Good family FUN. Our guide Kyle was so kind and very knowledgeable of the island. Our family of 3 had the best time. Kyle was so sweet and snapped a picture of us while we were out on the boards.

Had a great time paddleboarding with kids! Kyle was a great guide and made sure everyone knew what to do before getting on water. He took us on a nice tour of the cove and told nteresting stories about the island. Good times!

Last weekend we went on a sunset sail on the Salty Cat with Captain Tucker & First Mate Chris. It was a wonderful experience! Captain Tucker & Chris were both very knowledgeable and helpful during our sail. We enjoyed a beautiful sunset on the Calibogue and learned a bit about sailing along the way! It was a perfect way to spend our last evening in the lowcountry!

Horrible experience! Guide allen is the worst!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!! You have to stay in a area the side of a football field! The guide ALLEN follows you everywhere such an uncomfortable feeling! You cannot go by your own family unless a 100 yards away DO NOT THINK MAYBE IT ISNT THAT BAD!! IT IS!

Island Water Sports was great! We rented one wave runner for two full grown adults and there was plenty of room for two people. When we booked two days before the lady made sure to tell us multiple times to be there a half hour before our departure time. We received an email and signed waivers electronically, included in the waiver is a video of dos and donts. Clearly, for liability purposes they make you watch the video again upon your arrival. The video is less than 10 minutes long, so not a big deal. They also provide a dock-box for you to put your stuff (phone, keys, wallets, etc in.Allen was our guide, he was knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. He explained the area we could ride in, and the expectations that we go slow through the channel to create no-wake and not run aground. Allen explained multiple times that if you go too close to the shore or get too close to other riders he will signal to you to move back. The area to ride in is very large, and you can definitely get up to a good speed and maintain a safe distance from other riders.We have already booked standup paddle boards with Island Water Sports and we are looking forward to it!

First, I SAW A SEA TURTLE!Second, My 10 year old son and I shared a jet-ski/waverunner rental on Friday, July 16. The team at Island Water Sports were extremely friendly, helpful, and knowledge. The young lady at the counter greeted us, checked us in, and complimented us for being early. We had to fill out some extra paperwork that I did not complete online correctly and she made that process very easy. We had some extra time, so she encouraged us to check out the Salty Dog complex while we waited and reminded us to put on sunscreen!The video is a repeat of the video you must watch as part of your online booking process. I understand this is a repeat, but for insurance reasons, they need to make sure everyone watches it. Then, Allen (our captain for the hour) provided some information about the jetski area, boater safety, and what we could anticipate on the water. He also explained how to safely operate the jetskis. He was clear, concise, and easy to understand. Allen then guided us down to the docks and our rides. I noticed that Allen made sure to talk to each guest to get to know them and see whether they had any questions or experience on jetskis.I noticed some reviews addressed the size of the jetski area and I considered not booking here because of them. Let me say a few words about that: Yes, you are in a confined space. However, that space is probably 1 mile wide by 1 mile long. It is plenty enough space to spread out, drive fast, drive slow, get wet, and have a great time. You definitely will not be able to take family photos on the jet skis while in the bay, but I bet Island Water Sports would work with its guests to take a photo on the skis before going out or coming back.I have jet ski-ed many times, but only in lakes. On the ocean, the waves were bigger and I found it much more difficult to maneuver than Im used to. It was my sons first time. I admit we did fall off once (completely by accident) because I wasnt expecting a wave to knock us over while we were mostly stopped. Getting back into the jetski was easy for both my son and I, and Allen raced over to check on us.There were some other boats in the bay so you do need to be mindful of your surroundings, but Allen made sure to warn us about this during his routine.I do not plan to go back to Hilton Head, but I would rent from these folks again and I would recommend them to others!

My wife, son and I went out on the Cat last night. It was stunning. Captain *Rego and Mike were so fun and made a wonderful experience for us.

Overall our group had a great time with the wave runners. Checkin staff was friendly and the safety talk and launch were smooth. The operating area is well defined and a safety boat/overwatch sits out in the bay during the hour. Young men handling launch/recovery and overwatch were friendly - no fuss. Couple of minor points of feedback - the rubber launch pad holding the wave runners is slick when it gets wet. Beside the wave runner slot could use some traction assistance. Two of our group slipped on return with minor abrasions. Also because they make everyone watch the video at the checkin; the online-wavier activity seems pointless.

They deserve 10 stars! The staff is amazing! Lauren is so friendly. Freddy is beyond amazing! The 9 dollar gate fee is worth it because there is tons to do in Sea Pines. Before you take off on your jet ski they safely place your belongings in a bin. Freddy is out on a boat watching you as your ridding to ensure your safety. Which made me feel a ton better (you know being out in the ocean and all) lol. I just can’t say enough great things about Freddy. Amazing place to go have fun.

The staff here was very friendly, the wave runners were very good, and then you have the smooth water was great for wave-running. If you want the best experience possible, I suggest going for the 9:00 am session. Also, I felt very safe because of the fact that there was a very responsible gentlemen named Freddy who stayed on the boat and insured our safety at all times! I recommend this place over Sea Monkeys because it is just a much better overall experience!

My family and I rented the pontoon boat on Saturday to celebrate the holiday weekend. We were able to check-in online so we didn’t have to worry about social distancing. When we arrived, the boat was ready for us. It was clean and in good shape unlike some others we have rented in the past. The guy on the dock was helpful explaining the area since it has been a few years since I took a boat out in Hilton Head. Will definitely be back!

We rented four jet skis for my brother’s birthday. In the agreement, we signed a waiver telling us all that we needed. However, they failed to mention that we all needed to bring our drivers license. My brother had his military ID, however they wouldn’t accept it as a form of identification. When we asked for a refund, we were told that we couldn’t get one for his jet ski.The staff wasn’t the friendliest either. Our guide was also very vague and confusing. For the amount of money I spent on this, I’m disappointed with this company.There is another company, SeaMonkeys, that I really enjoyed and they are 15 minutes from this place. 10/10 would recommend instead!!

Great experience. Good sized area to fly around in semi choppy water or cruise next to the coast at casual speeds. Staff super friendly. Jet skies in great condition maxing around 40 mph.

Rented jet skis and they were so much fun. All staff very friendly and knowledgeable! Highly recommend!

I never write reviews, this just shows how dissatisfied I was with this company. Horrible customer service. Will not be back. We paid $130 for jet ski rentals and were poorly informed that you had to pay at the gate to get in, when we called they made no effort to accommodate us at all and were very rude. When I asked to speak to a manager they told me no— really upsetting because we would’ve been returning customers, next time we will go with another company.

Awful customer service. Manager has no idea what she’s doing. Booking any service with them is a huge mistake.

Horrible experience and DO NOT RECOMMEND to Anyone we had a reservation at 12:30 arrived at 12:15 and our jet skis were gone because we were “late” the lady in charge claimed she told us to be there at 12:00 but she did not. She kept our $25 deposit but yet rented out our reserves jet skis before 12:30 which makes no sense. Horrible

We rented a double jet ski today and had an absolute blast. Our guide was very thorough in regards to safety and informing us on how to operate the jet ski in relationship to local laws and boating etiquette. Highly recommend if you’re looking to have in the water in HHI

Recently had my first stand up paddle-boarding experience here and I already cant wait to come back and do it again! Glenn the instructor was such a great teacher that by the end of the session he had all of us novices paddling out to the sound like old pros! Island Water Sports is an ideal place to learn because their location at the marina is sheltered from the wind and choppy waters. The whole team is great and I highly recommend these guys!

They know they are the only ones in this area and offer ridiculous prices as a result. Are you looking to fish? Lucky for you they have banned bringing fishing gear on their kayaks so you are then forced to spend 400$ on the marina charter service. Or if you are just looking to rent kayaks with your kids it is 25$ per hour per kayak... Theyd get way more business if they were reasonable with rates and rules, instead of only being focused on their bottom line.

We had a great experience with the guided kayak tour. Our guide Alan made it a very educational and fun. We saw dolphins, a bald eagle and a kids got to touch a jellyfish.

Everyone was so friendly and helpful at this place! The pontoon boat we rented was in pristine condition and was perfect for our outing. Highly recommend using these guys.

For 5 summers I have been coming to Hilton Head Island and exclusively interacting with the people at Island Watersports. I have first hand knowledge of all their activities and they present a high standard of professionalism and quality of experience. It is a wonderful company with great individuals working there. I would certainly recommend using their services no matter what youre interested in doing on the water!

Awesome staff, great water sport actives, worth every penny. Last week we went parasailing though island water sports and it was such a blast cant wait to come back and do the rest of the water sports!

Excellent training and more experience on StandUp Paddleboard in May 2015. Beyond the water experience alone, excellent wildlife exposure, and intriguing changes with tide shifts. SUP guide was most helpful in my developing better techniques and learning more about a fascinating area.

I went on a sail for the Carolina Moon on 6-23-14. The weather was looking ominous before we left. We were told that if we had to come back early that our money would be refunded. We idled out. The captain and his assistant continually looked at their phones to check on the weather. Another passenger saw lightening a few minutes into the sail, but the captain ignored him. We continued to stay out, but did not really sail. The weather became stormier. The captain and his assistant prepared the boat for our return and we returned 1 hour into a 2 hour trip. Half of our money was refunded, but not the total as promised. I sent 2 emails, with no response to the 2nd one. I eventually had to dispute the charge with my credit card company. The trip should have never departed and they kept us out half the time on the dot on purpose. I was very disappointed. Kathy S.Visited June 2014

I contacted them about renting a kayak to go fishing from for redfish. They told me they dont allow fishing from their rental kayaks because theyre located in a marina that offers charter fishing, so no fishing can be done from the rental kayaks. This business is all about making money from the tourism industry and is ruining Hilton head. Stay away!!!
