Dolphins galore. Some came within 10 yards. About the easiest kayak trip weve done. After instructions were give the total time on water was about an hour and 20 minutes. Do this at low tide, you get to see so much more wildlife.

We made a family pledge to spend every New Years Day doing something new to all of us. This year - Kayaking! And Jarvis Creek was an amazing experience for all of us. We went on a 2-hour guided tour, in single and double kayaks, and had a fantastic time. Of course, it didnt hurt that it was 77 degrees and sunny on January 1st (this is why we moved to the South, people! Love you, OH & NJ, but....)Our guide walked us through the basics of paddling and handling to boats, and off we went. He was really knowledgeable on the wildlife, and helped us spot several different birds, lots of dolphins, and plenty of turtles! We went all the way out to the Intracoastal Waterway, had a look at the HarborTown lighthouse in the distance, and then meandered back to the dock. Our 7-year-old was with Dad in a double kayak, while the 10, 13, & 15-year old, along with Mom, paddled their own, which worked great. After we worked up an appetite, we had a delicious meal the Crazy Crab (see separate review).Highly recommended for families or other groups - youll have a blast! Its a little tough to find from the road, but just look for the Crazy Crab sign and youll find it!

We went for the nature tour. It was great. This is the third year in a row that we have done it. Our guide was super knowledgeable about the area and kept the kids entertained with facts and history. The tour was about 2 hours, with instruction at the beginning, so about 1.5hrs water time, which was more than enough for our crew.

My husband and I booked our kayak tour though the Coastal Discovery Museum. This adventure does not disappoint!Mark starts out with a tutorial about kayaking and how to enjoy the sport safely. Once you’re on the water, you’re traveling through such an incredible wildlife habitat-all types of birds, crabs, oysters and the best of all...DOLPHINS!Mark makes the experience; it’s a blast and very educational. The wildlife encounters you may experience are unlike anything else because you’re right in their habitat while they’re just going about their lives.Definitely book a kayak tour, you will not regret it!

Absolutely fantastic trip and Mike is such a nice guy! We came through on a low tide day with a major storm coming in and Mike flagged us down to come and show us the shortest route back to shore. Cheap prices and great equipment lead towards a fantastic day. Afterward, with Mikes recommendation, we walked over to the Crazy Crab for a filling meal. I would recommend this little shack with a big heart to everyone stopping by!

We took the Coastal Discovery kayak tour. Mark knows the wildlife and area well, so we learned a lot. He informed us of the kayak choices (pros & cons of each type), as well as which route we took. We opted to see if we could see any dolphins by heading to/near the ICW. We lucked out and saw a dolphin. Beautiful area to explore. I recommend taking this tour. Its also nice having a guide because you learn a lot & dont have to worry about getting stuck because youre not familiar with the local tides.

DONT go in the afternoon unless you just like to paddle around and are not looking for wildlife, but like to glean some knowledge about the waterways and its denizens from your tour guide. Mark was a FOUNTAIN of information!
