Great place for boat rentals! We rented a boat for 2 hours and with everything including taxes and damage waiver we only paid about $370. Our captain Sean was great in showing us the ropes and everything we needed to know and what not to do. The view on the water was very beautiful. Very great experience and this was our first time ever driving a boat. Highly recommend when visiting the island.

We went out on a dolphin cruise, and had a wonderful time. It was very thrilling to see the dolphins in their natural habitat. The guides were very knowledgeable and friendly. You can tell they really enjoy what they do. They definitely deserve a generous tip at the end of the outing.

Shelter Cove Marina is fantastic. Make sure you go to Outside Brands/Hilton Head for your kayaking needs, they are the absolute best. They are so community oriented that they donate their kayaking equipment to Special Olympics Area 8 for FREE. God bless Mike Overton and his very capable crew for helping our athletes!!

It was awesome!! This was our first trip here and we had a great time!! The Dolphin Safari was relaxing and informative as well as exciting to see the Dolphins swimming around and playing.

What an amazing marina. Yachts of all sizes for daydreaming, rental yachts, kayaks, and paddle boards. And as a bonus, a resident manatee. Very clean and well maintained area, with shopping, restaurants, and condos all around it.

Nice place for an afternoon stroll. Some good gift shops to get your retail therapy bug quenched. Several very popular restaurants.

Paige is a very very informative and patient guide on the kayak tour. Great information!Pick the early hours to beat the sun. We got lucky and saw dolphins right out of the harbor.If you visit Hilton Head, go down and see Paige.

Shelter Cove is beautiful and everyone was helpful. We chose a really hot day to be on the water, which our kiddos did not enjoy...(mandatory life jackets). Great family time.

Amazing service check in was quick easy process. They had our boat ready to go no wait at all on a Sunday afternoon. The ride was so much fun and my husband loved every bit of it. We will definitely be returning.

We spent almost $500 for 3 hours including gas for a pontoon. Given that most of the people that rent this only own drivers license and not boat license, they were incredibly rude when we pulled back in. The guy named Sean, who wears a full face covering mask even though it isn’t required, told us to go a 360 and pull around so the lines would be on the right side, yelled at us and argued with us when we did exactly what he asked of us. He had a huge attitude and was very arrogant after doing HIS ORDERS. Coming from family who is very open minded and would’ve tipped at the end for helping, he made it so we never want to rent a boat from them again. I highly recommend Watersports on the other end of the island who is very professional and FRIENDLY and offer the exact same services.

The only thing that would have made it a little nicer would have been signs so we knew where to go other than that the marina was excellent. Very clean great neighborhood.

Love this place. Staying at Captains Quarters on the harbor by the Marina. The Pearl, hosted by Egan McGlynn. She is an amazing host and we had everything we could have needed in this condo! Shops and restaurants in walking distance, no need to get in your car!

Great place to rent a high quality boat at a fair price. The Harbour Master (Jason) and his crew are top notch, going out of their way to make sure you make the most of your time in Hilton Head and on the water with their boats. My family has made renting a boat from Shelter Cove a tradition and will be back again!

Shelter Cove Marina in Hilton Head, SC is beautiful. The marina is full of interesting boats of all sizes. You can rent many different types including kayaks and paddleboards. There are excursions to see dolphin, explore the marshes, the sealife and birds. A lot of options await you. There is one huge yacht that you can arrange to use for a special luncheon or dinner. A full staff is included supplying designer cocktails and gourmet food. Sure sounds luxurious to me.Its a great place to walk and enjoy the beauty around you. There are many restaurants and shops to delight all. The walkways are wide and there are benches and rockers along the way. The people are friendly as are most tourists enjoying this lovely setting.

We loved the staff and the ride was great!! We got see dolphins and jellyfish, we went to 2 islands to collect shells and saw so many starfish. We also got to see an alligator. Our guide was funny and knowledgeable about the history of the area.

It is a great place to stroll and enjoy the shops and the boats. I love the bakery and have enjoyed the restaurants and bars (they have good food.) There are lots of boat trips and water fun to choose from.

We went for the daufuskie island tour and had the best day yet...our captian was an incredible wealth of knowledge and transported us to an American treasure, introduced us to the Gullah culture and edutained us about a beautiful, rich amazing place and people i had never even heard of and now Im enchanted

This is a great marina well away from any wake and with full amenities. We pulled up for a short 2 night stay and wished we could have stayed even longer. The floating docks are very nice, especially considering the 6 tidal range. Plenty of power and water hookups for every boat. The ships store is well stocked and right on sight. There are also numerous restaurants, a bakery, and ice cream place all within sight of your slip. You can stop by the fuel station for gasoline or diesel on your way out or in.We had a great time at Shelter Cove Marina and would recommend it to anyone.

Love to visit this place. Beautiful Marina, lots of eateries, shops, nice walkway for strolling and taking in the lovely views. Tour/fishing boats. The Poseidon sundial is a lovely feature.

This is a return visit to Shelter Cove Marina for the M/V Hail Mary in 2019. The quality, cleanliness and amenities of this Marina make it a clear choice for travelers. The warm and friendly staff ensure that any need is considered and attended to, quickly. If you have travel plans on the ICW in the coming weeks, you must stop here to view the decorations and enjoy the Christmas Spirit. Definitely call quickly as they are filling up!

Our Outside Hilton Head kayaking tour from Shelter Cove Marina was great! Staff were friendly and helpful, they were accommodating, and it was a great time!

One of HHI top places to visit.the marina was really stocked up with magnificent yachts, cruisers and whalers.to our surprise we got to see two Manatees in the shallow water.they brought a lot of onlookers.my wife and I visit Shelter Cove often.just living the dream.

Rented a boat for 3 hours and was able to make it to Old Town Bluffton and back! Great staff, new boat with gps, clean bathrooms, easy on/off!

Go to “Outside Hilton Head Activity Outpost” to rent all sorts of boats or tours. We had a blast, even in the searing heat of the day, coming across a few dolphins, crabs, and fish. I would recommend going while it’s cloudy, or earlier/later in the day when it’s not so hot, especially if you’ll be paddling yourself on the water.

A great place to walk around, see the water, visit the shops, eat, great parking, great views, great walkways on both sides with a great bridge.

I went kayaking around with a few friends. After me and my friend strayed from the larger group we ended up see mostly calm and tranquil waters. We went into a few spots we probably shouldnt have and almost got stuck a few times in the shallows as well as the sharp oyster things. Please avoid a situation where you have to leave the boat and step on them I avoided it but one of my friends wasnt so lucky and got badly cut up. Though overall if you avoid those spots and dont get beached youll see nature at its finest and countless species of birds.

Went on the Craigcat adventure! Had a blast...recommend it to all..fun!

Captain Nick was awesome on the Dolphin Eco Tour. He gave us a lot of information about the area and waterways. Would definitely recommend asking for him if you are here at Hilton Head Island and are wanting to some boat tours with Outside Hilton Head.

If you’re going to be staying here and not one of the elite locals don’t expect many friendly faces. I asked the attendant at the boat and paddle board rentals directions and he scratched his groin the entire time he gave me the wrong directions.

We had an enjoyable and scenic boat ride to Daufuskie island and captain Pete was very knowledgeable of the island and Gullah people. Thoroughly enjoyed it and highly recommend it.

Terrible customer service. KATE is the worst. Completely messed up our reservation and then offered no assistance.

Excellent place to keep your boat ! Restaurants and shops in walking distance of your slip. A large grocery store very close by with lots of shopping stores to visit. Right in the middle of hiltonhead and a quick ride to anywhere on the island. Marina is out of the weather, so no rocking and bouncing from waves or boat traffic. Nice bathrooms, laundry machines, and excellent ships store with very nice staff.

Nice place to walk around, watching the boats and spend the evening. Chartered fishing and boating trips available. I rented one of the yacht for the weekend and used the facility at the harbor store for showers, this facility was very clean and well maintained.

Shelter Cove Marina has been a family favorite destination since long before we owned our own boat. So as you could imagine, it was truly a dream come true to dock our boat here for a week! It was everything we hoped it would be, and more!The marina itself is very well maintained. The entire staff is kind, helpful and very customer focused. There are security guards that walk around 24/7 and we felt extremely safe. There are amenities in the marina (bathrooms, free laundry, free bikes) as well as many restaurants. There is also a large grocery store (Kroger) that is a quick walk away. Plus some great shops! Shelter Cove does have beach access. Its a long bike ride though to get to the beach.The only negative about this marina is the proximity of some of the docks to the facilities. Hauling laundry to and from the laundry room was not easy. If you plan to use the laundry room a lot during your stay, you may want to mention that as you make your reservation and ask for the closest possible spot.Overall, we absolutely loved our stay at Shelter Cove!

I can not say very much about this. We only here because of a dolphin tour we took. There were multiple shops that had a directory of how to get around. We stopped at a Mexican restaurant and had margaritas before our tour and a ice cream shop afterward. Very helpful people at both. I wrote a separate review on the Mexican restaurant about the FANTASTIC margarita we had. The ice cream shop had many flavors and the owner was very friendly.

Shelter Cove Marina is just beautiful and on a nice day it is fabulous. Of course, I love the water and yachts but a great atmosphere as well. Clean and families are welcome.

We went on the Dolphin Seafari tour and the fold we extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the dolphin and the whole estuary system. Captain did a fantastic job of piloting us around. I would recommend this outfit to anyone.

Very nice place. Restaurants, shops and beautiful boats in the Marina. Tuesday nights they have a festival with fireworks. Would recommend taking the family here for a nice stroll, food and fireworks.

We arrived in November of 19 and stayed the for winter. The setting is idyllic. There are many shops and restaurants all within close proximity. The grounds, service, and staff are fantastic. The response from the marina staff is prompt, courteous, and professional. If you need service or repair, Jason the dock master effortlessly selects an appropriate and qualified technician from his local knowledge. Additionally the two most important things we seek in a marina are clean bathrooms and decent wifi. Unlike many other marina bathrooms, these are cleaned daily and with a recent winter 19 remodel the ladies facilities look great. The only disadvantage is they are long walk from many of the docks. However the marina remedies this by working with a local bicycle rental company to supply slip holders a rental bike for the duration of their stay. The wifi is strong and fast throughout the marina. Pump-out service is easily scheduled with on an online webform and the capable Clayton shows up on schedule a couple of times each week to eliminate the elimination. Docking and leaving the slip is easy with little or no current and the competent assistance from Capn Shawn and helpers. A shout out to Roz and Deb who handily run the ships store and always have a smile to share! All in all, I can heartily recommend spending time at Shelter Cove.

Our group took a boat ride with Captain Nick. Captain Nick was the absolute best tour guide I’ve ever had for anything. He’s super knowledgeable about literally everything in Hilton Head, the surrounding islands, and the state of South Carolina in general. Plus, he was just a fun guy to talk to. We can’t thank him enough!!
