaii. Upon arrival the lady working the desk tells me that the Jeep Wrangler I paid for is no longer available, but they have a BMW for me instead. It confused me that the vehicle I pre paid for wasn’t available, but I said that’s fine I’ll take the BMW. Once we go upstairs to the parking garage we see an available Wrangler, which confused me because they told me none were available. I let the lady know that they have already charged me for the Jeep and I would need to get reimbursed for the difference for the BMW charge. She didn’t even listen that I already paid ahead of time and continued to charge me for the BMW on top of the Jeep that I had paid for. I call the Sixt number and after an hour of waiting I get ahold of someone from a different department and they then tell me that the customer service number is a different number. Once I finally call that number I find out that they are closed due to Covid and everything will be resolved through email. They take days to respond so I just reach out to my bank to dispute this charge while Sixt did nothing. Don’t waste your time here folks.
Do not rent from this company. I had prepaid rental in Hawaii for 9 days and could not go due the states COVID restrictions. Sixt has not changed their policy despite COVID. I tried to cancel more than 30 days in advance but was told, I will lose the prepaid amount plus I will be assessed a cancellation fee of 3 days rental. This is sketchy even without COVID but is totally unacceptable given the circumstances. I will never rent from this company again and will ensure none of my family or friends do either.UPDATE: I was charged the cancellation fee but was refunded the original prepaid amount. The policy was not clear and the response to my first email was also not clear. Unfortunately, there is no way to speak to someone to clarify these details. Also I was considering modifying the rental to avoid the cancellation fee. Since the policy for refund of the original prepaid amount was not clear, I opened another window to explore cancellation so I could see that policy and when I proceeded, the reservation was canceled with no warning that the transaction was going to be executed. Poor programming at best or shady practice at worst.

Customer service was very good at pick up and delivery!! We got a little Mercedes c300 which was nice little ride for our stay! Very clean! Perfect condition! Both of the shuttle drivers we had were very helpful loading and unloading luggage! Suzzanne helped us out a lot with everything super cool!!

Had a great experience at this Sixt! Pickup was smooth - even though we just barely made it in minutes before close (given the shorter hours of 8am-8pm during COVID-19), the employees kindly turned their systems back on to get our reservation processed, and the car (a beautiful Volvo XC60) was in pristine condition. And had a painless return too - the icing on the cake was both employees there personally checking I was good to go after returning the car and waiting for my ride back. Highly recommend!
We rented a car a few months ahead of time, and because of Covid rules which mandated travelers quarantine 14 days We cancelled our vacation. We barely got anything from back from them. Go with other options
Horrible experience, i made a reservation and prepaid online for arrival to honolulu for 08/04/2020. when i arrived at the location, the representative at the counter, said due to state of hawaii quarantine requirements, she could not rent to me until AFTER my 14 day quarantine. as you can imagine, i was standing there with 2 travelers with me, and 8 LARGE SPINNER SUITCASES, and no vehicle. on top of that, she could not issue me a refund for what i prepaid. instead, she said she had to open a ticket for customer support to handle either crediting my card back or issuing me a voucher for future rental. i dont want a voucher, i only needed the car to be able to get my bags back home, i was going to return it the very next day. i was told someone from sixt customer support would be calling me within 24-48 hours to discuss my refund. today is 08/14/20, i have not received any calls nor any message from SIXT in regards to my refund back to my credit card. I have called the local location 2 times first on 08/10 and the rep who answered took my name and # and told me someone would call me back. no call back. then again on 08/13/20 called local branch, spoke to PO, who told me he would have his manager call me back also took my name and phone number but STILL NO CALL BACK> i understand there is a pandemic going on, but how hard is it to communicate with a paying customer? especially when you expressed to that customer when you were unable to fulfill her service request to rent a car, she prepaid, and tell her someone is going to call her in 1-2 days? i expected to speak to someone regarding getting money back. i mean, i didnt receive a rental, you took my money immediately and now im having to CHASE my refund down, and NO ONE WILL CALL ME BACK or address my issue? this is the WORST customer service i have ever experienced. i feel like a circus animal, having to do tricks for a reward. horrible experience, will not use them ever again.
I did not have a good experience here. The woman who helped us was very rude and pushy and got annoyed when we didn’t want to purchase the extra insurances or upgrades. We arrived 15 minutes early to our booking and she told us we were going to have to wait 45 minutes since we were “so early.” It took so long for their system to work and the over all vibe was extremely stressful and anxiety ridden. The woman helping us did not make this a good experience and we ended up just canceling the entire booking and went somewhere else.

Wanted to book a car over the phone, I called the # provided and asked to be connected to Honolulu office. I did this 3 times and got disconnected every time they transferred the call. I also waited more than 5 minutes on each call before they answered
Highly recommend Sixt to every person I know, shout-out to Anj for always making our trips even better with a gorgeous car!
Reservation was for 630pm in Honolulu and no one was around and main 800# closed so we (me and my 2 kids) had no car and sat around for an hour trying to deal with priceline with zero help. Ultimately booked with budget and ended up paying $240 more for the week. Completely ridiculous.

When renting it says it is airport. It isnt. You need to take shuttle. Watched no less than 15 shuttles come for thrifty, alamo, budget and others every 30 seconds. We waited 20 minutes. I tried calling the local office to get a shuttle and there is no way to speak with a human. Horrible way to start.
Let me tell you about my experience with Sixt rental company.I was traveling to Oahu from Vancouver Canada, had a tough day of delays and passport problems, and my partners flights were delayed an entire day, so I arrived in Honolulu late, and alone. I had pre booked a car with them through an agregate company.I headed to the shuttle area at 11:20pm, where shuttle drivers for other companies were still picking up, and told me that the Sixt bus should be there soon. It never showed. There were others waiting for them as well. I checked their Google listing which said open until midnight, and called several times, all getting a voicemail that said I was calling outside normal hours. I waited there until close to midnight.Luckily I managed to hitch a ride on another companies bus, headed to the Sixt office, to find it open and running! The staff there told me the number I called (still on this Google listing) was wrong, even though it went to their phone tree and answering machine, and didnt really explain why their shuttle shut down early, but whether, I was there.Then they couldnt get their system to work, tried to charge me for an extra day, had to take down all my info twice, and basically tried to make my transaction work for a looong time. I was probably in the office for an hour.Finally it came time to pay (remember, I pre paid for this booking, so only had to pay whatever extra charges they could come up with and a deposit), and because my Canadian debit card doesnt have my name on it, just a number and signature, they cant accept it. Somehow it could be fraudulent, even though it had a chip and pin. I tried to prove it was mine a number of ways, but no good. They dont take cash either. So after over an hour of waiting for a car I ALREADY PAID FOR, Im now in a cab to my hotel right, so incredibly mad.1/5, would not recommend.
They were great people, they upgraded us to a Benz complimentary for out honeymoon. We will be back very soon!
Would have gotten a 5 but when we reserved our car, the credit card and the name of the driver didnt match, so we got to either pay for a second driver or cancel our reservation and not get a refund. Lesson learned.

After returning the car, Sixt held on to our deposit for over a month. We had to call internationally at least 3-4 times to the customer service number and the problem is still not solved. Very inconvenient, unfriendly, and unhelpful. Never rent from Sixt again!!
The services are very disappointing. We had to wait 35min at the Honolulu airport for the shuttle to come and then we had to wait another 30min. In the 30 min the clerk had only one customer. Extremely disappointing.

I rented a car with Sixt at the Honolulu airport in July and I was very happy from start to finish. The location is super convenient, the staff were very helpful in guiding me where I needed to go, and it was very quick. I was in and out with a great car in just a few minutes time. I will definitely rent again with Sixt when I am back on the island!
Such a great experience. Checking in and getting the car was super easy and our agent, Mo, was very friendly and professional. The car was clean with a full tank of gas. Returning the car was also a breeze. Will definitely be renting from Sixt again!
Very bad service. Your computer or your payment method gave an error and they did not give us any facility to rent the car in any way. We had to cancel the reservation as we were not given a chance for anything else. Very bad treatment from the worker, we had to rent the car with another company, and we had no problems at the time of payment or reservation, so the problem was theirs 100% and they did not give us any facility or answer.
Service was very good. It raises the star rating to three. Otherwise, the action stinks. The car for which the advance was booked was not available at all. In addition to returning the car, directions, road signs were nowhere to be found, we had to cycle around the airport several times to find the right route to the car rental company. Fortunately, another name for the Car Hire, which was next to Sixt Hire, was remembered and helped arrive. I had to wait for a long time at the airport for the Car Rental bus, I do not know what it took when normally different Car Rental buses drove past five minutes.
