Experienced the “Ultimate Lowcountry Day” and loved it. Wesley was great. Would definitely do again!

My family and I rented a pontoon boat today for three hours. The staff at the check in desk were knowledgeable but not very friendly. The boat needs some work. The gps did not work. The radio did not work. The steering was not operating properly. We asked to use the other available pontoon boat, that was in better shape, with working instruments, but the employee said “we feel more comfortable with you taking this boat than the others who are renting today”. Luckily my husband has some boating experience or it may not have ended well. We will definitely look for another boat next year that has those instruments in working order. For the price we paid, it would be nice to have a nicer boat.

Ive done a couple tours with outside Hilton Head. The eco dolphin tour was such a nice outing. We saw a few dolphins, nothing crazy but youre at the mercy of the dolphins and their schedule. Our tour guide, Nick, provided so much information about the island, he was amazing. He really made the tour better than I expected!Theres a few other tours he recommended that I will be sure to join on the next trip.

Outside Hilton Head and their captain Brad are fantastic. This was the highlight of our trip to say the least. We did the family fishing three hour trip first thing in the morning Saturday. Brad took us out a little early and stopped at one of his spots he knew where the fish where. Our kids caught a lot of sharks, some bait fish and one crab, they had a blast catching sharks. Most where small but the experience was the reason why we where here. I reeled in a big 3-4 foot shark which put up a nice fight. Everyone had a lot of fun and Brad went above and beyond answering all the kids silly questions. Age ranges 9-41.

Captain Caleb was phenomenal. He made it fun for the kids, and informative for the adults. Though you know that many captains and boat operators have a shtick they go through, Captain Caleb connected with the family and gave us a truly fun, uplifting experienced. We also learned about some of the non-profit work Outside does, and look forward to learning more!

I had a great experience renting both a fishing kayak and pontoon boat to go on the water! Everyone was super helpful, I received great instructions, was provide top class customer service and the value was very reasonable. The first day I rented the pontoon boat to go on the water, I was recommended to stay in and received a full refund with no problems because of weather. I booked the next day and the weather was great! Also was able to hook on on some red fish while I was there!

Unprofessional, lying staff. I would rent from somewhere else. We discussed by phone kayaks availability with their staff today. They told us we can come any time before 5 30 pm and a kayak will be available and refused to book one by the phone. When we came at 4:30 to the location, they told that the las kayak departs at 4. I would rent from another place, but it was already to late.

I had a great experience going out to Daufuskie island. Tour guide knew a lot and obviously enjoyed sharing his information with his guest. Loved the boat ride the most. Its so pretty out there. The tour does seem a little prizey at $ 95 dollars. At least offer your guest a bottle of water when they get on board. I think that would be a nice addition and make them feel welcome.

We did a 2 hour guided kayak tour, Alexa was excellent and informative about the area,the ecosystem and the animals that you might encounter. Had a great time with my family,we are all novice kayakers.

Excellent service from the young ladies and gentleman who helped us get our rental kayaks and to the water. Whenever we finished our excursion, however, we were met with an entirely different experience. The young male cashier who was taking care of us told us that we hadnt used the full alotted time that Id already paid for, and that I only owed around $120 for the rental,which was fine except I had already paid $200 cash when I arrived. I politely informed the cashier who demanded a receipt, with some searching we produced an (understandably) wet reciept, clearly stating the company name on it. After some fidgeting he dejectedly told me that I was correct, at which time I said that was understandable and that mistakes happen. I then stood, with no other customers at the counter, for another ten minutes waiting for my change. I finally inquired if I was getting said change, at which time the cashier angrily walked to the adjacent building to retrieve my money. Upon his return, I politely thanked him for his time and service, to which I received yup through a nearly inaudible grunt. I do believe this young man was trying to steal from me. I dont place the blame on the company, only the young man, unless Outside Hilton Head Activities refuses to follow up on this gentleman.

Rented a pontoon boat -when I called to rent they let me know that there were two different boats to rent - I questioned the difference between the two and the different for higher priced one was that there was more cushion on the seats and blue tooth, so we went with the less expensive one -WRONG choice - there was duck tape on one of the cushions sealing a split, seats had mold spots on them, the engine wouldn’t go over 5 miles per hour, they only gave us one anchor which means we couldn’t stop anywhere without having to hold the boat from swinging around in the water so needless to say DO NOT rent the cheaper boat !On a positive note the people that worked there were very friendly .

Great kayak trip today. Our guide Mary was wonderful and provided a lot of great information. Definitely a great way to explore Broad Creek.

What a pleasant experience. My son(4y/o) and I took out a double. We followed the instructions from the deck hands and came out in to the sound and immediately saw several dolphins at around 930am.

Gauges (including horn) didnt work on boat. Speedometer did not work as well. Radio was out for the count too. When mentioned to the staff on hand, their response was yeah, theyre all broken. We should fix them. One would think when booking a book rental, all luxuries and accessories would be in proper functioning order. But not for these folks.

My husband and I went Kayaking this 4th of July for our first time, and i must say we enjoyed it a lot! It is a lot of work on your body, specially for first timers so make sure you do listen to the guide when he/she says to rotate part of your torso otherwise there is a lot of pain in your upper body (shoulders, arms and hands). We bought the single kayak just because friends whom been there reccomended base on their experience of getting caught in bushes, and oysters but I actually think well do the double kayak to save ourselves the workout. It was an inexpensive experience and we honestly enjoyed it a lot. Also, make sure you go when it isnt so sunny as the sun burns you a lot even if you wear sunscreen. Dont forget a bucket hat and sunglasses!

My parents and I have been coming to HH for years and never thought to rent a boat. We are so happy we did this time. We had a driver and his name was Hunter. He was awesome showed us the beautiful homes and really connected with us. We will definitely be back! Thanks for the experience Hunter!

Helen was an amazing kayaking guide. She knows so much about the area and answered all of our questions, making sure we had a fabulous time. And as far as Outside goes, their customer service far exceeded my expectations when I called, Harriet helped patiently and allowed us to rebook. Really happy we came out on the trip today!

Our kayak trip was great! We took 3 kids out on the water from 5 to 16 years old and they all had fun. Hellen was an amazing guide, super informative, friendly and great with the kids. She even had bubbles for our 5 year old to stay entertained. Would definitely go again!

We chartered a private sunset cruise on the PauHana for our family of 35 (12 adults and 23 grandchildren, ranging from 6 months to 70) and had such a great time, we are already planning a return visit! Ill start with our crew: Captain Joe, CJ, and Flood. These guys were so accommodating, so patient with our kids (even letting several of them drive the boat), and so fun. We blasted music and had a dance party on deck, took tons of photos, and saw dolphins along the way. The sunset was beautiful and everyone in the family has said it was the best part of our trip.We highly recommend a cruise on the PauHana with Capt Joe, CJ, and Flood.

As a fellow captain on the water, Im appalled at the carelessness of the captains that run your fleet. Blasting through no wake zones, cutting others off with tubes, and approaching a dock at a half plane. Are there any requirements or training needed? Or is the ability to fog up a mirror good enough. Id give it 1 star but one of your older gentleman that captains for yall is the one good representative of your company Ive seen yet. Do better.

We rented a pontoon boat and had a wonderful time. They have other things to rent also. Go check them out. Very nice people on top of a great time.

Capt. Bill did a great job hosting our group on the sunset dolphin cruise. Beautiful sunset and up close dolphin encounters.

We chartered a boat and captain for our party of seven. The boat had a capacity of 12 persons; so we had plenty of room for our coolers and to move around.We chose a Tuesday evening so that we could incorporate the Shelter Cove fireworks display as well as a dolphin hunt and sunset viewing. Everything was perfect. Captain Grant was knowledgeable and found us some great dolphin sightings. Mother Nature cooperated with a beautiful sunset, and watching the fireworks from the comfort of our boat was enjoyed by all; kids and adults alike.

Our captain Andy Kennedy was a wealth of knowledge of the area, its people, history and ecology. Highly recommend the Outback trip.

It was cool to see the dolphins, I probably would rent a pontoon for a couple hours next time, but the guide was real knowledgeable

Paddleboard rental was easy and a great experience. Saw a jellyfish and a sea turtle. Definitely worth it!

We did the beach comber tour and it was amazing! It was just us and one other couple. We saw multiple dolphins and our captain stopped so that we could watch them and take pictures before continuing with the tour. The tour goes to Vanishing Island which is only accessible at low tide. There werent a ton of shells and sand dollars, we only left with a few partial sand dollars. But it was still a great experience because we found a lot of live conch and hermit crabs (which we returned to the ocean!) We were on the island pretty much up until it vanished and got back to the harbor right when we were supposed to.

My wife and I took the three-hour vanishing island / dolphin tour with Outside Hilton Head and had the time of our lives! Andy K was our guide, and we HIGHLY recommend him to anybody! Hes very knowledgeable, personable, and friendly. We almost booked the same tour again just to talk to him some more!10 out of 10, we would do it again!

Very bad experience.

Rob showed myself, mother, and sister a great time kayaking and explaining how the oysters, marshes, and ocean worked together. Weve been educated on things we never new about the ocean and culture for Hilton Head and South Carolina in general. He had a great personality, patience for teaching, and just a all around great person. We had a great time!!!

We tried to rent Hobie Fishing Kayaks at 7:00 am, its first come first served. The gentlemen told they had tours today and we wouldnt have enough time to fish because of the tours. We found out, its first come first served unless you you book a tour. The very nice guy there told us we could get them from the store for the day but not until 9:00. Great, we got them and had to carry them over. Im with a 13 year old who is complaining the entire time about carrying them. So Shawn offers to help from the dock side booth. He walks over with us and helps carry them all the way down to the dock. What great service he gave; he helped us get them in the water and even made some repairs on some of the equipment.If your renting anything while on vacation these guys are the best. It was the best customer service Id received in a long time from a business.

I went on a kayaking trip with my girlfriend this past July and I have to say for the price which is very reasonable you simply cant find a experience like that anywhere else. If your looking to kayak and are experienced perhaps get a private tour as ours was family oriented and the guide wasnt comfortable doing the advertised trip. We ended up doing a training wheels version but it was still worth the $65 each

We went on the 2 hour kayaking tour on 7/23 with Alexa as our guide. We highly recommend doing this... it was our familys 1st time kayaking and we were given a brief but effective lesson b4 hand. Alexa was a very informative & very personable guide... request her, you wont be disappointed. We did get to see some birds, oysters & dolphins. Great company, we would definitely book another activity with them.

My family of 5 (3 boys ranging in age from 7 to 11) did the dolphin eco tour. Captain Joe was our tour guide and he was great. Joe was super friendly with our boys and did a great job pointing out things of interest. We were able to see several pods of dolphins on our cruise. it was well worth the money.

Two hour pontoon rental was beautiful and relaxing. We had dolphins come within 10 feet of our boat. The harbor sits farther down the channel so it does take a while to get to open water. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and helpful. We were able to take our two small dogs with us. I would definitely do it again but maybe next time take a longer ride, dock at Dufuskie Island and then return.

The Shelter Cove location provides for some nice kayaking through the surrounding marsh lands. The kayaks were very nice and the staff was helpful and efficient. Our only complaint is the same one that we have with others - the life jackets are not washed after each use. Sometimes they can stink so bad that its very unpleasant to wear, but you dont usually notice it until you start to sweat a little. I noticed the guy hang my life jacket right back on the rack when I gave it back even though it already smelled bad, and I was just sweating in it for 2 hours in 90 degree heat.

We recently purchased a 2017 Hobie kayak and the folks at Outside Hilton Head were extremely knowledgeable and helpful. We had another Hobie and twice had Outside Hilton Head staffers do repairs and they did a great job at a reasonable price. We have also booked trips through them and everything is top-notch. Highly, highly recommend them.

We really enjoyed our 2 hour kayaking guided trip today. Our guide was very heful and our daughter was a little nervous so she connected their kayaks. We saw an alligator and some oysters. There was a storm and we had to turn back early so they issued a rain check. We cant wait to return for our next Hilton Head adventure.

Had a great time kayaking with the family on Broad Creek. It was much easier than we expected. We meandered as far west as the Old Point Landing docks and back, in a lazy hour.The kayaks have a waterproof storage compartment, so you can bring your phone, etc. You will get wet from the paddle dripping on you.

Jean was our instructor for a paddle boarding lesson on August 18th. No one in our group of 7 had ever done paddle boarding and Jean was the perfect person to help us! She was extremely calm and fun and had us moving around the boards and doing yoga by the end of the hour. We had a 10 year old in our group and she did a great job at helping him understand the basics. He was able to ride on our boards and swim with the nearby dolphins. We highly recommend Jean and Outside Hilton Head Outpost!

Discover Daufuskie Island tour is 4 1/2 hours. Pete was a knowable guide about the history/people/geography and was captain of the boat. Boat is a 20 passenger open flatboat for a 50 minute fast (30mph) windy trip to the island. Guided discussion of island on golf carts. 50 min. return. Wear a warm jacket/hoodie, tie on hats/caps/sunglasses.

Captain C.C. took us out for an hour and a half tour of the waterways. She knew all about the dolphins we saw and the history of the area. I got a lot of great photos and the Captains service made for a very memorable afternoon. Thanks C.C.!

My wife and I took a 2-hour kayak trip with Outside Hilton Head and loved it. The guides were fantastic and pointed out very interesting wildlife and landmarks and the evening was even capped off by fireworks during our trip.

Highly recommend this experience...we got up early and went on the 7am trip and were rewarded with several dolphin sightings. Great job!

Took my 8 year old on the kayak trip. We both loved. Ive taken my wife and my oldest son on this before. Always see something interesting. This time we saw alot of dolphins.

Great service. Knowledgeable staff. Called to reserve a pontoon boat around 11:30 in the morning and we were set up and on the water by 12:30. The boat we received was in pretty good condition. Decent radio with Bluetooth capability (which is a huge plus). Only downsides were the speedo didnt work nor did the depth finder.

My daughters had a good ti.e kayaking yesterday morning. They saw a mother dolphin and her baby and the oyster bed. Jeff was thier guide and did a good job.

Had an amazing time out on the water today with Captain Mike Moto and our extended family of five adults and four kids. Tubing, searching for sand dollars on Vanishing Island, a visit to Dafuskie for lunch and jumping off the dock at one of Outsides hammock islands. Captain Moto made sure everyone had a great time! Cant recommend him and Outside more highly.

Great experience. 4 adults, 4 kids. We went at 3pm which was around low tide. We got to see all the oyster beds teaming with life. The equipment was great, kayaks were clean and easy to use. The guides go through a lot of training to become naturalists. They had tons of knowledge. The only thing we would do differently is to go in the morning or book a private trip. This would get us a smaller group. If you are experienced kayakers, go private, you wont get held back by weaker kayakers.

The kayak tour of the marina and Broad Creek was excellent. Our guide did a great job of setting a pace that was just right for newbies and more experienced kayakers.It was peaceful out on the water and not too hot, despite being in the sun and long sleeves. I was grateful for my hat! We saw manitees, crabs, snails, a pelican, a great blue heron, and experienced the smooth texture of plough (pluff) mud. We had a wide age range (6-68) in our immediate group, and everyone enjoyed it.

This was a wonderful experiance. We opted for a four hour pontoon rental. The staff was extremely helpful and curtious! The boat was clean, had a full tank. I will definitaly return and use there services.

What a complete joke this was. Booked a 4 hour fishing charter. Spent more than a #&$%ing hour trying to catch bait. Had an hour boat ride out and and hour boat ride back... fishing time was less than an hour....HORRIBLE!!! Dont waste your money!!!!

We rented 2 single kayaks, a double kayak and a Hobie. One of the singles did not have a backseat cushion and the occupant had to use the life vest to keep the plastic from sticking in their back.I moved to HHI a year ago and rented the Hobie since I was thinking of purchasing one. A little east of the Cross Island Bridge the seat broke. I should have taken up an offer to be towed/pushed back but did not want to ruin everyone elses time. I did not realize how difficult and eventually painful it is to pedal or paddle a Hobie with zero back support.When I arrived back to the counter and explained my experience the man said Well at least you got back and Yeah we have been having problems with the Hobies. Not I am sorry that happened.Everyone else was back in the planned 2 hours. I had gotten back in an hour. I felt I should have not been charged at all, but when I checked later, I realized I was charged for the second hour. I called and spoke with a woman and explained the situation. She said she would credit the second hour right away, which she did, took my phone number and email and said she would contact me further. I never heard from her.The 2 stars are for the rest of the party who enjoyed themselves

Took a 4 hour fishing charter on thebay runnrr with Captain John. Had an awesome time my 9 year old said it was the best day of his life.

We went on the dolphin tour at sunset. No dolphins because of high winds, but the captain still made it a good trip.
