This is a delightful barber shop with the nicest lady who owns and runs it. Her name is Lisa and shes Vietnamese. I watched her cut three other peoples hair before it was my turn and she is fast and very skilled. If youre in the Waikiki area its a 5 minute from Kapiolani Park or the Honolulu Zoo. She charged me $12 but I gave her $20 because I got exactly the haircut I wanted. She even gave me a few natural tips on thicker more luxurious hair which is what we all want right? I highly recommend this local barber shop and salon.

Small little 2 seat haircut shop run by a sweet ol lady.. there might be two, but I only saw one when I came in. Just walked in and she took me in right away, even though she has a customer call in for an appointment 15 mins later. She took her time, talked to me and gave me a haircut that pleased me. ☺️ And it wasnt expensive! So if you need a haircut done, nothing over the top, or just trying to look clran, shell hook you up!

Lisa cut hair for my friend and me we have very different hair types she did each cut beautifully. Best haircut I’ve ever gotten and the price was well below what I would pay anywhere else. She is so friendly and is amazing you HAVE to get a haircut here when you come to the island. My friend took tinder pics after the haircut and started getting soooooo many matches. This place makes you look GOOD!!!

Auntie is an absolute delight! Not only will she do an excellent job with your haircut, but she will make you feel right at home while you are there. She is an incredible singer, she had my brother and I smiling the entire time we were there. I would leave more stars if I could. This was one of the few times that I have gone to get a haircut and had a fun and memorable experience!

The woman who works here in an expert. She was very nice, listened to and followed my instructions, cut my hair to perfection in about 1/3 the time it takes other barbers, and at an unbeatable price. Highly recommended

We take our boys here. Its a tiny, no frills, a real old fashioned barbershop. The owner is really nice. The prices are very affordable and she is fast and good with kids. My boys just get buzz cuts, so nothing fancy... but she does a good job on the edges and fading. Went around 2pm on a Wednesday and there were 3 others ahead of us and then a couple of more lined up after us, so she stays pretty busy but she is quick and efficient.

This woman has magic hands. She did an amazing job. I usually just get a buzz cut. So I had no direction for her. And she just went to town and made me look good. Trimmed my beard also.(I can never get it right myself). She makes you feel like family. Thank you for making me look good for my wedding!

Lisa is a great hair stylist. Turns shop by herself, has many return customers and always friendly. AND, shes quick. Both myself and my husband go to her when were in Honolulu!

I very rarely get my hair cut, and it is usually in a ponytail. With the higher temperatures of late, it was time for a change. Too hot, too hard to manage, and generally everywhere but where I wanted it. Only twice now have I been here for a haircut, but when I get out of the chair, and look at the finished result. Wow! It is just how I pictured it looking. And, coming from me, thats saying something. Prior to the present time I would only let my Mom, or my Wife go near my hair. Even for a trim. Good people, nice atmosphere, and a great job. I take my hat off to them at D J, and I dont mind what will be seen when I do. Thank you!

I stumbled across this little barber shop while looking for an affordable place to get a weekly haircut. The friendly Vietnamese lady is very sweet and does a mean fade! (this is coming from a guy who’s had a fade cut weekly for the last 9 years) At a fraction of the cost of most places nearby, this is a great place to go for a quick cut. Don’t be afraid by the line, it goes by quite quickly!

Dont let the unpretentious decor fool you. This lady knows what shes doing. I was intimidated by the speed with which she cut people. Im very satisfied with my haircut and the lady is nice.

Proprietress very friendly, haircut very inexpensive. Appointment suggested, although there are many walk-in clients which may result in a waiting period. Depending on the amount of clients will determine the wait time, which is usually not very long.

I decided to try DJ barber shop when I needed a haircut shortly after moving to Oahu. I choose Lisas shop from her reviews and I couldnt be happier with Lisas service. Shes a sweetheart - always friendly, does a great job cutting my hair and her price is very reasonable - even when comparing to mainland. Ive never considered going to another place for a haircut in Oahu and dont see that changing as long as Lisas in business. Highly recommend

It was decent for a $12 haircut. I realized when I got home she shaved up one side weird, which is not what I asked for and I had to just buzz it all, but the fade was decent. I wouldnt recommend for anything complicated and I would recommend being extremely descriptive about exactly what you want cut.

Ive been going to this barbershop for years now. Im not some fancy lad, so my haircuts are easy. Auntie doesnt charge much, and throws in backrubs after the cut, so I always tip her nicely. The line can be a bit long, but you are usually in and out within an hour.

Good haircut from a local shop. Price of $12 for a haircut is more than reasonable. Walk ins are welcome and the line is usually short. Cash is accepted but I am unsure if credit or debit is accepted. Parking is the only drawback. You may have to park a block or two over due to a shortage of available, nearby parking.
